[EN] Having kids means… doing math with them.
It also means: Wake up early, drive 70 kilometers to the cinema, watch a boring movie, go grab something to eat, drive 70 kilometers back, it’s evening, you’re completely wiped — and still, math needs to happen.
...plus a whole parade of other “joys.” A full-on variety show.
By the way — are there any turtles you can keep in the garden? Like a European pond turtle or something? I need to read up on that.
Hope your weekend’s going smoother than mine. 😅
P.S. If for some mysterious reason you were curious about Minecraft: The Movie — feel free to skip it.
[PL] Posiadanie dzieci to… robienie z nimi matmy.

We often hear him say, “The half-pipe is strong with this one.” Saber Rattling: Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the dark side! Everyone knows his navigation system only works in one direction. Darth Baker: His cookies may be a little on the dark side, but they’re absolutely delicious. We’ve tasted his famous “Death Star Donuts” and they’re out of this industry. Vader Tot: What do you call baby Anakin’s snack time favorite? Tater tots with a side of power! The young Sith lord always demands seconds. Breath Invader: Don’t stand too close when he removes his mask – that mechanical breathing isn’t the only thing you’ll notice. His morning coffee breath can destroy planets faster than the Death Star. Darth Mall: The only shopping center where the escalators move toward the dark side. We recommend visiting during the Empire’s annual Black Friday sale for serious discounts on capes and helmets. Luke at the Weather: Darth Vader’s favorite weather report: “It’s going to be cloudy with a chance of father issues.” The forecast always calls for emotional storms on Bespin. Vader’s Day Off: What does Darth Vader do on his vacation? He sits on the beach getting some much-needed vitamin D after years in that helmet. The sunscreen bills are astronomical! Death Star Wars: What happens when the Empire can’t decide on the breakroom decor? The stormtroopers want minimalist, but Vader insists on gothic black. Their interior design conflicts are legendary throughout the galaxy. Sith Happens: Darth Vader’s favorite bumper sticker for his TIE fighter. We’ve noticed he flies extra aggressively through asteroid fields when displaying this particular slogan. The Dark Side of Humor: Why Darth Vader Puns Are So Popular Darth Vader puns have become incredibly popular across social media and fan communities thanks to the character’s universal appeal and distinctive traits. These puns leverage the Sith Lord’s iconic status to create humor that resonates with Star Wars enthusiasts and casual fans alike. Universal Recognition Darth Vader ranks among the most instantly recognizable villains in pop culture history. His distinctive black helmet, flowing cape, and mechanical breathing create an unmistakable image that people worldwide can identify immediately. This universal recognition allows Vader puns to work effectively across cultural boundaries, making them accessible to a broad audience. Phrases like “What does Darth Vader use for coffee? The dark roast!” capitalize on this widespread familiarity. The Iconic Status of Star Wars’ Greatest Villain Vader’s position as the centerpiece antagonist of one of history’s most successful film franchises gives him unparalleled cultural staying power. His character has permeated nearly every aspect of popular media since his debut in 1977. This cultural saturation means references to him remain relevant decades after his first appearance. The character’s complexity adds substantial depth to puns created about him. Unlike one-dimensional villains, Vader’s transformation from Anakin Skywalker to Sith Lord provides multiple angles for wordplay. His tragic backstory, redemption arc, and family drama with Luke create rich material for humor that goes beyond simple character references. His memorable quotes like “I am your father” and “I find your lack of faith disturbing” have become integral parts of our cultural lexicon, making them perfect foundations for puns that play on these well-known phrases. How Vader’s Distinct Traits Make Him Perfect for Puns Vader’s association with “the dark side” creates endless opportunities for wordplay involving darkness, shadows, and contrast. Puns such as “How does Darth Vader like his toast? On the Dark Side” demonstrate this natural connection. The concept of darkness works particularly well for humor because it can apply to countless everyday situations. His mechanical breathing and distinctive voice, famously performed by James Earl Jones, offer another dimension for humor. Many puns imitate or reference this signature sound effect, creating instant recognition. The character’s imposing physical appearance—from his helmet to his cape—provides visual elements that translate effectively into jokes. Vader’s Force abilities supply yet another layer of material for creative wordplay. Puns like “Darth Vader’s favorite game? Hide and seek, but he always finds you with the Force!” cleverly incorporate his supernatural powers. Force-related terminology such as “force-lifting” creates natural connections to ordinary activities while maintaining the Star Wars reference. The villain’s militant leadership style aboard the Death Star generates humor through contrast when placed in mundane situations. Imagining Vader in everyday scenarios—like baking with “I find your lack of yeast disturbing”—creates inherently funny juxtapositions that fans appreciate. May the Farce Be With You: Classic Darth Vader One-Liners Star Wars fans love a good pun, especially when it involves the galaxy’s most infamous villain. These classic Darth Vader one-liners are perfect for bringing some humor to the dark side. “May the puns be with you.” This simple twist on the iconic Star Wars greeting brings a smile to any fan’s face. “I find your lack of puns disturbing.” When someone doesn’t appreciate your Star Wars humor, this adaptation of Vader’s famous threat is the perfect response. “Join me, and together we can rule the puns!” Nothing says Sith Lord comedy like inviting friends to join your punny rebellion. “What do you call a Sith with a lisp? Darth Thidious.” This wordplay cleverly combines speech impediments with Palpatine’s Sith name for a laugh-out-loud moment. Breathing-Related Puns That Won’t Leave You Gasping Darth Vader’s iconic breathing sound is perhaps his most recognizable trait, making it perfect fodder for some hilarious puns. His respirator-dependent existence provides endless inspiration for breath-taking humor. “Why did Darth Vader go to the doctor? He felt a little force-sensitive.” This pun cleverly plays on Vader’s health issues while incorporating the Force, the mystical energy that gives Jedi and Sith their powers. “Darth Vader walks into a bar and orders a drink. The bartender says, ‘Why the heavy breathing?'” Simple yet effective, this joke highlights Vader’s most recognizable characteristic. “Vader’s breathing is so loud because he’s always trying to catch his Darth.” This wordplay combines his breathing issues with a pun on “breath” that’s sure to get a chuckle. Father-Son Puns That Are Relatably Hilarious The father-son relationship between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker