Isn’t it crazy to think you pass your death day every year and don’t even know it?

I just have to vent about this (spoilers):

Iris choosing not to meet Roman and go ahead underground to kill Darce and not do anything to tell him??? Ignoring the fact Roman wouldn’t have shown up because we was captured,

(which I also and peeved about, like, you heard him scream?? And didn’t try to find him?? I know she didn’t realize it was him but she choose not to help someone in need and later Roman was faced with that same choice with Darce’s soldier after escaping that lead to his capture so…)

If Roman hadn’t been captured and went to meet Iris and she didn’t show up, what would he have done? Go to the south of town (that getting bombed) thinking she was in trouble maybe?

Idk how this never crossed her mind. I get she was doing the typical “not communicating with so to keep them safe” but that only works is they are in a safe place. Oath was literally a war zone.

Long rant, sorry, made the last bit of the book unenjoyable with these feelings and needed to get the out.

Edit: plus, what was even the point of taking Roman to the “traitors row” underground and not have Iris and Artie find and SAVE him when they got there besides just torturing us readers!!!?

Christopher Lightwood was the worst, the saddest, the hardest death to get through that Cassie has ever written.

More than Livvy or George Lovelace. Christopher was the closest to the main characters, if not a main character himself, part of a solid group and actually had a future laid out for him (his inventions, Grace) and it was stolen from him.

Christopher Lightwood deserved better. Ave Atque Vale, Kit.
