Prologue, Chp. 1
Tumblr media
After our funtime Lucien and I returned to the dining room. Tamlin was discussing something with Lucien. He sat next to me and Lucien sat next to Tamlin. One of the servants had come to fetch us, informing us that Tamlin had requested our presence. Since Tamlin had arrived back home with Feyre by his side something felt different. I didn’t understand what it was but I had a feeling that she might be the one to save us, all of Prythian.
I held my hands in my lap after I’d finished my food. I did however look up when Feyre entered the dining room. Alis disappeared after helping her out, Feyre was wearing a dark blue tunic paired with a white shirt, and chestnut brown trousers. The colors did her well but they didn’t seem like the right pair of colors for Feyre. I knew that because I myself didn’t fit in Spring Court colors. I didn’t fit in Day Court colors either.
“Before you ask again: the food is safe to eat.” Tamlin’s voice ran through my ears, why would she think that the food wouldn’t be safe for her to eat. I discarded the thought and waited for Feyre to sit down at the table when Tamlin motioned towards a chair near the end of the table. He sighed when she didnt move towards the seat. “What do you want, then?” The blond male went on to question.
“I told you so, Tamlin.” Lucien glanced towards Tamlin. “Your skills with females have definitely become rusty in recent decades.”
I stiffened slightly when Tamlin released a growl. No doubt Feyre didn’t see the way I had reacted to him, and I knew that she’d ask me about it later if we were alone. Sometimes I wondered why I stayed in the Spring Court. There were days where I didn’t feel safe around Tamlin. But I had nowhere else to go, he had offered me a home when I needed it most. My parents had stopped searching for me as far as I could tell though that fear remained sharp in my mind.
I knew one day soon they’d come for me. They punish me first, burn me, slap me, they’d do something to make sure I suffered for abandoning them. Then when they were satisfied with the treatment they’d handed me, they’d hand me over to Amarantha. I knew they’d have wicked smile’s on their lips when they handed me over to that vile woman. I am surprised they never handed me over when I was a small child.
Though I suppose they didn’t need to then, my powers weren't at full strength and by the time they were Amarantha had started her reign of terror over Prythian. I only had access to half my powers currently, I was deathly afraid of what would happen if Feyre did save us. The thought was enough to send me back into a nightmare of my own making.
I stood in front of my parents, my mom was in front of my dad. I could hear their thoughts loud and clear. I could see the look of hate that rested in their faces. I wish so badly that Helion was here to help me. He had been friends with them long before I came into the picture. But it seemed that I had turned them into hateful Fae.
“You have no right to talk to us like that, Evangeline.” My mother never used my nickname, my father didn’t explore that either. It was clear they hated me and I hated them.
“Ungrateful, child.” My father’s thoughts were pressing down on my mind and I couldn’t handle it. My mother’s were just as worse.
“Why do you have a right to call me ungrateful, or a bitch, or a waste of space? I don’t need to hear how much you hate me, or how much I disappoint you. You're my parents, you're supposed to love me.” Tears had started to fall down my face. Even if I wanted to stop them I couldn’t. I’d always been able to hear what they thought about me, how they didn’t actually love me. I truly disappointed them and it broke my heart everytime.
“You should be grateful, we’ve raised you. There is a roof over your head because of us, Evangeline.” This time it was my father’s voice that ran through my ears.
“How can I be grateful when you treat me like trash, how can I━” I was cut off with a slap to my face. I staggered back, hitting the counter behind me. My teary eyes landed on my mother as she looked at me through flamed eyes. I’d never seen her this way. Well, I’d seen what she’d done when I stepped out of line so this wasn’t the first bruise I had on my body. It certainly wouldn’t be the last either.
“Go to the cellar now.” Her voice was stern, cold, and very calculated as she ordered me what to do. I didn’t like to go in the cellar, it was small and cramped and as I got older I could barely fit in it. It was supposed to be used for storing food but instead that was where they put me when I would get in trouble. I shook my head, not so much defying her. I really didn’t want to step foot in there.
“No.” I squeaked, still shaking my head. I didn’t have a chance to say anything more. Both my mother and father gripped my arms and dragged me out of the kitchen. I started to throw myself around screaming out.
“You will stay there for a week.” My mother said, I still didn’t want to go.
“Please. I don’t like it there. It’s lonely, and cold, and scary.” I couldn’t hold the words as they slipped past my lips.
“Too bad, a child like you needs to be shown how to act. If you can't treat us with respect then you deserve to be in the cellar.” Father’s voice could be scary at times and right now I didn’t like the way he sounded.
“Please.” I cried out again. But they ignored me, we made it outside and they threw me into the cellar locking the door back up so I couldn't get out. I turned on the ground and stared up at the door. There was no light shining through the wood, it was nighttime. The best time that they’d normally shove me in here.
“Evie?” A voice called out to me. I couldn’t see much, everything was gone. It was like I was still in that nightmare. How long had I been stuck in my head? “Evie?” That voice, I knew that voice. Finally everything started to come back to view as my waking nightmare disappeared from my mind. Lucien was kneeling in front of me.
I glanced around the room, Tamlin had a look of concern on his face just as Lucien did. It looked like Feyre had finally sat down to eat something. Good she needed to eat something, she looked far to skinny to not be eating anything. Lucien gently cupped my cheek, I was still in panic mode but I was calming down.
“I’m okay.” I whispered, a tear or two slipping down my face. His thumb wiped the tears away. My hand found its way to his wrist and I grasped it. I wondered then if Lucien were my mate. I hoped he was. I really enjoyed his company, and he was able to help me through whatever nightmare happened. But as much as I hoped for him to be my mate, there was something missing from what we had. “I’m going to head to bed early.”
I removed Lucien’s hand from my face and gave him a peck on his lips. Then I picked myself up, bowed to Tamlin. I don’t think I needed to do that but I knew it gave him a bit of an ego boost and sometimes he needed it. Then I looked at Feyre. She was staring at me with an understanding in her eyes. I didn’t know if I should be comforted by that fact or if I could be concerned that she might have a sense of understanding. So I walked up to her.
“If you wish to walk the grounds, I’m more than happy to join you.” I said, loud enough for Lucien and Tamlin to hear me. However before she could respond to me I left the dining room. I felt the door close behind me and when it did I pushed myself against the wall listening in on their conversation to see what they might say to Feyre, if they’d say anything at all.
“Is she going to be okay?” Feyre’s voice was soft and filled with concern as she asked the question.
“Eventually.” Tamlin said.
“Evie’s had a rough life, she’s still healing from the things her parents did to her.” Lucien only knew certain things about my parents. So did Tamlin. I never outright expressed things about them. They didn’t know how much pain my parents had put me through until I left them in the dust and landed in the Spring Court. Before I could hear anymore of the conversation I finally took off heading towards my shared room with Lucien.
───── ☾☾☾ ─────
He stood in front of me, a soft smile on his face. Hazel's eyes so bright. Red siphons shining just as bright. His hair blew against the gentle breeze as he held his siphoned hand out to me. His wings were stretched out behind him. I wanted to know everything about who he was, about who he was to me and why I’d been seeing him constantly. I gripped his hand, returning the smile.
Slowly I opened my eyes. Lucien had his arms wrapped around my waist, and the sudden need to break free from his grip was a lot stronger. Gently I removed myself from his grasp. I should stay in our room, but I needed some air. I could escape to the garden for a little bit, or at least until Lucien came searching for me. I hadn’t told him I was seeing another male in my dreams.
I didn’t even know who the male was, but he was important to me. That much was clear, maybe that was why I had started to feel the way I felt towards Lucien. I truly loved the red haired male, but not in a romantic way. More platonic, I think. I think secretly that Lucien knew that too he was just afraid to admit it. Honestly I was too. If we both admitted what we think we knew, we’d have to end the relationship.
If we were both truly mated to someone else neither of us could continue the relationship we currently had. It was fun, the sex was great but there was something missing, I knew it. With these dreams of the hazel eyed male I knew that much was true. I sat down in the grass when I realized that I had finally made it outside. I looked up at the night sky taking in the stars that shined brightly.
I really wanted to know who this male was. I wanted to see more of him. I wanted to hear his voice, his laugh, his moans, I wanted all of it. And I hated myself so much for feeling like I was betraying a male I barely knew for Lucien. I sighed in defeat and fell down to the grass. I needed to change my thoughts to something else. I fell backwards onto the grass and stared up at the sky, the stars shining brightly tonight.
“Why aren’t you in bed?” A voice ran through my body. How did he know I was up? I pulled my eyes away from the stars and looked back at Tamlin, he was upside down so I turned around to lay on my stomach, placing my hand underneath my chin so I could hold it up.