offers rich material for family-themed humor. These puns play on their complicated ever-changing and shared heritage. “Why did Luke cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!” This twist on the classic chicken joke references Luke’s temptation to join his father’s evil faction. “What was Anakin’s favorite meal as a kid? Chicken nuggets and Darth Tatertots.” This delightful food pun imagines young Anakin before he became the feared Sith Lord we know. “If Vader worked in a restaurant, he’d be Darth Waiter.” Though not strictly about fatherhood, this occupational pun creates a hilarious image of the intimidating villain taking your dinner order. “Luke asked Vader to tell him a bedtime story, but he always starts with ‘A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…'” This joke plays on the iconic Star Wars opening crawl while imagining a normal father-son bedtime routine. Sith-Splitting Wordplay: Darth Vader Name Puns When it comes to Star Wars humor, nothing beats clever name puns that transform the Dark Lord of the Sith into something unexpectedly hilarious. These creative spins on Vader’s name will have fans laughing faster than lightspeed. Invader/Vader Puns That Conquer Any Conversation Wondering why Darth Vader always carried a pencil? It’s because he wanted to draw the dark side! This classic joke sets the tone for the humor that follows. Picture Darth Vader walking into a bar and ordering a drink—naturally, he heard the drinks were on the dark side. Music lovers might appreciate learning that Vader became a musician because he wanted to play the dark side of the notes. Fitness enthusiasts will understand why he joined the gym: to strengthen his grip on the dark side, of course. Navigation troubles are no match for the Sith Lord who uses a DarthGPS to find his way around the galaxy. These puns perfectly capture Vader’s obsession with the dark side while placing him in surprisingly ordinary situations. Punny Variations on “Darth” That Work Surprisingly Well DarthGPS stands out as one of the cleverest name variations, turning the Sith Lord into a helpful navigation system. Force-lifting ranks as Vader’s favorite exercise, combining his Force powers with everyday fitness. His career change to bakery work makes perfect sense when you realize he kneaded the dough. BBQ enthusiasts appreciate his candid feedback to the Emperor: “I find your lack of sauce disturbing!” Athletic competitions pose challenges for Vader because he always chokes under pressure. Other brilliant variations include Graph Vader for data visualization enthusiasts and Ele-Vader, an amusing elephant-Sith Lord hybrid. These wordplay examples demonstrate why Darth Vader continues to inspire some of the most creative puns in the Star Wars universe. The Empire Strikes Crack-Up: Situational Vader Humor Workplace Vader Puns for the Office Jedi We’ve assembled the ultimate collection of Darth Vader puns to lighten up your workplace environment. When Darth Vader says he’s in charge of a project, you know it’s a done deal—no need for further discussion. Team meetings run more smoothly when you remind colleagues that setbacks aren’t the end of the Empire. Vader’s presence transforms any conference room, making it feel like a dark and stormy night regardless of the actual weather outside. His fashion sense extends beyond intimidation—Vader doesn’t just wear black; he truly owns the color as a power statement in the workplace. Even though being a Sith Lord, Vader knows how to cut through office noise and get straight to productive answers. Pressure situations are his specialty, as Vader certainly knows how to take the heat (even in that full suit). For team-building exercises, ask what you call someone who refuses to join the Dark Side—a Darth Hater, of course! Everyday Situations With a Sith Lord Twist We’ve discovered that Darth Vader’s preferences extend to everyday activities in surprisingly humorous ways. Vader always orders his toast on the Dark Side, perfectly charred and intimidating. Coffee breaks are never ordinary with the Sith Lord, as he exclusively chooses dark roast for his morning caffeine fix. Medical appointments become amusing when Vader tells his doctor he’s feeling a little force-sensitive instead of describing actual symptoms. Dating apps feature Vader under the clever username “Darth Dater,” swiping right on promising Imperial matches. Culinary career options abound for the Dark Lord—if Vader cooked professionally, he’d be known as Darth Caterer, while restaurant service would transform him into Darth Waiter. Tardiness doesn’t escape notice at Imperial meetings, with Grand Moff Tarkin irritably referring to late arrivals as Darth Later. Winter sports enthusiasts might spot Vader at the Olympics competing as Darth Skater, trading his lightsaber for impressive moves on ice. Each everyday situation becomes an opportunity for Sith-inspired wordplay that brings the Dark Side into the mundane aspects of life. Dad Vader: Father-Themed Puns Perfect for Any Parent Darth Dad: The Ultimate Father Figure Darth Dad represents the perfect fusion of parenting authority and Star Wars humor. Parents everywhere can embrace their inner Sith Lord with the simple yet effective “Darth Dad is always watching, even when you think he’s not.” This playful moniker works exceptionally well for fathers who maintain discipline with a wink and a smile, acknowledging the “dark side” of parenting responsibilities. Force-Powered Parental Wisdom Force-themed advice puns transform everyday parental reminders into memorable Star Wars moments. “I find your lack of assignments disturbing” offers a brilliant twist on Vader’s iconic line while serving as an effective reminder for children to complete their assignments. Parents can harness the power of the Force to deliver important messages with humor rather than frustration. Dark Side of Parenting Humor Parenting challenges become much funnier when framed within the Darth Vader universe. “Darth Dad loves gardening; he’s always growing the next generation” provides a perfect metaphor for nurturing children while maintaining the Star Wars theme. These puns acknowledge the sometimes challenging aspects of raising kids while keeping the mood light and entertaining. Fatherly Jokes with a Sith Twist Everyday dad jokes gain extra power when combined with Vader references. “Why did Darth Vader break up with his girlfriend? He found her too light-hearted!” can be repurposed to joke about a father’s serious approach to parenting or discipline. These puns work particularly well when delivered with the deep voice and dramatic timing associated with the character. Parenting Activities with Force Powers Daily parental tasks transform into heroic feats with the right pun. “Darth Vader’s favorite exercise? Force-lifting!” becomes a humorous way to describe fathers helping with heavy chores or lifting their children during playtime. Parents can turn mundane activities into memorable moments by incorporating these themed references. Baking Bonds with Vader Humor Kitchen time offers rich opportunities for Star Wars wordplay. “Why did Darth Vader get a job at the bakery? He kneaded the dough!” works perfectly for fathers who enjoy cooking with their