plz give me all your takes on Eddie defending Bucks’s intelligence (because why the fuck does everyone thing buck is stupid? he may be a little dumb, but he’s not stupid) / honor (because why does everyone just brush off the fact that buck has been sexually taken advantage of by a fucking therapist that’s literally illegal) / just plain defending Buck (he’d protect Buck, fight club style, if ever it came down to it).
Eddie really, really hates the way people treat Buck sometimes.
No one ever really sees him for all that he is. They look at him and see a pretty face and a beautiful body, and they assume that’s all there is to him. It doesn’t matter that he’s unbelievably kind, and fiercely loyal, and way smarter than he lets on, and all around the most genuine and good person Eddie’s ever fucking known. They decide with one snap judgment that he’s just a dumb, shallow pretty boy, and they treat him accordingly. It makes Eddie sick.
And, look. Eddie knows that Buck’s not some fucking damsel in distress, that he doesn’t need Eddie to swoop in and save him every time someone’s mean to him. He knows that Buck’s perfectly capable of standing up for himself.
The thing is, though, he never does. He just plasters on a smile and acts like nothing’s wrong. And it may be convincing enough to everyone else, but not to Eddie. He can see the way Buck shrinks in on himself like he’s trying to make himself smaller, like he thinks they’re right. Like he actually believes that he’s worthless and unremarkable.
So yes, sometimes Eddie steps in and sets them straight. He’s not sorry, either. Maybe he should be, because he’ll be the first to admit it’s pretty toxic alpha male behavior (something May has schooled him on in the past), but he isn’t. When someone underestimates Buck, he reacts the same way he does when someone underestimates Christopher; his entire body lights up with rage and the only thought in his mind is protecting him.
Buck gets hit on a lot — several times a day, by men and women alike — and it’s not like Eddie butts in and runs his mouth every single time. He couldn’t; it’d be a full time job, and he doesn’t have enough hours in the day as it is.
Most of the time, it’s fine. People are decent enough, and Buck makes polite conversation for a few minutes before letting them down easy and respectfully, because that’s the kind of guy he is. Usually, he tells them he’s still hung up on someone; Eddie doesn’t know who, because Abby is over and done and he’s pretty sure he’s moved on from Ali, too. But maybe he’s wrong, or maybe it’s just something Buck says to soften the blow.
Sometimes, though, people are pushy and entitled and absolute goddamn assholes, and Buck just takes it all like he thinks he deserves it. That’s when Eddie sees red, when it takes a significant effort to keep himself from throwing punches.
Tonight is one of those nights. They’d stopped at a bar after their shift, because Chris is staying at Abuela’s and they both could use the chance to unwind. Things are good — they’re sitting on the same side of the booth, shoulders brushing and knees knocking together as Buck makes him laugh harder than he has in a long time. It almost feels like a date, and for a few moments while Buck smiles at him in that way that makes him feel like he’s the only person in the universe, Eddie allows himself to pretend.
Buck goes to the bar to get them another round, and almost immediately, Eddie sees a girl follow, sidling right up next to Buck and shooting him a smile. Eddie gets a bad vibe from her right away, with the way she’s stalking him like prey, but he downs the rest of his beer and watches it play out.
Their table isn’t far from the bar, so Eddie can hear them as they make their introductions. Buck takes a step back, trying to put some space between them, but she just leans in closer, resting a hand on his arm like she’s staking a claim.
Buck is visibly uncomfortable, but he talks to her anyway, always so desperately craving approval from the people around him. He’s asking her questions about herself when she cuts him off suddenly.
“Look, no offense, sweetheart, but I didn’t come over here to talk. I chose you because you’re gorgeous and you seem like the perfect kind of guy to fuck and forget.”
She gives him a pointed look that’s probably supposed to be enticing, but really just looks predatory, and slides her hand down to Buck’s thigh. He looks like he wants to crawl out of his skin, but also like he’s seriously considering hooking up with her just so he doesn’t disappoint her, and Eddie is up and heading toward them before he even realizes it’s happening.
“Get your hands off of him,” he snaps, stepping between her and Buck. Buck looks surprised, but he curls a hand around Eddie’s hip protectively, and fuck, that’s as grounding as it is distracting.
“Is that really supposed to make him want you? Telling him how forgettable he is?” Eddie continues, because he’s not done with her yet. “If that’s the best you can do, it’s no wonder you’re so miserable. You should really work on your game, sweetheart.”
She’s looking at him incredulously, and Eddie can tell she’s about a second from stomping off, so he decides to wrap it up even though he could easily spend another solid hour ranting at her.
“And for the record, if you were lucky enough to actually get to know him, I promise, you’d never forget him. Now leave us alone, please, thanks.”
She huffs as she turns on her heel and walks away, and then it’s just him and Buck, who’s staring at him with wide eyes, like he can’t believe that actually happened.
Eddie takes one of the fresh beers from Buck and chugs it, suddenly feeling entirely too sober.
///
Eddie’s dealt with his fair share of girls (and guys) like that since he took on the self-appointed role of defending Buck, but he hates Taylor Kelly the most.
