I was five when I first experienced a kind of fear no child should.

Twelve, when I stopped trusting touch.

Fifteen, when I blamed myself for someone else’s actions.

Those stories—I’ll share one day. Maybe when I’m ready. Maybe when I’ve cried the last tear over them. Maybe when I no longer feel shame that was never mine to carry.

Now, here I am—trauma, anxiety, emotional shutdowns, anger issues, sudden tears, and a heart still aching to be understood.

My family doesn’t see this version of me.

They see a rude, stubborn, rebellious girl who “lost her way.”

They don’t know that I lost my childhood.

They don’t know I scream in silence every time they call me “shameless.”

They don’t know I tried.

And I did. I really did.

But when a home becomes a battleground, peace feels like rebellion.

I guess I’ve always been the kind of girl who feels too much but speaks too little.

The one who will listen to everyone but quietly bleed behind a locked door.

The one who gives second chances to the world but never gives one to herself.

Now, I’m on a journey—not of becoming perfect, but of becoming free.

I’m learning to heal. To pause. To breathe before reacting.

To let go of anger without hating myself for once needing it to survive.

To embrace softness again without thinking it’ll make me weak.

I don’t have it all figured out.

But I’ve started.

And maybe that’s enough for now.