children. This pun celebrates the hands-on approach many parents take while creating delicious family memories in the kitchen. Sweet Side of Fatherly Preferences Personal tastes become pun-worthy with the right Vader connection. “When it comes to baking, Darth Vader prefers the dark chocolate side!” allows fathers to humorously express their preferences while maintaining the Star Wars theme. These puns work especially well during family dessert time or when making special treats together. Family Game Nights with a Galactic Twist Playtime puns add extra fun to family activities. “Darth Vader’s favorite game? Hide and seek, but he always finds you with the Force!” perfectly describes the almost supernatural ability of parents to locate their children, no matter how well they think they’re hidden. These playful references acknowledge the special connection between parents and children while keeping the mood lighthearted. How to Use Darth Vader Puns Without Facing the Emperor’s Wrath Understand Your Audience Understanding your audience is crucial when delivering Darth Vader puns. We recommend using these jokes primarily with people who are familiar with the Star Wars franchise and appreciate humor. Star Wars enthusiasts will instantly recognize references to the Dark Lord’s character traits, making your puns more effective. Casual viewers might miss the nuances that make these jokes truly entertaining, so gauge your audience’s knowledge before unleashing your full comedic arsenal. Use Appropriate Timing Timing can make or break your Darth Vader pun experience. We’ve found that inserting these jokes at moments when they can add humor without disrupting the flow of conversation works best. Parties, casual gatherings, and light-hearted discussions provide perfect opportunities to drop a well-timed Vader joke. Avoid using them during serious conversations or formal settings where they might seem inappropriate or disruptive. Examples of Puns Star Wars-themed humor offers endless possibilities for creative wordplay. We’ve compiled some effective Darth Vader puns you can use: “Why did Darth Vader break up with his girlfriend? He found her too light-hearted.” “What’s Darth Vader’s favorite dessert? Dark side brownies.” “Why did Darth Vader become a musician? He wanted to play the dark side of the notes.” “What does Darth Vader use to navigate? A Darth GPS.” “Why did Darth Vader join the gym? He wanted to strengthen his grip on the dark side.” Contextual Use Adapting your Vader puns to fit the context of the conversation increases their impact. We suggest tailoring your jokes to match the current topic: During baking discussions: “Darth Vader prefers the dark chocolate side when it comes to baking.” While talking about travel: “Darth Vader uses a Darth GPS to find his way around the galaxy.” At barbecues: “What did Darth Vader say to the Emperor at the barbecue? I find your lack of sauce disturbing!” Avoid Overuse Moderation is key when deploying Star Wars humor. We advise using Darth Vader puns sparingly to keep them fresh and captivating. Bombarding conversations with too many puns can quickly become tiresome for listeners. Quality trumps quantity when it comes to delivering memorable jokes that will have everyone laughing rather than groaning. Be Mindful of the Setting Considering your environment helps avoid awkward situations. We recommend saving your best Vader material for casual settings where humor is welcome. Professional meetings, formal dinners, or serious discussions typically aren’t appropriate venues for Star Wars jokes. Remember that even the best pun can fall flat if delivered in the wrong setting. The Legacy Continues: Creating Your Own Original Darth Vader Puns Ready to join the dark side of humor? We’ve gathered expert tips to help you create your own memorable Darth Vader puns that will leave your friends impressed with your wit and command of the Force. Understanding the Character Fundamentals Darth Vader’s iconic status provides rich material for creating original puns. His intimidating presence, association with the dark side, and distinctive appearance offer many possibilities for wordplay. Before crafting your puns, familiarize yourself with his key traits—the mechanical breathing, imposing helmet, lightsaber skills, and famous quotes like “I find your lack of faith disturbing.” Play With Common Themes Successful Vader puns typically revolve around several established themes: Dark Side References: Incorporate phrases featuring “dark side” in unexpected contexts, such as “Why did Darth Vader become a baker? He kneaded the dark side.” Force-Related Wordplay: Use “force” as a versatile pun element like “Why did Darth Vader go to the gym? To get some ‘force’ behind his workout.” Breathing and Helmet Jokes: His distinctive respirator sound and headgear provide excellent material for humor, such as “What did Darth Vader say when his phone battery died? ‘I find your lack of charge disturbing.'” Technique: Creative Wordplay The foundation of great Vader puns lies in clever wordplay. Try substituting words in common phrases with Star Wars terminology. Examples include: “May the brew be with you” (for coffee situations) “Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only GPS” (for navigation humor) “I find your cooking skills impressive, but the dark side of the kitchen is where the real power lies” (for culinary contexts) Technique: Adapting Famous Phrases Transform Vader’s memorable quotes into unexpected situations: Take “I am your father” and create alternatives like “I am your farmer” for gardening jokes Modify “Join me, and together we can rule the galaxy” into “Join me, and together we can finish this crossword puzzle” Adjust “The Force is strong with this one” to fit scenarios like “The sauce is strong with this pizza” Technique: Situational Humor Place Vader in ordinary, everyday situations for humorous contrast: Darth Vader at a band tryout: “I wanted to be the lead ‘Sith’ in a rock band” Vader dealing with technology: “Why did Darth Vader’s helmet go to therapy? It had a lot of ‘breathing room’ to work through” Vader in professional settings: “What’s Darth Vader’s favorite workplace policy? Choking up the corporate ladder” Tips for Refining Your Puns Creating truly original Vader puns requires these finishing touches: Test your puns on fellow Star Wars fans before a wider audience Keep them concise – the best puns are quick and punchy Use unexpected combinations of Vader traits with unrelated topics Avoid overused puns that everyone has heard before Consider your audience’s knowledge of Star Wars lore By applying these techniques and drawing inspiration from existing examples, we can all embrace our inner Sith Lord of Humor and create puns that would make even Emperor Palpatine crack a smile. When to Deploy Your Darth Vader Puns for Maximum Impact Social Gatherings and Parties Star Wars themed parties are the perfect battleground for your Darth Vader puns to truly shine. We’ve found that dropping lines like “Why did Darth Vader always carry a pencil? Because he wanted to be a ‘sharp’ Sith Lord” creates an instant connection with fellow fans. Sci-fi gatherings particularly appreciate humor about Vader’s favorite dessert being “dark chocolate