The Muse of Void Analysis
“To be, or not to be, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,

The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to: 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep, perchance to dream—ay, there's the rub:
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come…”
Greetings, the Mage of Blood here. All these books, which sweep past your ears with the rustle of their pages, paintings, which wild strokes confuse your eyes, are essentially reflections of someone's experiences. Surprisingly you see what is hidden from other people's hearts in its pristine form. However, it is not enough just to see something, it is important to be able to understand it. The value of this understanding is very familiar to the main character of our analysis.
The Void is a "heavy" aspect with indirect impact, paired with the Light. At first glance, it seems that its sphere describes purely information - a collection of signals which escaped our eyes and ears, forever hidden in the shadows and therefore forgotten and meaningless. Riddles that frighten and at the same time attract us at the border of the field of view. It is not for nothing that occultism is also associated with this aspect. But that's only at first glance. The Voidbound are incredibly intuitive folks, seemingly looking through what you can't know. And then where does this info come from? From where dreams come from... Yes, that's right, the Void directly embodies the Unconscious people and the images supressed there. Therefore, it is impossible to say that these are meaningless pieces of ideas - but rather imperceptible gears that move silently, supporting the rest of the mechanism. We may think something is not important, but in fact, without it, we would be completely different. And this is appreciated by the heroes of the Void. It is not the shine of the stone that is important for them, but its quality. Since this aspect is much more closely related to our psyche, its symbolism also includes the value of oneself, or rather, underestimation of one's strength, depreciation of ideals.
The Muse is a passive counterweight to the Lord, the Master Class. The Muse contributes to the definition of its aspect by strengthening its manifestation through the symbol that is more common in the system. Contrary to popular belief, the Muse and Lord of paired Aspects strive towards the same goal - the assistance in a crisis situation where there is too much of one aspect of the two and the other is too little - but in different ways. And it's the Muse and the Lord of the same aspect which are antagonistic. Thus, the Muse of Void was born in the most ferocious times when the Void in the world is dying out. And for a while they agree to feed the environment like a battery, cultivating this aspect in others. It seems to be the highest altruism, but truly the Muse pursues much more prosaic goals: to give others what they think is missing in themself. And this victim will not be in vain if others support them in return and not just become parasites on their neck. The Thieves, Rogues, Seers, Mages of all aspects are predisposed to the role of the Muse; as well as Heirs, Princes of Space, Life, Light, Breath, Mind, Hope and Maids, Sylphs of Time, Doom, Void, Blood, Heart and Rage.
What kind of mysterious person is this Muse of Void? They will certainly be very introverted. Intrigued by the finest layers of soul and personality, which we usually strive to hide. They are disgusted by the usual habit of flaunting yourself in society. As if your value directly depends on how successful others measure you, and rarely anyone is ready to look deeper into your neighbour than they provide on the surface. For the Muse of Void such pride is a nasty cacophony that distances from the essence of things. The Muse is used to catching the smallest details of faces, pieces of intonations, words, barely noticeable movements, trying to sincerely understand others without words. And why words, if we already unconsciously express everything we have in our hearts. But that's why our psyche encrypts these desires, because as soon as you show something, there is a risk it does not seem important to another. Your part, you're not important piece by piece...
The main character of our analysis understands this, as they have repeatedly been burned with shame for their desires. And even more often they have felt powerless that they could not bring the world in line with their inner vision. And when this realization reached its climax, the Muse allowed it to drown in the abyss of their Unconscious, so that instead of burning pain they only feel a peculiar but distinct desire not to exist. To some extent, it borders on the desire to die, but if on the Doom field we are talking about the final and inevitable destruction of the physical body, then in the case of the Void we are talking about the termination of awareness. Deprivation is primarily preferable to be described as sensory, but what's the use of the signals you get but can't decipher? Proof of our existence is not the ability to feel touch or taste, because people with a dead brain can also react to stimuli, but the ability to realize this feeling. The Void is by no means empty. It's just that the information is in its rawest form. And trying to recognize it by jumping beyond its capabilities will always lead to defeat. Again, if you compare it to Doom, you will grow stronger in the fight against fate, but the fight against the infinity of the Void of your desires and existence always only wastes energy. However, it's not bad, the Muse of the Void would say. Often to get rid of excess, you need to go back to the origins. And there's no need to be ashamed that there's nothing there that would be appreciated and cherished by others. Because having lost the whole world around you, your thought and your self continue to exist. And this experience of existence and the chance to "be" are already a treasure in itself. The Muse of the Void will remind each of us this with a silent look. And for their realization as a Master Class, they would like to hear back, standing on the verge of existence and the abyss: "Cogito ergo sum".
In terms of abilities, their manifestations will depend on the prevailing symbol of the Void in the system. The Muse will be kind of catalyst for all types of outbreaks of this kind. For example, dreams will become unusually deep and long, it is quite possible that it is in the dreams that the Muse will appear to the players and will gradually affect the course of events. It is possible to reorganise the memory of the characters with the darkening of those memories which once seemed significant. It is also possible that the appearance of the Muse may darken the light on the ground or, if you think about a more brutal method, cause blindness. At the same time, usually deprived players will be able to notice that all their senses are heated to the limit and now show them hidden details of the environment. For some reason, I think about using ultrasonic and infrasonic waves as weapons, but more for the purpose of self-defence of the Muse than attacks. After all, their desire is to show the beauty of the indescribable and unspoken... And no matter how you twist it, you can't do without ones spectating it.

The Muse of Life analysis
Good day, the Mage of Blood is here. Listen to the rustle of trees in the wind, which penetrate the room with branches. At this time, the riot of plants reaches its peak and they win back the territory from people. This can be seen not only in the hard-barked oaks, but also in the gentle-looking dandelions that make their way through the asphalt - all living things are in a hurry to live the life given to them. And the Muse of Life will agree that in this war any means can be put to good use.
Life is the "light" aspect, coupled with the Doom. Adaptability and genetic variability which allow us to survive more efficiently, pleasure from flexing your muscles, from eating food, from reproducing ourselves, in general, the satisfaction of instincts is its field. Everything that saturates and fills with energy to fight, be it the internal abilities and properties inherent in everyone from birth, or the subordination and domination of resources from the outside. And by resources we mean not only tools and food, but also symbols of power, economic or hierarchical. The rich and powerful of this world are most often full and fed up with their life, which is reflected in the connection between Life and sweets and money. However, it is dangerous to assume that Life is a frivolous aspect of permissiveness. Although it is opposed to the framework of the Doom, development is possible only when such a confrontation, a challenge, is possible. Therefore, pieces of paper acquire value only when there is an expediency to use them. When there is death breathing down your back, there is a need to evolve and become stronger. So Life is also the licking of wounds after the battle, it is also the sacrifice of those less able to fight. Alas, from the point of view of genetics, not everyone is equal - but it is in our power to turn the board of fate due to our work on ourselves. Lifebound are known for their "drive", vitality and perseverance. "If there is a will, there is a way." Often athletic, with a focus on physical development and self-development, these people are often interested in medicine, especially non-synthetic drugs and products that can be used "on the go." They are not supporters of passively meeting restrictions, but instead looking for loopholes to achieve their goals, which is why they often know how to survive in extremely difficult conditions. Sometimes this goes hand in hand with cruelty, although by heart many Lifebound love nature, animals and consider themselves inextricably linked with it. Sometimes their thirst for impressions even looks like greed, but what is the value of a life that has nothing to remember?
Muse is a passive Master class, analogous to the Lord. Its main function is to contribute to the definition of the aspect. In a system where its aspect has almost died, its Muse appears and its manifestation through the prevailing symbol is greatly enhanced. For example, if there is little Breath in the system, and for everyone Breath is mostly freedom, then after the arrival of the Muse of Breath, one can expect a lot of successful escapes from prisons. With similar success, the Lord of the opposite aspect can come to the rescue (for the Muse of Life, this is the Lord of Doom), because they pursue a similar goal, only he will suppress the aspect, which is too strong. If we talk about opposing Master classes, then for the Muse of Life it will be the Lord of Life. The inclination for the role of the Muse depends on the title of the person and its inversion, while Muse's aspect - on the aspect of the profile Seer role. The beauty of the Muse as a Master class is that its function is inextricably linked to the responsiveness of the system it feeds. Many people think that the Muses are able to endlessly share their aspect in some act of charity. But this is far from the truth: this supply MUST be replenished, because this Master class literally cultivates through others what it wants so much for themselves. The "hungry" Muse is weak and useless. And be sure that our Muse of Life will definitely demand their share in this matter. Debts must be returned!
