Checkout this illustration I was commissioned to do by Mojo Magazine in the United States. Titled ‘The Dark Side of Solar’ the editorial explores the impact homeowners who can afford to invest in Solar are having on utility companies in the United States, and the knock-on effect this has for their ‘non-solar’ customers.

So Mother Jones Magazine commissioned myself to do a few illustrations for their March / April edition. Here’s the first spot illustration I did for them. The article was about modern bread baking and the big question around gluten. It’s a really interesting article and I highly recommend you check it out. I shall post the second illustration I worked on for them in the coming weeks. For now, I hope you enjoy this little chap! <3

It’s still winter! But it’s cool (no pun intended), more so because I’ve decided to get back into animation, having shelved these skills since finishing University; almost nine years ago now - it’s been that long!? 

I’ve invested a lot of myself in pushing my illustration over the last four years. The time is ripe to bring it all together. It feels like the lines between what defines, and more so, what illustrators are doing blurs the still image and the moving image together these days.

So, here I am, kicking this off with a small, fun, little .GIF of Nom Nom and Crispy standing out in the middle of nowhere, getting soaked to the skin. Why? I have no idea. Let’s be honest. Their hearts are in the right place. But, they were never the sharpest tools in the box.

I guess like so many others I wanted to visually represent solidarity with and express my sorrow for my fellow French creatives who lost their lives doing their craft. Furthermore, I  wanted to express my support for muslims. It’s important we do not look to these foul acts as something even remotely close to what the majority of good muslims all over the world consider in anyway an expression of their ‘faith’. It proves to tarnish and bloodstain it.

For me, it’s about standing up to terror, fear and violence the world over. Look in your hearts and it’s not hard to find the answers. Tolerance, love, reason and understanding. So I raise my weapon of choice, the pencil, biro, Wacom tablet pen in defence of sanity!