mousse” – a pun that combines his dark side persona with culinary humor. These jokes work exceptionally well as icebreakers when meeting new people at themed events. Online Platforms and Social Media May the 4th presents a golden opportunity to unleash your Vader puns on social media where engagement typically spikes for Star Wars content. Our favorite approach is sharing witty one-liners like “If I had a lightsaber for every pun I made, I’d be the Sith Lord of Humor!” across platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Star Wars fan groups and forums particularly appreciate creative puns that reference the franchise while adding an original twist. Engagement metrics show that these types of puns often receive more shares and comments than generic Star Wars content. Casual Conversations Lightening the mood in everyday discussions becomes effortless with well-timed Vader puns. Try asking friends “Why was Darth Vader bad at sports?” followed by “He always choked under pressure!” to instantly transform a lull in conversation into laughter. Food-related gatherings offer perfect opportunities for puns like “What did Darth Vader say to the Emperor at the barbecue? ‘I find your lack of sauce disturbing.'” These casual deployments work best when the conversation naturally touches on topics like movies, villains, or sci-fi. Creative Content and Writing Blogs, articles, and social media captions benefit tremendously from strategic Vader pun placement. Writers can enhance their work with lines such as “If Darth Vader were a comedian, he’d definitely slay with these puns!” to create captivating hooks for readers. Content creators focusing on entertainment topics have successfully used Vader jokes to boost engagement and create memorable pieces. Comedy scripts particularly benefit from references like “These puns are so good, they should be in the Death Star’s comedy club!” Timing and Delivery Perfect timing transforms an average pun into comedic gold. We’ve discovered that delivering Vader jokes during natural pauses in conversation creates maximum impact rather than forcing them into ongoing discussions. Responding to relevant topics with a line like “Why did Darth Vader turn off the light? He prefers the dark side!” demonstrates skillful timing. The delivery should match Vader’s authoritative tone for added effect, especially when mimicking his characteristic breathing pattern before delivering the punchline. Audience Consideration Understanding your audience’s Star Wars knowledge determines which puns will resonate most effectively. Casual fans respond well to widely recognized references like “Luke, I am your father” puns, while dedicated enthusiasts appreciate deeper cuts referencing expanded universe elements. Real estate conversations become instantly more entertaining with jokes about Vader wanting to “build a Death Star-tup.” Gauging your audience’s familiarity with the franchise helps you select puns that will generate genuine laughs rather than confused looks. These Aren’t the Jokes You’re Looking For: Puns to Avoid While Darth Vader provides rich material for comedy, some puns might fall flat or become overused. We’ve identified several jokes that even the Dark Lord himself would find disturbing. Overused Classics The “dark side” pun has been utilized countless times in various formats. “Why did Darth Vader turn off the light? He prefers the dark side” ranks among the most repeated jokes in the Star Wars universe. Similarly, sports-related puns like “He always choked under pressure” have become predictable references to Vader’s Force-choking tendencies. Too Forced Some puns stretch too far to make connections. “What’s Darth Vader’s favorite dessert? Dark chocolate mousse” tries to capitalize on the “dark” theme but lacks the clever wordplay that makes great puns work. The “What did Darth Vader say when he lost at poker? I find your lack of luck disturbing!” joke simply substitutes one word in his famous quote without adding meaningful humor. When Timing Fails Certain jokes might miss their mark based on context. Using “When Darth Vader said, ‘I’ve got a bad feeling about this,’ he meant it!” during serious conversations can create awkward moments rather than laughter. Investment jokes like “Why did Darth Vader invest in real estate? He wanted to build a Death-Star-tup!” often fall flat unless you’re specifically discussing finances with fellow fans. Relationship Humor Gone Wrong Relationship puns such as “Why did Darth Vader break up with his girlfriend? She wasn’t force-sensitive enough” can come across as forced or uncomfortable in mixed company. These jokes work better among close friends who share your Star Wars enthusiasm than in broader social settings. Cross-Character Confusion Puns that mix up Star Wars lore might irritate dedicated fans. “What does Darth Vader check when he wants to know something? Wookiepedia” confuses character knowledge, as Vader isn’t typically associated with research or curiosity about Wookiees. Accuracy matters when crafting puns for true enthusiasts. The Groan Zone Some jokes elicit more groans than laughs. “What do you get when you cross an elephant with Darth Vader? An ele-Vader” represents the type of pun that might be too simplistic for most audiences. Similarly, the Christmas joke where “Darth Vader tells Luke, ‘I felt your presents'” relies on an obvious play on words that most find predictable. Conclusion: Embracing Your Inner Sith Lord of Comedy We’ve journeyed through the galaxy of Darth Vader puns from workplace humor to parenting jokes and everything in between. These witty wordplays aren’t just laughs—they’re a testament to how deeply Star Wars has influenced our culture. Whether you’re a lifelong fan or just discovering the dark side of humor there’s something undeniably satisfying about a well-crafted Vader pun. The most powerful jokes combine understanding of the character with perfect timing and delivery. So go ahead and unleash your creativity! With the force of humor at your command you’ll soon be winning laughs across the galaxy. Just remember that even Sith Lords know when to use their powers wisely—choose your moments and your audience well and you’ll never find yourself on the dark side of comedy. The Stevedore's: What Lies They Tell by Michael Sanchez https://a.co/d/02wmb3Y
The winter of 1960 was cold and the life near water was unpleasant for the poor souls who had to make a living working full-time at the Nosemelc, New Jersey shipyard.
You could here the horn blaring throughout the terminal compound while simultaneously a yellow light would begin blinking on and off letting everyone know that they had to be at their stations before the light went dark. It was a signal that was most dreaded unless it was a red light, then you knew that danger was looming.

Setting the conditions for your writing + more tips
I think it’s no secret that your stories not only depend on your skills, but also on other aspects. You could be as skilled as King or Rowling, but if the conditions don’t match to your personal liking, then your stories won’t turn out as good as they could be. But what conditions am I referring to? In this post, I’ll list 3 important aspects that you may need to keep in mind, while you write.
