Posting #outofcosplay photos to keep this active. I'm sorry I've been really inactive especially when the holiday season came up. If you follow my #igstory a week ago , I went to San Jose CA right after Christmas to meetup with my bestfriends who also moved to the U.S. & Canada. It was a wonderful time to go visit another state & see each other again after almost a year and a half. 😊 As much as we wished to be near each other, we are just separated by distance. Hopefully, there will be more times that we get to do things together again after we've all done our #adulting and #lifehappens duties. 😊 Anyways, I still have lots of #cosplaygoals and #cosplayproject in line *give me the strength, time & money* 😅 and I still hope to do and finish them all. I guess, my drive has gotten more laid back ever since I moved here and it's both frustrating and refreshing. I can also say that I am getting into new things and new beginnings. I guess, when I have finally place everything in order and when I finally get the direction I would like to be in here then I can do more again in the hobby. Sorry for the sporadic posts, but I'm still thankful for everyone who checks up on me every now & then. 🤗🥰 I do however post on my ig stories some things that I do everyday. Boring stuff haha. In Toy Story 4, #littlebopeep is not so fragile anymore. She developed into a strong, independent lead character to which every little girl can relate and look up to. She loves her friends and loves her sheep. And ever since she was introduced in #toystory1 , she was always a favorite of mine because I grew up with the nursery rhyme about her. If you want to make your own #toystory4 #littlebopeep costume, you can use these patterns from @mccallpatterncompany to do it. I used #m7962 (although on packaging its R10242) style C for the top and #m7937 for the pants. I did a few modifications to it in terms of fit (length, sleeves,etc) to follow the design of #bopeep 's outfit. The instructions are easy to follow but of course you need to work around in figuring out how to do things to get the look that you want. There's tons of tutorials on google and @youtube that pretty much explains processes. Just need to be patient and vigorous in looking for what can help you achieve your target. That's why it's always a learning process and makes you grow skills for future projects. I honestly never thought I'd end up doing this to think my grandmother used to have a sewing shop when I was little. But I did remember I like looking at the fashion magazines at my grandmas shop. Little did i know that they were actually sewing catalogues for different styles of wardrobes. Also, I never took any formal lessons on sewing. I just asked my aunt to teach me how to use a sewing machine and tried making barbie outfits at first. And it was yeaaaaaaars after thst before I ended up "cosplaying". Through the years, I know I've improved and I am pretty proud of myself and my work. If you try these patterns and make your own bo peep costume, tag me and I want to see! Happy Sewing! Just a photo from my phone showing the full costume. 😮 Except the wig. I'll find and style a wig for this. 😁 But yea this costume is 70% complete. I still need to make her cape, staff and get a better wig. 🤔 But this costume test was good enough and I'm quite happy with it. 😊 Met with the peeps from @dcc_cosplay_photoshoot and we had a short workshop on posing presented by @munchkin_photos_by_heather . Got a few pointers to remember.😁 Saw and met friends from previous shoots and met a few new ones. 😁 Oh yea, since I didn't have my staff yet, we found this branch and it was perfect. [Edited to say Long Post ahead! I hope you can read it. 😊] Yay! 🎉 I've been meaning to make Bo Peep a loooooong time ago and I've decided when #toystory4 was announced. She was supposedly my first project here in the U.S but it got pushed for some reason. I already bought the materials months ago and was just stored in my fabric bins. Lack of motivation maybe or loss of interest because I was lonely. 🤷‍♀️ I dunno. But I saw the movie last weekend and it just tickled my brain again. Plus @dcc_cosplay_photoshoot scheduled a shoot that would be the last for 2019 and the location was like a farm so that's why I crammed this baby. Hahaha! Supposedly, this would have been finished earlier yesterday NOT 5am TODAY! WTF. But yeah, you know those times when things just go wrong for no reason? 😂 Gawd. I'm no sewing expert so every project is a learning process and that's why I buy commercial patterns like #mccallspatterns so i can learn. I used 2 patterns from this #m7962 for the top and #m7937 for the pants.I modified them a little and I had some challenges with both and I kept redoing my stitches.🤦‍♀️ I had to handstitch slip stitch the top which took me 2 freakin' hours. Hahaha! Then just when I'm about to be done doing ruffles, my ruffle foot decided to do some weird stuff that freaked me out coz I was scared it would break my machine or maybe the needle. 🙈 So I had to do it manually after. So yeah I finished sewing 5am and started baking cookies at 6 because I said I'll bring some for the group. 😂 So basically I haven't really slept yet and I said I'll nap during the drive but here I am writing this long a** post. 🤣 I know its crazy but that's fine. Back in Ph, this craziness cramming are our jam. And I need it. 😂 Hey, I haven't written anything long like this so it must mean something. Just a quick trial. 😊 I basted the top so I can see how it fits and where I need to adjust it. Haven't sewn the zipper yet because I forgot to get one when I was at @joann_stores earlier. *facepalm 🙄 I'm sure you know who this character is and I just watched the movie last weekend so I decided to work on this. This character was on my list of cosplans and this costume is just half of it because I also plan to make her original dress. 😁 So far I'm happy with the outcome.
