I'm a hipster before hipsters were cool - in that I'm always obsessed in obscure things or things popular years after anyone is talking about them. (See me joining Tumblr a decade plus after it's creation.) I'm also better with technology the older it is. I'm a bit shy by nature, but once you get me going I'll rattle off/write the equivalent of War & Peace. My brain is full of yarn - the kind you use to connect those maps you see of crimes on TV. I like to knit and watch TV shows. And then analyse those shows to death like I would critically analyse a text in a Lit class.

Friend: "I don't know why I keep saying the world is falling apart. It's already fallen apart. It's the past tense, not present."
Me: "It's like those commercials with those inexplicably flimsy paper plates. We're already past the part where we've flung our mountain of Chinese food everywhere. The sauce is starting to soak into our incredibly light-colored pants. We probably should get the Swiffer out soon."
-Paraphrased segment from a conversation with my friend last night about the general state of the world

I hope this means Colbert embraces his peak IDAF era. Like I hear Conan did on the last couple shows he did before he stepped down to give The Tonight Show back to Leno.
Cause what are they going to do - fire him sooner?
That'll definitely help allay suspicions this is a 100% pure financial decision.
What the fuck do you mean they're cancelling Colbert's show?

In trying to find the tiny nuggets of silver lining here at least I can say I'm looking forward to Jon Stewart's thoughts on the matter - even if just a brief mention to get the lay of the internal land, as it were.
Because for as long as he's known Colbert it'd be more suspicious if he didn't say something on the matter. Like when Letterman retired the late night hosts all had something to reminisce about.
I wouldn't be surprised if Seth Meyers and/or John Oliver have a few choice comments as well - since like Stewart they don't generally don't care if they piss off the wrong person and they don't have to worry about Paramount.
What the fuck do you mean they're cancelling Colbert's show?

I'm happy to sign a petition if you've made one.
I'm of the mindset that it's important to express dissent, even if odds are it won't change anything.
What the fuck do you mean they're cancelling Colbert's show?

Like I'm not saying it's because of Colbert's criticism of Trump and Paramount.
But did literally anyone consider the optics on this if it's somehow not about that?
What the fuck do you mean they're cancelling Colbert's show?

Edward IV: "Why do you keep asking me about Henry VI? I mean, sure, he's been a thorn in my side even before a bunch of people betrayed me and temporarily reinstated him as king. Do you know how much imprisoning and guarding a former king costs? It's killer on your royal budget! ...Of course he died of melancholy immediately after being reimprisoned. You'd be sad too if you lost the chance to be king twice. And no, it's not suspicious there's a gap in the guard logs that night."
Richard III: "Why are you all so obsessed with my missing nephews? They probably weren't even legitimate anyway, and I deserve to be king after all the shit my brothers put me through. And sure, whatever happened to them totally benefits me. Doesn't mean I know anything about it. But it's been 2 years. Let it go."
Excerpts from my "Conversations that definitely would have happened in 15th century England if kings didn't have the 'beheading' option."
Not at all inspired by current US political events.

I need to note for posterity that I am loving how JDM is playing Negan in Dead City 2x01.
Never has Negan being Negan seemed more like a role, one Negan himself is playing. He smiles, he jokes, he intimidates. But there's no joy, no relishing of his actions. Not the Negan of Seasons 6/7/8. He's going through the motions. He seems more like Joe Kessler on The Boys - that's the way he talks, but he's not living it up when he speaks. His heart is absolutely not in this.
And yet the Croat enjoys it - it's the most Negan he's seen in years but he's so excited to get it back. But he's always had a view of Negan that isn't the truth, an altar he worships at but never really understood
The Dama applauds it - this is exactly what she requested from him. But she doesn't realize she's getting a watered-down performance. Like an athlete above anything she's seen at work before, but nowhere near his personal best.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is putting such thought and nuance into what makes up Negan and goddamn, that is what I came to this show for.

Interesting...I hadn't heard about that headcanon before.
I think S4 would have honestly been better if at some point in the season armless OG Five showed up to question (read: verbally eviscerate) everything S4 doppelganger Five was doing.
I am a hair's breadth away from making it my own personal headcanon that the reason everyone was acting so wildly out of character in s4 of TUA is because in s4 we switched to following a whole new set of siblings in one of the other universes (and the writers forgot to tell us).
And these are versions of the characters who had some similar, but not the same experiences, different relationships to each other, etc.
Seriously - it solves a pretty sizable amount of the issues with season 4.