“I couldn’t sleep.” That wasn’t a lie, it was the truth. I really couldn’t sleep, but not because of what he thought might be bothering me. I was instead thinking about another male. Tamlin stayed earthly still in his spot.
“Another nightmare?” He asked cautiously. Which rightfully so, the last time we’d talked about my nightmares I had thrown him through a portal into a tree. He was pissed to say the least but he understood my need to not talk about my nightmares. Well, he learnt it after that situation happened.
“Yes.” I lied, lowering my head to the grass shortly after. Those hazel eyes found their way back into my mind. Finally I looked back up at Tamlin. He’d been waiting patiently for me to say something else. “Do you think Lucien’s my mate?” This question wasn’t out of the norm for me to ask, as I brought it up here and there over the last 49 years. And I knew that Tamlin would answer the same way he always had since I’d first asked the question.
“It’s very possible for the two of you to be mated to each other. You just need to give it time. These don’t happen overnight.” Like I said, the same scripted answer every time I ask it.
“Yeah, you’re right.” I picked myself up from the grass and started to walk past Tamlin, however his hand gripped my arm.
“Why do you keep bringing this up?” Tamlin’s voice was rough as he asked the question, I could feel his claws breaking out and into my skin. A soft whimper left my throat at the pain. Clearly he was frustrated that I was questioning what his friend and I had. But I had every right too, there was no bond between me and Lucien. I knew that much. It was with another male and I had no idea how to get to him.
“It’s nothing Tam.” I knew he didn’t believe that.
“It’s not nothing, something is bothering you, for to continuously ask this question.”
And he was right, there was no denying that. But I couldn’t tell him about the male I’d been seeing in my dreams. I couldn’t let that slip that I didn’t belong to Lucien, but that I belonged to someone other male. But I guess that was my luck, to be stuck to another male I didn’t know. Wherever he was, I was hoping that he was searching for me.
I pulled my arm away from Tamlin and glared at him. “Whatever is bothering me is none of your concern, my nightmares or dreams are not your concern. Stop asking me why I keep bringing this up.” Before I could give Tamlin a chance to reply to me I walked back towards the mansion. Heading straight for my bedroom. I closed the door and climbed back into bed. But I stared off at the moon as it started to drift away.
I needed answers. I needed them now before Tamling got in the way of what I needed to know. I had a slight feeling that there was only one I could get answers from. I’d need to find a way to contact Rhysand. He’d continuously stopped in over the last few years but he never sent nothing more than a “hi” my way. I knew what he could do, so maybe that would help me narrow down who this male was. That was my new quest.

WORD COUNT: 3.7K
Tumblr media
You had been friends with Eddie Munson from the moment you moved into the trailer park in Hawkins Indiana. Eddie was the first person𑁋other than your father𑁋that you left into your life after your mother. You and your father had moved back to his hometown of Hawkins just months after your mother passed away. You felt stuck, like your feet had cemented to the ground and you couldn’t move forward anymore.
Then one night when you were out stargazing to feel closer to your mother, you met Eddie Munson. From the moment he came over to talk to you, you knew one day that you’d marry him. As the two of you grew older neither of you could be separated from each other. Wayne and Bill𑁋your father𑁋couldn’t separate you two from each other. They both knew collectively from the moment that you met that one day you and Eddie would end up together.
They were shocked that neither of you had come forward and admitted your feelings for each other. But a small rift formed between your friendship when you started dating Jason Carver. You should’ve known better, but Jason had you locked under his spell and you thought it would be a way to move on from Eddie. Here you stood, Jason standing in front of you talking about the basketball game and how positive that they were going to win tonight.
But your mind constantly found its way back to Eddie, no matter how hard you tried to avoid thinking about him, you couldn’t. You especially couldn’t stop thinking about the way he’d feel on top of you. About the way his cock would feel deep inside you. Just thinking about him that way made you wet between your legs.
“Are you listening to me, baby?” Jason questioned, his eyes trained on you. You were pulled out of your delicious thoughts, staring at your soon to be ex. This was your chance, you’d break up with him and then you’d finally go after Eddie hoping that it wasn’t too late.
“No, I’m not.” You whispered, then you sighed. “I can’t do this anymore Jason.” Your voice was steady as you spoke to him. You watched shock slowly morph into his features.
“What are you saying?” You pulled your eyes away from Jason looking around the hallway seeing a few people staring at you two. Almost like they were waiting for the announcement that you were breaking up with him.
A sigh rips from your throat, “What I’m saying is that I’m breaking up with you.”
A shocked noise left Jason’s mouth. “You can’t break up with me, we’re great together.” Jason said, throwing his hands in the air.
“I can and I am. I’m not meant to be with you, I’m meant to be with someone else.”
With those words you turned away from the basketball player and walked away from him as he called out your name. He didn’t however make a move to stop you. As you started on your journey to find Eddie you were stopped by Dustin, Mike, Lucas, and Will; all of whom were in Hellfire with Eddie. It was nice of Eddie to take the boys under his wing this year, you loved him a little more seeing the way he treated them. They had needed a good role model other than Steve after everything that had happened over the last few years.
But you could all live a normal life thanks to El defeating the Mind Flayer. You wondered where Max and El were considering that they were all inseparable. You were certain they probably weren’t far, or would be joining them soon enough.
“Is there something I can help you with?” You asked, with a raised brow.
“We heard that you finally broke up with Carver.” Dustin said, his smile taking over his face.
“Wow, that happened not even 5 minutes ago and it spread around quickly.” You pause, keeping your eyes trained on the teens. “I did. Why?” A curious expression appeared on your face as you waited for one of them to answer the question.
“Does this mean that you and Eddie are finally going to get together?” Mike asked. All four of them plus everyone else in your friend group including Steve made it very clear to you and Eddie that you both were perfect for each other. You and Eddie were two pieces to the puzzle that fit perfectly together. Never when you were together though, only if you weren’t around each other.
“You four are something, that’s for sure.” You paused, but allowed a smile to break through and plaster your face. “That being said, I was on my way to find him and talk to him. Any of you happen to know where I might find Eddie? I know I should know but I’ve been distracted as of late.”
Even though you’d asked the question, you knew exactly where Eddie would be. But you wanted to make sure just in case you were wrong. He was in the drama room most likely setting up for tonight’s session for Hellfire.
“Drama room!” They all answered excitedly.
“Great! Thank you!”
With a smile still on your lips you turned again and walked in the direction of the drama room. You were more than ready to admit your feelings to Eddie even if it meant you’d possibly ruin your friendship. You opened the door when you reached the drama room, Eddie was already setting up for tonight’s session which you were excited to see. Eddie looked up from what he was doing and smiled at you. His smile sent a warm feeling through your body.
“Hey, I thought you’d be getting ready for the basketball game.” Eddie said, as he looked back down at what he was setting up.
“Uh, actually, I thought I’d skip out tonight and watch your campaign if that’s okay.” Your voice came out soft as you talked to Eddie. But in reality you just wanted to tell him how much you loved him. How you didn’t want to be apart from him anymore. But nothing would come out, your words were lodged in your throat, they wouldn’t move forward.
“Of course, you know you’re always welcome here.”
You walked over to Eddie and sat down in one of the chairs. One by one the boys started to file into the drama room. El and Max were now with them too. Eventually the campaign started and you kept your eyes on Eddie for the most part. You were memorized by how he explained the storyline and the whole premise of the campaign. Things took a turn for the worst when someone else entered the drama room.
All eyes including yours fell onto her, she was so beautiful. You were nothing compared to her, suddenly you felt so self-conscious. You started to fidget with your fingers as you watched the blond walk up to Eddie, interrupting the session.
“Uh, don’t mind me.” She said softly, then proceeded to give Eddie a kiss to his lips, a quick peck.
But that was enough for you to feel your entire world shatter. She sat down next to him and the campaign continued. Eddie took notice of the way your posture and mood suddenly changed. He thought it was odd but shook it off. As the campaign came to a close and everyone started to pack up, you quickly said your goodbyes to everyone except Eddie and the girl that had missed him. With your back to everyone you let the tears roll down your cheeks.
You weren’t upset that you had broken up with Jason. It was better for you, but you had pushed it off too long and now because of that you were too late to get Eddie, the one you always knew you wanted. Climbing in your car you turned it on and drove out of the school parking lot as fast as you could before Eddie had a chance to catch up to you. When you made it home you climbed out of your car and headed towards your trailer. Your dad was outside, a soft warm smile on his face.