Keep in mind, the following tips are based on my personal opinion. They don’t have to work for every writer and if another method works better for you, feel free to apply that to your writing procedure. I just hope that my tips can help some struggling writers out.
In any case, let’s begin!
1. Time of day
When is the best time to write? That depends on the person. Some write, the moment they wake up, others do so in the afternoon and the rest are night owls, such as myself.
I write during the night, as it’s usually very calm and peaceful around that time, and it does not distract me from my writing. During the day, I am usually busy with other activities, so nighttime is the only way for me, to write to the best of my abilities.
Always make sure that you’ll pick a time to write, where you’re the most comfortable. That’s mandatory, if you want to become a skilled writer.
2. Consistency
Of course, you’re not always motivated to write. Even I have times when I feel completely fed up and simply don’t want to touch the story project at all. Believe me, I get that.
But sometimes you have to force yourself a bit. If you just write whenever you want, then you’re not going to make it very far. If you want to take writing seriously, you have to be consistent about it.
The principle is similar as to visiting the gym. If you don’t stick to an exercise routine, then you won’t get to see the results. If you write every day, then this activity feel as natural to you, as breathing air or drinking a cup of water. Indeed, it has to feel that natural to you.
Even if you’ll just write 10 words, then that’s already enough to develop a routine. And that’s what matters in the long run.
(Though please write a bit more than 10 words a day, as you won’t get very far otherwise, when it comes to your stories.)
3. Music
Another important aspect, is music. Music can influence our mood, that’s a fact. So why not use music, to improve your writing?
For example, if you want to write a tragic story for example, then it’s best to put up a sad and slow song. That way, you can actually feel the pain that the characters are going through and can implement it into the story, very well.
But don’t listen to the same song over and over again. Have a playlist with similar songs, in order to not get bored and to give you fresh, new ideas. It works pretty well, as it helped me in the past.
For example, when I first wrote my novel “6.49 PM: Peaceful Amends”, I wanted to give it a more apocalyptic atmosphere and therefore, looked for dystopian songs. In the end, I found a song in a YouTube video from the movie, “Oblivion”. It fit perfectly to the tone of my story and so, I listened to its OST over and over again, while writing the chapters of my novel. I don’t regret that decision whatsoever, as I managed to create quite a remarkable story, to say the least.
There are other things you need to keep in mind though. For one, don’t listen to the music too long, while you’re writing, as you may get exhausted from listening to the music, while also staring at the screen. Small breaks are necessary, in order to keep your mind sharp and focused.
Oh and, don’t play the music at such a loud volume, as it may not only damage your ears, but may also distract you.
(I can’t count the times, when I suddenly stopped writing and began to dance, much to my chagrin.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
And we reached the end! If you made it, till this part of the post then first of, thanks mate! I really appreciate that you took some time out of your schedule and spent in on myself.
If you loved this post, please leave a like and maybe a repost! It doesn’t cost you a dime, and you’ll not lose anything from it. Make sure to follow me too, for more tips and tricks, regarding writing.
Cheers!

Different genres of fictional books:
1. Fantasy: It is a genre of speculative fiction involving magical elements, typically set in a fictional universe and sometimes inspired by mythology and folklore. Fantasy is characterized by imaginary and unrealistic elements. Fantasies typically involve supernatural powers, like magic and magical creatures. Fantasy stories often contain elements of Medievalism, such as castles, knights, kings, magical swords, and references to ancient spells.
2. Historical fiction: It is literary genre in which the plot takes place in a setting related to the past events, but is fictional. An essential element of historical fiction is that it is set in the past and pays attention to the manners, social conditions and other details of the depicted period.
3. Romance: It refers to a type of genre fiction novel which places its primary focus on the relationship and romantic love between two people, and usually has an emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending.
4. Mystery: It is a fiction genre where the nature of an event, usually a murder or other crime, remains mysterious  until the end of the story. Often within a closed circle of suspects, each suspect is usually provided with a credible motive and a reasonable opportunity for committing the crime. The central character is often a detective, who eventually solves the mystery by logical deduction from facts presented to the reader. Some mystery books are non-fiction. Mystery fiction can be detective stories in which the emphasis is on the puzzle or suspense element and its logical solution.
5. Thriller: is a genre of fiction, having numerous, often overlapping subgenres. Thrillers are characterized and defined by the moods they elicit, giving viewers heightened feelings of suspense, excitement, surprise, anticipation and anxiety. Suspense is a crucial characteristic of the thriller genre. It gives the viewer a feeling of pleasurable  fascination and excitement mixed with apprehension, anticipation, and tension. These develop from unpredictable, mysterious, and rousing events during the narrative, which makes the viewer or reader think about the outcome of certain actions.
6. Crime fiction: Crime fiction, detective story, murder mystery, mystery novel, and police novel are terms used to describe narratives that centre on criminal acts and especially on the investigation, either by an amateur or a professional detective, of a crime, often a murder. Crime fiction has multiple subgenres, including detective fiction, courtroom drama, and legal thrillers. Suspense and mystery are key elements that are nearly ubiquitous to the genre.
7. Fairy Tale: an instance of folklore genre that takes the form of a short story. Such stories typically feature mythical entities such as dwarfs, dragons, elves, fairies, mermaids, talking animals,  unicorns, or witches, and usually magic or enchantments.

Timeline of EVERYTHING
REMEMBER, PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. THIS WILL PROBABLY HURT YOUR BRAIN BECAUSE IT SURE FUCKING HURT MINE AND I WROTE THIS
**CONTAINS EXTREME SPOILERS DO NOT READ IF U HATE SPOILERS**
A.R.I.A.
"There are three versions of the story: yours, mine, and the truth"
The beginning of it all; Aria Antonova is nothing more than an algorithmist, dabbling with field work when she becomes bored. She spends her time writing computer algorithms for MI6 to protect the servers and agents, the entirety of MI6 at her fingertips. Everything is there for her to see, including the dirty secrets.
These secrets get her in trouble. One day, the man behind the corruption within MI6 catches onto the fact that she knows and makes it his mission to destroy her. Aria must go on the run to save herself, leaving behind her husband and two kids.
