funny that in a few short hours ao3 manages to exceed their donation goal, but wikipedia has been begging for donations for a longgggg time and i dont think they ever get any 😭

Legit I look at the characters and ships tags, if that's what I want then I skim the other tags, if that's still looking good I look at the summary, and that is typically the deciding factor. If it doesn't look like something you'll be happy reading, you don't have to read it. No one will know you don't want to read their stuff. It's up to you. Also, the first paragraph is often what makes or breaks it if I end up making it that far

Also before all this I filter my preferences

Another AO3 thing I’m curious about, how do yall decide if something is good enough to read? Usually I follow a rule of 1 kudos for every 10 hits. One because it’s easy math and two it’s yet to fail me. Thoughts? Do you just go for it and pray it’s good?
