Day 13 of #igwritersoct • I usually go to a coffee shop and get a warm latte, which puts me in the right frame of mind to write. Earphones and Spotify also helps tremendously. I am transported straight into my novel with the right music. • Sometimes the right lipstick or accessories/clothes make it more exciting to write. Like this #motojacket ! Pantser or Plotter? #igwriteroct asks the question. • I am a plotting pantser as others have said, I tend to plot loosely and then pants my way through it, welcoming every stray idea in the process 🤷🏻‍♀️. • I've tried it both ways and I found that pantsing it all the way through gets me stranded in corners, scared with nowhere to go, lol. • Plotting all the way through sucks out all of the motivation I have for writing. Had a lovely, heartwarming Thanksgiving dinner this past weekend. I am thankful for my love of writing, my love of books, and this wonderful community of writers that have embraced me as one of their own from day one ❤️. Thank you, my loves! You've made my life so much more interesting and worthwhile. HI LOVES! I am back from a much needed social media break. I've caught up on school and work, and I've even written a huge chunk of my novel (as well as started a side writing project 🙂). Where do you find your writing inspiration? • Sometimes I'll find it in a movie preview, a particular movie scene that resonates with me, a piece of music, sometimes just the title of a song makes my brain sprout lots of little ideas. I make sure to write them down, no matter how out of context they might be. Writing is a state between dreaming and being awake. • I've posted this quote before and I'm posting it again as a reminder of how precious writing really is. To create whole worlds, events, and people that didn't exist before has to be some kind of magic. Enjoying the remaining warm days this week. Our society is so go, go, go. Halloween candy shows up at the end of July, Christmas decorations appear the day after Halloween. I get it. I'm excited for the peppermint mocha lattes and pumpkin spice anythings during this time of the year too, but sometimes it's nice to snap yourself out of the 'tomorrow' state of mind, and enjoy 'today'.