He hates the way she acts like they have some sort of connection when, as far as Eddie knows, she’s never bothered to have a real conversation with Buck.
He hates the way Buck’s nothing more than a booty call to her. She only ever reaches out annoyingly late at night, a lot of times when he’s already at Eddie’s, sprawled out on the couch with him as they watch a movie.
Most of all, he hates the way Buck actually goes. It’d be one thing if he wanted to — Eddie still wouldn’t like it, because he’s a jealous fuck, but Buck’s an adult and he can screw whoever he wants — but every time, without fail, he explicitly tells Eddie he’s really not into it. And then he goes anyway; he leaves Eddie and Christopher, leaves his home to run off to her like he thinks he doesn’t deserve any better.
They run into her one night while they’re on a call her station is covering. Eddie doesn’t realize she’s there until everything’s said and done, and it makes his already shitty mood that much worse. It’s been a long shift and all he wants to do is go home, kiss his kid, and go to sleep, but now he gets a front row seat to Taylor making his best friend feel used and insignificant.
He watches warily as she backs Buck against the news van and presses in close.
“Why don’t we get out of here?” she asks, batting her eyelashes at him.
Buck’s not having it tonight. He’s as tired as Eddie is, and he puts up more of a fight than he usually does with her.
“Sorry, I can’t. I have to go back to the station.”
Taylor just shrugs, undeterred. “Fine. Meet me at my place in an hour.”
Eddie’s staring daggers at her, going for proof that looks can, in fact, kill, but no such luck.
“I’m tired, Taylor,” Buck tells her with a sigh. “It’s been a hard day and I really just wanna go home.”
Taylor leans in to kiss him, like that will solve everything, and Eddie’s hands clench into fists of their own accord. Buck doesn’t reciprocate, but she’s more than enthusiastic enough for the both of them.
“Come on, Buck. You and I both know you don’t have anything waiting for you at home but an empty apartment. So why don’t you stick with me and do what you do best?” she asks, smiling sweetly at him.
Jesus, there are so many things wrong with that statement Eddie can’t see straight. He’s seething as he walks up to them, pulling Buck to the side and taking his place in front of Taylor.
“This may come as a shock to you, but believe it or not, Buck has better things to do than have subpar sex with you,” Eddie says, giving the same condescending smile right back to her. “Just because you’re pathetic and lonely doesn’t mean you have to drag him down with you. He’s better than that.”
He takes a breath, willing himself to stop shaking in anger, and looks to Buck. “Come home with me. You can hang out with Chris, I’ll make dinner,” he says.
Buck doesn’t seem mad in the slightest about Eddie blowing up the closest thing he’s had to a relationship in months, which Eddie takes as a victory.
“You’re gonna make dinner?” Buck asks skeptically, lips quirking into a smile as he raises a brow at Eddie.
Eddie rolls his eyes, but it’s fond. “Fine, I’ll order pizza.”
“Deal,” Buck agrees, grinning.
He follows Eddie back to the truck without so much as a second glance at Taylor.
///
The times the patronizing comments hurt Buck the most, though, are when they come from the squad.
Eddie knows they all love Buck and they don’t mean anything by it, but he hates watching Buck’s face fall when they crack a joke about his intelligence or his sexual escapades as Buck 1.0. More than that, he hates that they don’t even seem to notice when they upset him.
They’re all at the table eating lunch when Buck excitedly announces that their usual bar is having a Trivia Night tonight and invites them all to go. Everyone agrees easily, and then they start discussing who’s going to team up with who.
“You and me, Chim, what do you say? Some future brother bonding time?” Buck asks, nudging Chimney with his elbow.
“You know I love you, Buckaroo, but I also love winning. I’d be all over it if it was a modeling contest, though,” Chim teases. “Eddie, be my partner?”
Eddie glances at Buck and sees his enthusiasm disappear in a flash, staring dejectedly at his plate.
He takes a deep breath and swallows his rage, because this is his workplace and he can’t just go off like he does with strangers. He needs to be careful here.
“That’s a mistake. Buck’s a hell of a lot smarter than I am, especially with trivia,” he says, calm but firm. “I want that incredible brain of his on my team.”
Buck smiles at him, but it’s halfhearted, and a couple minutes later he excuses himself to take a nap in the bunks.
Eddie sighs, and as soon as Buck’s out of the room, he’s shooting a thoroughly pissed glare at Chim.
“You guys have got to stop making shitty comments like that about Buck,” he says, looking from Chim to Hen and back again. “You’re supposed to be his friends. How can you not see how much it bothers him?”
“What are you talking about?” Hen asks, voice full of genuine concern.
“People are constantly writing him off as just a pretty face with no substance. How do you think he feels when the people he loves most in the world joke about him being not smart enough, not good enough?”
“Shit,” Chimney sighs.
“We didn’t realize,” Hen echoes.
“Now you do,” Eddie says with a shrug. “So start treating him with the respect he deserves.”
They give Buck his space, but once he wanders back into the kitchen, Hen and Chim are all over him with apologies and hugs and promises that they love him and think the world of him.