It's not even a matter about caring about his siblings.
Though, I think he does care. But he's gone through trauma on a scale that doesn't exist in our world. And through everything in the apocalypse and The Commission, I think he's a strong proponent of the "Hierarchy of Needs". So to Five, making sure they live first is a higher priority than making sure they're happy. But in the brief moments the world doesn't appear to be ending you can see Five trying to help Diego overcome his need for revenge for Eudora (1x9) or helping Klaus find his birth mom once he explains why that's important to him (3x2). But I'm getting off topic.
I'm saying that Five looking at this should have seen his siblings were the problem. S1, he gets a pass because he lacks way too many of the pieces of the puzzle until too late. But S2 he knows:
1. His siblings have powers that resulted in the end of the world once (by accident)
2. Exactly what causes the world to end (atomic bombs).
3. What the timeline used to be, and that it only changes when they arrived.
We know from S1 Five can make a shortlist of people he could kill to potentially stop the end of the world. We know he had concerns about the siblings' presence in the 60s by mid-season.
But considering Leonard was the lynchpin in S1 but dead by the time the world ended, one of the Hargreeves already could have already gotten the apocalypse ball rolling long before Five started hunting for a way to get them back.
So it's baffling to me Five wasn't asking each sibling "take me through every ridiculous and seemingly innocuous thing you've done in the 'x' amount of time you've been here so I can figure out who broke what".
I can't believe over the course of the show Five didn't pick up that he should paying attention to his siblings' personal dramas to stop them all from either starting or dying an untimely death as part of the apocolypse(s).
Like he knows the domino and butterfly effects from his time at The Commission. He should have been watching them like a hawk by at least S2. And elbowing his way into their dramas in an effort to figure out and stop whatever mess(es) they've created in hopes of stopping their latest untimely deaths.

"You just got an old car and it doesn’t have Bluetooth. You can only buy seven cds and you can’t repeat an artist. What are you getting?" I feel like my not-so-secret old person tendencies are showing, Because when my 20 year old car died in 2023, I specifically went shopping for a car that still had a CD player. I will truly never understand how it's better/safer/easier to try to mess with your Bluetooth or phone while driving, using your phone battery and even potentially your data, when I could just pop a CD in my car and drive. I also grew up listening to near-constant music on the radio with my parents, but rarely full albums, so my entire car collection is self-burned CDs. So I'm going to answer this question in 2 ways, because I'm loving the self-analyzation this requires. And the mixed CDs are a more honest reflection of my taste.
If I had to have 7 "purchasable in a store" CDs for my car (I think some of these may have more than 1 disc):
A Boot and a Shoe - Sam Phillips
All Things Must Pass - George Harrison
ELO's Greatest Hits - Electric Light Orchestra
Elton John's Greatest Hits - Elton John
The Beatles 1967-1970 (The Blue Album) - The Beatles
The Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars - David Bowie
Of the actual mixed CDs in my car, and this was hard split of those 14 (all named by CD color and number with an idea what each contain):
Black 1 - half Pink Floyd medley, half predominantly mellow rock
Blue 1 - All Beatles medley - heavily from the Anthology albums
Purple 2 - Sam Phillip's A Boot & a Shoe followed by Fan Dance, and a couple folk rock songs to round it off
Red 2 - pop medley from late 2000s to 2010s with artists like Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars that rounds off with a few rock songs
Orange 3 - All Things Must pass discs 1 & 2 with a couple tracks from 3 to round it off
Black 3 - all rock - heavy on Led Zeppelin and ELO, Bad Company, etc.
Blue 3 - All 90s or earlier, but a mix of rock and pop with mellower vibes - both happy and depressing, including Jefferson Airplane, Simon & Garfunkel, C, S, N, & Y, etc.

I feel like I'm cheating because I collect CDs for my car anyway. Some of these I have, some of them are on my wishlist.
1. Unreal unearth - Hozier
2. Strange Trails - Lord Huron
3. Coyote - Dylan Leblanc
4. Gregory Alan Isakov with the Colorado Symphony
5. Ceremonials - Florence and the Machine
6. Cleopatra - The Lumineers
7. Escape - Journey

My apologies for not including Claire in my initial count (Elektra, Karen, Heather). But she dated Matt less seriously than the others. And she pushed an undead Ninja out a window, so the point stands.
Four seasons of Daredevil, and Matt Murdock's type can be best described as "a woman capable of murder".
He's 3 for 3 on women he's dated during the course of Daredevil and Daredevil: Born Again.
Sure, only one of them was a trained killer. The other two are better categorized as "murder in self-defense". But they both are remarkably okay with the killing aspect itself after the fact. For a guy whose core part of his superhero code involves "no killing", it really says something about Matt psychologically that this is his taste in women.