“Hi, darling. How was the basketball game?” He asked, curiously.
“I didn’t go. I broke up with Jason because I realized that I’m in love with Eddie. But now I can’t have him because he’s dating someone else.”
You walked up the steps as you answered your father. The door closed behind you as you stepped into the trailer and headed straight for your room. Bill could hear the sadness in your voice. It broke his heart to see you like this. Once you were inside your room you locked the door, collapsed on your bed and let the rest of the tears out.
Days had passed since you broke up with Jason, you’d also managed to avoid Eddie as well. It even included not going to school for those few days. Each day Eddie stopped by your home after school to talk to you, but you weren’t in the right space to talk to him. Your father would send him away saying that you hadn’t been feeling well. But your dad wasn’t home right now and Eddie needed to see you.
He needed to understand why you wouldn’t talk to him. You were curled into your side, your blanket was wrapped around your entire body and you had a horror movie on. You’d normally watch them with Eddie, but you had it on more so for background noise. The sound was up just enough for you to not hear Eddie enter your trailer.
Your eyes were closed and your cheeks were wet with tears. No matter how hard you had tried to stop crying you just couldn’t stop. It hurt too much. Eddie came up to your cracked door and knocked on it softly.
“It’s me, princess.” Eddie called out, voice soft and sweet as you remembered.
“Go away.”
Your voice was hoarse and low. You gripped your blanket tighter. Eddie ignored you, opening the bedroom door and walking in. He closed it behind him, then Eddie pulled his shoes off and climbed into your bed. You felt the dip of your bed and tried to move away. Eddie wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you into his chest.
You were desperate to get away from him. The position that you were currently in wasn’t working for either of you. So Eddie lifted you up and turned your body so your back was on your bed. The metalhead pushed himself in between your legs, and you felt yourself stop breathing for a brief moment. Eddie held your hands above your head, suddenly everything was different.
“Why are you ignoring me?” Eddie questioned, a stern look on his face. You looked up at him finally, his brown eyes staring back at you. But there was something different, his eyes were covered in lust.
“I’m not ignoring you. Let go of me Eddie.” You mumbled looking away from him. Eddie removed a hand from your hands, he reached out and grabbed a hold of your jaw turning it back so he could see your eyes.
“Yes. You. Are.” He paused, eyes skimming down your body before moving back up and resting on your eyes. “I want to know why.”
“Because.” You spoke, your bottom lip trembling as you fought back to hold the tears in. You didn’t need to cry in front of him, not like this.
“Because why?” Eddie pressed.
“I broke up with Jason, because I…” You paused, it was now or never.
“You what?” Eddie let go of your hands and pulled away from your body, he leaned down on his knees but continued to stare at you. You suddenly missed his warmth.
“I broke up with him, I couldn’t bear the thought of being with someone who I didn’t love. Not when the person I love is you. And I wanted to tell you, I did, really. But the words got stuck in my throat and then she came in and kissed you and I knew… I knew that I had missed my time.” You pulled yourself up and moved back towards your headboard, then proceeded to wrap your arms around your legs when you pulled them to your chest.
“That’s why you’ve been ignoring me?” Eddie asked as he paused, running a hand down his face. “Look, she was nothing. I told her she could come watch the campaign session, but I swear I hadn’t planned for her to kiss me, okay. That was the last thing I wanted to happen.” Eddie adjusted himself, coming up next to you and wrapping an arm around you. “I always knew, you know. I always knew that I loved you, and deep down I think I always knew that you loved me too. But I didn’t want to ruin what we had over my feelings. I didn’t want to lose my best friend.”
“Oh, Ed.” You stared up at him, his brown eyes glazing over you. Before you could stop yourself you had your lips on Eddie’s and were kissing him with all the passion you had inside you. When you finally pull back from the heated kiss, you just stare at him. “You could never lose me.”
Eddie closed the space between you, his lips found purchase on yours again. His ringed fingers tangled into your hair, palms resting gently against your cheeks as he continued to kiss you. Eddie helped lower you down on the bed, until he was back between your legs. Your hands tangled into his long brown curly locks as he removed his lips from yours and placed them on your neck. He smirked when a soft moan escaped your lips.
The moan encouraged him to suck your skin in between his lips while his hand wandered down your chest. Finally his hand rested on your breasts, squeezing one before moving to the other. He could feel your nipples grow taut after he touched them. Eddie let off of your skin, pulling back from your body slightly. He looked down at your net to see a bruise forming where he had pulled at the skin. His smirk grew bigger as he stared down at your already blissed out face.
“Is this real?” You asked softly.
“It’s real, baby. Lean up.” Eddie said. You listened to his order and leaned yourself up from the bed slightly. “Good girl.” The words were smooth when they left his mouth, you felt yourself clenching your thighs together as Eddie leaned closer and reached for the bottom of your shirt. He grasped the shirt and started to lift it up your body.
Once the shirt was removed from your body you were left in only your bra, and shorts. Your hair fell back down landing on your chest. He threw your shirt onto the floor then reached forward again. His hands rested on your waist and slid up your back. His fingers unclasped your bra and pulled it off your shoulders. Finally he threw it to the floor and gently pushed you back down towards the mattress.
Eddie leaned down and placed kisses on your chest, slowly moving down. You gasped quietly when Eddie took a nipple into his mouth and started to flick his tongue around it. You closed your eyes, happy with just feeling him on you. Eddie pulled his lips from your nipple and moved to the other repeating the same thing. With his free hand he pinched your other nipple between his index finger and thumb.
Another moan slipped past your lips. He smirked at you, pulling away from your breasts and moving down your body. Eddie left a trail of kisses down your stomach until he reached your pussy. Eddie placed his lips on each thigh, avoiding the one spot you needed him most right now.
“Eddie.” You moaned out, lust filled eyes on him. He looked amazingly handsome between your thighs and you couldn’t help the smile that managed to cover your face. “Please.” You added, your voice barely above a whisper.
“So needy, princess.” Eddie whispered, his hot breath hitting your pussy.
He stuck his tongue out in front of your already wet cunt, then you felt his tongue on you. He licked a strip, moving from the bottom all the way to your clit. He sucked your clit into his mouth liking side to side. Gently he lifted a finger to your entrance and pushed a finger in. You tightened around his finger, a groan left Eddie’s lips causing a shutter to run through your body.
The slurping sound from his tongue ran through your ears, another moan left your lips when Eddie added another finger and curled them inside you hitting that sweet spot. You felt your orgasm inching closer with each lick of his tongue on your clit. You threw your head back, hitting your pillows. Your eyes were squeezed shut, mouth gaped open, your orgasm was so close.
“Eddie, please.” You moaned.
Eddie tugs at your clit, and curls his fingers inside again. When Eddie did that you felt yourself tighten around his fingers. Then he started to pick his pace up, pulling his fingers out only to shove them back inside of you.
“That’s it princess, cum on my fingers.” He whispered.
He stuck his tongue out again softly licking your clit. You shuttered, as you came on his fingers. Your moans echoed around the room as the remnants of your orgasm hit you. Eddie rested his head on your thigh, pulling his fingers from your entrance. You watched with blissed out eyes as he sucked your juices off his digits.
“You taste so divine, princess.” A smile fell onto your lips. Eddie pulls himself away from you, he climbs off the bed and proceeds to remove his clothes one by one. Eddie tugs his boxers off, his cock springs free hitting his stomach, pre-cum drips from the tip. He climbs back onto the bed and hoovers over top of you.
You pull your hand to your mouth and spit on it. Then you reach out and grab a hold of his cock and begin to stroke it. A moan leaves his lips at the feeling of your hand on him. He rests his head against yours. He pushes your hand off his cock and grips it, then you feel him tapping his cock against your clit. A strangled moan leaves your swollen lips.
Eddie smirks, he pulls back, placing his cock at your entrance. You watch as he pushes his cock inside of you. Eddie moans as you grip him tightly. Another moan leaves you, Eddie pushes all the way inside and settles there allowing you to adjust to his size.
“Fuck, I’ve waited so long to feel this close to you.” Eddie whispered.
“Please move.” You stared up at Eddie’s brown eyes. You’d waited long enough too and you needed him to move. He could see the pleading look that covered your face. Eddie pulled back just until the tip of his cock was the only thing that remained inside you. Then he pushed forward slamming back into you. Both of you moaned out in pleasure.
You could feel yourself tighten around Eddie’s cock as he continued the pace he was going. The sound of skin slapping skin echoed through the bedroom. Another moan fell from your lips, Eddie leaned forward and kissed them swallowing your moan. Eddie moves his fingers down to your clit and starts circling the bud. He pulls another moan from your lips, it echoes in the room when he pulls away to kiss your neck.