Buck looks surprised, albeit pleasantly so, and even though he can’t know for sure, he still shoots a knowing look at Eddie like he knows exactly what happened.
///
Buck’s parents come to town when Maddie’s baby is born, and it takes all of five minutes in a room with them for Eddie to see exactly why Buck’s self-doubt and insecurities run as deep as they do.
They’re awful. For the most part, they ignore Buck entirely, but when they do acknowledge him, they treat him like a five-year-old and an inconvenience. Every word they direct at him is condescending and belittling and Eddie has never hated anyone as much as he hates the two of them.
Buck’s taking it in stride — at least, he’s trying to — but Eddie can see it’s getting to him. He keeps most of his attention on his niece, though, and Eddie would be lying if he said seeing Buck with a baby didn’t make his heart swell in his chest.
He’s cooing down at her and pulling silly faces as he talks about all the baby books he’s been reading since the second he found out Maddie was pregnant. Eddie gets caught up in a daydream about Buck dancing their own baby girl around their living room, kissing Eddie and Christopher as he goes, and he almost forgets his parents are even there.
Until they start running their stupid fucking mouths, that is.
His mom huffs a patronizing laugh and rolls her eyes. “I don’t think anyone should take parenting advice from you, Evan. You’re practically still a child yourself.”
Buck, who’s been an unbelievably good sport thus far, cracks at that. He visibly deflates, slumping his shoulders and biting his lip like he’s trying not to cry. Eddie feels the anger boiling up inside of him.
“Buck’s actually amazing with kids,” he cuts in, using every ounce of energy he has trying to be respectful. “My son loves him almost as much as he loves me. Probably more, actually.”
“That’s because he fits right in with him. He’s like a best friend, not a parent,” his mom says, waving a hand like she’s dismissing him.
“He’s both,” Eddie argues fiercely. “That’s what makes him so good at it. There’s no one else I’d rather have as a father to my kid.”
He doesn’t look at Buck. That was a little too honest, and he’s afraid of what he’ll find if he does.
“So you two are playing house, then?” Buck’s dad raises a brow and looks to Eddie. “Careful, spend enough time with him and you’ll realize he’s more effort than he’s worth.”
The words echo in Eddie’s head on a loop, along with his own you’re exhausting, and he’s suddenly filled with a fury stronger than anything he’s ever known.
It’s all-consuming. He can’t rein it in, and honestly, he doesn’t want to. He hates them for what they’ve put Buck through, and all he can think about is making them suffer even a fraction as much as he has because of them.
It’s not even a conscious decision, really; it’s pure instinct as he crosses the room and punches Buck’s dad with everything he has.
It feels unbelievably satisfying while he’s doing it, but as soon as it’s over, the guilt and shame rushes in. He just hit Buck’s father in front of his newborn grandson, for god’s sake, what the fuck is wrong with him?
“Sorry,” Eddie says, eyes fixed firmly on the floor. “I’m so sorry, Maddie, I’m gonna go.”
He flees so fast it’s almost laughable. He’s already halfway down the hall when he hears Maddie’s door open and Buck calls out “Eddie, wait.”
Eddie wants to ignore him and keep running, but he can never deny Buck anything. He turns back to him with wide eyes.
“I’m so sorry, Buck,” he says, and he’s never meant anything more in his life. “That was so inappropriate, and I have no excuse for it. Fuck, I’m sorry.”
“I’m not mad, Eds. I’ve wanted to do that my whole life,” Buck says with a careful laugh.
He reaches a hand out, and Eddie grabs it like a lifeline. He doesn’t know what to say.
“No one’s ever stood up for me like that before,” Buck continues quietly, almost reverent. “You always do, though. Every time, no matter who it is.”
“Of course I do, Buck. I always will,” Eddie tells him easily. “You’re so much more than people give you credit for. I probably should’ve said that to you sooner, but it’s true.”
“You said it in your own way. Throwing down with anyone that fucks with me is how you show love, apparently,” Buck says, chuckling as he takes a step closer to Eddie.
“You know I’m not good with words,” Eddie says with a sheepish smile.
Buck just shrugs. “I don’t mind. I love you anyway.”
“You do?” Eddie asks, hope blooming in his chest.
“Obviously, Eddie. And people think I’m the dumb one,” Buck teases.
Eddie grins, amazed at the fact that Buck can actually joke about it now. That’s gotta be progress, right?
“Yeah, whatever, smartass. Why don’t you shut up and kiss me now?”
“Bossy,” Buck quips, but he does it anyway.

Can You See The Lights? ☾ Elijah Mikaelson
You can only see color in the places where your soulmate has been/touched
It wasn’t weird. Right? Your soulmate just...traveled a lot. You had seldom been somewhere that said soulmate hadn’t already been to. And that was saying something. You had been a study abroad student for three years and everywhere you went across Europe was painted in color. Actually, you couldn’t remember a place that was still in black and white.
Maybe it was a little weird.