She teams up with a Gregori Taturn, an ex-assasin that was cast out by MI6 when he got too close to uncovering the same corruption she uncovered. Together they make it their mission to topple the anarchy within Her Majesty's Secret Service, but even with their shared motive, their tactics are far from harmonious.
Gregori likes killing. He likes feeling the blood of MI6 agents soak into his hands; he likes getting vengeance. Aria only wants to get the money she needs to finally disappear from MI6's radar for good, but he demands they get retribution for everything that has been forced upon them.
Slowly, Aria's resolve starts slipping. A little death never hurt anybody, right? Wrong.
No longer acting of her own volition, but rather under Gregori's cruel suggestions, they begin hunting down members of a very wealthy Greek family: the Brenards. With each death their is an insurance payout, and they begin making enough money to finally escape. They even dabble in the selling of Mortala, a bioweapon that has the ability to topple governments. For a while, their adventures are lucrative.
But then the money dries up. MI6, now declaring Aria's criminal organization an enemy of the state, begin sending agents to protect the Brenards from these ill-timed deaths. However, their plan doesn't stop there. They are too desperate.
Binary
"You smoke?"
"You kill people. I don't think you can judge me for smoking."
Lucianne Monet is a new graduate of a world-known tech institute, and an even newer hire within MI6. With bright neon hair and Aspergers, she sure doesn't fit in within the world of business suit agents and strict confidentiality laws. Thankfully, she doesn't have to deal with too many people.
Until JR Catalina graduates from the Junior Academy, that is. Snarky and a little too mischievous for her own good, Lucianne is assigned to her as her communication liaison in hopes that her guidance will keep the wild agent at bay.
For a while, this plan works. JR does her job as an MI6 Black Widow, and Lucianne gets her through dangerous situations with the helping of the A.R.I.A algorithm, calm words and quick computer skills. They begin getting into a rhythm with one another, their initial dislike dissolving into nothing short of admiration. Lucianne teaches JR how to enjoy life more and act less like the robot she was trained to be and in return JR teaches her how to fight and read people.
Their relationship evolves, and before long they are sharing an apartment together and laughing way into the night. Their friendship strengths through their time together, and when JR transfers from the Black Widow program to being an Intelligence Officer, Lucianne follows her. Their first mission together: protect Liam Brenard.
Radio Silent
"I know I shouldn't hate you for leaving me, but I can't help myself sometimes."
Liam Brenard grew up into a family of millionaires, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have his fair share of heartbreak. Within a few months half of his family is dead from freak accidents, causing him to closet himself from the outside world. Only a family friend, Selene, and his best friend, Colin Beck, can reach him. Selene and Colin stick close to him as he attends funerals and grieve the loss of his family, vowing to never leave him alone.
Until Colin does. One day, Liam gets the news that his childhood best friend has died in an accident, only he knows it isn't one. Colin had been there for everyone, but had never been there for himself.
And then Selene disappears, too, without a word of warning. Liam is left spiraling into a depressing demise, having lost the only people that had mattered to him.
One day, he gets a letter in the mail from the International Racing League stating he has finally earned a set in one of their upper-level cars. It is a goal both he and Colin had been working towards since they first starting karting at six years old.
For a minute, he allows himself to decline the offer. How could he possibly compete in the IRL without his best friend by his side? Then one day, after months of avoiding doing so, he allows himself to watch a race again, and discovers that racing connects him to Colin in ways he never thought possible.
So he goes for it. He accepts the offer and enters the world of IRL as a rookie, unsure of what is waiting ahead of him. Throughout the season he fights to prove that he deserves his seat, sporting number 66 in honor of Colin the entire way. Because no matter what, they are together in this, even through the barriers of death.
Happy
"I'm so happy until you get to all the reasons I'm not."
Danton William is the son of legendary IRL racer Lachlan Williams, much to his dismay. Fans of IRL fawn over his father, oblivious to the hideous man lurking underneath, but Danton knows. A little too well.
Unable to escape the racing genes he shares with his father, he joins the IRL as a Blue Crescent driver, completing the duo alongside fellow rookie Max Janssen. Navigating his first year is a lot easier with Max around, even as the drama of his father comes to a wicked boil.
As the season progresses, spectators and the media alike start to compare Danton to his father, stating that the son is the lesser. Danton tries to ignore their words, but even he can only handle so much before cracking. And cracking he does.
Suddenly, Lachlan's nasty habits come to light, and suddenly Danton's rookie season becomes even worse. Only Cora Harris, an internet friend that he has fallen in love with, keeps him on his feet as he fights not only on track but also off as he protects his own reputation.
They always say that the sins of the father carry to the son, but for once it simply isn't true. He fights to get people to see that he is his own person, separate from his father, and slowly he begins to convince them of it. He keeps his head down, competing with Max to bring their team to new heights. By the end of the season he has not only proven himself worthy of the IRL, but also that blood isn't always thicker.
Anesthesia
"When you can't beat the odds... change the game."
Pierre O'Malley is a bit of a genius. Having graduated high school and undergrad early, he is only of the youngest people in all of France to have an MD within reach. Sadly, all of his intellect can't save him from his horrible classmates, and after a particularly awful event at a party, he leaves med school for good, his love for medicine not outweighing the urge to leave everything behind.
He flies to London on the off chance of seeing his old friend Andre Julliard again, hoping that his offer of becoming an engineer for his IRL team still stands. It does, and before Pierre knows it he is being asked to take Andre's seat when he retires at the end of the year.
With nothing else to hang onto, he agrees, launching himself into a world he never thought imaginable. Before long he is excelling within the sport, trading Buick Italia for a better team and a much shiner teammate, rookie Landon Karnes. Everything is going to plan, and he can't be happier.
But like everything, his past come back to haunt him. Secrets of what happened at the med school begins finding its way into the gossip of IRL, and suddenly secrets Pierre much rather wouldn't acknowledge are out in the open for the whole world to see. He hasn't even come to terms with the fact that he is gay, but here he is, suddenly the face of the #onerace IRL campaign. His worst nightmares come true in a matter of days, but he is determined not to let it get to him. He had let go of everything else in his life because it was too hard, but he's never had something that was worth fighting for like the IRL was. And in spite of it all, he is determined to come out the other side of this, better than when he started.