Your orgasm was getting closer. Eddie’s hips slammed into yours. Continuous moans left both your mouths as both of you inched closer towards your impending orgasm. Eddie could feel you getting closer. A smile brightened on his face. You placed a hand down on your bed and gripped the sheets tightly, arching your back.
“Fuck, Eddie.” You moaned.
“Are you close?” He whispered breathlessly.
“So close.” You mumbled. Eddie kept his finger on your clit rubbing in fast tight circles. His cock hitting that sweet spot inside of you.
“You gonna cum all over my cock, princess?” You could only nod your head, words weren’t forming on your tongue. “I want to feel you cum.”
“Eddie.” Another whimpered moan left your lips after breathing his name. He felt his orgasm getting closer, but he wanted to feel you cum around his cock first.
“Cum on my cock.”
You obeyed Eddie, a moan falling from your lips. Eddie felt you squeezing him, he went to pull out, however you gripped onto his arms.
“No. Inside.” The words left your mouth and you watched through dazed eyes as Eddie complied and kept himself inside you. He slammed his hips into you a final time cum releasing inside you. Eddie slowed his rhythm down more until his hips stilled. He stared down at you with bright brown eyes. Lust filled eyes, but still bright.
Slowly Eddie removed himself from you, pulling back and climbing off the bed. You stared up at the ceiling, no thoughts in your mind just the blissful aftermath of your post orgasm. When Eddie returned you gasped feeling something could touch your cunt.
“Just cleaning you up, princess.” Eddie threw the cloth in your close basket. He climbed back into the bed and pulled you onto his chest.
“So, what does this mean now?” You asked, finally breaking the silence after the two of you had settled down into the bed.
“It means your mine.” Eddie whispered, placing a soft kiss on your head.
You tilted your head towards him with a smile so bright Eddie always wanted to see it. “I think I can live with that.” You leaned up to him and kissed his lips passionately.
“Good.” You laid your head down on his chest and fell asleep, at some point he had pulled his boxers on and his shirt. And you had your shirt and underwear back on. Finally he fell asleep holding you. An hour later your dad came in calling for you, when he opened the door he stared at you resting in Eddie’s arms. They were wrapped around your waist tightly.
“It’s about damn time.” He whispered, closing the door and walking back down the hallway.

Discovery of Memories 1 | Helion
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUMMARY: You had no memories when you crash landed into the Night Court. The discovery of you would cause a lot of tension, but only one was after you. One you didn't remember.
PAIRINGS: Helion x Reader
CONTENT WARNING: SFW, angst, some fluff, lost memories, mentions of trauma (will be discussed more in later parts).
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Here is the first part in my multi-part series. I'm very excited for this and can not wait to get further into this series. This will probably be a slow burn between Helion and Reader. This will also get more mature as I progress through the parts.
WORD COUNT: 1.9K
Tumblr media
You didn’t know who you were. You didn’t have a name, well, you didn’t remember it. A cough escaped your mouth as you picked yourself up. You looked around to see that you had landed in some kind of bakery. Eyes stared at you and it was making you uncomfortable. You swiped your hands down your clothes, the dust leaving the clothes as you did so. There were soft murmurs around the small building.
The doorbell rang, indicating that someone had entered the building. Panic was running through your body, your pulse had quickened. Where am I? You thought to yourself as you continued to look around until eventually your eyes landed on two sets of hazel eyes. They stepped closer, you noticed the Illyrian leathers that they wore. Someone had mentioned them to you, made you learn all their weaknesses.
You couldn’t remember their name either. The two males were in front of you, their eyes trained on you. One male had shoulder length hair, some of it was pulled back into a small bun at the top of his head while the rest laid on his shoulders. The other male had short hair, his wings were squeezed in tightly behind his shoulders just like the other male. He had shadows surrounding his body.
From where you stood it looked like they were whispering to him. One broke free and glided over to you, hoovering in front of your face. Then it moved back towards the male like it was reporting back to him. Probably telling him that you were a threat. Though you weren’t sure. Finally you took notice of 7 red and blue siphons that resided on both males. You were curious as to why they had so many siphons on their body.
“Who are you?” One asked gently, stepping towards you again.
You tilted your head slightly, a confused look resting on your face. You didn’t know how to answer that question. You didn’t know who you were, you couldn’t remember your name, where you were born, who your family was, where you came from. None of it was there. All memories had disappeared from your mind.
“I-I don’t know.” Your voice was soft and timid as you answered his question. You watched as the two males exchanged a look with each other.
“Can you come with us?” The other asked. You were hesitant to say the least, both males could see that. “We won’t hurt you, we just want to take you to our High Lord and Lady.” You gave a small nod of your head, for some reason you knew you could trust them. Wherever you’d come from before you couldn’t trust anyone. But the males in front of you seemed trustworthy.
They escorted you out of the barkery, promising to help rebuild the roof that you’d crashed into. You felt embarrassed that you’d crashed into the roof, and just before leaving you apologized to the owner for doing so.
“I’m Azriel, and that’s Cassian.” Azriel said softly, holding his hand out to you. You gave a nod of your head and accepted his hand.
“I wish I could tell you what my name is but I’m afraid I don’t remember it.” Cassian and Azriel gave you an odd look.
“Do you remember anything?” Cassian proceeded to ask.
“Just the memories from moment’s ago when I crashed into the barkery. I don’t remember anything before that.”
Azriel lifted you up into your arms causing you to release a squeak of surprise. Both males smirked at the noise. Then before you had a chance to ask what Azriel was doing his wings opened up and he shot into the sky, Cassian following right behind him. You held your head close to his chest, eyes closed tightly. You feared that at any moment you’d fall out of the sky. Though you supposed you had done exactly that.
“It’s okay.” Azriel whispered in your ear. You just shook your head, choosing to still keep your eyes closed. “We’re landing now.” You only opened your eyes when Azriel finally put you down on the ground.
When you pulled away from Azriel there was something attached to you. You noticed that you had a few of his shadows surrounding your body. A confused expression crossed your face.
“That’s not something you see every day, is it brother?” Cassian asked, eyes on Azriel.
“No, it’s not. How are you doing that?” Azriel proceeded to ask, his gaze on you.
You shrugged your shoulders. “I don’t know. Maybe I have the same powers as you.”
No. A voice whispered in your ear. We are not his, we are yours. Manipulation. You didn’t understand what was happening. Sure you didn’t remember anything before falling into the bakery, but this wasn’t something you could do.
“What are they whispering?”
“They're saying they’re mine, that it’s manipulation. But what does that even mean?”
“We’ll have to figure that out. We’ll talk to Rhys and Feyre about it.” You sent Azriel a nod. You didn’t understand what any of this meant but maybe they’d help you figure out what you were missing. You looked around a sparkle in your eyes as you stared at everything down below.
“Welcome to the House of Wind.” Cassian said loudly, causing you to pull your eyes over to him. “Everyone is inside. We do have a guest with us so please don’t mind the male.”
As you followed Azriel and Cassian into the home they explained that the High Lord of the Day court had stopped by to have a meeting with both Rhysand and Feyre who you learned were the High Lord and Lady they had mentioned before you left. As you walked into the room you were greeted with multiple sets of eyes. You scanned the room, there were two young children in the room, both had sets of wings on their bodies.
“That’s the one I’ve seen.” A voice said. You looked at where the voice came from to spot a female who looked very similar to two other females in the room. She was standing next to another male, her hand entangled with his. He had long red hair that complemented his golden-brown skin. He looked somewhat similar to another male that stood in the room.
That male was wearing a golden crown on top of his onyx hair, his skin was dark brown, and you had to admit that he looked very handsome. There was something about him that tugged you towards him. Two fae walked up to you, your eyes rested on their hands seeing what looked like wedding bands. You assumed that they were married.
“You assumed correctly.” The male said, shock ran through your eyes as you stared at him.
“This is my husband, Rhysand. I’m Feyre.” The female spoke, holding her hand out to you. You were afraid to shake her hand considering that you had touched Azriel and suddenly had his shadows. There were still swarming around your body. You wondered what you could do to get rid of them.
Safe. Can be trusted. Don’t touch.
Feyre looked at you with a concerned look on her face. “Sorry. It’s just that when I touched Azriel. His shadows became mine. I don’t know how that’s possible though.”
“We’ll figure it out.” Rhysand said calmly. “What’s your name?” He proceeded to question.
