This actually made me laugh so hard I scared my cat, thanks for that!
I’m blocked and all my usual tricks aren’t working, so I thought I’d see what Writblr had to say.
So, instead of the advice we all hear every day, what is everyone’s most unhinged writing advice?

Reblogging this just because it was fun and I’m curious if I’ll get even more unhinged answer

Some of your books make it seems like you believe in actual literal magic, do you? ()
I can write down a few words and make people thousands of miles away, whom I have never met and will never meet, laugh tears of joy and cry tears of true sorrow for people who do not exist and have never existed and never will exist. If that isn't actual literal magic I don't know what is.

Normalize going into people’s ask boxes and ask them random ass questions.
Tumblr used to be so much fun with all the asks (anonymous or otherwise), and we need to bring those back, especially now that we finally have a half-decent blocking feature in place.
Ask people things! Message them! Don’t let tumblr inbox die! It’s one of the features that made tumblr tumblr.

I made a sideblog for fanfiction!
It'll be very different from the stuff I usually post here, but if you're curious anyway, you can find it at @indecisivefic

I forgot how lonely it is to write original fiction.
Where are the kudos? The subscriptions? The comments? The people cheerleading me chapter to chapter? Where are the kind words and compliments and reassurances that what I'm writing isn't complete crap? Where are the unhinged emojis? The asks on Tumblr? Where are my mutuals in my dms apologizing for not reading the latest chapter right away (side note, you know you don't have to apologize at all, right??). Where is the fanart? Where are the recs?
Where is my motivation to keep going?
It's something I've been thinking about a lot, actually, lately. How the experience of writing fanfic is so unique. How you already have an audience, willing and waiting and captive. And that's really it, isn't it? You have an audience. It's almost performative, writing fanfic. It's being on a stage, a one-person show (or two, if you do it with a friend); it's getting live reactions to your performance, it's feeding off the energy of the crowd and informing it back in a feedback loop; it's improvised, sometimes, in almost-real-time. It's building something that you couldn't have built by yourself. A thing that takes on a life of its own.
It's an experience you can't get writing original fiction, and, honestly, not having it is making it hard to write something original at all.

no excuses writing meme, askbox version
drop one of these bad boys in my askbox and i will post, without editing
FIRST — the first two sentences of my current project
LAST — the most recently written two sentences of my current project
NEXT — the next line. meaning i will finish the sentence I’m on and write a new one, which you’ll get.
[insert prompt here] — you post a prompt, and i’ll write three sentences based on that prompt, set in the same time/setting as my current project
WHAT IF — i will pick an important choice or event in my current project and write three sentences (or more?) about if it’d gone done differently
THE END — i’ll make up an ending, or post the ending if i’ve written it
BEFORE THE BEGINNING — three sentences (or more) about something that happened before the plot of my current project
POV — something that’s already happened, retold from another character’s perspective
feel free to specify a specific project, if i have more than one, or a fandom*, if you don’t know what i’m working on.

Hey, it's cool if you're not interested, but if you're interested in checking out some cosmic horror about a teenage boy being groomed by a cult to act as a vessel for an eldrich god, even though said "god" wants nothing to do with this, then you may be interested in my horror WIP, "Free Us". Admittedly my posts about it are spacey, but I love talking about it, so I'll gladly answer any questions you have!
2024 WIP SEARCHING
Howdy everyone! One of my goals for 2024 is to search for more wips to interact with, both with my mutuals and people who I'm not currently following!
I tend to like fantasy, soft sci-fi and dystopia, but I am looking to also branch out more into other genres, especially hard sci-fi and horror.
If you have any wips you'd like me to check out (or update me on bc i'll admit I haven't been the best on keeping up with my mutual's wips), please reblog this with links, tags, or any info you want to share about it!

Hello there! You've been visited by the random question fairy! ~ ☆
What is a defining part of your character's backstory? Why does this affect your character so much? What does your character think about this facet of their backstory?
This was hard to come up with an answer for, but I think I've come up with the answer.
For both Kane and Jules, the most defining moment of their lives was when their parents died and they were taken into Professor James' custody.
For Kane, it was the day he not only became an orphan, but also the day the therapy he'd been receiving shifted, bringing pain instead of relief and beginning the decline of both his physical and mental health.
For Jules, she also became an orphan, but in a way she also became a mother. This was when she started having to do everything she could to protect Kane, to make sure he would survive the torment he endured every day.
Both of them were children. They never wanted this to happen. But Kane was born with his mind connected to a realm of creatures beyond mortal understanding, and that made him a target for the cults that wished to summon them. And as his twin sister, Jules was dragged in too. They never wanted this... But it was inevitable from the moment they were born. And they hate it more than they could ever express.

someone: hey I noticed this thing you did in your writing!
me, kicking my feet up flirtatiously: oh??? do you want to hear my thoughts on why I did that? do you want a play-by-play of the language choices in every related sentence? do you want an exhaustive breakdown of The Themes???