It is easy to imagine the Muse of Life either growing up in slavery or in other difficult conditions - for example, in a dangerous area, during a war or famine. The conditions around must be extremely unfavorable for a large number of people to need the help of the Muse. Perhaps they will, to the best of their ability, feed homeless children or attach homeless animals to new homes. Here and there they stumble upon crowds of suffering people who, despite all their unhappiness, nevertheless have certain inclinations and qualities which promise a future. And the Muse of Life perfectly sees the potential of another person, no matter how weak they may seem from the outside. The Muse will not be shy to say directly: "Hey, stop whining and complaining about fate. As long as you are alive, everything can be solved! Look at what you can do." It may well be that they will look like a business or career guidance consultant, only with all these talents they work almost for free. Probably because they are forced to pay debts, moreover, not their own. There is a possibility of a darker interpretation - being ill with something severe and incurable, the Muse of Life nevertheless effectively supports other desperate patients. I can imagine the scene where they are about to avert someone depressed from committing suicide or self-harm, because who, if not doomed to death, knows what to enjoy in life in such a fleeting time? Unlike, for example, the Muse of Hope, which relies on the ideal, the Muse of Life will not sort out morality when it comes to survival: if you need to bite off a child’s head or die, you go and bite it off. Because this is about your life and there are no good or bad sides; There are things which are effective and there are things which are ineffective. Weakness and strength are situational, not permanent. The Muse of Life herself would like to have someone to support them, heal them ... But they cannot stand their weakness and are fixed on it so much that it seems as if they have no strengths either. And in the end, they take too many inevitable things personally, saying that I didn’t try hard enough to make everything better. The depressions of the Muse of Life are especially strong. And if, at the moment of the breakdown of their spirit, there is finally a person who will not only receive the help, but also offer their support in return, heal their wounds, “feed” them with aspect, then they will return even more assertive than ever. Because what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.
In terms of abilities, we can immediately say that it will become much easier for players to survive in the presence of the Muse of Life. Resources seem to grow under their feet, the experience gain can reach the point of absurdity - +10 XP for taking a breath, hooray, it's alive! For sure, players will also begin to discover previously unseen abilities in themselves, and the useless skill of folding the tongue into a tube will turn out to be a critical move in the next fight. I can’t say about the prevention of misfortunes and deaths, there will be almost more of them by default, but, suddenly, the body’s capabilities will be twisted to the maximum - so thanks to the accelerated division and maturation of stem cells, you will bleed and die from this much slowlier. Say thanks to the Muse for this, maybe you will patch yourself up until you kick the bucket. Well, do not forget that the accents of the manifestations of the aspect are shifting to one main one - so if earlier the Thief of Life was an effective killer, then at some point he will become an ordinary thief of gold, if Life is money in the system. In general, if you want to live - know how to roll.

The Muse of Hope analysis
Good day, the Mage of Blood here. This night is especially dark ... But I hope it won't stop you from relaxing. And the reflections of the fireplace create some kind of intimate and warm athmosphere with their crackling. Don't be afraid, I'll sit a little closer; it's uncomfortable to communicate across the table, isn't it? There are crispy biscuits and aromatic tea, help yourself. I would like you to allow yourself not to think about the burdens during our conversation, all problems will remain outside the door. And here you can let go of yourself and not be afraid to be vulnerable like a child. The heroine of our analysis, the Muse of Hope, is well aware of how each of us wants at least sometimes to plunge into the bliss of being accepted as we are.
Hope is the "light" aspect, paired with Rage. It is connected with our brightest and deepest aspirations and dreams. A child who trusted with the sincere naivette, who once felt the unconditional acceptance of his parents. This ideal, pleasant state of emotional connection with other people is celebrated in many cultures (the very image of paradise is essentially a metaphor of this state). It is acceptance, once separated and lost, that a person seeks in similar blissful states. Blinded by the passion for an object of their love, a believer praying in religious ecstasy, a drug-addict sailing away into dreams while high, comedians who make us smile and burst with laughter - all these people pay tribute to Hope.
Acceptance is impossible without the shadow personality traits, sometimes negative, so it would be wrong to exclude Rage as an important component of this state. However, if you still compare, then Hope is an idealized image, a concentrate of the beautiful and innocent traits that parents see in their child. But children are capable of terrible tantrums, so the Hopebound are just as impulsive as the Ragebound. It is the realm of strong, powerful emotions and states which make the impossible possible.
And without stubbornness in achieving their goals, the Hopebound would not be themselves. Since we are talking about achieving the ideal, very often they need to clearly know what is right and what is wrong, to follow the principles in order to live up to their dreams. For them life should be a party, where they won't regret spending their time filled with pleasure.
Muse is a passive class, together with the Lord it belongs to the Master classes. While I have talked of the Lord earlier as a class that defines the aspect according to their understanding, then for the Muse everything will be somewhat different. The Muse Contributes to the definition of the aspect, which means strengthening the symbol that prevails in the system in which the Muse appeared. For example, if we have a Muse of Light in a context where Light is literally the rays of the sun, await the white nights.
If information - academic performance and education of people around will begin to increase, etc. And the Muse appears when its aspect is exhausted to the max; there is so little of it that there is almost none. If we assume that Master Classes are inherent not only to cherubs, then the inclination to the role of the Muse among players depends on their title and submodel, and the aspect of the Muse depends on the aspect of the profile Seer.
Accordingly, the function of this Master class is to maximize the amount of aspect by combining the efforts of all participants in the system. This creates some codependency, because although the Muse nourishes others with the aspect, she does it so excessively that for the Muse herself there is almost nothing left. The Muse of Life feels lifeless, the Muse of Breath feels bound by her limbs.
The problem is solved by the fact that the environment should fill this Master class with an aspect anew. But such fate is the luck of the realized Muse, and the failed one, alas, remains "hungry". It is also worth noting that with the initial function of the "accumulator", Muse is far from being an altruist who is ready to rush to the aid of anyone she meets. Care, so active that sometimes imposed, and the need to be useful to others are more characteristic of Sylphs. The Muse differs from the latter in motivation and approach: she acts exclusively in the interests of the aspect, trying to preserve it, because the reflection of her emptiness in others is unbearable for her. In other words: by the example of the Muse of Life, she is surrounded by people breathing with Doom. And the Muse feels the same inevitability, this heavy aspect in herself. She rejects it, does not want to accept, so everything that will remind her of this, she would like to get out of sight.
And unlike the Lord of Doom's methods, this escape takes the form of helping: I am helping others because I don't know how to help myself. And the environment, in case of successful overcoming of the crisis, answers her: we will help you to learn how to help yourself, because we have learned from you how to help ourselves. Reflection of such a painful aspect for the Muse is also a part of this help. The inversion, but not in the usual sense, for the heroine of our analysis will be the Lord of Rage. The Lord of Hope is the opposite in function. Since the Muse of Hope is a close to my Master class on the aforementioned theory of inclinations, I will include in the analysis some phrases which help to imbue the spirit of this role which I have heard from unfortunate people. So that you would understand whom the Hopes of this Muse are addressed to.
"Even though I am a murderer, I wouldn't hurt you even in anger."
The Muse of Hope has learned from the early age that the world is filled with cruelty. Everything that is wrong in it catches the eye, screams in its agony. This is not the world that Muse would like to build. Not the one she sees in her dreams. The Muse of Hope believes and hopes that even in the darkest place there is a spark of light, there is always a thread of salvation. And very often it becomes the thread for others.
The Muse of Hope sees children exhausted in the struggle against the cruelty of the world in the repulsed, immoral individuals. Who are angry just to survive. Any perversion is just a perversion of good intentions, because they were not accepted in time. Pain is a consequence of the accumulation of negativity, because suffering was not accepted and shared. Aggression is an outburst of excess pain because the person cannot stand it. The Muse of Hope embodies all these axioms in behavior that allows anyone to relax next to her. The feeling that they see you again as a person and not a monster is captivating. And again I want to show my humanity in response. Even the hottest of heads instantly cool down.
"Frankness in exchange for frankness, but this is a secret nobody knows of me"
Therefore, the Muse of Hope will surely get sincerity in the words of other people. They open to her easily and freely, and many innermost secrets will be discussed with her. The Muse does not need to realize that she is an excellent listener and empathizer, but intuitively she succeeds in this. The person nearby will feel that they are being heard and listened to. And that in this conversation there is a place for their sorrows, and their joys, everything that they would like to entrust to their interviewer. And the Muse of Hope herself will almost never drive away a person in the need of support.
"Sorry for the strange request, but ... Can you poke me with a needle? I have no one else to ask, this is my only joy, I beg of you ..."
Such responsiveness will undoubtedly attract the most marginal groups of society. Those who were forgotten by the family, who are alone, who are on the sidelines. Anyone who is hungry for acceptance. Wherever the Muse of Hope goes, these people will find her. And the point is not even that she builds her context from such people, but that sometimes they can approach her just like that, on the streets. Because they feel that they can turn to the Muse of Hope, because she inspires confidence and does not look threatening.
"This is not really a speaking club: you see, we want to talk about our church. By the way, can you translate our speech?"
It is possible that the Muse of Hope will be associated with religion. But the communes, in which she will get, are unlikely to resemble the sanctuaries of God, where everyone loves each other and fights for peace in the world. Rather, they would be totalitarian sects, militant communities, where "whoever is not with us is against us!". Where "the Bible is built on metaphors, but they have only one interpretation, and you misunderstood them." Where "only our priest speaks of truth, and other communes only have false prophets". I even imagine a certain image of a "holy virgin" who is worshiped in a cult as an idol, but who feels more as a weapon for waging war than as a symbol of something holy.
