To Watch You
Sneaking glances Fleeting chances To catch your smile To watch your lips move Your eyes shine Your cheeks glow To watch you To just watch You Because I can’t have you I can’t So I’ll just watch You © Kris Blackburn 29/06/22

Blue Tones
Off kilter That new filter Those blue tones Your few moans I wish to hear Just come here I’ll show you blue I’ll pleasure you Down to your knees Oh baby, please You feel so good The way you should When open wide I try to hide Myself in you So sticky too Hands in your hair But you’re nowhere Not to be seen ‘Cept on a screen And I’m alone With your blue tones. ©️ Kris…

To be Unsaid
Naught like a thought with expectation Than that with which infatuation Arises and abides us, welling from inside us Until the focal source derides us. And yet my dear we find out here Is where the end of this draws near For whence it came and where it goes With untimely end yet no one knows. Like cliched rhyme and crooked line I stumble through this verse of mine To make a point quite…

Your Enigma
Stormy winter, my code To crack, a road to track Enigmatic walking Pheromone Hawking how she moans Losing sight of senses Orally fixated Understated, so curvaceous Instantaneous Standing to attention: Enigma. For you, Enigma. ©️ Kris Blackburn 20/10/21

To Make Fools
I hear the clattering chattering Like this cat or thing is trying to speak to me Leak to me The secrets of the universe And science of the sea From far beyond imagining Like we abscond from imaging This cat or thing With facts it sings To ears that ring and turn away To melodies unquestioning in thrall Of man or fool or else equal To that thought school In light they made to reach…

The Minuet of Silent Beauty
Feet in the sand she sits, sighs,
Only nature to hear her
Replying with melodies
Brought on harmonious waves
Enraptured by her beauty;
Calmed by the peace she breathes with
Kindness, eyes closed, in silence.
‘You are beautiful, thank you.’
Breezes carrying the words
Across the waves from nature
Responding in kind for the
Resplendence that she gives back.

Two Dreamers
Together at the sky looked we
Two dreamers, individually
Separate though one thought alike:
How do we share this flash of light?
A storm I witness but for you
A sky so warm and coloured blue
An opposite yet no less true
A different dream, a different view.
And while you gaze and wonder on
The sky above, we wander on
An earth so different, so the same
An…

Welcome, Unbidden
Such words I see formed perfectly
Unbound with rhythmic clarity
“Enter, my muse” I call to dark
Your eyes reply, a knowing spark.
I saw you then I know not when
In a dream I’d thought forgotten
To see you now in pose so still
This man forgets his better will.
To see this face in such a place
Is the warmth of a soft embrace
To know that you will never know

Of Long Redacted Elegy
What lovely songs we both would sing
If our voices were heard mingling
What melodies we two could create
United harmonies, separate.
As the wind would carry fallen leaves
So our songs are carried on the breeze
Far apart for now but join we will
A promise, our purpose to fulfil.
For now we two must gaze upon
The stars and moon that always shone
Down to our…

Behind the Photo
Behind the Photo #poetry #amwriting #poem
I can see your pain
I can see your hurt
Not from the words
You write
But from the words
Tattooed
Indelibly
Onto your heart.

A Bohemian Summer
Autumn begins
No compromise
And what once was
Shall be again
But the fall
Like leaves
A face framed
Cascaded upon
By strands
And eyes inquisitive
Question, query
Never rest
But now
Winter
No compromise
No chill
Just truth
A continuum
Of what once was
And will be again
And she remains
Ever the strength
Even when her wind
Fails her, shakes her
She remains
Ever the strength
Then Spring
Unbidden
Unco…

There Were Times
There were times
We wrote to each other
And sometimes spoke
But never met
And kept some thoughts
Undercover
But we know.
We just know.
And that’s all we needed
And all we need.

Could Write
I wish I could write
Like I’m running out of time
But instead I overthink
Every word and every line
And I want to write
Without thought
Without pressure
Unfettered, not caught
Not trying to measure
Every action, every syllable
The consequences of a letter
So here is my attempt
And here again I stalled
So I’ll try to end it now
Before I get over awed.

No Serenity
I dreamt that I
Was in a pool
Of silver water
A liquid mirror
Shimmering
And I above it all
Standing on a rock
A boulder
So large that only
A giant or
Nephilim
Could have placed it
For me to stand upon
Thinking nothing
Saying nothing
Feeling
Nothing
And never had I
Known such
Peace
Such pure bliss
Until I awoke
And I now am
Submerged
Beneath that pool
And it is dark
Beneath a lightless sky
A…

This Crumbled Mausoleum
Weather beaten
Marble carved
Statues of Christ
Adorned with
Agéd flora
Standing sentinel
Alongside
All deities
That the world
Could dream
Time worn
Ruined
Broken
Facing
Adjacent
Between rays
Of scattered light
Awake and alone
At the mercy
Of the elements
To those of my own
For I am my own God
In this crumbled
Mausoleum
In which
My thoughts
All chapter and verse
Hymn and homily
Requiem and chorus

Nothing Else
It is I
I am the cause
For I feel too deep
And think too much
But you see
My dear
I have
Nothing else
To do
