Bowling Night and Get Famous both have furniture that also match this set...would love to see all of them done in these colors
For some reason, the sims really doesn’t have a lot of pink stuff? I get really frustrated because none of the furniture fits my aesthetic, so I made a few recolors! Obviously these require tiny living to work.

you’d think r/tumblr, considering its mostly text post screenshots, would know how to read and be able to tell that they’re not r/pukicho, but apparently not

Would love to see a version of this that increases the cubemap resolution, to solve the blurry shine texture problem rather than getting rid of the shine altogether. That shine is required for some objects to look right- the new container home walls, for example, lose all of their fake depth when there’s no cube map applied and are obviously flat textures- but with it applied, they appear to be 3D modeled. I tried to make my own cubemap texture a while back but could never get anyone to help me find where the cubemap texture is actually stored!!

So, this is another one of my little attempts at making the game more visually enjoyable.
To emulate believable reflections without setting fire to everyone’s computer, what most games do is use cubemaps. Simply put, they’re images layered underneath everything that move depending on the camera position. Parallax and all that stuff.
What developers usually do for sandbox/open-world games is automatically generate cubemaps so that it actually looks like objects are reflecting the world around them. For whatever reason (probably performance), TS4 doesn’t do that. The developers use premade images with white squares that vaguely resemble windows and stuff, cause most of the time when you’re indoors that’s where light comes from.
Now, that doesn’t always work. And with that I mean it almost never works. When it’s completely dark, for example, the cubemaps get completely blown out, and instead of a nice reflection you get a weird alien glow on your kitchen tiles. You also just get random reflections that don’t really come from anywhere, and that can be a little immersion breaking. I personally hate it.
So I replaced all cubemaps in the game with empty, black textures. That way, they become transparent and don’t ever show up at all. To me, that looks way better, the game looks more natural and things look less plastic-y. It’s my personal preference, and I’m posting this here in hopes that maybe someone else likes this look as well :)
All pictures in the post are taken with both my ITTL and OOTD mods! Highly recommend you to use both of those as well.

This says its CC free, but there’s lots of missing wallpapers and furniture, especially in the school...

Before Pleasantview, there was Sunset Valley. Founded by the Goth family, and built up by the Landgraabs to be a quiet, peaceful town. But when the Altos arrive with uptown ideals, will the townsfolk feel the need to choose sides?
Sunset Valley: A 3T2 Neighborhood Recreation
🌄🌳🌴🎣🎸️🏡🚸⛱️⛵🌅
Here it is (✨conveniently for my 1,000th post yay✨) my 3T2 recreation of Sunset Valley, the base game neighborhood from The Sims 3. It is a fully populated CC FREE neighborhood (on this wonderful terrain by Voleste) featuring the lots and Sims you know and love (or don’t) from the Sims 3. It was made with all EPs and SPs and checked with Hoodchecker. I’ve been working on this for about 5 months now and I’m so very excited to finally share it. I’ll try to keep it brief and bore you with all the long details below the cut. (Warning: it gets quite long)
💕 Special thanks to @drewinthesky, @jawusa, and @katatty for play-testing, giving me advice, and being all around wonderful human beings, as well as everyone who has been kind and encouraging throughout this project. 💕
