My family is still staying in half of the church that wasn’t affected by the bombing because there is nowhere else to stay other than tents. They are limited to one small meal a day and one shower a week. They are sleeping on the floors, but no one can sleep since there is bombing everywhere around them. Even when there is no bombing, they can still hear the loud buzzing sound of the military planes above them, which would keep anyone who hears it awake. Along with everything, My grandma has diabetes and osteoporosis, so she can’t walk. This is my mom's 14-year-old cat "Sleepy" (and my daughter's best friend) My mom passed away on her birthday in 2021 from stage 5 cancer. I could tell you a million stories about how much this furbaby means to us and how much of a blessing she has been to our lives... but that's not as important as getting her help right now.

Just before Christmas my daughter was cuddling her and noticed a discharge was leaking from her nipples. I reached out to a friend who is knowledgeable about everything feline. She recommended we give her a warm shower and clean the area with soapy water and take a picture to send her. The picture made our hearts sink. Sleepy has always had a soft underbelly that droops a little when on all fours. We certainly never noticed anything before. The day after we took the picture she ulcerated (seen in the other pictures) I had sterile wound care supplies from when I took care of my mom, and my friend recommended a product sold at petsmart called silverhoney. I have been applying that and changing out her dressing every day. But it's not healing. I even tried to put a very small amount of triple antibiotic cream around (not on) the ulcerations but I'm not comfortable doing that again as there is too much negative information online about using it on cats. (despite what vets have recommended in the past) because of the infection its spread into her lungs. She's struggling to breathe and with antibiotics she only has days left.

I work a fulltime and a part time job just to keep a roof over our heads. I'm poorer now than when I was on SSI. If I could have afforded to take her to the vet when the first picture was taken, I would have! I feel absolutely horrible about not having any kind of savings for emergencies. I don't even make enough to save... I don't want her to get sepsis or gangrene or develop abcesses or watch her slowly die over an infection that needs antibiotics. I have a suspicion not a diagnosis, and I don't even have enough money to put her down if what's going on isn't treatable. I absolutely hate asking for help when I work this hard at 2 jobs with nothing to show for it but covering the basics. But I'm not asking for me, I'm asking for her. She needs to be seen. Any financial help is so so needed and greatly appreciated.

I have a PayPal. The estimate reflects the only vet in our tricity area that will take donations over the phone but they require the money upfront. I applied for care credit and was denied.

I didn't set up a gofundme as they take too much money out, and the payments take too long to come through. She needs to be seen asap.

You stand before the mirror, scrutinizing every inch of your body with a critical eye. You pinch your cheeks and tug at your stomach, wishing desperately that they were just a little bit different. It's late, and you should be getting ready for bed, but instead you're lost in a sea of self-doubt and self-loathing, your fingers kneading your flesh in a vain attempt to reshape it. You know that this behavior isn't healthy, that it's just reinforcing your negative body image, but you can't seem to stop yourself. As you gaze at your reflection, you wonder how you got here, to this place where you can't even look at yourself without feeling ashamed. You want to make a change, to feel confident and beautiful in your own skin, but you don't know where to start. So you keep pinching, keep wishing, keep hoping that someday you'll wake up and find that everything has changed.

As you stand in front of the mirror, lost in your thoughts, you suddenly hear the door open. You turn to see your partner, Ghetsis, entering the room. He is a very tall and handsome man, but what stands out the most is the eyepatch he wears over his, it sorrowed you a bit to know the fact that he has been slowly going blind in the other as well. He looks at you quizzically, taking in your pinched and pulled expression, and asks softly, "What are you doing, my love?"