You decided that you were going to stay stateside for a while. You had just graduated with a Bachelors in [major], and wanted to take some free time before figuring out the rest of your life. New Orleans was supposed to be fun, right?
****
[1st person POV]
After the longest drive of my life, I decided I needed a drink. I had already stopped at my hotel and unpacked before starting to walk in a random direction, hoping for the best. I was amazed by the colors of everything around. I often sympathize for those who don’t get to see colors as often as I do.
“Rousseau’s.” I read to myself, noticing the vintage looking sign hanging overhead. I shoved the door open and walked in, expecting the rude crowd that was associated with typical bars. That wasn’t the case with this “Rousseau’s” place. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxed and the patrons were mostly spread around. I confidently walked myself to the bar itself and sat down. A pretty blonde soon came over, the name tag on her shirt reading ‘Cami’.
“What can I get ya?” She asked politely.
“Uh...just [drink] please.” I ordered, smiling at her.
“I haven’t seen you before. You either just found this place, which is unlikely, or you just got here.” Cami said, making conversation as she made my drink.
“I’m just here for a little while. I recently graduated and figured I owed myself a vacation. I’m [y/n].” I said, introducing myself as she handed me my now finished drink. She chuckled.
“Well, New Orleans is definitely the place to vacation. Are you here alone?”
“Yep, just me. That’s pretty much how it’s always been.” I trailed off as I awkwardly sipped my drink.
“Just be careful out there. It’s not really safe around here at night. Especially for strangers.” Cami warned me before she left to the other end to serve someone else.
I sat quietly, sipping my drink and people watching, for the next few minutes. I noticed a few of the patrons watching me with less than kind looks in their eyes, and I got the feeling that Cami was more serious than she let on. I was about to leave when the door opened again and two more people walked in. I just happened to over hear a snippet of their conversation and what I did, was concerning.
“Believe me brother. It is no “fluke”; I haven’t experience colors like these in a millennium. My soulmate is here.” I quickly spun my bar stool back around, hoping I hadn’t been noticed. A millennium? Who counts time like that?
“Hey, [y/n], you alright? You look a little sick.” I heard someone say gently. I looked up and made eye contact with Cami. I slowly nodded my head.
“I think I just need some water and a really long nap.” I told her.
“Well now, Camille, let’s not make the poor girl wait. Get her the water before she passes out. She looks positively green.” I jerked up to see the ‘Brother’ that had been previously referred to by the ‘Millennium’ counter. Are you as confused as me? Good, now you know a fraction of how I was feeling. “Are you just going to stare at me? Or would you like to introduce yourself?”
“I-um. That was incredibly rude.” I said, offended. “What makes you think I was just staring at you anyway? Or that I want to introduce myself? It’s the 21st century, why don’t you go first. With all the room in this bar, you still chose the stool next to me. Why is that?”
“Feisty. I’m Klaus. And it just so happens that you are in my stool.” He introduced, smirking at me.
Before I had time to smart off again, another voice replied, making me shudder. “Now, Brother, why don’t you leave the poor girl alone.” Klaus chuckled and shook his head.
“Very well. I will see you some other time, [y/n]. Goodbye, Cami.” He waved shortly as he walked back over to a table in the corner. I finally turned to look at my ‘savior’.
“I really didn’t need help. I’ve dealt with plenty of men worse than him.” I said, crossing my arms over my chest.
He chuckled as he sat on the opposite side his brother had been. “Trust me, Love. My brother was simply in a good mood. My name is Elijah.” He introduced, offering his hand to me. I took the chance to look him over; a 3-piece tailored suit complete with handkerchief, perfectly groomed hair, and just the hint of a smile on the corner of his mouth.
I nodded my head. “And I’m so over tonight.” I told him, a tight smile on my face, as I started to get up. “Goodnight, Cami. I’ll see you around!” I called to her, receiving a small wave in return.
“Wait. At least let me walk you home. It’s not safe here after dark.” Elijah said, jumping up after me. I hesitated, looking between him and the door. I didn’t trust him, but I didn’t quite know this place like I hoped to.
“Please, [y/n]. It’ll make me feel better. It’s not everyday a stranger comes in here that I like. And, truthfully, Elijah isn’t a bad guy.” Cami said, quickly getting involved in the situation. I sighed and looked towards the door again.
“Fine. Only this once and only because you asked.” I told her. She smiled and thanked me. I turned towards Elijah and motioned my arm towards the door for him to lead the way. He smiled kindly at me but simply held the door for me. I huffed and walked out into the quickly cooling night.
“So, [y/n], what brings you to New Orleans?” Elijah asked, keeping his gaze forwards. I glanced at him before diverting my own gaze in the same direction.
“Freedom, I suppose. And you?” I returned, my hands stuffed in my pockets. The night air was slowly permeating through my thin outer shirt.
“A responsibility to my brother, I suppose.” A smirk grew across his face as he turned my answer around on me. I crossed my arms and faced away from him. He chuckled at my childish actions. “I believe you would get along well with my dear sister. She has never taken well to teasing, either.”