"Please do not leave, I have no friends"
Alas, communication with such representatives of society does not pass without a trace. Sharing their pain, the Muse of Hope feels a hundredfold what it is like to be rejected and to be alone. What it feels like to be full of anger that you can't put away. And those who are suffering, wanting to share their burden and lighten their burden, will only come more. They are everywhere, hundreds, thousands of "hungry" for acceptance. They will never get enough, because not everyone is ready to change something, but they are always ready to take away from another. And therefore, when the Muse of Hope remembers her reciprocal desire to be heard, it turns out that these people have too much of their own burden to accept hers. They use her love, but do not love her in return.
"Before, I was afraid to get intimate with a girl, who I like, but I'm not afraid anymore. I don't need you anymore, we need to break up."
Bringing back hope to the desperate, the Muse of Hope longs most of all for someone, at least one person, to answer her in return. Not to be driven away, having learned that she is not cute, and not kind, and not kind-hearted.
So that she could open her heart in front of another person in the same way, expose the blackness of her soul openly and hear: "This is allowed. This is also a part of you. An important part." This hopelessness to be seen and to be understood, through the example of others how to accept oneself, is able to remain hidden behind willpower and dreams for a long time. After all, we can find out that we have never been able to do something only at the very end of the path, right? Until then, hope pushes us to search and to achieve. And if you still can't find it? If not ...
"Tell me, can you cure the paranoia that arises from taking drugs?"
The Muse of Hope has seen many ways of escapism from reality which help other people. Some are more destructive, some are less. Someone uses substances, someone watches movies, someone sleeps around. She has seen it all. But for the most part, for herself, she would rather choose dreaming. Living in fictional universes, fairy tales and legends which inspire the actions of brave heroes - and her fantasy is very productive. Many of her stories will be intended for others to share the magic with them and to take them away from worldly problems at least for a while.
In terms of abilities, everything will depend on which symbol of the Hope prevails in the system. It is possible that the Muse of Hope will see prophetic visions from her dreams and tell players how to make them come true. Moreover, the more miraculous the dream, the greater the likelihood of its fulfillment. And the players themselves will suddenly find that their goals and dreams are closer than they have seemed before.
Magic and wizardry are no longer fiction. Or is it just a game of imagination, a hallucination? It is impossible to make out, the world of your fantasies will merge with reality in an unimaginable mixture. And as long as there is a flame of passion and motivation in your soul, nothing can stop you. However, it is worth mentioning that it depends on faith whether the magic will hold up - if there is even a little doubt, be prepared for problems. Fears, like acid, will rot away at your chances of success. But, given that the forces of all members of the team will speak the same language, the language of wish fulfillment, everything should be fine. As long as you clearly know what you want with all your soul.

The Lord is an active class, together with the Muse belongs to the Master classes. Traditionally he is considered an antagonist of hers, however, this is only true when these classes in one session share the same aspect, as happens with ordinary pairs of inversions. The opposites will be the Lord of Breath and the Muse of Breath. The canon Lord of Time and the Muse of Space, although fiercely at odds with each other, in fact embodied the same goal in terms of the balance of their aspects. But what distinguishes Master classes from ordinary inversions is their involvement in their own aspect. Yes, Muse and Lord complement each other in the general picture of events, but in each of them there is NO TRACE of a complementary class'es aspect. If you take, for example, the ordinary Knight of Life, then the features of the Rogue of Doom will be visible in him in the background, not in the foreground. If we are talking about the Lord of Doom, then there is NOTHING from the Muse of Life in him, and even other aspects practically do not interest him. His essence, his worldview and genes consist entirely of Doom. The same is true for the Muse of Life and her aspect. It is also important that, based on my purely practical observations of the manifestations of Master classes in the lives of real people *we are talking about archetypes, without any magic and mysticism*, each person has a Master class closer to them, which one exactly - depends on the title class and title aspect and the profile roles of the Witch for Lords and the Seer for the Muses.
But this role manifests itself only in strictly defined conditions. This is not the same as with ordinary classpects when once you have been born the classpect already permeates your life. In addition, the collaboration and interaction of players with those with Master Classes is critically important, which follows the reason of their appearance and the need for the session. In particular, the role of the Lord of the aspect is required when this very aspect is manifested so globally, so strongly that it almost suffocates its paired one. Those who get the Lord become something of an avanguard fighter, taking the brunt force of the aggressor aspect on. It sounds cool, probably to many it will sound like a Mary Sue ... But this is extremely far from the truth.
The Lord owes his abilities solely to his environment. Take the group, the team away from him, leave him in complete isolation, and it turns out that he only slightly reduces the aspect in the system. Why, then, is this particular class needed to oppose the aspect? Because the power of the Lord and the Master classes in general is the Definition of the aspect. Usually an aspect manifests itself through many symbols (for example, information, luck, probabilities, attention, sight, physical light in the Light), players sharing the same aspect seem to speak dialects of the same language. Moreover, the situation is like in China - dialects are very different, which often complicates communication. However, under the influence of the Lord (or Muse), the aspect begins to sound louder through one symbol, the one that "pleases" the Lord (Muse). And now it is clear that it is easier to knock the aspect down with a concentrated blow in one point than in different points with small fists. The main feature of the Masters, which distinguishes them from other classes, is the strengthening of the team effect, the peculiar role of platinum in this chemical reaction.
The Doom is a "heavy" aspect, paired with Life. It is associated with the topic of fate, everything that is destined, both good and bad things. The system of how the world works, the rules of which you are forced to obey or, in any case, cannot contradict. Anything that reminds us of fragility and vulnerability when you are weak, sick, hungry or in agony. But also about fortitude, discipline, compassion, which helps us in difficult times. Doombound are distinguished by their ability to organically fit into the framework and requirements, which does not mean at all that they can be trampled on. Rather, it is the avoidance of the effect of the "sticking nail", which is why the Doombound is able to quite effectively fight for his life, without attracting too much attention to himself, turning grandiose plans absolutely legal. However, sometimes fatalism goes sideways on them, causing hypothymia and general depression. What will be the character of our avanguard fighter?
The character is shaped by fate. And Lord of Doom's life is far from easy. We can say that he literally lives in the epicenter of the disaster. People around can get endlessly sick, while it's not even about epidemics, but about tumors or injuries. Or, all of a sudden, his inner circle is faced with debt, bankruptcy and poverty. It is important to take into account that such a situation does not last a day or two, but several months at least. But what is funny: the "evil" Doom touches the people dear to the Lord much less *for example, their diseases are not fatal*, but for the Master himself a minor misfortune comes into his hands and brings many benefits, for example, a broken leg allows him to ditch his duties. Surprisingly, the environment in many things allies the Lord, trying to ease this acute period. Therefore, no matter how much the Lord is sick, they will always let him go home, there is no money - they will always borrow, even in cases where it is contrary to the rules. About the rules ... The Lord of Doom is a master of breaking the law, acting absolutely legally, using loopholes in the instructions and principles of others. If it seemed to you that the latter looks like Witch's manipulations, then it is - of all the classes, the Witch is the closest to the Lord, it is the aspect of the profile Witch that will be the aspect of the Lord's role in people who have this Master class.
The Lord of Doom perfectly understands and breathes the irreversibility of things and probably follows the "tooth for tooth" rule. He is the living embodiment of karma and punishment that awaits everyone for his misdeeds, whether he is ready or not. And often it is simply impossible to prepare for such things. The outcome of the war is decided by your actions here and now, so mistakes will not be forgiven. In the world of Lord of Doom the fittest survive, but everyone suffers. It is no wonder that such core and skills make him extremely proud of himself and self-confident, but at the same time he is also a fatalist. Everything will be as he pleases, but only because from the very beginning the fate is spelled out like this. This creates the conditions for great disappointment if suddenly something goes wrong, or if the Lord does not understand the benefits for himself in what is happening. On the environment, if the Lord of Doom is realized, it will have an activating effect: sooner or later people will be outraged that a series of misfortunes befalls them and that the Lord reminds them of the inevitable. And then the riot time will come. Players will lead this avalanche of irreversibility, making every effort to turn the river in a different direction. Yet the discipline that the Lord of Doom embodies will make everyone grow up. Most likely he will have to pay for such abilities with serious depressions and pessimism, because no matter how cool you are, a heavy load and fatalism tempts to think about how much fate and the system in general do not care about you. However, the rebellion of others against Doom for the realized Lord will not be in vain - maybe not quickly, but the desire of others to live and fight can inspire hope even in the most doomed.
