Regulus who loves potions in a way James never did and spends hours with Monty in their at home lab, who joins this book club with Effie and Sirius, and who Monty makes sure gets an apprenticeship in potions

James who would’ve loved to garden with his mom, or read with her, and who always tried to enjoy potions and do well to make his dad proud.

James who sits alone in his room during the day reading whatever they were reading to try and gain some connection, while the other 4 do activities without him.

James who always tells Regulus he’s fine even though he really isnt, even though he lays in bed at night silently crying because why isn’t he good enough for his parents OR his best friend OR his boyfriend

@hedgehog-troops deserves credit for this idea in my head bc i saw their post abt his parents loving Sirius and Regulus more than him and was like, yeah this is correct i need to speak on this