“Yeah, well...whatever.” I failed to come up with a reply and instead stuck my tongue out at him. We continued in a comfortable silence from there for several minutes. I soon began to shiver. Before I knew it, a large jacket was begin draped over my shoulders. I looked up into Elijiah’s eyes and something felt...different.
“It’s you.” He murmured, staring at me in awe.
“Huh?” I asked, cuddling into the insanely oversized, amazingly comfortable coat adorning my frame. He continued to just stare at me, causing me to squirm under his gaze. “Okay, look, this is getting uncomfortable. Yes, I am me. I’m not sure what this whole, “you”, business is about but -”. Before I could finish my rant, Elijah grabbed the collar of his jacket and pulled me into a kiss. Then I understood what he meant.
“You’re my soulmate.”
”Wait a minute, how did your brother know my name?"

Since Forever ☾ Loki Laufeyson
"Lady [y/n]? I am very sorry to disturb you." I heard behind me. I placed my book on my windowsill and turned to face the person. I smiled. "Nonsense Lord Thor, you did not disturb me," I told him. He returned the smile and stepped into my room. "What do you need?" I asked him politely. He sighed. "It's my brother Loki again. Have you seen him? He escaped." He asked me. I tilted my head and furrowed my eyebrows. "No. I have not seen him in...quite some time." I told him truthfully. He nodded his head. "I understand. Farewell maiden."He told me before walking back out. I ran to the door and watched him disappear around the corner. I smirked and walked back into my room, laying down on my bed. "I owe you one, [y/n]. I just...cannot stand to be so isolated." Loki sighed, suddenly appearing on my bed beside me. I flinched. He turned his head towards me, a smirk planted on his face. I just laughed and rolled my eyes. "Since when did you become so skittish Ms. I'm-Not-Scared-Of-Anything?" Loki teased me. I hesitated before simply rolling onto him and capturing him in a hug.   "When your brother returned with the news that you were supposedly dead." I murmured into his chest. I heard him sigh before wrapping his arms around my back. "I could never leave you. Remember our promise?" He spoke into my ear. I smiled at the memory.
        *Flashback*
"LOKI! WAIT FOR ME!" A young me yelled, chasing after my best friend. He chuckled and turned the corner, making me pump my small legs even faster. I soon turned the same corner and stopped. He was nowhere to be seen. "L-Loki...? Where are you?" I called out. Tears began streaming down my face as I received no answer.
"Are you crying?" Someone asked. I turned to see a girl around my age looking at me.
"Y-Yes!" I sobbed. She looked me over, rolled her eyes, and pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my small arms around her and cried into her shoulder. A few seconds later we pulled apart and I wiped my eyes. "I'm sorry. My names [y/n]." I told her, holding my hand out.
"Sif." She stated simply as we shook. "Why don't you come and dine with me tonight?" She suggested, pulling me towards the castle. I didn't exactly have an option or a chance to tell her that I always dine in the castle. Which lead me to wonder why I had never seen her. My question was answered as she dragged me to the opposite end of where I usually sat.
"Sif. Who is this?" A woman asked.
"[y/n]. She's coming to eat with us tonight, Ma." Sif said in a way that offered no room for argument. Had I talked to my mother like that, I would've been lucky to be missing a tooth. I looked at the other end of the table to see my father on one side of King Odin and Prince Thor on the other. There was an empty chair between Princes Thor and Loki that was reserved for me. My father looked around and noticed the lack of me before saying something to Loki that caused him to gulp. King Odin then stood up and everyone went silent.
"Do not worry my people. I simply need to know where young Maiden [y/n] is. Has anyone seen her since the youngest prince lost her?" He asked, glaring at Loki with his one good eye. Loki slunk down in his seat. I stood up in my chair, causing everyone to look at me.
"I am here, your Majesty. Although I would rather stay here for the night if you don't mind?" I requested politely. He smiled and nodded at me, sitting back down. I sat down too and everyone continued eating.
         *LATER*
"[y/n]! Where'd you go?!" I heard yelled after me. I ignored HIM and continued walking. "[y/n]? [y/n]! [Y/N]!" He finally yelled, grabbing my arm.
"What Loki?!" I screamed, yanking my arm away. He furrowed his brow, reaching his hand towards my face. He wiped under my eye.
"Are....are you crying?" He asked.
"Why do you care?! You left me! I was alone and scared and-and alone! How could you!" I screamed at him. Loki just stared at me a moment before surprising me by pulling me into a huge hug.
"I'm so sorry. I never meant to scare you. I'll never leave you alone again. I promise." He whispered in my ear.
        *End Flashback*
I snuggled further into his chest and inhaled his scent. Then I grimaced.
"You smell like a prisoner that's been locked in isolation without a proper shower," I told him. He glared at me. I just grinned right back at him. "Go take a shower then we'll do something," I told him, rolling off him and back onto the bed.
"Fine." He grumbled standing up. He walked halfway to my washroom before stopping.
