Seth the giant lizard! Seth is so much fun to draw, partly because his design is always changing as he keeps growing. When he stared out as a bit of background detail, I didn't fully appreciate how much he would end up taking over the page compositions by the end of the book! Lena the medusa! Medusa are another moster that embodies male fear of female power, the woman whose looks end lives. Sally the swamp hag! Hags are awesome because they are so problematic. They are the embodiment of the male fear of female power. A strong, independent woman connected to nature, who lives alone wth her cauldron and her familiars, who looks however she wants to look.