Race For Your Life
"You are a secret agent named JR Catalina Varshavski who just shot a fucking assassin?"
During a race in Paris, a naked girl with no memory of who she is runs onto track, almost colliding with the IRL car of Max Janssen. The race is stopped and the girl is brought into the garage, where she is assessed for injuries.
The racers begin to take a liking to her right away, adopting her and giving her her own name until she can remember for herself: Nona.
Right away, Liam Brenard recognizes her, realizing that the random girl they found isn't so random, but rather Selene, his friend from his teenage years. But maybe it isn't. Maybe his mind is playing wishful tricks on him.
Except, he isn't wrong. Slowly, Nona's memory begins resurfacing, and she realizes that she is much more than a simple twenty-two year old. She is rather JR Catalina of MI6, tasked with keeping Liam Brenard safe while hunting down those who want him and his family killed. During one of her missions she was kidnapped by Gregori Taturn, where she was tortured and nearly killed. She barely escaped with her life, only suffering mild memory damage.
Now leading a double life, she resumes her job within MI6 while simultaneously keeping herself undercover as Nona, but it isn't easy. Between realizing her brother, who faked his death, is not only alive but also her boss, being hunted down by Gregori every living moment, and trying to keep her cover while sneaking off to do official MI6 business, it becomes hard to keep her two lives separate. It doesn't help that she is slowly coming to enjoy the racers' company, and that she's fallen in love with MacDuffal racer Landon Karnes.
Eventually, she has to expose herself to the other drivers. They are sent to a safe house while she is sent to track down her mother, who she discovered was the person trying to kill her friends. She gets together a group of special elite agents, gaining the help of Pierre O'Malley and the Bravo team when Pierre is exposed as a triple agent for MI6.
Storming Aria's mansion, they manage to take her down, but not without a few casualties. Those included are JR's father and brother, Danton Williams, a team member named Filip Janota, and even JR barely escapes with her own life.
Aria's empire starts to crumble as JR returns to the racers. The racing season ends with everyone severely thankful to have made it out alive, and before the season closes out for good, Landon proposes to her. She says yes, of course.
Bravo
"In order of the British Secret Intelligence Service, give up your weapon."
In the world of MI6, there are two teams: the A-list and Bravo. The A-list are the notorious ones whose names her emblazoned into the agency's history: Claesson, Varshavski, Catalina. They are the ones that get into the hall of fame, the ones that get all the fame and glory, but they never could complete any of their missions without the help of the Bravo agents.
Bravo is a recruiting agency tasked with finding civilians with unique skill sets, recruiting them into a large tactical team network. Amongst them are August Brady, Fatima Hadid, Alice Madlock, Joey Slade, Owen Steele, and Beckham Well, otherwise known as the best of the best. And now, they have a new addition to their team. Pierre O'Malley.
While JR Catalina wages a war against Aria Antonova with her group of agents, the Bravo team get busy training Pierre for battle. But violence doesn't always wait until you are fully ready, and Pierre is ripped away from the Bravo compound and sent out into the field with the others.
Working quietly, they begin dismantling Aria's army. They jump from location to location, taking over bases and giving JR the chance to face Aria when her defense are the weakest. They may their way across the continent, tracking down and destroying those against them, making their way towards Aria's mansion for the final battle.
Together, the Bravo team works with JR and her team to storm the mansion. They cut off Aria's only chance at escape and successfully complete their mission, Pierre leading then to victory.
As JR leaves to receive praise from MI6, those in Bravo catch a train back to the Bravo base, getting their celebratory Krispy Kreme like always. They invite Pierre to always come for a visit, knowing that once you go into war together, no amount of life circumstances can keep them apart. Once Bravo, always Bravo.
Abandoned By The Devil
"I am NOT like my mother. At least, I hope not."
Growing up in Tallahassee, Florida, Isla Antonova never would have thought she came from a long line of Russian spies that worked for MI6. She only ever knew that her mother wasn't too found of her, and that she wasn't wanted.
Growing up with a mother that was too occupied plotting murders to care for her own daughter was hard, but it wasn't so bad with her friend, Parker, by her side and Officer Isaac Pruitt watching after her. She finds herself in a semi-normal life, that is until she is kidnapped by people wanting to know where her mother is.
That is when things begin clicking into place. Her mother is Aria Antonova, a wanted criminal, and she wants to kill the MI6 causing her so much trouble. Those agents are none other than Nikolai and Milo Varshavski and JR Catalina, otherwise known as Isla's father, brother, and sister. Isla begins realizing that their life in Tallahassee isn't everything it seems to be, and after a near-death experience at the hands of her mother, she runs away, never looking back.
She joins the United States Army as soon as she is able to, dedicating her life as a combat medic helping keep people whole admist the ravages of war. The bombs flying overhead are enough to distract her from thoughts of her mother and the mysterious family she knows nothing about.
One day, in am unfortunate accident, Isla's base is blown apart by insurgents. Many of her friends are killed in the battle but she escapes, but not without brain damage that will cause her to suffer from seizures for the rest of her life.
She takes her discharge from the Army as a chance to find out more about her family. Finding only JR on the internet, she flies to her last location of Manchester, England, hoping to run into her.
And run into her she did.
Braking Point
"If I'm such a problem, then kill me."
JR Catalina has retired from MI6 after irreversible nerve damage compromised her ability to perform in the field. Instead of being down about it, she steps away from the life only life she's ever known and builds a new one, one involving Landon and the IRL. She spends her time training the racers and working at Wood Haven, her organization she founded to help women escaping abuse. The only problem she has is getting pregnant.
Then she rescues a pink haired girl from getting jumped one day, and everything she has left behind comes rushing back. Because the girl she has rescued is none other than the Isabella Andrea Frederick Glucksburg, Crown Princess of Denmark, and the men she rescued her from are part of the Forgårs Brothers, assassins sent to kill her, JR is thrust back into the world of protective details and secrets.
Much to her husband's dismay, she leaves to protect the princess. She reunites with those who helped her take Aria Antonova down five years prior along with a few new faces, including twin snipers Zayne and Archer Claesson and her very own, new found sister, Isla Antonova. They find their way to Copenhagen, where she is taken back to her Black Widow days and is tasked with seducing and gathering information from Julius MacIntyre, the leader of the Forgårs.
