Story Time about Tarot!!

So about a month ago or so, I received abrupt and honestly unexpected news from a friend that they basically wanted nothing to do with me anymore and that I should cease contact from them. Our relationship was going kind of sour, but the abrupt note really shook me to my core. Upon getting the news I kind of just broke down. I was shaking, I really thought I was going to throw up -- leaving it short, I don’t do well with abandonment. I was feeling all kinds of things -- guilt from the mistakes I had made in our relationship, anger at the fact that the mistakes they made in our relationship may never be acknowledged (at least to my face), shock and heartbreak from the loss of someone who was so important to me, frustration that I couldn’t defend myself or clarify miscommunication, anxiety, i could go on and on. While I believe readings should be done while in a clear state of mind, I grabbed the deck I have the closest bond to and I sat on my bed and began to shuffle.

I asked “what do I need to know about this loss, about this situation, that will bring me solace or at least show me how to pick up the pieces”.

I stopped shuffling. I took a deep breath. And I pulled Justice. 

I started weeping. I started weeping with anxiety knowing that I would karmically be held accountable for mistakes I made, but I wept much more with relief know that they would be too. And with that I knew I had the power to give myself some good karma, to create justice for myself in my own ways both related and unrelated to the situation in private, and to move forward from there. I knew that any good changes I made would bring good things. I knew that from a distance and very internally I could send that their way as well. But first -- it was time for me to pick up the pieces.

I went out and I bought a journal. I took a two week break from my social media. I re-incorporated my workouts into my mornings. I began going to therapy twice a week and really worked on putting the skills I’m learning into practice. I honed in on a better sleep schedule.

And absolutely shocking to me -- one month later,  my boyfriend and I are preparing to sign a lease to move in together in June, my thoughts are more positive, and my life seems so much more positive and fulfilling. I have a better sense of who I am. I’ve met some people who shared similar interests as me when it comes to Tarot and have grown closer to them. I’ve also grown closer to people who provide me with a lot of laughs and are a lot of fun. I still feel sorrow and anger at the loss of this friendship. I know that I still miss them and I know now that I am happy and healthy outside of that relationship and am okay without it too. 

Why bring any of this up?

Well, I was just doing a Celtic Cross for myself and the reading itself was so reassuring and relaxing to me. I won’t go into lengthy detail, but it basically said that I’m letting go of the conflict, the loss, and I’m ready to move forward and continue making positive changes in my life. I’ve made decisions and commitments to myself and the ones that I love and I’m moving forward and no one can stop me. I’m challenging myself to achieve great balance in all areas of my life, particularly within my jobs/developing career. 

I asked myself “This is amazing. I’d love to know where the deck thinks this came from, or what the root of all of this was, that is stemming such a positive and honest reading” So I turned to the bottom of the deck (which i believe offers this layer of depth in a reading and use it when I’m confused or just want more information) and my jaw dropped when I saw Justice.

I’m still shook. 

I feel so at peace, comforted, and more determined than ever to keep making positive changes. To make my life one that I want and deserve to live. To make one that is worth living. 

I am so grateful I have found my way to tarot as a means of self reflection, comfort, and being honestly attacked when I need to be. 

My heart is filled with gratitude for the relationship I had and lost, for the lessons it taught me and for the love it gave me when things were well. I’m also filled with warmth and gratitude at how it’s ended has provided a new beginning for my growth, for new relationships, for positive energy, light, and love in my life too. 

I’m truly grateful.
