I SAID YOU COULD STOP
(26/07/2018)
Tumblr media
Dear Nostalgic Cartoonists,
On 25/10/2014, perennially unhip newspaper comic strip Hi and Lois joined the Calvin and Hobbes remembrance wagon by featuring Calvin’s babysitter, Rosalyn, drawn in an imitation of Bill Watterson’s style. This inexplicable, out-of-character cameo in a mainstream publication means that everyone else can stop now; the boat has officially sailed.
I just thought you all should know.
Love, M

Prime Master VECTOR PRIME with METALHAWK decoy armor! Imagine him granting the power of time-travel for shenanigans or convert the decoy armor to blaster mode to arm up your other figures!
Legends class BEACHCOMBER completes a set of 1985 Mini-Vehicle recreations, and can seat one Prime Master or Titan Master figure! (Sold separately.)
Deluxe class DINOBOT SLUG brings the DINO-MIGHT! What secret power does he hold that involves his strangely fist-shaped piece of armor? We hear there’s a fella named VOLCANICUS who might know…
All Power of the Primes wave 1 figures should be in-store now! You can also choose from Prime Masters Liege Maximo (with Skullgrin decoy armor) and Micronus (with Cloudburst decoy armor), Legends class Skrapnel, Slash, and Windcharger, and Deluxe class Dreadwind, Jazz, and Swoop! Voyagers and Leaders should be available soon, if not already!
Vector Prime, Beachcomber, and Dinobot Slug provided by Rogers & Cowan.

TFWiki.net is proud to participate in the 2017 Hall of Fame Fans’ Choice poll!
In 2010, Hasbro launched the Transformers Hall of Fame, honoring both those who have contributed to the development of our beloved franchise and the characters that inhabit it! Now, in 2017, the voting begins again… but the rules have changed!
AGAIN AGAIN!
The newest voting rules are as follows:
FAVORITE TRANSFORMERS CHARACTER (Fictional Robot Character)
Pick your top three favorite Transformers characters from any medium EXCEPT THE LIVE-ACTION FILM SERIES. They must actually be Transformers; sorry, but no humans, non-Transformer aliens, non-Transformer robots, or anything else of the sort are being considered for the Hall of Fame. Any votes for such entities will not be tabulated. It is the sole discretion of the contest organizers to decide what does and does not count.
Take your top three list and put it in alphabetical order. Order of preference does not matter. Feel free to denote the character’s franchise of origin, although these distinctions may or may not figure into the final results.
You must take this list and put it on this page, making sure to bulletpoint and sign it.
You cannot pick a specific version of Arcee, Bumblebee, Cosmos, Dinobot, Grimlock, Ironhide, Jazz, Megatron, Beast Wars Megatron, Optimus Primal, Optimus Prime, Predaking (combiner), Prowl, Ratchet, Rodimus, Shockwave, Soundwave, Starscream, Ultra Magnus, Waspinator, or Wheeljack. They’ve already been inducted!
Do not vote for the same characters in both character categories.
FAVORITE TRANSFORMERS MOVIE CHARACTER (Fictional Robot Character)
Pick your top three favorite LIVE-ACTION FILM SERIES Transformers characters. Per the the informational email, they must characters that appeared on film. They must also actually be Transformers; sorry, but no humans, non-Transformer aliens, or anything else of the sort are being considered for the Hall of Fame. Any votes for such entities will not be tabulated. It is the sole discretion of the contest organizers to decide what does and does not count.
You can vote for any character film character who was previously inducted! This includes Arcee, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Hot Rod, Ironhide, Jazz, Megatron, Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Shockwave, Soundwave, Starscream, and Wheeljack.
Take your top three list and put it in alphabetical order. Order of preference does not matter.
You must take this list and put it on this page, making sure to bulletpoint and sign it.
Do not vote for the same characters in both character categories.
2017 TRANSFORMERS HASBRO TOY OF THE YEAR (Fictional Robot Character)
Pick your top three official Transformers toys released or scheduled to be released in the 2017 calendar year. (We’ll make an exception for toys that technically first showed up in the 4th quarter of 2016 but didn’t propagate until 2017.)
Pick only toys that have been officially announced. No leaks!
If a character appeared in more than one scale or toyline, please specify the size-class and product range (eg Titans Return Voyager Megatron vs The Last Knight Legion Megatron).
No toys only released by TakaraTomy. It’s the Hasbro toy of the year!
Take your top three list and put it in alphabetical order. Order of preference does not matter.
You must take this list and put it on this page, making sure to bulletpoint and sign it.
Only one entry per user per category.
Transformers Wiki’s entry period ends at 3pm on July 16th, 2017. The final results will then be sent to our friends at Rogers and Cowan, who will combine our data with that of other fansites; the overall top three Transformers will then be used in an official poll, where the world at large will vote for the next entrants into the Hall of Fame!

Daredevil Battles Hitler might be my favorite comic cover of the 1940s, and is in my upper echelon for comic covers in general. I mean - just look at that thing! Art by Charles Biro and Bob Wood, says here, though I suppose you could argue Alois and Klara contributed, too. I’d never actually seen the back cover until I put this post together, so was unaware of all the other Lev Gleason Publications heroes shilled there.
To my surprise and relief, this summary says Real American Number One was an actual Native American hero/attorney, not just some white guy who decided to dress up for vigilantism. Can’t vouch for the stories myself, of course, but they’re there to download. No need to feel guilty about getting ‘em, either, as everything Lev Gleason published is now in the public domain.
Pictures ganked from a completed auction on the Heritage Auctions website, cropped/Photoshopped to dispense with the plastic clam-shell the issue now resides in.

PLUME: You received death threats in the past, haven't you? What happens when you get into that scary side of fandom? JMS: There are death threats. There are cyber-stalkers out there who have dedicated themselves to making my life a living hell. One person sent me a file which he said was a jpeg of his 10 year-old son's drawing of a Star Fury, and could I look at it and give him my reaction... I do that kind of stuff. I answer e-mail from strangers all the time - I still do. I downloaded the file, clicked on it, and just the second I clicked on it, I saw it didn't end in .jpg - it ended in .exe, and it began to wipe out my hard drive. I shut the system down, and spent the next two months trying to recover all my files. In addition to being a virus, it was also a Trojan horse file, so that I got a double whammy - it left behind a file saying, "Star Trek Rules." So there was some of that. To this day, there are still a number of cyber-stalkers on the USENET groups who have been trying to cause trouble, but that comes with any form of celebrity, however minor - and you can't get any more minor than writer/producer. I've just come to accept that that's the price you pay for standing up and creating something. PLUME: But it's far outweighed by the positive side of fandom, right... JMS: Oh yeah. It's that 10% which is socially maladroit, deeply disturbed, and emotionally weird, but 90% of fandom is cute and fuzzy and wonderful and great to hang out with. It's just that 10% that give the rest a black eye.
That time a Star Trek fan gave Babylon 5 show-runner J. Michael Straczynski a computer virus. From this IGN interview.