“I don’t know. I can’t remember.” Your voice was broken when you said those words out loud to all of them. It was more broken then when you had said it to Cassian and Azriel. You watched Feyre and Rhysand exchange silent looks with each other. Almost like they’d been having another conversation with each other.
“Do you mind if I take a look inside your mind?” Rhysand asked. You tilted your head.
“How? Why?” You asked, taking a step back from him. Cassian and Azriel were still near you but not close enough.
“To see if I can salvage any of your memories perhaps.”
“It won’t hurt?” You were afraid to learn what memories had been missing.
“It depends on what memory I can find and how good or bad it was.”
You looked back at Azriel and Cassian, already feeling attached to the two males. They’d been there after you had crashed landed through a roof, you trusted them. You knew when they both nodded their heads that you could trust everyone else in this room.
“Okay.” With your permission Rhysand entered your mind searching for something until he finally did find it.
“Mama, papa please, please don’t do this.” You cried out, tears stained your cheeks as you tried to pull away from your father’s strong grip. They didn’t want you anymore and it hurt. You were far too dangerous for a child so they had no choice but to give you up.
“Koschei is going to take better care of you then we ever could, my darling.” Your father spoke, sadness running through his voice.
“It’s for your own good, Y/N.” Your mother’s voice was cold. You knew why. She’d hated you ever since you were born. You scared her with the type of power you had. No one in the village was safe. Having the ability to absorb and use one’s power was not only dangerous to the other fae but dangerous to you as well. It could kill you if in the wrong hands. Yet they were sending you to a Death-god.
“I don’t want to be with Koschei. Please, he’s going to hurt me. I don’t like him.” Your sobs grew louder the closer you got to the border of your village in the Spring Court.
You knew Koschei himself wasn’t picking you up as he couldn’t leave his home. But you still feared what would happen when you were on that lake with him.
“It’s not in our hands anymore.”
Rhys pulled out of the memory, you collapsed to the ground. Tears rolling down your face. Cassian and Azriel tried to move towards you however another male made it over to you before you had a chance.
“My name is Y/N, and my parents gave me up to Koschei.” You whispered, a sob leaving your lips. You looked up to see a mixed reaction of confusion and distant faces. “Do you know who Koschei is?” You proceeded to ask.
“He’s a Death-god. He’s been trying to leave his lake for a very long time. And with you by his side he probably could.” Rhysand explained.
“Then how did I end up here?”
“That’s something we need to figure out.” Feyre said, blue-green eyes on you.
“Would you be willing to do more sessions like that where I or Feyre see if we can pull more memories out?”
“Please.” It was a broken cry but you needed to know who you were and what you could truly do.
“We’ll figure this out. In the meantime no one is to touch you. Y/N has the ability to absorb other powers. Which could be catastrophic if it’s not controlled or trained properly. Hence the shadows.”
You understood what that meant, that no one with powers could come near you. At least for now, you looked at the male that stood in front of you. He hadn’t touched you yet but you felt at ease with him so close. You wanted to know why that was the case, and you were determined to figure that out just like you were determined to get your memories back.

Broken | Azriel
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUMMARY: You thought Eris would be your mate, he felt like home. But that was just an illusion of what your heart wanted. Azriel, he was your home, your mate, your everything. He showed you how to heal after feeling so broken.
PAIRINGS: Azriel x Kallias!Sister Reader (Past Eris Vanserra x Kallias!Sister Reader)
CONTENT WARNINGS: NSFW, 18+ MDNI, smut with a plot, oral (m & f receiving), fingering, unprotected p in v, mentions of abuse (eris is sort of a villain in this), nightmares, angst, fluff, a happy ending.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This one-shot is based around Broken by Isak Danielson. It's recommended to listen to this song while reading at least the beginning. It's been a while since writing smut, so I don't know how I feel about this. I hope you enjoy it regardless. I love writing for Azriel.
WORD COUNT: 4.6K
Tumblr media
You loved Eris Vanserra more than words could describe. He was everything you needed in a partner. He helped you at your worst and you did the same for him. You had left your home court in the Winter Court. Your brother Kallias was against it, fearing what might happen to you at the hands of Beron. But Eris assured him (even if Kallis didn’t believe or trust him) that you’d be safe and under his protection.
You also told your brother that you’d be able to protect yourself having also been gifted with ice manipulation like him. He gave you the go ahead so long as you kept in touch and saw him whenever you could get a chance. You agreed. You only wished that you had listened to the nagging feeling in the back of your mind that screamed danger.
During that time you feel more deeply in love with Eris, you truly couldn’t imagine a life without him and prayed to the Cauldron that he was your mate. But everyday there was no lingering feeling that he was anything more than a lover that would eventually leave you in the dust for someone else, someone better. His mate, whomever they might be.
As you progressed further into the ways of the Autumn Court, the dynamics started to change. Beron berated you every chance he got, and that included how you used your power in a place where it wasn’t welcome. When Eris wouldn’t stand up for you to his father you understood that maybe he really didn’t feel the way you felt about him.
Maybe there truly was no love between you two and he was just putting on a show. Then it hit you, he was using you for an alliance with your brother. And while it stung to be used like that you were still stuck by Eris’ side, holding out on hope that maybe just maybe he’d change his ways. Lucien Vanserra was the first real friend you made in a long time.
He was your platonic soulmate and you were his. Neither of you could be separated from each other unless the other was rushed with threats of injury. A few years after you had become friends with the younger Vanserra son, you met Azriel when he had been spying on the Court. He showed up on your land, by a house that Eris had built for the two of you but mostly for you.
Your first reaction upon seeing him was to shoot ice his way. When the first shadow touched your skin, ignoring his master. You were shocked to say the least, no words could be uttered out of your mouth. Then a few more came towards you, swimming around your body like you were made for them. Azriel was struck hard with the gold string tying around his heart and tying to you. A stranger.
But when he heard the giggles leave your lips, he knew that he would never want to leave. He was hooked on the sounds that left your lips. His world was struck upside down when you told him that you lived here with Eris, someone you hoped would be your husband one day. At that moment he realized two things, two things that hurt him deeply. The first being that the bond hadn’t snapped for you. The second being that you were happy and in love with someone else.
Someone that wasn’t him, he vowed from that day forward to only be a friend to you. He didn’t want to step in the way of your happiness with the heir to the Autumn throne. Azriel however didn’t realize just how much that would bite him in the ass later on. As the years went on you started to drift away from Eris as he did the same thing. The arguments had gotten worse.
Books, paper, anything that could be picked up by hands was always thrown around but it never hit you and you never let him get hit by your destruction. But things blurred when your powers as well as his got involved. You both had injured each other badly. You left a frozen trail along his body, while he left scorch marks across yours. Though you were worse for tare. With barely any love left to give to you, he discarded you like a pile of dirt.
Your burnt body was dropped off at the Night Court. Lucien had insisted that you’d be taken care of there though Eris didn’t care much of what happened to you. Cassian had been the one to find you unconscious in the Hewn City, merely by pure luck. Had he not made a stop there to check on everything at hand so he could report back to his High Lord. When he came across your body he had remembered the way Az had talked about you.
But as he looked down at your body he knew you were not the same female that Azriel had been talking about. Picking you up bridal style he had flown you to his home. He had called Rhysand explaining what had happened and who he had in his arms. Though at the time he didn’t know you were in fact the Princess of the Winter Court. Azriel was there when Cassian arrived. You were still unconscious but you could feel something tugging in your chest, something that allowed you to hold on.
Azriel had been by your side through your recovery. He had watched Rhysand name you as his emissary for the Night Court. He was there when the nightmares of Eris killing you in cold blood consumed your mind, consumed your sleep. He was there to help you get over the brute of the male. Azriel was by your side when he had learned that you were the princess of the Winter Court. Once again he was by your side when you told your brother that you had found a new home in the Night Court.
It was a place far better than the Autumn, a place you never wished to go back to. Then everything changed, and just when you thought you were finally starting to move on from Eris, you had begged Rhys to let you go with him to Amarantha’s party. If you’d known the risks, you never would’ve asked him to allow you to travel with him. Over the span of 49 years you were trapped Under the Mountain.
Beron and Eris made your life a living hell, something you couldn’t escape. Amarantha was worse, the female did not like you in the least. She forced you to sleep around with any of the males that needed a release. At first you struggled, you were lucky enough to have Rhysand there as well as access to your brother. But it didn’t help as much as you thought it would.
By the end of Amarantha’s reign of terror you were broken again. Rhys winnowed the two of you back to Velaris, his own truth escaping his lips while you wrapped your hands around your body and refused to let anyone touch you. The only touch you had truly accepted had been Azriel’s shadows. The next few months were spent healing yourself again. Moving on from everything that happened in the Mountain, including the things Eris had managed to slip in.
