Batman (1966) "Penguin's Disastrous End" Season 2, Episode 43

Penguin and his henchmen have moved their captives, Batman & Robin to a giant catapult on the backlot. The only thing keeping them from launching is a rope Penguin has set on fire. Batman & Robin have mere moments before the catapult will send a pair of Bats toward an uncertain fate!

Note:

All of the GIFs were made from 4K (99%) & 8K (1 wide shot I needed to zoom/crop to get them laying on the catapult) upscales using Topaz AI.

I should note the shot of them mid-air has been altered. I pulled the footage into Final Cut Pro X & used the magnetic mask to separate them from the fake studio background they're "spinning" against. I replaced it with more modern stock footage.

Batman (1966) "Penguin is a Girl's Best Friend" Season 2, Episode 42

Penguin is posing as a film director to pull off his latest heist. He invites Batman & Robin to be part of his film, though dubious, they agree. Once on the film set they learn quickly that Penguin's stuntmen mean business! Penguin calls "Action!" and the crimefighters are set upon by his men. They fight valiantly until Penguin trains a blinding spotlight on them. The pair are disoriented for a moment, giving the henchmen an opening to snare Batman & Robin with a net, hopelessly tangling them under it. The Caped Crusaders are the helpless subjects of whatever scene Penguin has concocted for them next!

Batman's Deep Freeze 2025

Mr. Freeze seems to be operating in the northeast US this week. Woke up to 4 degrees Fahrenheit today! Batman & Robin aren't having any better of a time themselves. Keep warm out there!

Where/how do you get such high quality 1966 Batman TV video? Did you buy the DVDs, and are you using any tools for restoration?

I use the Blu-rays from the set that came out in 2014. Much higher quality than DVDs. The image quality & color accuracy from that set is miles above what had been broadcasted on TV Land and other "rerun" channels in the years before. Many of my posts are just from the Blu-rays.

The last year or two, I've started using AI software from a company called Topaz Labs. Using their Video AI software allows me to upscale the 1080p Blu-ray footage to 4K. From the upscaled footage, I can crop and select parts of the frame to essentially "zoom" in without losing quality. Thanks for the question!

Batman (Season 2, Episode 38, January 12th 1967) "Joker's Hard Times" (Batman & Robin captured under Joker's net)

Batman & Robin have been surprised by Joker as they creep around his lair. Joker has flipped a switch dropping a net on the unsuspecting crimefighters! The heroes flail wildly under the net as they quickly become helplessly tangled by the mesh snare!

Joker taunts them as he has Venus brought in to see the Defeated Duo. Joker insinuates a gruesome plan with a reference to a three-course meal eliciting worried expressions from the trapped crimefighters.

Batman (Season 2, Episode 38, January 12th 1967) "Joker's Hard Times" (Joker drops net on Batman & Robin) Batman & Robin close in on Joker after his Pisces-based theft during his Zodiac crime spree. Arriving at what seems to be a deserted hideout, the Clown-Prince-of-Crime has a surprise in store for the Dynamic Duo!

Batman (1966) Season 1, Episode 11 "A Riddle A Day Keeps the Riddler Away" Batman & Robin locate Riddler's hideout where the kidnapped King Boris is being held. Before they can rescue the ruler, Riddler drops a weighted net on The Dynamic Duo. The mesh net consumes the pair of crimefighters tangling them in its fibers. Batman & Robin collapse the floor delighting Riddler as he dances around them! Riddler's henchmen aims a high speed fan and spray bottle at them. The fan delivers a sticky substance that quickly turns the net into an inescapable cocoon! Batman & Robin struggle in vain against the sticky net that's completely wrapped around them, leaving them completely helpless against Riddler's and his evil plans!

Beastmaster (1982) - Dar's Village Attacked

Working in the fields, Dar (Marc Singer) sees his village's enemy, the Juns, approaching for an attack. He and his friends race to defend their people, but the Juns overwhelm them. Dar fights the Juns, but is ultimately overwhelmed & knocked out during the battle. GIFs made from the 4K UHD release of Beastmaster. Superboy, S1E19 "War of the Species", 2nd Battle

TJ is captured by Dr. Stuart and his robot to lure Superboy into a trap. Superboy arrives in time to save TJ, but a fierce battle with the robot ensues. Superboy manages to dispatch Dr. Stuart's killer robot, but he may face yet another challenge in the moments that follow!

Superboy is captured & rendered completely helpless by crazed genius Knick Knack in the first part of his revenge plot!

Knick Knack transports the helpless Superboy to his hideout. Superboy is placed in front of a device that will drain him of his energy and siphon it to Knick Knack's mechanized super suit!