In terms of ability, as I have already mentioned, the main thing is a change of emphasis in the aspect.If before the arrival of Lord Doom the title and profile Doombound could had manifested their aspect through fate, or endless diseases, or through influencing the rules of the game, then in the presence of the Master everything will suddenly switch to his way. For the Lord of Doom, Doom means poverty - and under his influence the resources in the game will become critically small, players will quickly spend them, food will stop saturating, strength will go away faster. The Lord of Doom sees Doom only as an exceptionally evil fate - be prepared that the Sylph of Doom of the team, which used to keep especially violent players under the rules purely by creating new rules, now by their actions leads to spinal fractures due to accidents. And if there is no way to move - there is no way to mess things up. Everyone within the radius of thr Lord of Doom will have to pay what they deserve, so they will fail after failing. The outcome of resisting fate will depend on what brought you into a critical situation and how much the player is able to withstand responsibility for his mistakes. Probably, in order to emerge victorious, players will need to rely on the Seers and prevent as many problems as possible. You will no longer be able to leave "at random" - you need to think about what you are doing, in advance, and think over ways to address the consequences. After all, fate will always take its toll and no one is without sin. It is also worth noting that although all Lords depend on interaction with the environment, the Lord of Doom will be a particularly hidden manipulator. From the outside, it may seem that this weakling is not capable of anything at all, but his action and inaction will be determined by both minor accidents and great events of a universal scale, both the birth of heroes and the formation of villains. But he will not be an explicit author - the Lord of Doom is patient enough to wait for the fruits of his efforts, because now the system itself works for the one who sets its rules.

Should I add specific master classpect descriptions (for example, the Muse of Life) or just the general master class'es and aspect's ones (for example, the Muse and the Life) to my master classpect test?
This question has been bugging me, because including general info helps to give people a vivid idea of the class'es and aspect's core, while keeping the text short and covering almost all manifestations of these categories.
While writing specific descriptions helps to give a clear portrayal of one of many manifestations of the thing, but it works best in case of absence of any concrete info. Which is exactly the situation with master classes.
Or should I do both...
I would be very glad to hear your opinion!

The title aspect test is finally out for beta testing!
The pack includes title aspect, title class and masterclasspect tests. The only goals left are the classpect manual and the classpect profile test.
I will be very grateful, if you try these out and give me some feedback via contacts given in the programs, because I need to be sure everything is usable without a pro classpecter by your side *i want to be free from this disease, please, help me*.

*Обновлено* Что ж, прошло довольно много времени, но тест на титульный класс и мастеркласс наконец-то доступен для бета тестинга!
Я потратила своё отсутствие на Тамблере на работу над Класспектовым мануалом и особенно на класспектовые тесты для него. Всего планируется три теста: на титульный аспект (!обновление началось! закончено, в составе архива по ссылке вверху !обновление закончилось!), титульный класс и мастеркласс (по ссылке вверху) и класспектовый профиль (ожидается).
Мне бы очень помогло, если б вы опробовали этот тест, независимо от того, знаете ли вы свой титульный класс или нет, потому что нужно посмотреть, хорошо ли метод перевёлся в автоматический формат. Пожалуйста, свяжитесь со мной через контакты, упомянутые в программе, чтоб я могла включить ваш фидбэк в усовершенствование теста.
Знаю, что это выглядит как какой-то мутный экзешник с Интернета, но я психиатр, а не программист, не понимаю, как сделать его менее подозрительным.

*Updated* So it has been a long time, but the title class and masterclass test is finally here to be beta tested!
I have spent my abcense on Tumblr working on the Classpect manual and especially classpect tests for it. There are 3 tests planned: title aspect (!update starts! complete now, included in the archive by the link above !update ends!), title class and masterclass (available by the link above) and classpect profile (coming soon).
It would be extremely helpful, if you tried this test out, whether you know your title class and masterclass or not, because I need to see if the method transitioned well into the automatic format. Please, contact me via contacts mentioned in the program, so that I can incorporate the data into bettering the test.
I know, it looks like some shady exe from the Net, but I am a psychiatrist, not a programmer. I don't know how to make it less suspicious.

I understand why for many people it may be crushing to see their beloved characters do awful things and show those sides of personality, which are not really welcome, to say the least. In the same time, in my opinion, it is important that the characters mirror not only nice traits of our nature, but the vile ones, the darkest parts, because no one is perfect. It is equally needed to reflect both on the "good" behaviour and realization of impulses and the "bad" ones, because the ability to associate with the repressed things in our own psyche at least through the character's actions can help you work out those issues.
I also know that sometimes the depiction of certain things in media kind of normalizes them, but I have to stress, it largely depends on the way those things are depicted and described. In case of Jane, her actions were not glorified or refered to as ideal way of thinking. Some characters tried to justify her decisions, explain them, understand them or oppose them, but it has never been stated that she was right. Thus I believe, the positive use we can make from this image of her character is that someone, who struggles with the same motives or traits, can see the extreme ways Jane can act on those impulses, watch the society's reaction and be pushed to resolve those issues.
You know, it is just like the act of crime and the thought of crime dilemma. Not all people choose to act on their impulses and not always in harmful ways, but many, many of us have THOUGHT about it at least once in their life. And it is impossible to deny, that seeing a character do something you only think about in moments of great stress can give you a sense of relief. Once again, such characters and association with the darkest parts of their psyche lets us understand ourselves more, find a safe way to explore those sides and find another way of dealing with them. But I am rambling a little.
Initially, all I have wanted to say is that Jane wasn't devoid of those flaws which found such a way to be realized. She is the Maid of Life, but her inverse is the Bard of Doom. Her personality has a predisposition to use the law in corrupt ways, just because she never had the opportunity to fully explore this field and to work on this issue. Not to mention that the Batterwitch'es model of behaviour surely affected Jane growing up. The readers just choose to concentrate on good points too much to notice all the things which are wrong.
It doesn't mean that Jane is evil by design, it just means that she is inclined to behave a certain way in the position of power, which could have gone both constructive and destructive path. Though in spite of her not facing the issues she had with this, she naturally went by the easiest and the "pre-set" path. Although all of this has upset a lot of readers, in actuality her behaviour was so much human in nature.
The same thing happens with lots of people regarding any issues they have. But thanks to the fictional characters acting out their impulses both in awful and beautiful ways, we, the readers, are reminded that we are allowed to be flawed, but we can show it differently; that we are not defined by our flaws, but the way we choose to carry them out. In other words, Jane commits genocide, so you won't. I hope, I got the point across despite the controversy of the subject.
Honestly when the epilogues came out I was excited until people started complaining how bad it was. I put it off before finally sitting down to read it one day only to turn it off the moment they made Jane a villain. I’m probably being stupid but I related to Jane so much as a character so seeing her like that really hurt. I haven’t even touched hs2 because I’m scared. I’ve read what you’ve and others said. I don’t want something I love so much to be ruined that way
Sorry that I’ve gotten back to this late - but I think you’re completely valid for how you feel.
Part of the draw to Homestuck was how well the characters were written. It was easy to connect to any of them, to see parts of yourself in them, because our heroes were written as heroes with human flaws. They were there for us to project onto, and this was deeply facilitated by the 2nd person narrative used throughout Homestuck (which is something I actually wrote on for my dissertation; it’s an inherently inclusive narrative which encourages the reader to slip into the character in order to live through them in the world, but the visuals of Homestuck also keep the characters individual. It’s this mixture between BEING the character and BEING WITH the character that makes it especially easy to bond with them).
Jane was, all things considered, just a normal girl with normal human issues and a very easy-to-connect-with character arc of self-realisation and independence and movements towards - in later life - her dream job.
Then, suddenly, she becomes a fascist. Yes, I can sort of understand where this comes from - but the choice to do this didn’t actually need to be made. There are several ways Jane could have responded to being in power that would have been as believable (if not more so) as “becomes a fascist and xenophobe”. They just needed a villain and, for some reason, decided that picking the Life Player (to inherently perpetuate the concept that women in power will only ever lead to dictatorships or abusive societies) was the best possible option.
It’s hard, with that known, to see her go through this descent into villainy - and a form of villainy that exists in our world and is a growing, real-life issue. It sucks to see her become this, especially when she was just a pretty normal girl that people could connect with.
This is why, usually, you DON’T make your heroes villains without a genuine reason for it. There is no reason for Jane’s descent. There is nothing that really justifies this choice to make her a character representative of one of the worst evils that exist in our world.
I think it’s perfectly reasonable to be upset by this, and to find it hard to read as a result. It was pretty hard for me to read Dirk’s fall back into toxic practices, and even now, I hate that they decided to make him a villain again - to get rid of everything he worked to not be and to perpetuate the idea that men are inherently abusive. It’s one of the biggest reasons why I didn’t want to read HS^2 initially. I completely understand finding it hurtful to see what’s happening to Jane. I completely understand being turned off by HS^2 because of it.
This is, admittedly, the problem with HS^2. For as much as they think that they’re continuing Homestuck, for a lot of people they’re actually ruining it. And they’re aware of that. They think that’s what they should do. But there are plenty of fan continuations that don’t do that; fan continuations that stay truer to the core themes of Homestuck than the official one does. It’s ridiculous, when you consider that. We have physical proof that what they’re doing isn’t necessary, isn’t what the fandom want, and is actually just more hurtful and harmful than anything else.
But they’re ignorant of the fandom. They’re convinced that their way is right, and that, I suppose, is their prerogative, but when they’re the official continuation they do need to sort of listen. There’s more responsibility with that - more importance to not completely destroy something that is such a huge part of peoples’ lives, because Homestuck^2 will always be associated with Homestuck. It will be a part of collective memory and ruin what good people recall of the original comic. I think that’s something that the writers don’t really understand, either.

