My cat used to live peacefully with me at home, running around and playing in every corner as if she knew nothing about fear. But the war changed everything. The lively little creature that once filled the house with joy now hides in dark corners, flinching at the slightest sound. She no longer cares to play or run; instead, she sits close to my feet, as if seeking a sense of safety that has faded.

During the difficult days, I watch her leap in terror whenever she hears an explosion, quickly hiding under the bed or behind the furniture, her eyes filled with fear. I can’t explain to her what’s happening, and I can’t promise her that everything will be okay. All I can do is sit beside her, calm her, and gently stroke her fur.

She’s lost her appetite, and she’s completely stopped playing. Life under bombardment is heavy for her small, fragile heart, and I feel helpless to protect her. In the rare moments of calm, I try to create a space of safety for her, cautiously offering her food and trying to bring some normalcy back into her life, but the fear remains in her small heart.

I never realized that war could leave such a mark on a small, innocent creature like my cat.

Life in Gaza..💣🇵🇸

In Gaza, every day brings new challenges, as if life here refuses to give us a moment of peace or hope. I live in a city under siege, where the sounds of explosions and bombing have become part of my daily life. Sometimes, I can hardly tell the difference between the sound of thunder and the sound of missiles. Everything here reminds me that I am trapped, from the closed horizon to the shortage of all basic needs.

Life here feels like a journey through hardships. Food, electricity, and clean water have become treasures we search for every day. I stand in long lines at gas stations or bakeries, looking at the tired faces around me, faces that can’t hide their exhaustion. Everyone here is struggling, each with their own story that intertwines with the stories of others, as if we all carry Gaza’s burdens on our shoulders.

But the most painful feeling is the sense of helplessness. Our dreams here are big, but they are locked within this large prison, trapped by borders and walls, and weighed down by fear. Sometimes, I wonder: Will there be a day when we can live without fear, without tension, a day when I can breathe freely, work without obstacles, and build my future as I wish?

Still, there are rare moments of joy and hope—perhaps when I see children laughing in the neighborhood streets, or when my family and I gather to eat together despite everything. These moments give me the strength to keep going, to hold onto hope, even if it feels like a mirage.

In Gaza, life is filled with hardship, where the pursuit of education feels like an ongoing battle for survival and a hope for a better tomorrow. Under the weight of a continuous blockade and the lack of essential infrastructure, students here face daily challenges, especially with constant power outages and the absence of reliable internet access. Yet, ambition and the desire for learning remain an unextinguished flame in the hearts of Gaza’s youth.

When dawn breaks, many students prepare, not to go to their university classrooms as is typical, but to embark on a difficult journey just to reach a place where they can connect to the internet. The search for a spot with weak signals or a community center that offers limited internet access becomes a daily mission. They set out on a path that can take hours, crossing rocky roads and enduring fatigue, driven by the hope that they might find even a brief connection to attend lectures, submit assignments, or communicate with their professors.

Some students may find a small cafe with a generator that runs for limited hours, or a modest building with basic means of connectivity. There, they gather despite the cramped space, taking turns at the few available computers, sitting in silence, completely focused. Under the dim light of faint lamps, their faces are tired, yet their eyes shine with hope and determination. They move through their lessons, struggling to listen despite the frequent interruptions in sound and sudden connection losses.

And when the electricity suddenly cuts off, casting the place into darkness, you can see smiles form on their faces as they exchange hopeful looks. They’ve grown accustomed to this darkness and have learned to plant light within, drawing strength from their belief that education is the tool that can change their future—and the future of a place that barely escapes siege and deprivation.

On the way back, they talk about their modest dreams fueled by a spirit of resilience. One wants to become an engineer to help rebuild his torn homeland, another aspires to be a doctor to relieve his people’s suffering, and a third dreams of being a teacher, passing this perseverance to the next generations. Every step on this path reminds them that hope for change requires effort and patience, but they believe it’s worth every sacrifice.

This is life in Gaza: filled with challenges, yet also filled with stories of free spirits who do not know despair.

Amid the difficult conditions in Gaza due to the war, my studies at the Faculty of Engineering at Palestine University were suddenly interrupted. My classes were full of academic challenges, but daily life took a different turn when the war began. Initially, the university stopped offering in-person lectures due to the deteriorating security situation, which made me think about how I could continue my studies.

Fortunately, the university started offering online lectures, and despite the tough circumstances, I decided to continue my studies remotely. However, due to the war, many challenges arose, making distance learning more difficult. The constant power outages were one of the biggest problems, as electricity would cut off for long hours, making it impossible to attend lectures or complete assignments. Additionally, the internet was unstable, which made it even harder to communicate with professors and classmates.

On the financial side, things became more complicated. Due to the war, some sources of income were interrupted, making it difficult to pay for university fees, including internet costs, which became essential for staying connected to online lectures. I also faced difficulties in accessing study materials due to limited access to libraries or stores selling books and educational supplies.

In these circumstances, I found myself dealing with significant challenges academically and financially. However, I didn't give up and did my best to continue my studies despite all the obstacles.