When Feyre came around she was just as broken as you if not more broken. You were a ghost just like her, and it was clear that Rhysand was not only worried about her but he was worried about you too. Azriel however was the first you allowed to help. A particular nightmare of Eris hurting you had woken you up. Had caused you to run to the bathroom to expel what little food you had eaten the day before. Azriel was there in the bathroom rubbing your back softly.
“It’s ok, sweetheart.” His voice was soft, but his touch terrified you. However you were too lost in your own mind to even say something to him. When you were done you laid down on the floor and cried. For the first time in a very long time you let everything you were feeling out.
“I feel so broken.” You whispered through the cries that left your throat.
Azriel shook his head, then he lied down next to you. His hazel eyes stared straight at your tear stained eyes. “You are a lot stronger than you think, Y/N. You just have to find a way out of what’s broken you and become a better version of yourself.” Azriel said, reaching his pinky finger out to grab a hold of your pinky.
“What if I can’t move past it?”
“You can. I know you can.”
Those words were enough encouragement to get through everything that had happened. To grow with what has happened to you and to not let it weigh you down. You were finally making progress, healing yourself from everything Eris had done, from what had happened Under the Mountain. You were not as broken as you once had been. It crashed down when war rose on the horizon. Hybern was going to destroy everything.
When Azriel had been hurt in the war something changed inside you. It hadn’t quite been the snap of the bond that connected your soul to his but it had been a start. You were by his side when he was injured. But you didn’t get close enough to touch him. His shadows moved around his body, one near you. One shadow was always near you and you didn’t understand why. Everything that had happened between you and Azriel never made sense until it finally did.
After defeating Hybern you had struggled with the things you’d seen on the battlefield, including Cassian’s injuries and watching Feyre cry out for her mate. You don’t know why you did it but your eyes found Azriel. A gasp left your mouth as the High Lords had brought Rhys back. Tears fell from your eyes and you lifted your hand to your chest as the gold thread tied you to the shadowsinger. In the aftermath of everything that happened you stood in your tent. Lucien walked in, glancing at you. He noticed that you were on your bed and hadn’t moved at all since coming back.
“Are you ok?” He asked, kneeling down in front of you.
“Azriel. He’s my mate.” Saying the words out loud made it more real. You needed to talk to Azriel, you needed to understand why he’d spend all this time with you but never told you about the bond.
“Would you like me to find him?” You stared down at Lucien, smiling softly at the male and his kindness. No matter what had happened between you and him it had never come between your friendship.
“Please.” It was a broken whisper that left your mouth as you continued to stare at him.
“Of course, I’ll be right back.” You watched silently as Lucien stood from the mud and walked out of your tent to find your mate. Seconds seemed to pass and suddenly Azriel was standing in your tent with Lucien right behind him. You didn’t look at Azriel, your eyes stayed on Lucien. He gave a nod and walked back out of the tent allowing you your privacy with Azriel.
“Lucien said you needed me? Are you ok?” He asked, there was a seriousness in his voice.
“I’m fine.” However you paused and lowered your head. “Well, no, actually I’m not.”
He was in front of you before you had a chance to react, he was so close. His scarred hands reached out to grab yours hesitantly. You reacted by pulling yours away from him. Not because you didn’t want to feel his touch but right now you needed the truth.
“What’s wrong?” He said harshly, as a cold look fell onto his face. He was quick to hide the hurt that had washed across his face.
“How-” You stopped yourself to catch the tears that were threatening to fall down your face. Finally you took a inhale and exhaled. “How long have you known I was your mate?” Shock crossed his face as he looked at you.
“Y-You know?” That was further proof that he had known for a long time.
“It snapped for me when Rhys was resurrected. I looked at you, and I felt that thread. You knew, you knew that I had been looking for a mate and all this time it was you.” You stood up and he stood up with you. You moved closer to him and poked his chest. “You didn’t tell me. Why didn’t you tell me? How long have you known? Please, I need to know.”
Azriel released a sigh, he moved to your bed and sat down. Briefly running his hands through his black hair. You loved everything about him, and now that you knew he was your mate you were so excited, but you had to contain yourself until he explained everything. Finally he started speaking.
“Do you remember when I was spying on the Autumn Court and I had accidently found your cabin?” Azriel asked, as his hazel eyes found yours. You nodded, walking around the room and picking up some bread that you hadn’t eaten yet.
“I do. I remember it like it was yesterday.” You smiled, sitting down next to him. Even then, even before you knew he was your mate you always felt a tug towards him. It was different from what you’d felt at the time for Eris. But you chose to ignore it, so afraid of what might come from it.
“I landed on your porch and you opened the door, because you thought it was the princeling. My shadows, they wouldn’t listen to me when I told them not to touch you. But they did, and I was holding my breath because I was afraid that you wouldn’t like them.” He paused, just as one of his shadows moved to wrap around your leg. “But then you laughed, and suddenly I wanted to hear it every day, I wanted to hear the giggles that came from your mouth every day. And the bond snapped. I felt it in my chest, I felt it tie me to a stranger, someone I didn’t know anything about.”
He paused again, “I’m sensing a but.” You commented, causing him to chuckle and nod.
“There were two things I was certain of before I left. One: that you didn’t feel the bond, two: that you were happy and in love with someone else and I couldn’t ruin that. I didn’t want to ruin your happiness. But then Eris left you at our court and I wanted to kill him for what he’d done to you. Rhys, and Cass had to talk me out of it and they did. I couldn’t tell you then because you were healing yourself. So I was there for you as a friend, I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want to force you on it especially when you were still dealing with what happened between you and Eris.”
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry you had to go through that, that you had to see me be happy with another male. I’m sorry.” Azriel shifted on the makeshift bed, he brought his hands to your face and stared at you.
“No, you don’t need to apologize for this. I would go through this over and over if it was the same outcome. I wouldn’t change any of it.” His words were nothing more than a whisper. You smiled and gave him a nod. You knew what you wanted to do.
“I’ll be right back.” You said, placing a kiss on his cheek.
You stood from the bed and left the Illyrian male confused in your tent. There was some food nearby, under another tent. You felt eyes on you as you walked towards it to grab some bread. When you looked up you saw your friends staring at you. They all had bright smiles plastered to their faces, knowing very well what you were about to go do.
In truth you knew you should probably wait, but the reality of what could happen tomorrow, or the next day, or years from now was more of a reason to give him the bread. You knew the moment that Azriel had stuck around to help you through your darkest moments that you loved him. There was no hesitation in this. Rhys walked up to you, he gave you a nod.
“I’d like to have a mating ceremony when we get back to Velaris.” You whispered.
“Consider it done.”
“Thank you.”
Rhys stepped away allowing you to head back in the direction you’d come from. When you entered the tent Azriel stood in the center of the tent staring at your hand. You couldn’t keep the smile that had graced your lips away.
“Are you sure about this?” He asked, stepping towards you.
“I’ve loved you for a long time, Az.” You heard him suck in a breath when you admitted that. “I was afraid to admit it to myself because for a long time I truly felt broken. I felt that I didn’t deserve your love and I tried to hide from that. But knowing what I know now, I can’t do that to myself anymore, nor you. When we get back home, we’ll have a mating ceremony in front of our friends. But for now, I think this privacy will work for me if it works for you.”
You felt the gold bond humming inside you as Azriel stepped towards you. “I don’t care where we are as long as I can make you mine.” He said, possessively.
“Then eat the bread.”
That was all he needed. Azriel snatched the bread from your hand and proceeded to take a bite from it. The bond was shining brighter. When he swallowed the bite of food he dropped the bread to the ground and placed his hands on your hips pulling you against him. His lips found purchase on yours. It was a rough kiss but you didn’t mind it. Azriel slowly started to walk you back towards the makeshift bed.
His fingers grasped your leathers and started to pull them off. You lifted your arms allowing your top half to be fully exposed to him. His hands gripped your breasts, while he left a trail of kisses down your throat. His lips wrapped around one of your nipples and he sucked it into his mouth between those lips. Azriel’s free hand found your other breast and squeezed it, tugging at the nipple. A moan escaped your lips, the shadowsinger smirked at you when he pulled back.
Gently he laid you down on the makeshift bed and proceeded to help you remove the rest of your leathers. He followed behind only removing his leathers from the top half. You groaned at the sight of his toned chest. Azriel hoovered above you, his lips connecting back to your mouth for another kiss. Then he pulled away, moving his lips down your body until he was close to your core. You lifted your head slightly, lust filled eyes staring straight at Azriel.