Once I've found this post and since my blog wakes up once every 500 years, the thought sparkled in my mind: "Now it is THE TIME to talk about it". Let's talk about:
Active and Passive classes and why this division is so confusing
As I remember, this trait has been explained over and over like this: "Passive classes benefit the group, while the Active classes benefit themselves". This always got me stuck, because it sounds as if Passive classes are devoted to be sacrifices, the ultimate altruists, only capable of sharing. And for the Actives it painted a picture of an egoist, who just takes and rarely considers others. Of course, only a small bunch of people are extreme like that and mostly it is a sign of serious psychological problems. Not in any way a set-in-stone line to put a person into one of the two categories!
So it got me thinking... What IS the benefit, actually? What does it mean? And what is the real mark that makes you a Passive player or an Active one?
The answer to the first part of the question and the real meaning of the "benefit" lies in the psychology. Imagine a kid, who has lost a pet hamster. The child is very young and asks his parents, why his favourite pal is not moving anymore. What do the parents do?
Some choose to protect the kid from the grief and say that the animal fell asleep. A very deep sleep. In this way they choose to benefit the other by avoiding negative emotions. I am not saying that lying is good or something like that, but that these people consider such move as a benefit.
Now let's see another way around. Some people would think it is a great opportunity to introduce the kid to the concept of death — inevitable, but partial to the life experience. So they tell him, as it is: the animal won't wake up, because it can't anymore. This is death. In this way parents consider it a benefit for the other by not denying him the truth, as bitter as it often is. It is a step to grow up a little and other losses in the life will not be as big of a shock, if you are familiar with the feeling. At least, this is what they may think.
To sum up, what does it all mean? It means that the benefit isn't always something, that feels good for the receiver. It may be negative or positive, or useful or useless... All kinds of things and for the both parties, the giver and the receiver. But it is always something we gain or give away. Somewhat of a present, if you would like.
The main thing is: to benefit yourself/others in the context of Active and Passive classes means the way the class deals with pressure. Pressure, or stress, follows all kinds of emotions and needs. And they are the reasons we begin to do stuff, to act. If you want to feel happiness, for example, you may refer to doing your favourite hobby. In this way you are mostly gaining happiness from the activity by yourself. Or you may choose to talk to a variety of friends and share your sadness, your worries, relieving the pain, venting.
The first behaviour is an example of the way Active classes' function. They mostly accumulate the Aspect and perform their functions (changing, creating, destroying, etc.) themselves. Think of a person, who wants their enemy gone and pulls the trigger, sniping the unwanted individual. While the second example of sharing, as you have noticed, is Passive classes' style. They tend to distribute the Aspect and perform the function through other people's hands. In this way these guys are the ones who choose the hired assasin's service, rather than go and choke their hated colleague personally.
But it doesn't mean that Passives do not do anything themselves! It is just that... The Active class is one of the chemicals in the chemical reaction, while the Passive class is the catalyzator of the reaction itself, like platinum. From this point of view the Passives do a lot of work with vast consequences.
As for further confusion... Many traits, which fandom puts into the definition of Activeness and Passiveness, are not the marks for such division! Those traits are more of a spectrum for classes, with some showing more in their behaviour and some showing less, or marks of Aspects themselves, or even overlapping with the inversion.
For John as an Heir of Breath those confusing traits were: high Independence (Dependance-Independance — how strong the need in allies is for the class to perform its function), high focus on Action (Action-Interaction — these determine whether the class is occupied with influencing the environment or the people around him accordingly), mild focus on Practice (Practical classes are more intuitive and prefer to act and improvise over planning first, they are better at working with their Aspect, than understanding how it works), focus on Changing the Aspect (different from the usual function of the Heir; this is a Class type, which means it impacts the Aspect and affects it in some way, makes it different from itself before the action; the opposite Class type would be Saving, which is mostly keeping the Aspect in its former shape, intact), high Egoism (Egoistic classes prioritize their own needs before the others', but it does not mean that they will always sacrifice or harm the group, or that these guys are selfish and think they are better than everyone around)).
All of these shine even stronger, because the Breath is a Direct, meaning its players tackle the source of the stress head-on, and Modification type Aspect, meaning its players are more inclined to change themselves to play the game effectively, rather than trying to reshape the rules of it to fit themselves.
All in all, this clearly shows WHY people were confused with the system for a long time and debated a lot. But I guess, most of us agree that John can certainly be called a catalyzator of events, hence why he has always been a Passive player.
*I hope, my post cleared some points, be sure to ask questions if needed. I guess, it is better to write shorter posts once in a while, rather than put out a monster made of words once in eternity*
Just in Case anyone hasn’t heard, Heirs are confirmed passive in the Book 6 Commentary on page 306. “At the end of the day, Vriska did 90% of the talking, while John intermittently offered a few remarks such as ”“wow”“ and ”“geez”“ and ”“huh”“ and ”“golly, that’s a lot of murders…”“ But then, that’s why John is such a perfect friend. And an even perfecter friend for Vriska, who really just wants a boy-foil functioning as the ultimate enabler and sounding board for her apologist ”“multicultural”“ navel gazing and self-absorbed rationalization narratives. He is the Heir of Breath after all. It’s a passive class, and he’s a passive guy. An heir, literally speaking, is one who inherits stuff. Let’s infer this to mean, for the sake of this particular note, someone who ”“inherits”“ by making room for something to fill, such as wind. He certainly provides that service for a whole lot of hot air when it comes to Vriska.”

In addition to this, I can give a shorter answer about what to use as a base for classpecting yourself: the title class is more affected by your overall character traits (attitude towards other people vs yourself, attitude towards the stuff you do, your attitude towards the titled aspect if you can already suggest any, preference to know how something works vs being able to use this thing without really knowing its inner workings, the main challenge of the class) and should fit you even without the Aspect; the titled Aspect defines your worldview and core values first and your traits second.
It is much more obvious if we observe Princes: while the true Aspect can get mixed up a lot due to their ghosting, the overall attitude of a Prince is quite hard to miss. Thus a bunch of people with the same class will have more similar things in their behaviour, than a bunch of people with the same Aspect, but different classes.
I wouldn't recommend to look out for "the most appealing"/"the most wannable"/"the most challenging" title. We often get fascinated over things not only when we recognize the traits we share with the type, but just as much when we are denying our true colours and are looking for the exact opposite to escape realization, or if we are looking for a way to be impressive, important with some title that we find "fancy" or "cool". Picking the wrong role doesn't solve the existing problems and creates more unnecessary ones you won't be able to handle, because you weren't cut for it, in case you take classpects very seriously.
And I can especially stress that the denial route is just insanely common among the unrealized Rogues of Heart specifically. During my practice these guys have presented the same pattern over and over: changing their titles literally every two days, constant doubts about their title, low self-esteem and often thoughts of being "uninteresting", strive for "something grand", high levels of empathy which make the types descriptions very confusing as if "each description fits", vague and unclear stories when asked to describe themselves. So that should be kept in mind.
About tests: I made one over a year ago and it has served me right till this day, but I don't really have time to classpect anyone these days as my exams are approaching. However! I am in a need of testing the instruction to this method anyone should be able to use *I hope, at least*. So if you wish to participate, my inbox is open, you can get in contact with me.
So I've been thinking alot ab mythological roles. In comic, theyr asigned to characters to represent their intended growth and who theyr suposed to become in the alpha timeline, and this is known due to the nature of paradox space and time shenanigans. So when we try to claspect ourselves, what are we suposed to base it on? We cant know who we will become, and atitle that represents all of ourself just isnt posible. Everyone has diferent tests but no one seems to be asking that question directly
The point of a Classpect is to challenge you. It’s supposed to be difficult. It’s supposed to push you. You’re not meant to go into a Classpect and find it easy peasy; there’s always some form of difficulty, some block, that you have to overcome. So, I think, the first way you can help figure out your Classpect; if it sounds too easy, if it sounds like that form of growth would be a sinch for you - it’s wrong.
Classpects challenge you in order to make you the very best you you can be. It’s somewhere between the Ideal Self and the Perfect/Ultimate Self (though very much not the way Dirk explains or understands it). There is a specific path you can go down, a series of awarenesses that you can uncover, that help you realise who you’re really meant to be. So, some of Classpecting is also just trying to think ahead to who YOU want to be, but also what you think the BEST you could look like.
There’s no 100% quickfire way to figure that out - because, you’re right, we’ve got no idea who we’re going to become, and thinking about our ideal/best selves isn’t exactly easy - but you can do it through a lot of self reflection. Figuring out what your flaws are, where you struggle as a person, what your strengths are; they can all be used to figure out what you at your absolute best would be. You can then reference that against the various Classpects, and especially how people analyse them - because a lot of us do include what the struggle point for any given Classpect would be; that thing you have to overcome - and see if that struggle would actually be difficult for you. Would that challenge make you rise up as a person? Would it benefit you?
You can also base it on what you already know about yourself and your current personal journey. You’ve been growing since you were a kid, changing who you are in little ways, being affected by different things; Classpects take into account all of this.
I very much subscribe to the theory that Classpects affect your homelife and your upbringing. Your Classpect comes first - even before you’re born, your Classpect is there as an inevitable sort of thing. It details exactly what path you’ll go down as a person, be it to become a True, Realised, or Failed Player. You can pretty much always track these paths and the similarities between Players via joint experiences and joint struggles.
