I imagined Brett!Holmes and Hardwicke!Watson because my imagination for that story sends acd's canon to hell and buys a lot into the Granada adaptation.

This is the Faceblind!Watson AU we've all been bouncing around here in the fandom, and I've written this humble attempt. Would like to thank @i-dont-talk-for-days-on-end for being my beta and helped me with the intricacies of the condition.

Summary:

All Watson wants is to stay by Holmes’s side as friend and biographer; the best thing that has happened to him ever since the war. If he happened to have trouble recognizing him and his clients, then that was his problem to deal with—and it wasn’t going to be a problem. At least it wasn’t supposed to be. Then a nightmare of a case comes along and Watson is left in a mess of confusion and anxiety, and to top it all off Holmes is acting rather strangely. What's a man to do?

YES! I've always felt Holmes would struggle with reading Watson's feelings him and even his own feelings! It just makes so much sense to me. Besides, like you say, it's something that can lead to very funny and intense situations so it's definitely a brilliant HC imo :)

And SAME! I'm in love with the details in the books and also how the Granada series tried to include them all! And every time Watson describes Holmes' behaviour in such detail my heart pounds with joy because you can see how much he loves him!!
