Ethan inhaled slowly, eyes scanning over his own reflection in the mirror. This is fine. Today's fine. Just don't bother Carla, or anyone else, and it'll maybe be fine. His mind drifted to Carla for too long. He gripped the marble countertops and sighed, doubt seeping into his head.

Maybe.

A soft screeching of sorts, quite rudely, interrupted Ethan's thoughts. The bus had came to a stop outside of the house, rusted breaks making an uncomfortable noise. Sighing once more, Ethan grabbed his book bag off the floor and slung it over his shoulder as he walked out of his house.

He took a final deep breathe as the bus doors opened. Yep. Here we go. Don't mess it up. Ethan tentatively climbed onto the bus and navigated through the narrow pathway for a seat. Loud chatter and laughter filled the bus, making Ethan's nerves heighten an his stomach turn. He kept his head down, picking at the skin around his nails.

Ethan stopped at the end of the pathway, eyes locking on the last free seats. He quickly slid into one of the seats and put his bag down in the seat next to him. The person seated behind him gave him a weird look before burying their face back in their phone.

The bus let out another screech before it lurched forward, going onto it's next stop. Ethan leaned his head back against his seat as he tried to tune out the all the noise. He began to zone out, thinking about all that could happen today. He cringed slightly.

Another person got on. Ethan didn't even notice until he felt eyes boring into the side of his head. He paused and looked up, going still. There stood Carmen again. Clearing his throat, Carmen looked down at Ethan's bag. “..That taken?” Ethan stared at him blankly. Well then. What. He cautiously glanced behind him. This time it had to be Carla. The curly haired girl was no where to be seen, only the person from before raising an eyebrow. He blinked. “Oh.”

Carmen coughed to get Ethan’s attention, tapping his foot against the floor of the bus. Ethan jolted slightly and looked back at Carmen. He laughed nervously before pulling his bag away from the seat. “No-nope!” His bag dropped to the floor, items spilling out in front of him. Carmen snorted and took a seat next to him. He silently picked up Ethan’s stuff and put it back in the bag, sitting it down by the seats. “Thanks.” Ethan’s shoulders tensed. He stared down at his hands, contemplating why this was happening again. First the lunch thing, now this? Maybe there were just no other seats. He swallowed. Yeah.

It was mostly silent for the ride to school, the two occasionally bumping into each other as the bus moved. Carmen looked over at Ethan and paused before he snorted. Ethan blinked. “You don’t have to sit so tense. I’m not gonna fuckin’ bite.” Ethan stared at him before slightly calming down. Carmen rolled his eyes and looked forward to the seat ahead of them, now smiling slightly.

Carmen silently got off when they got to the school, leaving Ethan in confusion of what just happened. Again.

I find it strange when people use body types as an insult, which puts me in a weird position whenever people who do use it that way are being negative about their body type. Being fat shouldn’t be known as a bad thing, and it pisses me off that it is. Being fat isn’t a bad thing, and neither is being skinny, or being anything else. They’re just different body types, not something negative about anyone. Whenever I've stated that I'm chubby, everyone around me has always jumped to say, "no you're not, you look fine!" even though I very clearly am. Even when I haven't meant it as a bad thing. When people deny someone being plus sized, it just adds more stigma that it's a bad thing, and implies that people who do have those body types don't look nice.

Other body types also shouldn't be put down to make another feel better, everyone looks absolutely lovely. No body type is an insult. Idk I just think about this a lot and find the logic shitty-

Hey jsyk it’s 2018 and if you’re still drawing characters with big lips like THIS, even if they’re pale/not black, it’s fucking racist. Stop doing it.

No excuses. “It’s a stylistic choice!” It’s a RACIST stylistic choice.

“Idk how else to draw big lips!” That’s because you relied on racist caricatures and are a bad artist. Teach yourself. Learn. If you’re not willing to do that, then you are a bad, racist artist.

“But it’s part of the character design!” Yeah, and it’s racist. If it’s your OC, then change it. If it’s not your OC, make the right choice and draw them with normal looking bigger lips instead of this racist monstrosity.

And if this post makes you uncomfortable because it’s calling you out for stuff you’ve done, good. Fix it. Own up to it. Grow.