This is the sort of thing we detail, too - or at least that I try to include in my analyses. This is what a Player will look like before their awareness; this is what a Player is likely to act like and struggle with. This is probably the easiest way to help figure out your Classpect, so long as you’re comfortable with the idea of self reflection; looking back over your life and seeing if it lines up with the explanation of a Classpect pre-awareness.
To take myself as an example? I’m a Page of Heart. I know this because, throughout my life, I have had significant struggles with Heart (self identity, impulsivity, relationships), and I had a definite lack of it at one point in time (ending up doing a lot of the “trying to act caring/empathetic but often being overemotional” and “being passionate to the point of obsession” stuff). And I know for a fact that, still, in my attempts to be kind and caring, I can be... very overprotective and a little suffocating.
On top of that? I’ve definitely been exploited via my emotions and empathy (something I only realised more recently through Classpect-based self reflection), and I have a tendecy to overshare with people who aren’t technically close enough for it. I know for a fact, too, that my emotions can get wildly out of hand.
Therefore, a lot of my growth is about learning Heart until it becomes natural, and about an eventual sense of balance between the lack and the extreme. I already know I’m getting there. I’m getting much better at connecting to people emotionally, and I’ve got a knack these days for figuring out peoples’ identities (which can be something as small as guessing their favourite animal/colour first try and as large as working them through their Classpect journey).
I know this is my Classpect because it fits not only what I’ve been through, what I know I’m going to struggle with, and the concept that it’s actively going to challenge me, but also because it hits this note of who I see and want my ideal self to be.
This is why tests are great, but don’t always hit the mark. I’ve been asked a few times to make a test of my own, and as much as I’d love the idea and have put some thought towards it, a lot of Classpecting is self reflection and thought. It could help to narrow down the potentials, but it would never be perfect - especially since there are some Classpects (such as the destructive or lacking ones) that might appear on the surface as a completely different Classpect. I’m not sure how to accurately make a test that takes into account these little nuances.
So! For a TL;DR:
We can still understand Classpects the same way they’re used in Homestuck, and I think in a way it’s better to view them like that. Your Classpect defines you, is you, and therefore you can use what you know about yourself, your struggles, and your best self to figure out which Classpect best aligns with you. If it seems like it’d challenge you, if it hits a lot of notes for things you’ve been through, and if you think your ideal self is what the Classpect’s end product is? Chances are, that’s your Classpect - and has been all along.

There are some points I can not agree and want to expand on, so let me explain the deal with sexuality, sensuality, sex and Space and Hope aspects. But first of all, I need to highlight: the problem of people putting things into one category solely, because these things share a trait commonly witnessed in that category (but not limited to this one only), is the result of such thinking being easier and not a problem of said trait being common in that category. If someone classpects any romance-focused person as a Heart player, it is because of lack of classpecting skill (which, of course, can be mastered with practice and research), not because there is an issue with Romance being a common motif in the Heart. It's like we deny that equations are commonly used in Mathematics, just because they are also used in literally every science. I hope, I got the point across, my metaphors are not very good. Onto the sexual stuff...
Quite often I see people understanding sex as just some physical act to reproduce (and it is indeed very physical and leads to reproduction) or just a way to get pleasure (and it indeed can be very pleasant). But they totally ignore that this is not only that. And most importantly, there are an emotional and aesthetical parts of it. The ones, that tie it with Hope and Space aspects.
As we all remember, Space is often connected with art, aesthetic, creation itself, maternal instincts. But it doesn't mean, that Space players are machines for producing babies and mothering them. These themes overlap, because for any creator their creation — be it a picture, a sculpture, music, a novel — is indeed, their child. A labor of love of some sorts. Limiting it only to making babies is an example of narrow and simpler outlook, since, really, to create something without much effort is to make a child. And most of the population does just that, while to create an art piece you have to work harder. I am not trying to say, that being a mother is degradable in any way! Just that there are levels of expressing and realizing any intentions. On the basic level creation is getting a child, a more physical and, in spite of this, more easily obtainable result. The intangible stuff is harder to reach.
This connection gives Space players, who generally increase the Space aspect in the session, such as Porrim and, actually, Damara as she has a Seer of Space as her inversion, more ways of "naturally creating". But we haven't seen their motives as just reproducing? And that is the point, because it is not the reason of such behaviour. Though, it definitely goes deeper, than "I just want it like that", since wants come from emotions. The secret is actually in the worldview of Space players: they are highly focused on the aesthetics of things, thus they do not really look at the sexuality and sex as a physical act, but something... Beautiful, graceful. Unfortunately, it takes a certain amount of self-development to understand and share this point оf view, but the Space players see sex as exactly this: a masterpiece.
As you can see, the central motif of the Aspect is affecting the half-tones of each of the symbols in it. And it is true to the Hope aspect as well. But beforehand, let's look, what does art share with sex? Not only in ways it affects someone witnessing it, but the ways someone even has the impulse to indulge in it?
It is catharsis and acceptance.
Every piece of art is meant to evoke some kind of emotion in the viewer, usually the same conveyed by the creator. In such way it helps to let these emotions flowing, leading to a catharsis, and them to be accepted by those people, who resonate the same way.
The same thing is actually with the sex, too. People get close emotionally, physically, out if the desire to be accepted by the loved one and to accept them. That is what loving means: accepting each other. And this is what sex is actually about on the deeper level, than just getting pleasure or making kids. What is more, this orgasmic pleasure is literally a catharsis. Sex is one of the steps of accepting the person, that is why in media there is a lot of depictions of people sleeping around not because they are polygamous or polyamorous, but because they are looking for the way to be accepted. Such characters usually name the reason for this behaviour as "I just wanted to be loved". If you wonder, what you can learn from exploring your sexuality and sensuality as normal phases of growing up, it is this: accepting yourself.
Moreover, though it is a bit on the unusual and weird side, but the religion has lots in common with sexual attraction (don't hate me for these comparisons, I am merely talking about the connections I've discovered while reading R. von Krafft-Ebing's books, he was a psychiatrist). Both sexual attraction and religious behaviour include love and some way of submission. For the religion submission (as in realizing of something more powerful than us existing) comes first and love comes second, for sex it is the opposite. The catharsis is also shared both in the religion (all those exorcisms and prayers) and in sex (orgasm). And in both the bliss is viewed as something vast and seemingly endless.
Wow, look at that, aren't Religion, Faith, Acceptance and Sex ones of the common Hope aspect's symbols? Out of all of them, probably, Acceptance is the central. I sincerely hope, this cleared some confusions.
I found this post in my drafts, and I decided to finish it up. It’s fairly old, based on some old posts I saw, but I still think it’s important - on the off chance that this is still something that’s going around, and because I’m still a little bitter about it.
There is something inherently wrong about the idea that Hope is an Aspect of sexuality (as in “being sexual”, not of figuring out who you’re sexually attracted to) and sensuality. About the concept that all Hope Players are heavily inbued with this concept of sex, sex appeal, and sexual awakening, because some of the interactions we’ve seen with Hope Players were centred around these things.
If we were to focus on that as a defining factor of Hope, then we’d have to say Time is heavily influenced by Relationships (Dave is the first character in Homestuck to say he loves anyone; Aradia is the only Beta troll in a redrom relationship prior to the game; Damara has been in several ongoing relationships during her introduction, and is actively persuing someone as her main character motivation).
This has no baring on their Classpect. These events, while interesting, are not any part of their abilities as Time players - especially not in the same way that Heart is intrinsically connected with relationships.

The Classes comparison while classpecting (part 2: Maid, Page, Knight, Prince, Heir, Sylph, Seer, Mage, Rogue, Bard)

Part 1
The Mage of Blood is here with the follow-up of the Classes' comparisons. In case someone has wondered if there is a specific pattern I am following when comparing the Classes, it indeed exists. The Classes are united into groups with the biggest similarities between units, akin to the purple illustration I did for the Aspects' comparison post. But after some talking to people I've realized these pics only confuse the readers (pardon my profile Prince of Void), thus I'll simply list the groups, the adjacent (but secondary in characteristics) roles are put in "<>":
<Seer> Maid, <Sylph> Page <Prince>, Rogue <Bard>
<Maid> Seer, <Thief> Sylph <Page>, Mage <Heir>
<Witch> Knight, <Page> Prince <Thief>, Bard <Rogue>
<Mage> Heir, <Prince> Thief <Sylph>, Witch <Knight>
Also, I am describing Classes via specific traits, some terms for which may be hard to understand. In this case, you can see the full list of them with explanations in my first post of the Classes' comparison. And now, let us continue the differentiation.
5. Heir-Page-Maid
Shared: all Classes are Increasing the Aspect and posess the qualities of the Innovators. They get mixed up because of more dense interaction with other people.
