Full collection of shots of my WIP! Absolutely taking my time with this one because of how personal it is to me! This piece visualises my experience with depersonalisation. I personally love how my style has developed so quickly this year, it makes me feel more comfortable and confident that I'm expressing myself visually rather than becoming a writhing ball of gloom about how I'm feeling. Feeling so detached from reality is a super scary thing at times 😖 recently I experienced a really bad episode where I lost control of myself completely, I felt like I had no control of my thoughts and my body. When I came around, I found that I'd walked over 100 yards, out of my house and into the pouring rain late at night looking for my mum who I knew was in my house at the time. It felt like I had two completely different thought processes going at the same time, one where I was in a blind panic convinced my mum was gone, (the half where I had control of my body) and the other half of me felt like I was just floating above my head, watching where I was taking myself and couldn't control my body. I was so afraid that I was going to cause serious harm to myself at the time, because if I hadn't have snapped back, I would've walked myself right onto a really busy road. This is where this piece comes in. I was listening to Tool one night, the song "Right in Two" and it just connected with me on some sort of weird level, it gave me my visual idea of how to express how I was feeling. "Cut it all, right in two."