He stuck his tongue out, leaned closer and licked a strip from your entrance up to your clit before he sucked the bud into his mouth. A soft moan escaped your lips, your hands reached out grabbing a hold of Azriel’s locks. His scarred finger pushed into your entrance, while his tongue glided along your folds. He added another finger inside of you then curled those fingers hitting that sweet spot inside you.
Another moan left your lips, and your fingers tightened on his hair pulling at it. Your arousal coated his fingers when he pulled them out. Azriel quickly shoved them back in bringing you closer to your first orgasm.
“Your cunt is going to feel so good around my cock, sweetheart.” His voice rumbled over your pussy causing you to whimper at the words that left his mouth.
“Az.” You whisper-moaned. He only smirked hearing his name come out of your mouth. “So close.”
“Cum on my fingers, sweetheart.” He only smirked and quickened his pace.
His fingers moved quicker, and he sucked your clit back into his mouth. You were clenching around his fingers as your orgasm hit you, moan after moan leaving your mouth. You threw your head back feeling nothing but utter bliss as your orgasm crashed onto you. Azriel removed his fingers from your cunt and placed them in his mouth liking your juices clean off them.
Azriel leaned over you again and placed a kiss on your lips. You could taste yourself on him and it brought a smile to your face. The way you felt currently, you never felt with Eris. You sent your love and affection down the bond as you flipped Azriel so he was on his back. He stared up at you as you hovered over him.
“My turn.” You whispered breathlessly.
He smiled at you, watching as you wrapped your fingers around the waistband of his leathers and pulled the pants down. You watched with hungry eyes as his cock sprang free from the confines. He was big, but you were on a mission so you’d make him fit. Once his remaining clothes were off you gripped his cock in your hand. Azriel bucked his hips when you started to tug on his cock.
Sticking your tongue out you licked from his base all the way to the red angry tip at the top. Then you took the tip into your mouth, sucking on it gently at first. You heard Azriel moan as you pushed more of his cock into your mouth. You couldn’t fit all of him in so you gripped the rest with your hand. Pulling your mouth back you pulled just until the tip was barely in your mouth. Then you moved back down on his length.
Azriel reached his scarred hands forward, grasping a hold of your hair and holding it up away from your face so he could watch you take his cock into your mouth. You quickened your pace while your free hand moved down to cup his balls. A dark groan came from his lips, he threw his head back feeling closer to his impending orgasm. But he didn’t want to cum in your mouth. Azriel pulled you off his cock, and you looked at him with a sad look.
“As much as I want to cum in your mouth I rather cum in that pretty pussy of yours mate.” He said, pulling you on top of him. You could only smile at him. You grabbed a hold of Azriel’s cock again and rubbed it against your clit, eliciting a moan from the both of you. Finally you pulled his cock to your entrance and slowly you started to push it inside you. “So fucking tight.” He groaned out.
You sat there for a few moments, watching Azriel’s shadows moving around his body and then moving over to yours. A soft moan came from your lips when they touched you. You rested your hands down on his chest while Azriel rested his hands on your hips. He bucked up inside you causing you both to moan again.
Finally you started to move your hips, pulling up till just the tip of his cock was still inside. Then you moved back down the full length of him moving inside of you. Happy, you were so happy. Azriel could see it in your eyes. He took the opportunity and flipped you both back over so he was once again on top of you. His hips started to slam into you, his cock brushing that sweet spot.
Another moan escaped your lips and you reached for Azriel pulling his body closer to yours. Your lips found purchase on his and you kissed him almost like your life depended on it. Like you’d wake up tomorrow and this would be all gone.
“Don’t leave me.” You whispered, trying to move past the tears that wanted to escape in this moment.
“I won’t. I will never ever leave you again.” He said it with another snap of his hips. You clenched around him, feeling another orgasm on its approach. “Cum for me.” He whispered. His shadows continued to swirl around your body.
“Cum with me.” You whispered, staring up at Azriel. He looked back down at you.
Your orgasm hit first blinding pleasure covering your entire body, but Azriel’s followed quickly behind you. You could feel him painting your insides with his release. Azriel rested his forehead against yours, continuing to move inside you until your body calmed down from the orgasm. You sighed and smiled at him.
Azriel removed himself and lied down on the makeshift bed. He pulled you on his chest, your head resting in the crook of his neck while his wings and shadows wrapped around the two of you. This was utter bliss to be here at this moment. Azriel pulled the blanket over the two of you while you trailed the tattooed ink in his biceps.
“So what now?” You asked, though you knew what would happen.
“You're mine now. I’m not ever letting you go.” Azriel whispered back.
“Is that a promise?” You’d asked, knowing very well what you were tricking him into.
“Yes it is.” And just like that a bargain marked your body as well as his. Shadows mixed with ice tangled on your collarbone, when you leaned up you could see it on Azriel’s collarbone as well.
“Y/N, your brother is looking for you.” Feyre said, walking into your tent. She stopped in her tracks when she smelled your scent mixed with Azriel’s. “Oh, I’m sorry.” She whispered quickly, turning around but not leaving.
“Can he wait?” You asked, not really wanting to leave the arms of your mate.
“No, he wants to say goodbye before he and Viviane head back to home.” Feyre answered.
“All right, we’ll be out shortly.” You said.
“So, did Az finally tell you that you were mates?” Feyre asked.
“She knew?” You looked at Azriel who a serious look on his face.
“I didn’t know she knew, I guess Rhys probably told her.” Azriel answered.
“He didn’t need to. I figured it out when I saw the two of you interact with each other.”
“Gods, does everyone else know?” You couldn’t hide the smile that was on your face. You really didn’t care if they’d known before you. In the end you’d made the right decision to leave Eris behind because it led you to your mate, it led you to your forever.
“I think so.” Feyre said leaving before you could ask her any more questions.
You rolled your eyes. “I bet that Kallias and Viviane already knew too.”
“I guess you’ll have to ask them.” Azriel smirked and rolled on top of you staring down into your eyes. “I love you, and I’m going to spend forever making sure you know just how much I love you.”
“I love you too.” You paused, staring at his hazel eyes. “I wouldn’t expect anything less than that. Forever with you sounds nice. It’s a fresh start for me and I couldn’t be more thrilled than to have this fresh start with you by my side, mate.”
“Good.” He kissed you again, but Feyre once again interrupted the moment leaving you to laugh at the angry washing onto Azriel’s face. He had gone from a stranger to the male that helped to make you feel a little less broken in this world, and now he was your mate. That was a promise, a promise that you didn’t want to ever break. You knew it was the happy ending you both deserved.

You were trapped Under the Mountain with your husband. He needed a partner, you needed a reason to leave your family behind in the Court of Nightmares. He was that escape for you, and you were that savior for him. It was only ever a marriage based upon a deal. But over the years you’d both fallen in love with each other. That’s what you had told yourself anyway. You knew that he told himself that too. Rhysand wasn’t Azriel… he wasn’t your mate.
Just before you and Rhysand had left for the party, you had felt the bond snap between you and Azriel. Though you hadn’t been sure if he had felt it. You’d never got the chance to ask anyway. You and Rhys were trapped Under the Mountain for 49 years, with no way for you to feel the bond between you and Azriel. It truly broke something inside you and you had felt it. You knew how you had gotten to this moment in time.
A human had saved you all, but you had suffered choosing to protect her from the wrath of Amarantha. She didn’t take too kindly to that. You were separated from the others not even knowing what had happened with the trials. You lied on the cold floor under the mountain still. Blood was leaking from your body, from the deep cuts that littered your body.
“A punishment for intervening with the human.” She’d said to you before they had dragged you away from Rhys. Panic had run through your body but it truly wasn’t enough to save you. The sobs had long since stopped coming out of your mouth. You felt so hollow lying there on the floor. The cold air rushed against the open cuts on your back. After the guards had left your room you’d heard commotion.
But you made no move to get up off the floor, too much pain ran through your body to allow you to pick yourself up from the floor. You felt calloused hands touch the side of your arm. Slowly you opened your eyes and looked up to see your husband staring back at you. A sad expression crossed Rhysand’s face as he kneeled down to look at you.
“My love.” He whispered, tears threatening to escape from his eyes.
“I don’t want you to see me like this.” You said softly, closing your eyes and pulling your head away from Rhys.
“I need to get you home.” Your eyes opened up and you stared up at him.
“What are you talking about?”
“She’s dead, we’re free. I need to get you to Madja.” You felt shock course through your body.
You would finally be heading home to your mate, seeing him for the first time in 49 years. “How?” It was a simple question and all you could get out.