You freeze, embarrassed to have been caught in this vulnerable moment. You try to play it off, smiling weakly and saying, "Oh, nothing. Just checking myself out." But Ghetsis can sense that there's something more going on. He steps closer, his hand reaching out to touch your arm. "You know you can tell me anything, right?" he says, his voice gentle and reassuring. "I'm here for you." You peer over at the mirror once more and see your own lip quivering in your reflection. You're horrid at keeping your feelings down when it comes to him, he always had this odd aura around him that made you feel a sense of vulnerability. Not that that was a bad thing, you could often keep your composure in public settings, but otherwise you melted like butter at him, especially when he spoke with such softness in his tone towards you. You turn back to him, his hand that he had reached to you with was still held up but was pulled back closer to himself. He looked down at you with concern and confusion in his expression, and you felt a little bad for worrying him, but you sighed and relaxed a little, taking a step towards him before wrapping your arms around his stomach area, he in return wrapped you in his own. You both quietly stood there together for a while before you spoke up finally, "I'm surprised you settled for me.. I'm far from perfect." You said with a sorrowful laugh, burying your face in his chest. Silence fell over the two of you for another moment, before Ghetsis finally spoke up once more "I want you to know that you are perfect exactly as you are. Your body may not feel like it fits, but to me, it is a beautiful expression of who you are. Your quirks, your flaws, every part of you is uniquely and wonderfully you, and that is what makes you truly beautiful in my eyes. Please know that you are loved and accepted just the way you are, and that your body does not define your worth as a person." He kisses you on the head and pulls back from the hug a bit "I may not see the very best anymore, but I know you are certainly the most perfect person I have ever set my eye upon." You smiled up at him, your eyes a bit watery as you put your palm up to your face to get rid of the forming tears, he smiled right back and guided you out of the bathroom "Come now, my beloved, let's get some rest." he said, keeping an arm around you as you both walked back towards the bed, you could feel how really tired you were now as you said, "Yeah... sounds like a plan."

Swaying yourself from side to side and staring at the floor as you sat on a bed, you awaited for Cyrus to enter the room. He had previously promised to spend a little bit of time with you, even if it wasn't much.

Neither of you are really the social kind of person, and that was okay, you both gravitated towards each other because of that. Often times you'd sit on his bed with him and read or talk and just be alright. It was quiet, and it was rare that the two of you would be interrupted by anything. The door opened eventually, and you looked up from staring at the floor to be greeted by Cyrus, who gave you a nod and held a finger up, to ask for you to wait for him one more moment. He then walked off into a private bathroom he had in his room. When he came out, he had his overcoat held in his arms and his hair pushed back a bit from its usual messy bird's nest of a hairstyle. He set his overcoat down on a chair in the room and made his way back over to the bed where he sat next to you, before pushing himself further onto the bed and up against the wall. You followed that motion and a silence then fell over the two of you for a bit. He had a long day, and you didn't want to intrude, but at the same time it was hard for you to sit still and be quiet for long. Not that Cyrus minded when you spoke up either. "Do you want to know something I learned today?" "Of course." You smiled at the response before continuing "The closest star system to us is called Proxima Centauri, and it's about 4.25 light-years away from earth. Isn't that neat?" You asked, looking up at him, he didn't look back, but he did nod "That is quite interesting. What else do you know that you haven't yet told me?" He asked, and your face lit up in response "Well did you know that there are more than 4,000 known exoplanets? There are more known to be out there but only around that many found yet, and also the boundary of the solar system ends in a spherical cloud called the Oort cloud. I wish I could see it; it sounds quite pretty... oh and one more thing-" You went on for a good while, and by the time you thought you might've been talking for too long, you looked up at Cyrus to see if he was bored or annoyed with you. He hadn't said anything since you started going on and you wanted to make sure you weren't speaking too much. However, you were gratefully greeted with Cyrus having his full attention to you, and he looked confused as to why you stopped talking. "Sorry, was I speaking too much?" You asked, you voice quiet as you rocked yourself subconsciously back and forth "Not at all, you're perfectly alright I promise." Your smile returned as he said that and you leaned back onto the wall once more, shifting your body so you could lean on him a bit, and he didn't move out of the way or anything which was good.