As she fights with the others to complete their mission, she begins realizing that MI6 isn't the noble organization she thinks it is, but rather full of corruption. She begins working alongside Nadya Volkova, a fellow agent from the Junior Academy, to uncover these secrets, putting herself into immense danger from the Joker.
In the end, the Joker gets too close, and JR must fake her death to protect those she loves. They are left grieving over the loss of their friend, godmother, and sister. Landon looses himself to this grief, mourning the loss of not only his wife, but their unborn child that he found out less than a week prior to the tragedy.
Lubovnik
Away from everyone in a safe house, JR Catalina is left to raise her son, Riley, alone. She keeps tabs on those she left behind and writes letters to Landon, unable to let go of of everyone, must to Nadya Volkova's dismay.
She begins hunting down Mortala, catching wind of a plot to topple the Danish government with this nerve agent. She helps Andrea keep her country stable from the sidelines, unable to completely step away from helping those she cares about.
For three years, she builds a reputation as a crime boss and raises her child, wishing everyday for the day when she can come out of hiding and allow Landon to meet Riley. But for now, until the danger to her loved ones has completely vanished, she must find a home within the shadows.
Call Me Royal
"I am currently procrastinating my coronation."
Andrea is trying to get a handle on her new position within the Danish government. Between the parliament nagging her for every decision she makes, the country holding its breath waiting for her to mess up, and the threat that someone is still out there watching her, she just about has enough of everything having to do with being a Danish Queen. As her Coronation comes up I'm conversation for the millionth time she finally snaps. She runs away just as she did all those years ago, back into the loving arms of Landon Varshavski.
Landon hasn't changed in the three years she has been gone. He's still mourning the loss of his wife and still racing. The other racers are the same as she remembers. The simplicity of Manchester and the IRL is exactly what she needs to get her head back on straight.
Until one night her advisor stumbles into the living room of Landon's house, declaring that government officials have been going missing, only to return dead by the hands of a nerve agent a few days later. He demands she do something as acting monarch.
With the help of a mysterious presence that has been watching her, Andrea begins uncovering pieces of an illegal drug trade selling Mortala, the cause of her nobles' untimely death. As she cracks cases she stays with the racers, working on bettering herself as well as saving her country.
The mysterious presence begins getting closer as she begins uncovering dangerous plots. One day she gets jumped by a fewer seller of Mortala, almost unable to escape with her life. At the last minute the mysterious figure steps in to save her, and it is revealed that the figure is none other than JR Catalina back from the dead.
After a few tear-jerking reunions, JR and Andrea team up to take down the Mortala trade and manufacturing. With JR's insider knowledge into the trade, and with every available agent from their past, the girls manage to take down the kingpin and save Denmark from a horrible fate.
Legacies
"Aren't you satisfied?"
"Not nearly."
A lot can change in 17 years. Racers retire. Kids grown. The children of legacies begin infiltrating their parents sports.
Meet Tess Janssen. Eldest daughter to Max Janssen, she is nothing short of her father's echo. She grows up on the IRL race track, helping mechanics and racing for herself in the Femme Force. Everything is perfect, until one day the Femme Force looses its funding and is forced to shut down.
Tess gets the legendary opportunity to race for Buick Italia, a lower-level IRL racing team, as the first ever female within the league. Alongside Jimena Montez, aka the Ice Queen, Tess enters this male dominated sport with a huge fight ahead of her.
Along the way she meets the son of Liam Brenard, one of her father's best friends. Sebastien Brenard is soft and kind and enjoys the girls' company.
There are others, however, like Ashton Walker, who would much rather see her destroyed than compete against her for the world title. He does everything in his power to get her to quit, including threatening her little sister and reenacting their shared history. When she doesn't falter, he steps up his game.
Tess must compete against Ashton and the other eighteen drivers on the grid to prove that females belong in their league just as much as they do. She trains and hunts for racing secrets, fighting to win this campionship. If she doesn't, her and Jimena must give up the IRL. If she does, the Femme Force gets refunded.
It's a hard battle, and she tries everything to win, but in the end it isn't enough. When Jimena and Tess cross the finish line beautifully tied for second, they are closer than they've ever been, but their new found bond isn't enough to save the Force.
Or is it?

How To Create A Writing Schedule
@writingwithacutlass on Instagram! Please don't repost without credit!
🥥 goals
think of a realistic goal you want to achieve with your writing. this can be a daily, weekly, or monthly goal. make sure it's realistic and achievable! your goal could be word count, time spent writing, or by chapters. create a goal that fits your needs personally. everyone's writing journey is unique, so remember what you actually want to achieve and not comparing your schedule to others. everyone writes at a different pace.
☕ plan ahead
plan ahead! maybe set your word count goal a little higher for the weekends, or if you're going somewhere and won't be able to write on one day, you can divide the goal between the days around it and work to stay on track even if you can't write for a day. it would also be a good idea to let your family or whoever you live with know that you're writing at a certain time each day so that you'll be interrupted less.
🎞️ reward yourself
reward yourself when you achieve your goal! this keeps you motivated to achieve it and lets you relax a little bit after working so hard. give yourself breaks as much as you need and practice selfcare. a few ideas for reward: when you reach your daily word count you get your favorite snack, or if it's weekly then go out with your friends and have fun. be nice to yourself :)
🕰️ balance with life
writing probably isn't the main purpose of your life. most of you have school/uni or a job, and that takes up most of our time. my advice is: don't set your goal too high and take advantage of the weekends and days off. personally i become really lazy on the weekends but i try to push myself to sit down and crank out a few hundred words, until i get into the flow and i'm glad i have hours of time to write for two days. use your time wisely, you'll thank yourself later!
📜 routine
i suggest setting aside a certain time to write. you can split it up, for example 15 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening, or you can set aside an hour before bed (that's what i do). make sure you actually try to keep this schedule! put reminders in your phone. i always have the nanowrimo tab open so i'm constantly reminded that i need to meet my nano goal (nanowrimo website is also great for setting goals and keeping track of word count!!) make it a habit to write every day!
Hope this helps, have a great day!!