Different: contrary to the Page and the Heir, the Maid is a more Dependant and Interaction-oriented, less Egoistic Creator Class. She posesses the qualities of the Effector. Usually there is some mentor or authoritative figure in her life, the Maid is generally more susceptible to the advices of others at the start of her gourney, while the Page and the Heir can be doing any crazy or useful stuff just out of their own will and desires, and don't even try to tell them to stop. But it is hard to say the Maid thinks of herself as incompetent in the matter of her Aspect (like decompensated desperate Pages do occasionally); it's just she is OK with listening to others for a while. In addition, the Maid is more Disharmonious with the inverted Aspect, to the point of extreme unacceptance and fear, than the other two Classes. The Maid's Aspect source is External.
Compared to the Page, the Heir is a Deficient, more Basically skilled Manipulator Class, that is Harmonious with his own Aspect and Disharmonious with the inverted one. His Overall weight is smaller and his system function is Slightly increasing the Aspect. What is more, while the Maid and the Page can be quite childlike in their behaviour, naive even, the Heir is not as simple. Still, he is not as manipulative (in terms of using people to do stuff for him) as the Page is (he is so cute, it is irresistable, and he knows it), the Heir prefers to get things done himself than finding a vassal. The Heir is less interested in mastering his skills, usually he hardly even pays attention to using the Aspect — it all comes so natural and easy to him. The Page, on the other hand, concentrates on every of his attempts, at the same time (and it is a huge advantage of this Class) being less inclined to put his hands down in case of failure; his stubborness and childish confidence are big helpers in unraveling the potential. Where the Heir would be balancing in doubts, having failed before, the Page would jump into action without even thinking twice.
Unlike the Maid, the Page is a more Independant, Egoistic, Action-oriented Passive Class with Abundance of the Aspect. Also he is a Class of Changing type and Yielding category. Unfortunately, the Page is Disharmonious with his own Aspect, while Harmonious with the inverted one. He posesses the qualities of the Ace. The Page seems more naive than the Maid, although in reality he is a more successful manipulator and his mechanism of "inspiring others" to use the Aspect differs significantly: while the Maid emits some kind of inspirational aura and the people around get caught in this flow, it is a game of pride with the Page. His mistakes in the Aspect make others strive for mastering their skills out of the fear of accepting their own failures and his strong devotion to the Aspect stuff inspires to keep going forward against all the odds. The Page's Aspect source is Internal and his Overall weight is bigger.
6. Heir-Prince
Shared: both Classes are of Changing type, highy Egoistic and Deficient. The realized Prince can be mixed up with the Heir.
Different: the Heir is more Independant, Action-oriented Passive Manipulator Class, whose system function is Slightly increasing the Aspect. He is more Basically skilled, but also has lesser Overall weight. While the Prince is Disharmonious with his own Aspect and Harmonious with the inverted one, it is opposite for the Heir (which makes sense since the latter is the Prince's son according to the inheritance of the Classpects, but the inheritance theory is a talk for another day). The second Class is much lighter with the character, rarely brags about his achievements and meddles with others, he is less tense and perfectionistic with his Aspect. The Heir's self-esteem is usually higher, than the Prince's one, but it is not an overcompensation, in addition, his views on the Aspect are not as firm (in the worst case, the Prince may even be narrow-minded towards the Aspect. The Prince's Aspect source is External.
7. Heir-Sylph
Shared: both Classes are Passive, posess the qualities of the Innovators and are Harmonious with their own Aspect, their system function is Increasing the Aspect and the Aspect's source is Internal. It is not very common, but the Sylphs can Classpect themselves as Heirs due to the love for the Aspect.
Different: the Sylph is a more Dependant, Basically skilled, Interaction-oriented, Abundant, less Egoistic Creator Class, whose system function is Greatly increasing the Aspect. He is of Saving type and posesses the qualities of the Strategist. This Class doesn't just mind their own thing, like the Aspect-led Heir, but often pokes their head inside other people's business, viewing the Aspect as some highest good, not accepting different opinions. What is more, the Sylph is more Disharmonious with his inverted Aspect, than the Heir. Just like in the case of the Prince, there is a place for low self-esteem overcompensation, but instead of diminishing others' achievements, the Sylph takes up a habit of doing "useful" actibities and services to earn the much wanted appreciation. While the Heir is rarely in the race for the public opinion before his own self-image.
8. Sylph-Seer-Mage
Shared: all Classes are Abundant, of Saving type and posess the qualities of the Strategists. The Sylph is here, because this Class often self-Classpects into Knowing Classes, since Sylphs usually are quite knowledgeable (truly or not) about the Aspect and are eager to share the info.
Different: contrary to the Sylph and the Seer, the Mage is a more Independant, Action-oriented, less Egoistic Active Class, whose system function is Slightly decreasing the Aspect. His Overall weight is bigger and the Mage is Disharmonious with his own Aspect, while Harmonious with the inverted Aspect. The Mage is less sociable, spending a lot of time outside the big group and usually is not initiative in sharing his knowledge unless asked directly or provoked into action via seeing someone doing something absurd with the Aspect. Because of the difficulties with the Aspect, the Mages are often grouchy and have a hard-to-deal-with personality (mudak). Unlike the Seer, this Class usually is pretty sure about what they need to do in the Aspect to solve their personal problem, it's just… the Mage will be delaying the action till the deadline, cause this gives them the reason to be grouchy and get full of themselves and the experience they earn tough way from the Aspect! In addition, this Class gets knowledge directly and not from books/dreams/other people's experiences, is more oriented at own views instead of others' opinions. The Mage's Aspect source is External.
Compared to the Sylph, the Seer is a less Basically skilled Knowing Class, who posesses the qualities of the Ace and Slightly increases the Aspect. He is more accepting to other points of view, while his own is quite fluid and changeable after their influence. The Seer shares the knowledge generously not for the appreciation, but out of genuine interest in the subject, thus is not too pushy with his talks, though doesn't like to be proven wrong anyways. Just like Mage's, the Seer's discoveries and insights are usually working well. On the other hand, the Sylph's knowledge is quite often based on the one-sided view of the Aspect, at times even fully subjective and non-applicable to the reality, therefore many people claim them to have "special opinions". The Overall weight of the Seer is bigger, than the Sylph's. Unlike the Mage, the Seer is a more Dependant, Egoistic and Interaction-oriented, less Basically skilled and Abundant Passive Class, Harmonious with his own Aspect and Disharmonious with the inverted one, not to mention that the Mage posesses qualities of the Innovator, not Ace. The Seer is also capable of intuitive knowledge of the Aspect, through the insights and visions, symbolical incarnations of it, though it often raises the question of "Where do I even get this from??". He is more communicative and less "complicated". The Seer's Aspect source is Internal.
9. Sylph-Maid-Rogue
Shared: all Classes are Saving and posess the qualities of the Innovators. The Rogues often Classpect themselves as Sylphs because of the sharing of the Aspect and the whole "altruism" motif, ignoring the actual personal reasons behind it.
Different: contrary to the Sylph and the Rogue, the Maid is a Deficient Active Class. She is Disharmonious with the inverted Aspect, just like Sylphs, but at the same time is more susceptible to the outside influence towards her own Aspect, just because it is not as important to her at the start. The Maid is also less meddlesome, than the Sylph, more childish, but more confident in herself and listens only to those who have authority in her eyes, than the Rogue and the Sylph; those ones will gather advices from each and every person in the room.
Compared to the Rogue, the Sylph is a more Dependant, Interaction-oriented, Egoistic and Basically skilled Creator Class, Harmonious with their own Aspect and highly Disharmonious with the inverted one. His Overall weight is smaller and the system function is Greatly increasing the Aspect. The Sylph posesses the qualities of the Strategist and gets on the self-scrificial path most often for the feeling of being valuable, useful, because of the appreciative goal and egocentrism. Whereas the Rogue indeed places other people above himself, as he is deeply insecure, so deeply, that at times others tend to sit on the Rogue's head. While the Sylph usually tries to spread his opinion on a group of people, influence them, the Rogue is mostly reactive to other people's views and tries to take them all into account. The Sylph's Aspect source is Internal.
Sylphs, contrary to the Maid and the Rogue, are more convinced that they are right and are sure they have the right to make others think alike. Usually the Sylph is less individualistic in the approach to his Aspect, using the same pattern and viewpoint about it over and over, being highly devoted to it. They are wary of other people's opinion about them, just as it is for the Rogue, but the difference is that when the Sylph follows the public recomendations/obligations he would make a pretty sour face and would always remind you about his "sacrifices" for the higher good afterwards; thus the Sylph is more manipulative.
Unlike the Maid, the Rogue is a more Independant, Action-oriented Passive Abundant Relocator Class. He is Disharmonious with his own Aspect and Harmonious with the inverted one, the system function is Slightly increasing the Aspect. While the Maid is not particulary bothered with sharing her Aspect, the Rogue can often feel exhausted after oversharing. Therefore, this Class is more sensitive to the balance of the Aspect in the group and is more anxious about using it. Not to mention that the Rogue is less childish and is more perfectionistic due to his inversion. His Overall weight is bigger.
10. Mage-Page-Knight
Shared: all Classes are Action-oriented. Realized Pages can be mixed up with the Knights, due to the skillness, and the Mages, because of the similar struggles in the Aspect.