"Loki? What's wrong?" I asked. He suddenly turned and sprinted back towards me. He grabbed my chin and captured my lips with his own. I was shocked but my lips soon began to move against his. We then broke apart, huge smiles on both our faces. "Now go get cleaned up," I whispered, shoving him. He chuckled but finally did as I said. I fell backward on my bed, grinned uncontrollably.

Night In Armor ☾ Nightcrawler
I was walking down an alleyway, trying to stay as quiet and unnoticed as possible. I was new here and didn't really know my way around. I was just hoping I wouldn't get jumped. When do things ever work out for me though? Never. Like, once in 8th grade we had partners in science class for this month-long project we were doing. The one person I didn't want to get partnered with, Amy, was OF COURSE who the teacher put me with. Anyways, nothing goes how I hope. "Ehehehe what's a purdy girl like yourself doin' in these parts all by her lonesome. And at night? That's mighty dangerous." I heard someone draw behind me. I gulped and turned around. In front of me stood a tall, obviously drunk man. He had a half drank bottle of whiskey in one hand and a small knife in the other. I watched him, trying to think of something I could do to throw him off so I could escape. Then, it hit me. "I'm not alone," I told him, sounding braver than I felt. He just laughed and glanced around me. "Well, I certainly don't see anyone. Maybe you should get your eyes checked, Darlin'." He said. I narrowed my eyes and glared at him. I was about to smart him off when a deeply accented voice cut me off. "She's with me." They said. I couldn't see whoever it was because the drunkard was in my way. The drunk just laughed and turned back towards me. "I said..." The other man started, grabbing the drunkies arm and turning him around. "She's. With. Me." He snarled. I don't know what it was but something scared the drunk so much that he ran away, stumbling and glancing back multiple times. I turned to thank my savior, but he was already walking away. "Wait!" I called, running after him. He just ignored me and kept walking. I huffed and crossed my arms. "Who saves someone then runs off before letting that someone thank them!?" I yelled. That made him stop. He chuckled dryly. "You would not want to thank me." He said, hanging his head. "Dude, you just saved my life. Why wouldn't I want to thank you?" I asked rhetorically. He didn't answer me. When I thought he was, like, dead or asleep standing up or something, he turned around. "I'm a monster." He whispered, looking up at me. I gasped. His eyes were the most stunning, shining yellow I had ever seen. His skin was a blue color and his hair was an amazing shade of indigo. "I told you," he whispered again, turning to leave. "No!" I yelled, grabbing his sleeve to stop him from leaving. He yanked his arm away and turned to me, shocked. "I-I'm sorry...I didn't mean to...I just.....thank you." I stuttered. I watched as a small smile spread across his face. "Will you walk me home?" I asked him. He nodded and gently grabbed my hand. I blushed but tried to ignore it and began walking out of the alley and towards my house. We talked as we walked, about any and everything. "Okay, so I know more about the cat you had when you were three than about you. Like, for example, your name is....." I trailed off, waiting for him to fill in the blank. He hesitated. "Kurt. " He told me. "But, uh, most people call me Nightcrawler." "I'm [y/n]. Nice to meet you." I said, grinning at him. He chuckled and shook his head. "The pleasure's mine." He told me. I giggled and blushed again. Sadly, we then arrived at my apartment building. I sighed and looked up. "This is my stop," I told him, turning to face him. He held both my hands and smiled at me. "We should do this again sometime. I mean walking together. Hanging out. Not, ya know, having to save me from drunks." I said, grinning. "Yes. We should." He agreed.

Pranking ☾ Loki Laufeyson
"[y/n], do you have one of my books?" I heard someone ask behind me. I quickly closed the book and shoved it under a cushion on the couch I was sitting on. "Nope!" I answered a bit too quickly. Loki chuckled and walked around in front of me. He smirked as he leaned over me, one arm on each side of me. He slowly leaned in and reached his hand under the cushion. He raised an eyebrow as he pulled the book out. "Really? You don't have one?" He asked, smirking. I returned the smirk, shaking my head. "I don't have one; I have three," I said cheekily. Loki chuckled and stood up. He looked at the title and raised an eyebrow again. "You realize this is a book of prank spells?" He asked. I nodded, grinning from ear-to-ear. "Well then, let's do some pranking." He suggested an evil glint in his eye. I nodded, my grin never leaving my face.           *Later* "You know the plan, correct?" Loki asked. I smirked and nodded. I looked around the room and made sure everything was perfect. I glanced at him and we shared a nod. I grinned and yelled, "Tony! Steve! Thor! Clint! Help!" The four men ran into the room, hitting the tripwire. There was a groan as the large magically suspended tub of maple sugar, raw eggs, and glue dumped onto the surprised Avengers. “[y/n]! Loki! Do you know how long it took me to do my hair this morning?! This is never going to come out!" Tony yelled, freaking out. I giggled and glanced at Loki, who was also doubled over with silent laughter. "Lady [y/n]!" I heard Thor yell. He appeared right beside our hiding places, causing me to squeal and jump back. "Quick!" Loki grabbed my hand and transported us to Jotunheim. I looked at my surroundings.   Sparkling icicles hung everywhere and the snow glittered like Edward Cullen in the sun. The stars are what took my breath away though. "Wow." I gawked, breathlessly. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Loki spoke, keeping his gaze on me. "Yeah." I looked back at him. All of a sudden a thick, quilted blanket was on the ground. Loki tugged my hand a bit then we both sat down. He pulled me so my head was on his chest. I squeezed his hand a little tighter, which he returned. I began to doze off with each thump of his heart. "I love you, [y/n]," Loki whispered into my hair before placing a kiss to my head. "I...love you...too." With those last whispered words, I fell into a warm, peaceful slumber.

