They're really acting as if xmen hasn't been a very blatant metaphor for oppression minorities face, minorities which include queer/gender queer people(especially in this day and age with all the anti trans sentiment). Xmen isn't "going woke", they've always been woke. And to say that's not the case then they clearly aren't watching the same shows.

there's an inherent irony to self-supposed "true X-Men fans" wanting to protect their nostalgia from "woke" disenfranchised minorities, but I guess if they wanna stand Sentinel to protect their precious headcanons that's on them
