Author's Note: IT'S HERE! I know I said I'd post it a couple days ago, but I got caught up with summer school. Sorry if it seems rushed.

Death. It's what everyone fears. No matter how much someone says they want it or wish it on someone else, when they really face it, they are afraid. Hunter learned to hide it, to act strong... but then along came Omega. She changed him, broke down his emotional walls, and, honestly, made him a better person. In exchange, he'd also changed her. She became more brave, more bold, and learned how to speak for herself. It scared him sometimes how careless she seemed, but he knew she got that from him. She reminded him of a younger version of himself, which is probably why he got so attached to her so fast. So now, as he slept at her bedside in a chair, he felt her hand on his cheek, trying to comfort him in his sleep, he just wanted to stay there forever, with the false hopes that she was awake. He started to stir, thinking the feeling would fade away... but, as he woke up... he realized that... her gentle, reassuring touch... was still there.

Omega: "Hey, Hunter..."

Hunter's head snapped up, and his eyes widened.

Hunter: "O-Omega?"

Omega was sitting up in bed, her right hand cupping his cheek as she smiles softly at him, her eyes sparkling at him. She chuckles a little.

Omega: "... why the long face?"

Hunter couldn't stop himself. He hugged her, burying his face in the crook of her neck. Omega was surprised for a moment, before hugging him back, stroking his hair with her left hand. He sobbed into her shoulder.

Hunter: "Omega..."

Omega: "Shhhh... it's okay, Hunter... I'm here vod'ika... I'm here..."

He sobs.

Hunter: "you're alive..."

Omega: "I am... I'm alive..."

They just stayed like that for a minute. Him taking in her scent, listening to her heart beat strong in her chest. She was alive, after all the uncertainty of the past two weeks, she was alive, and there was no doubt about it.

Omega: "... Hunter?"

Hunter: "Hm?"

Omega: "Shoulder..."

He was confused for a moment, before he realized he'd laid his head on her right shoulder. He quickly pulled away. She rubbed her shoulder a little, wincing.

Hunter: "Oh kark. Omega, I'm so sorry, I-"

Omega: "Hey, hey, it's okay... I'm okay. I'll just have to lay off using my bow for a while."

Hunter looks at her confused.

Hunter: "Mags, you don't have your bow anymore. You lost it, remember?"

Omega: "I know, just trying to lighten the mood."

He smiles at her, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Hunter: "We almost lost you..."

Omega: "I know... but you didn't."

She sighs, laying back.

Omega: "We're all safe. Hemlock's gone..."

She chuckles softly.

Omega: "What'll we do now?"

Hunter placed his hand on her uninjured shoulder.

Hunter: "Whatever we want, kid."

He touched his forehead to hers and they both closed their eyes.

Hunter: "Whatever we want."

The next hour or so was filled with a lot of emotions. Emerie was the first to see her, accidentally. She quickly informed the others and started looking Omega over, making sure there weren't any life-threatening symptoms she had missed.

Wrecker came in next, and nearly burst into tears when he saw her. He did his best to be gentle when hugging her, but he did squeeze her a bit. Not that she minded, she just wanted to make sure he didn't hurt himself.

Crosshair was the third. He knealt down next to her, unsure of what to say, not sure if he should scold her or act worried, or both... until she touched where his left hand used to be. The small apology of "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you" broke something in him, and he tried to stifle a sob, but found himself burying his face in the blanket next to her, trembling as she gently pets his head, comforting him as she lets him cry.

As soon as Echo heard the news, he rushed back to base from one of the watchtowers, straight to Tech's room, already seeing his brother already trying to get up and out of bed. He ran over to assist and helped him to his wheelchair.

Tech could hear his heart pounding in his ears as they went down the hallway. What if she was afraid of him now? Surely she would realize he was not of his own mind when he committed such violence, right? Will she be mad at me? Only time will tell, I suppose. Echo gripped the handles a bit more. He silently prayed to the gods that this would go well. As they made it to the door, Echo sighs.

Echo: "You ready?"

Tech hesitates, before nodding. Echo presses the button and the door opens. Everything seems to go silent. The others get out of the way. Echo pushes Tech forward. It felt like forever until he finally got to her bedside. They make eye contact, their expressions unreadable. Tech sighs, eyes downturned.

Tech: "Omega, I am sorry for what occurred on Tantiss. I know that does not fix things, but I hope I-"

He stopped when he felt her hand cup his cheek. She gently raised his head up again to look at him. She smiles softly at him, tears in her eyes.

Omega: "... Tech... you don't need to apologize... you came back alive... I think I speak for all of us when I say that's more than enough."

Tech was caught off guard by this, but when he looked around, he could see the same sentiment in everyone's eyes. He leaned into his sister's touch, a tear rolling down his cheek as he closed his eyes.

Tech: "Thank you..."
