plus!!! the whole premise of the series is to go over that feeling you get when you know you’re somewhere you don’t belong but you have no other choice but to stay.

it’s also (and maybe this is a bit of a spoiler) supposed to be a representation of the relationships i’ve seen within my own family. it’s a mirror of knowing that you were never supposed to be born to begin with and still having to live day to day. it’s that feeling when you know your parents are so incompatible and toxic together that they should have split up years ago, but they’re forced together by their kids—you.

it’s that inconsolable feeling of pressure to make something of yourself that they can be proud of to make up for the fact that you were born and it’s that overwhelming feeling of guilt for all the sacrifices done unto your parents by you, because of you.

(although deep down you know none of it is your fault, the guilt and pressure will always weigh heavy)

mc is trying to make a name for herself in a world that she should have been born into. she’s trying find solace and peace in a world that never had space for her. it’s not about how things are supposed to be—nothing is ever how it’s supposed to be—it’s about trying to be okay with something that feels so wrong.

Reading my own fanfiction is basically just a rollercoaster of emotional whiplash.

20% of the time: “Hold on. I wrote this? This is fire. This is emotionally devastating in the best way. This scene is dripping with tension. I’m a literary perfectionist. Someone give me a book deal.”

80% of the time: “Straight to jail. Immediate prison. Why is everyone’s breath hitching?. I used the word ‘gaze’ three times in one paragraph like I was possessed. Did I think 'his eyes darkened' was profound? Why is everyone clenching their jaws? Why is someone whispering 'their name like a prayer' again?? No one talks like this. What is this dialogue. Why are there so many weird metaphors and em-dashes…”

she’s in between nanami and satoru i’d say. she’s still a first grade as she’s still getting a hold on limitless and six eyes — not to mention the trial and error that comes with making something that “belongs” to someone else your own — but she’s justtttt on the cusp of special grade.

though her and satoru have their moments where he just doesn’t understand why she can’t just … copy how he uses the exact same techniques so she can be a special grade.

and yn doesn’t want the easy way and doesn’t want to just copy her father. she wants to become her own person and wield six eyes and limitless in her own unique way.

so it’s kind of like this back and forth between the two. satoru wants her to copy him, not out of ego and malicious intent by any means, but because he thinks of himself and his journey to where he is now as yn’s guide to becoming someone bigger and better and stronger—kind of like a “see where i messed up and see where i lost so you don’t have to mess up in those same ways and you can become even greater than i am.”

it’s a sweet sentiment that every parent would do/does for their kid but, ultimately, life is also about forging your own path and making and learning from your own mistakes. yes, you have your parents’ mistakes to learn from, but one of the best ways to learn how to get up is to fall.

that’s the biggest thing between the two that causes so much tension and stress. satoru just wants to coddle and protect and shelter yn from anything and everything because she’s basically all he has left, whereas yn wants to go out and explore and fight and get hurt and learn from the hurt to become someone different from her father.

everyone expects her to BE satoru. no one’s asking who she wants to be. not even her own father.

and it’s driving her away.

Can you give us some spoilers? Who is the mother of Y/N in Gojo? Is she just a random woman or Gojo's arranged marriage clan wife? Is her mom still in the picture? Would she feel jealous about the way Gojo treats Megumi and Yuta? Or would she feel that she's a disappointment to her father?

yes i can!

yn’s mother is basically an OC i added into the story i won’t tell you her name or her part in the story, but it’s a mirror of my own relationship with my mother. Gojo first meets yn’s mother during high school when the new first years (nanami and haibara) are introduced, she’s part of their class and the story continues from there.

i won’t tell you how she feels about megumi and his relationship with gojo because that’s what chapter two goes into—yn’s relationship with megumi and tsumiki. and honestly, i don’t see yuta playing too big of a part in the story, he might make appearances here and there but he’s not a major part (not in the way itadori will be)
