How to Make a Suncatcher Window Cling with Cricut
Today I wanted to show you how to make a suncatcher window cling with your Cricut. Creating rainbows in your house is a magical thing to look forward to every day! ✨  I swear, when the rainbows come out it makes me so happy every time!

Supply list:
Vinyl
Suncatcher Window Cling
Transfer Tape
Standard Grip Cutting Mat
Cricut Basic Tool Set
Scissors
Optional: Brayer (Roller Tool)
Optional: Weeding Scrap Collector
Optional: Good Things are Coming SVG (website or Cricut)

Cut Out Your Vinyl + Cling
Just like any other vinyl project, start off by cutting your vinyl and cling to the size you need. I'm using the Standard Gripmats for both.
Pro tip: when removing vinyl from your mats, pull the mat away from the vinyl so the vinyl doesn't curl.
Tumblr media
I used the Window Cling custom setting that Design Space already had, but I actually cut it 2-3 times. After it cuts the first time, take a look at the cling and if it doesn't look like it made a deep enough cut, run the cut again by pressing the cut button. Make sure you don't click the blinking arrow lights because that will remove the mat from the tray and will move on to the next layer to cut.
Weed Your Vinyl
I prefer to use the weeding tool from Cricut for larger pieces, but if I'm doing a mandala or something really tiny I'll use a weeding pen. I also like using a weeding scrap collector to speed the process up and not get those little vinyl bits stuck to my desk or fingers.

Transfer Your Design to the Cling
Apply transfer tape to your vinyl and rub that down. Then remove the vinyl backing, ensuring no vinyl bits are coming off. Once the backing is off, transfer the vinyl to the front of the window cling.
Then carefully remove the transfer tape.
Add Suncatcher to Window
Follow the instructions that came with the window cling you've purchased. For mine I needed to wash my window then add some water. Once you've got the window prepped, remove the backing from the window cling and put it on the window.
I'm using this Brayer/Roller tool to help push out all the excess water and ensure there's no air bubbles. If you don't have one you can use a credit card.

After the suncatcher is placed, wipe off the excess water with a paper towel. Now all that's left to do is wait for the sun to come out and start making rainbows everywhere! ✨
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial on how to make a suncatcher window cling with your Cricut!
