Hades And Persephone AU

For the surprise Elejah month.

Elijah can’t help but come to Mystic Falls. Drawn to her. His brother doesn’t know of her existence, of course, not yet, not until Elijah will draw him out. The more he sees her, the more he comes to Mystic Falls, the less desire he has to draw out his brother. Elijah knows Klaus, the vampire desperate to become a hybrid, not Niklaus, the brother. He will wait for the full moon and sacrifice her at the first instant. Elijah will kill him, and get his revenge. But what is the prudence of revenge, when he can get something infinitely more precious. When he can meet the doppelganger, when he can make a new life, a new world, for him and her. No Klaus, no Salvatores. None other than those she calls family. After all, Elijah understands the neccesity of family, he would never dream of taking hers away from her forever. Only temporarily.

It was easy to forget what Elijah was when he texted using LOL and OMG and the occasional WTF. “Do your friends know you have a thing for older men?”

“Things are good.” The glint in her eye told Caroline everything. “How good exactly?” Elena threw her head back and squeezed her eyes shut. “Very. Very good. Things are so very good multiple times every night.” Caroline laughed. “But I suppose,” Elena continued, “that I don’t have to tell you how good an original vampire is in bed, do I?” Caroline paled.

She could feel Klaus at her back, his breath warm over her ear, his arm wrapped around her waist. She longed to be free of his hold, of his touch.

“Do you feel nothing?” He asked, his voice low, “even now?”

“You’re a monster,” she said as she met his gaze in the mirror. It looked wrong, she thought, to have her sisters murderer wrapped around her.

“Perhaps you should know what it feels like then, to love a monster, perhaps,” he paused and she frowned, her heart racing as she dreaded what he’d say next, “I should compel you to love me. Or perhaps, you already do.”

Elena grit her teeth, heart in her throat, fear filling her stomach, “go to hell.”

Chapter 14

She finds a pool behind the house, sits at the edge and dangles her feet in it.

She’d left Elijah’s room moments after Klaus had barged in on them, too alert, too hyperaware of them, of the thrumming beneath her skin. Of the way she’d hugged Elijah, of the way his touch still seemed to linger upon her skin.

She can still see him, grey and dead on the kitchen floor.

She forces herself to think of him, as he was just minutes ago. Alive