Best Day Of My Life ☾ Pippin Took
"Pip! If you don't stop, I'm gonna murder you!" I yelled at my over-excited boyfriend.
"But [y/n]! I can't!" He complained.
We were currently getting ready to leave, headed to Merry's birthday party. We were already half an hour late because someone *cough* Pippin *cough* had spilled wine all over his shirt. He had then spent 20 minutes trying to pick a new one.
I sighed. "Okay. Let's go." I said, straightening my dress one last time.
"Sweetheart. You look amazing."Pippin said, coming up behind me and hugging me. He laid his head on my shoulder and I felt him grin. I smiled and leaned my head on his. We stood that way for several minutes.
"Come on Pippin. We've gotta get to Merry's party. I said, pulling away from him.
He groaned but walked to the door. "My lady." He said, bowing and opening the door for me. I giggled and curtsied, walking out. Pippin ran to catch up to me. He laced our fingers together as we started the short walk to Merry's house.        *Later* Merry opened the door and ushered us in.
"Leave it to Pippin to be late to his best friends birthday party!" Frodo exclaimed, looking like he'd already had one too many to drink. I chuckled, nodding my head in agreement.
"At least I wasn't late to my own party!" Pip yelled, defending himself. I rolled my eyes and turned to Merry, handing him a small, wrapped box.
"I picked it out myself!" Pippin told Merry, claiming my work as his own. Pippin leaned in and whispered in my ear. "What did you get him?" He asked me. I laughed at him, shaking my head.
"You'll find out when he does," I said, smirking.
"[y/n]!" He whined. "Tell me!" I shook my head 'no' and made a gesture like I was locking my lips and throwing the key. "[y/n]![y/n]!" He yelled as I started walking away. I just ignored him and continued on my way.       *End of Party* Pippin and I had started on our way home, walking in a comfortable silence. Suddenly, Pippin grabbed my hand and stopped walking.
"Pip, is something wrong?" I asked, tilting my head to the side in confusion.
"N-No it's just.." He stuttered, fumbling in his pocket for something. He pulled a small box out of his coat pocket as he knelt down. I gasped, covering my mouth with my hands.
"Pip," I whispered as tears of happiness sprung to my eyes.
He smiled up at me, opening the box to reveal a simple but beautiful diamond ring. "[y/n], I've known since the moment I first laid eyes on you, that I loved you. When you first walked by me, I fell head-over-heels for you. You're the most amazing woman any man could ask for. I-I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to fall asleep beside you every night and wake up to your beautiful, sleepy face every morning. Will you please do me the great honor of marrying me?" He said, his eyes never once leaving mine. I shook my head 'yes', too happy to speak. Pippin grinned, quickly standing up and pulling me into a kiss. I pulled back, a never-ending smile etched on my face.
"I love you," I whispered, resting my forehead on his.
"I love you, too." He whispered back, slipping the ring on my finger. I gave Pip another quick kiss before pulling my hand up to admire my ring.
"Let's go home. I'm exhausted." I giggled, grabbing his hand. He laughed but nodded, starting toward our house. I rolled my eyes and started running, dragging Pippin with me.

A Chat With The King ☾ Thranduil
"[y/n] dear. King Thranduil would like to see you." One of my closest friends, Tauriel, told me. I sighed, stuck my knife in my boot, and walked to the castle. "You wanted to see me, my king?" I asked, bowing, as I walked into the throne room. "Yes. Might I ask what you have been doing?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "W-What do you mean?" I stuttered, avoiding his eye. "You are to report to me everyday. I appointed you because I thought you would do your job." He chastised. "I-I'm so-sorry my ki-ing," I muttered, trying to stay composed. I heard Thranduil sigh and walk closer to me. "Look at me. Please." He whispered, gently raising my chin. I looked into his beautiful eyes, tears brimming my own. His gaze softened. “[y/n]. My sweet." He murmured. He ran his thumb across my cheek. I leaned into his touch, closing my eyes. "My dear." He whispered. I opened my eyes to see a single tear running down his flawless cheek. I reached up and and wiped it off, not realizing what I had done. I gasped and jerked my hand away. "M-My king. I-I am so sorry!" I hastily apologized. Thranduil smiled and grabbed my wrist. He raised my hand to his lips, kissing each finger. "Do not apologize my dear. It is okay." He said gently. I smiled, rubbing my thumb across his lips. He sighed and leaned into me. "You are so beautiful." He whispered. I felt my cheeks heating up. I giggled and ducked my head. Thranduil chuckled and raised my chin. A small grin slipped onto my face and I had a streak of bravery as I reached up and laid my hand on his cheek. He whimpered and leaned into me again. "C-Can I kiss you?" I whispered. Instead of answering, Thranduil simply grabbed my face and attached our lips. I melted into his touch, our lips moving in sync perfectly. We pulled apart, our foreheads pressed together. "You do not understand how long I have waited for that." He muttered. I giggled and pulled away from him. "What is wrong?" He immediately asked, worry showing on his flawless face. "Nothing my king. I must simply get back to work. I will return soon." I told him, starting to leave. I got to the door and glanced back. Thranduil was watching me. When I stopped, a light blush covered his porcelain cheeks. He cleared his throat and stuttered, trying to say something. I giggled and left.         *Later* I walked out of the castle, headed nowhere in particular. "[y/n]!" I hard someone yell. I turned and saw Tauriel jogging toward me. "What happened in there?" She asked. I felt my cheeks heat up, remembering the events that had just taken place. "N-Nothing. We just, uh, talked." I stammered, my cheeks burning. Tauriel gasped. "You...and....the king?" She whisper-yelled. "Sh!" I yelled, shoving my hand over her mouth. "We'll talk later." I whispered, looking around to make sure no one was watching. She grinned, nodded her head, winked, and walked away.

