Hot take but D&D having all the rules for combat and next to nothing for social interaction is good actually. The dice exist to simulate challenges: I roll dice because I can't actually investigate this library or punch a skeleton in the face, but I *can* talk. No simulation required. To me, discerning a character's values, appealing to those values, leveraging information, building a relationship- doing that with words is gameplay, it's the point of a "role-playing game". Codifying that in numbers and dice would only get in my way.

I kind of love it when websites both display relative timestamps for an unreasonably long span of time before switching to absolute timestamps and use unreasonable units for the span in question. "This post was made 37 weeks ago" under what conceivable circumstance is this a useful way to communicate that?
