I had similar issues, but some of it was slightly different.

My flavour of neurodivergence was "peers want me dead, but authority figures have an automatic soft spot for me". But those same authority figures are mostly neurotypical, and seemed to be unable to wrap their heads around how widely disliked I really was. Sometimes they try to help, but those methods either involved thinking that I was somehow the only problem in the situation, or genuinely try to back me up in a way that backfires horrendously & worsens my peers' perception of me (despite me telling the figure, no, don't do this, you'll make it worse), thus leading to worse alienation but better concealed.

They think they're justified, or doing what's right. They may care about me, but they care about their biases & how the world is to them even more. I think this is all best summed up by this quote from my parents, from when I asked about the death of my grandfather.

"You didn't feel anything. Not that you've ever felt much of anything your whole life."

After all, objects cannot be hurt.

every piece of ""autistic representation"" in hollywood sucks not just because of the infantalization and inspiration porn but because movie executives always fail to realize the real universal autistic experience: spending your childhood slowly and unfalteringly realizing all of your friends not so secretly hated and/or merely tolerated you at best and you've missed every social signal about it ever

it's fairly likely that i gained my First Hyperfixation not long after gaining sentience. not only is it still going, i have two physical manifestations of said fixation in my house right now. i am fairly sure they're currently trying to hunt my hair ties.

You might think book bans are fascist but sometimes you do have to limit what a kid can read. If you let a Greek history book or an atlas or even just a book about biology into the hands of an autistic kid it's basically game over

I have to put my dog to sleep today.

He has a brain tumor. He's had one for a while. His life has only gotten worse since the first seizure a few months ago. He had 4 yesterday. One after the other. We took him to a hospital. It likely isn't operable. If it is, he might not survive the surgery anyway. If he does, he might not be himself anymore. There isn't much left to do.

He was supposed to turn 8 in a few weeks. Ever since the first seizure, his life has been miserable. On a bunch of daily meds that fuck him up. Gained weight because of them and it's made him more miserable. He doesn't sleep right and neither do we. We always worry he'll have another seizure during the night. We could barely afford any treatments. We were lucky that someone happened to recommend a hospital we could sort of pay for, that could actually help him. In another country. We had to drive to a neighboring country to get him help. Life has a price tag in the country we live in.

Turned out to be too late anyway.

I'm taking a break for a little while. I'll be back. I just need time to myself. Everything hurts