Different: contrary to the Knight and the Mage, the Page is a less responsible, Basically skilled, more Egoistic Passive Class, that Greatly increases the Aspect. He seems more naive and sociable, than the Mage. Unlike the Knight, the Page is not as perfectionism-driven and takes all the failures easier (unless there is a "good advisor" nearby to bring him down every day), coming back every time against all the odds. Moreover, he is also more likely to risk in a way the Knight and the Mage couldn't even imagine (the first one — because of the insecurities, the second one — because after thinking through it is obviously some reckless avanturism). The Page is mainly in tune with his own desires and will, the advices of others come second; and if those bits of advice are worth it, the Page looks for a way to apply them...via other person's labour at first, which is unacceptable for Knights and, more rarely, Mages. Also this Class is Harmonious with the inverted Aspect, unlike the Knight.
Compared to the Knight, the Mage is a more Independant, Saving type, Abundant Knowing Class, whose system function is Slightly decreasing the Aspect. He is Disharmonious with his own Aspect and Harmonious or even indifferent to the inverted one. The Mage is the Innovator-Strategist and Theory-oriented. He is more distant from the group and can be bitter in communication, but at the same time more confident and doesn't strive to prove his competence to anyone. Unlike the Page, the Mage is more serious, Independant and almost never naive, being focused on the consequences of his actions and mindfulness rather than chance. It is different from conducting an experiment, since the latter assumes a certain outcome or a hypothesis, not an attempt for the sake of it. The Mage's Aspect source is External and his Overall weight is bigger.
Apart from the Page, the Knight is a more Dependant, Basically skilled, Deficient, less Egoistic Active Class. He is Harmonious with his own Aspect and Slightly increases it, while Disharmonious with the inverted one. The Knight posesses the qualities of the Effector. He "has to do everything perfectly" to reach the unreachable peak of his ambitions. In addition, usually the Knights consider their business to be quite important, thus are serious in attitude, can't fool around like the Pages.
11. Mage-Prince-Bard
Shared: all Classes are decreasing the Aspect, Disharmonious with it and posess the qualities of the Strategist. Sometimes the Princes and Bards mistake the Aspect acceptance struggles for the Mages' problems, getting Classpected as such.
Different: contrary to the Prince and the Mage, the Bard is a less Basically skilled Passive Class, his Aspect source is Internal. He rarely spills his hate towards the Aspect onto others, thus it eats him up inside and lets other people to corrode him from the outside, while the invited destruction of/via Aspect around the Class is the result of complexes/weaknesses/struggles of the surrounding people themselves. It is tightly connected to the Bard being the scapegoat of the family system, but also because he is not particularly tender with others, making it easy to hit the right painful spots with careless words. Whereas if you were hurt by a Mage or a Prince, it was most probably on purpose. Unlike the Prince, the Bard is Abundant in Aspect, more cowardly when it comes to dealing with the Aspect, thus he hides and runs away much more instead of solving the problems. And prefers not to act in plain sight. Instead of the Prince's egocentrism and narcissism the Bard is at times "nasty" in behaviour, because of all the pain and unacceptance of himself during the crisis.
Compared to the Mage, the Prince is a more Dependant, Egoistic, Interaction-oriented, less Basically skilled, Deficient Destructor Class, whose system function is Greatly decresing the Aspect. He posesses the qualities of the Effector and is Practice-oriented. The Prince is firmer in his ways, often forceful in trying to convince you take his side, if needed. He is more full of himself, though in reality the self-esteem is quite low. The Prince sees more bad sides of the Aspect, than the Mage, sometimes only the bad ones. What is more, such Prince would absolutely brag about his "knowledge" of the Aspect, so that no one forgets he is an expert in it.
Unlike the Prince and the Bard, the Mage is a more Independant, Action-oriented, less Egoistic Saving type Knowing Class, Slightly decreasing the Aspect. He posesses the qualities of the Innovator and is more balanced in his attitude towards the Aspect: surely, there are some downs, but also the ups, and this Class almost never comes to think "Oh, this Aspect STINKS! I HATE IT WITH MY WHOLE HEART, IT IS USELESS!". Because if you truly need to get to know something in-and-out, be ready to experience the darkest sides as well as the brightest ones; and this is something Princes and Bards rarely do. The Mage is not so keen on sharing his knowledge left and right.
12. Seer-Rogue
Shared: both Classes are Abundant, Saving type, Passive. They get mixed up more often when the Aspect is similar to the Seer's functions, linked to learning and knowledge.
Different: contrary to the Seer, the Rogue is a more Independant, Action-oriented, less Egoistic and Basically skilled Relocator Class, whose system function is Slightly decreasing the Aspect. He is the Innovator-Effector and is Disharmonious with his own Aspect, while Harmonious with the inverted one. The Rogue is not as confident in his position and opinion, thus prefers to take up the views of others and avoids giving advice without the absolute need in it. He is easier to confuse and manipulate, doesn't have typical Seer-like insights about the Aspect. The Rogue's Aspect source is External.
13. Rogue-Page-Prince
Shared: all Classes are not highly Basically skilled and are Disharmonious with their own Aspect.
Different: contrary to the Page and the Rogue, the Prince is a more Dependant and Interaction-oriented Deficient Active Destroyer Class. He posesses the qualities of the Strategist and his system function is Greatly decreasing the Aspect. The Prince can be not very good at the Aspect at first, but regardless of the actual level he would likely brag about his mastery, often regarding the inverted Aspect. He is more full of himself and more meddlesome, while the low self-esteem is not as evident, hidden. The Prince usually gives himself no place for mistakes and often refuses to acknowledge such situations. Unlike the Page, his Aspect source is External and this Class is far less naive, especially from the external point of view, more eager to share the inverted Aspect (sometimes even when it is not needed). And when manipulating the Prince always leaves the last blow to himself, while the Page can stay away from the whole scheme of getting people do stuff for him, if everything goes smoothly anyway. The Prince's Overall weight is bigger.
Compared to the Rogue, the Page is a more Egoistic, Changing type Yielding Class, whose system function is Greatly increasing the Aspect. He posesses the qualities of the Ace and his Aspect source is Internal. The Page seems more naive, is less afraid of making mistakes in the Aspect. Some kind of childishness in the behaviour helps him to keep going towards the goal without dwelling on the bad thoughts too much, unlike the Rogue who is quite sensitive to any kind of critique and is easier to manipulate. The Page's opinion and views about the Aspect are firmer, than the Rogue's, he doesn't let others to step on his head easily. And on the whole the Page loves his own Aspect a lot more.
Apart from the Prince and the Page, the Rogue is a less Egoistic Saving type Relocator Class. He gives up a lot of stuff in favour of other people's benefit because of the low self-esteem, avoids unnecessary expressing the Aspect, even though he is pretty good in it. And the Rogue rarely pushes people around, mainly being the victim of it himself, he is not very manipulative. It is essential for the Rogue to get better and better in the inverted Aspect and, unlike the Prince, he actually likes his own, the Rogue is just scared of demonstrating this or thinks it is "not his thing".
14. Rogue-Bard
Shared: both Classes are Abundant, Passive, Disharmonious with their own Aspect, posess the qualities of the Effectors and decrease the Aspect. The Rohues get mixed up with Bards because of their false "bad" skills with the Aspect.
Different: contrary to the Bard, the Rogue is a more Independant, Action-oriented, less Basically skilled and less Egoistic Saving type Relocator Class, whose system function is Slightly decreasing the Aspect. He posesses the qualities of the Innovator and his dislike for the Aspect is quite smaller in comparison, it is possible to say that the Rogue even likes it, but lakes the confidence to express it. He views the Aspect from different angles, but the opinion about it is highly unstable and the achievements in the inverted Aspect are more prominent. The Rogue finds it easier to get better in the Aspect, due to being less afraid of it, than the Bard. Moreover, the Rogue is more susceptible to other people's influence and is more noble in demeanor. The Overall weight of the Rogue is smaller and his Aspect source is External.
15. Rogue-Knight
Shared: both Classes are Action-oriented, have a low Egoism and posess the qualities of the Effector. They get mixed up because they are inversions of each other, so the traits of the both Classes are visible in their owners. What makes it harder, the Rogue-Knight pair of roles, as well as the Mage-Heir and the Witch-Seer, often has a matching level of realization. Also the confidence is pretty similar in both, though the Knight appears to be more competent due to the facade and skillness (but he will, of course, deny everything and tell he is bad at the Aspect).
Different: contrary to the Knight, the Rogue is a more Independant, Abundant, Passive, less Basically skilled Saving type Relocator Class, whose system function is Slightly decreasing the Aspect. He posesses the qualities of the Innovator and is Disharmonious with his own Aspect. The Rogue's views on the Aspect are softer and he often relies on others for that matter. All in all, the Aspect is "not his thing". He doesn't brag about his achievements in the Aspect as much as he generally prefers not to act openly. In addition, the Rogue loves the inverted Aspect and is objectively good in it. In the own Aspect he tends to help each and every person around, while the Knight is very selective and usually divides the masses into "his pals" and "others". The Rogue's Aspect source is External.
All in all, classpecting is heavily reliant on practice, thus, if you want to master it, the best way of learning is to go out in the field and meet as many people as you can. Talk to them, make friends, make observations and make mistakes… And benefit from the experience!