Sweet Side ☾ Thorin Oakenshield
"[y/n] dear! Where are you?" Thorin yelled, roaming through his palace trying to find his wife.
"Over here, love." The [species] lady called. She motioned her husband over. He smiled and jogged to her.
"What are you doing?" He asked her sweetly.
"Shh! Just watch." She silenced, pointing down from the walkway they were on. Thorin looked over the side to see [y/n] best friend, [best friend], and her fiancée, Legolas, playing with several dwarf children. Thorin looked at his wife to see her face scrunched up in thought.
"What's on your mind?" He asked her.
"Doyouwantchildren?" She blurted, running her words together.
Thorin chuckled. "Slow down dear!"
[y/n] sighed and looked at him. "Do you want children?" She muttered.
"Of course. I've told you that." He said, confused.
"When do you want them?" She asked, fear in her eyes.
"Whenever you're ready. Why?" He said, placing his hands on her shoulders. She smiled and leaned up, placing her lips on his. Thorin moved his left hand to rest on her cheek, deepening the kiss. They heard wolf whistles and broke apart, blushing. [y/n] looked down to see Kili, Fili, and Legolas smirking. She watched as [best friend] slapped Legolas' arm and said something to him. He cut her off by pulling her in for a kiss. They pulled apart as the brothers whistled again. [best friend] hid her face in Legolas' chest, blushing. [y/n] laughed at her bashful friend.
             *Later*
Thorin was currently looking for his wife (again). They had parted when his cousin, Dáin Ironfoot, had arrived. Thorin had shown him to one of the many guestrooms. "Where is she?" He muttered to himself. He saw [best friend] passing and stopped her. "Have you seen [y/n]?" He asked.
She paused a moment before saying, "I'm sorry. I have not seen her since earlier." Thorin thanked her and continued on his way to the throne room. He stopped in his tracks as he heard [y/n]'s voice.
"Dáin. Stop it." She said, distress in her voice. Thorin walked in the throne room to see his cousin had his wife pinned against the wall. He watched in horror as Dáin tried forcing a kiss on [y/n]'s lips.
"Dáin! What the hell are you doing with my wife?!" Thorin yelled, yanking his cousin back. [y/n] stepped forward to put a hand on his shoulder. “Go. I'll meet you in our chamber." He growled. [y/n] sighed, but did as he said. She paced the room, anxiously waiting for Thorin's return. Suddenly, the door slammed open and Thorin stomped in, cursing in dwarvish.
"Th-Thorin. What happen-EEK!" [y/n] started to say, before being thrown into the bed by Thorin. "What are you doing?" [y/n] giggled as Thorin softly rubbed her cheek. He smiled, leaning down and kissing her sweetly.
"I love you." He whispered, rubbing his hand up her thigh. They continued kissing as he ran his hand under her shirt and up her side.
"Thorin. No." She muttered, pulling out of the kiss.
"What's wrong? Did I do something?" He asked worried, immediately pulling away. [y/n] chuckled.
"It's not you." She said, smiling at her husband. He frowned and looked at her confused. "I, uh, I'm, I'm... pregnant." She stuttered, whispering the last word.
"W-What?" Thorin asked, a slight glimmer in his eyes.
"I'm pregnant," [y/n] repeated, smiling at him. Thorin smiled from ear-to-ear and peppered kisses all over [y/n]'s face. "Stop! That tickles!" She cried, laughing. Thorin looked her in the eyes, unable to stop smiling.
"I love you." He whispered.
"I love you too." She replied, her voice as low as his. He plopped down on the bed beside her. She moved over to lay her head on his chest. Thorin wrapped his arms around her, gently laying his hands in her stomach. [y/n] covered his hands with her own. That's the way they fell asleep, huge smiles present on both their faces.