“Feyre, she saved us all.” When your eyes found Rhysand’s violet eyes, you saw that look. You knew all too well what that look meant.
“She’s your mate isn’t she?” You asked. Rhys only nodded. “Az…” You paused, watching Rhys stare at you with a raised brow. But he seemed to understand what you were trying to say.
“You’ll see him soon enough.” Rhys gripped your hand and the two of you winnowed back to your home.
Darkness is the only thing you saw before you woke up. The pain to your back was unbearable and you ended up passing out in Rhys arms. Azriel sat in the bed holding onto your hand, you rested on your stomach and the wounds on your back were starting to heal. He still wasn’t processing the fact that his brother and his mate were back home. It was so unreal to him. His shadows gilded around your body, careful to not touch your back.
They were beyond happy to have you back. You were home. Azriel wasn’t going to let anything happen to you, not ever again. He looked up when he saw Rhys standing at the door, he gave a small nod and adjusted his wings, pulling them in tightly as he stepped off the bed and walked over to Rhys.
“How’s Y/N?” Rhys asked, violet eyes on his wife. Though he knew that there might be a divorce in the future. You and Rhys would want different things now. He knew it even if you weren’t awake to express that. Rhys still cared for you deeply and would still allow you a home. Besides he knew that Azriel would kick his ass if he let you go back to the Court of Nightmares.
“Holding on.” Azriel kept his hazel eyes on you not wanting to look away for a second. He was so afraid that he’d lose you again. Not being able to hold you, comfort you, be there for you when you were struggling it was killing him.
“You know she doesn’t blame you for what happened to us.” Rhys said, picking up on what he was thinking just by the way he’d been staring at you.
“I should’ve gone with the both of you to the damned party.” Azriel’s tone was clipped, his jaw tight. He crossed his hands over his chest while his shadows moved around his body. Only a few remained near you.
“I gave you an order to stay here. Y/N, told you to listen to it. We didn’t need you there, we needed you here with everyone else to watch over Velaris. Y/N had told me that Amarantha might try to do something, she had told me that it was best that we go and make sure you all stay back here.”
“How did she know?” Azriel placed his hazel eyes on his brother.
“I don’t know, gut feeling I suppose. I’ve been wanting to see if Y/N might have some type of power.”
“Could that be possible?”
“It could be. We found out that she’s Hybern’s child. Amarantha told us. Apparently her mother escaped to the Court of Nightmares but gave her up before disappearing. No one had seen or heard from her that Y/N was left with that despicable family.”
“If you two get a divorce will she be sent back to the Court of Nightmares?” Rhys could hear the panic and worry in his brother’s voice. Finally Rhys turned to place his full on Azriel.
“We will get a divorce because I’m not you, she wants to be with you and to be honest she’s not Feyre. We had discussed this when we got married in the beginning. That should one or both of us find our mate and we want to accept it the other would allow a divorce. I’m letting her go, I still care for her deeply but she is not mine to love, not anymore.”
“You didn’t answer my question.” Azriel said sternly.
“I won’t send her back, Az. You should already know that. Y/N is your mate and your hers. She’s also a valued member of the Inner Circle. I do not plan on tossing her aside because I’ve found myself. I made a bargain to keep her protected from that family and I will continue to do that.” Rhys paused, he placed his violet eyes on you. You had heard the last stretch of their conversation. Rhys had told Azriel that you belonged to Hybern, that you were his offspring and yet he was still here. “I’ll leave you two alone.”
Rhys disappeared before Azriel could say anything further. You adjusted your body slightly to get more comfortable on the bed. Azriel was quick to move to your bed. You felt a few of his shadows swarm your body, they were being mindful of the cuts.
“Can you help me up?” You asked, as you were eager to get out of the bed and walk around. Azriel only nodded, he was silent and you started to think it was because of who your true father was. Azriel held onto your hands as he helped you walk around your room.
“How are you feeling?” He asked softly, his gaze on you. You had to look up at him, he was so much taller than you were.
“I’m fine.” You replied, it was a lie though. You were in a nightmare of your own making. Things were happening, you could feel it. Something was happening, a war was coming and you didn’t know how to tell them.
Three weeks had passed, Rhysand, Azriel and Madja thought that they were getting better. And you were getting better, at least your back was. But you were declinding, your mind wasn’t the way it was before Amarantha had happened. And with all the trauma you’d received at the hands of your adoptive mother and adoptive father, followed by Amarantha. It was a struggle for you.
Cassian sat in your room with you, the door was open and the windows were open too. A breeze flew in while a shadow hovered around you. Azriel was out on a mission, he didn’t want to go by Rhys needed him to go on this mission so he’d ask Cass to sit with you and watch over you while he was gone. You laid on your bed, not facing the light coming from the sun outside. It was too bright in here for your liking.
You pulled the covers over your head ignoring Cassian when you knew he was staring at you. It pained him to see you like this. To see you suffering in silence and not sharing it with anyone. You hadn’t even talked to Rhys and Az about what was bothering you. But the truth was simple, you didn’t know how to tell them, to talk about the things that Amarantha forced you to do. It was far worse than the punishment you’d gotten for trying to intervene to save Feyre.
She’d discovered your powers, knew what you could do. And she used that to her advantage. Every time she manipulated you, made you believe that she’d find your mate and you’d watch him die. That’s when you learned from Amarantha that you were able to sense bad things. You knew that you could sense good things, but the majority of the time it was a handful of bad things that followed you around. You weren’t a seer.
That much was clear, while you could predict things before they could happen you couldn’t see them. Only feel them with every inch of your body, mind, and soul. You had yet to explain this to Rhysand. You knew he was itching to know what abilities you had. He was trying to see if you’d be a threat to him. You felt the room get darker, and suddenly you could hear voices all around you. One voice belonged to Cassian, the other belonged to your now ex-husband.
The divorce was quick and easy. You hadn’t been ready to accept the mating bond yet and Azriel was okay with that, he was okay with waiting even though that’s not what he felt on the inside. The sheets were ripped from your body and you groaned reaching for a pillow to pull over your head.
“No, you’ve been moping around for three weeks Y/N. You need to get up out of this bed now, and we need to discuss your powers.” His voice boomed around in your room, the pillow was then yanked from your hands. Your hair was wild and you were now glaring at the High Lord.
“Why? So you can throw me out the second I seem like I’m going to be a threat to your court.” You tried to hold yourself together, you stood on your bed on your knees glaring at Rhys, and Cassian who was still in the room. His face seemed to soften at the confession that left your lips.
“I will never throw you out of my court, you may not be my wife anymore. But you are and always will be one of my best friends. I made a promise to keep you safe and no matter what I will keep that. But this moping around needs to stop, you’re hurting Azriel.”
You were hurt, those words “you’re hurting Azriel,” they swarmed your mind. The words seemed to send you into a panic, you collapsed to the bed. Your eyes were staring up at the ceiling. Rhy's eyes came into view but you couldn’t move. It was happening again and you knew it. This is what Amarantha said you’d do when they started. You’d go deathly still as fragments of images and words appeared in your mind.
You’d always done your best to hide this from your family (well adoptive family), but when they saw it they knew it was grounds for punishment. And everytime it happened afterward you’d be sent to your room where you’d be locked in there for a week sometimes longer. When you made it to Velaris you’d gotten good at hiding it so they didn’t know about your power. Because you and Rhys didn’t sleep with each other or in the same room he never saw it.
It wasn’t until Amarantha that things got worse. She’d managed to unlock something inside you and turn this into a far more powerful being. You refused to call yourself a seer because you couldn’t see full on visions. When you finally got your vision back you saw Rhys and now Cass. They were both staring down at you worry etched across both their faces.
“What was that, Y/N?” Rhys questioned, as he and Cass lifted you up into a sitting position.
“I don’t remember much about my mother aside from the constant visions she had. They weren’t visions though, more like clipped images and words. And you know Hybern is my father, then that tells you all you need to know about who I’m supposed to be.” You said, pushing your hand up to your forehead to rub the pain away.
“And who are you supposed to be?” This time a new voice entered the conversation. You looked up to see your mate staring at you. A few of his shadows gathered around the other shadow that had stayed with you while Azriel was out on his mission. You stood from the bed and ran over to your mate collapsing into his chest as he wrapped his arms around your waist and his shadows swarmed the two of you.
“My mother gave me up for one reason only. I didn’t understand why and it never made sense, not until Amarantha told me. She was told to hand me over to my father if she ever caught me but she went against his order because she wanted me for herself. She used to tell me that I’d be a very powerful seer one day. I guess because I could see images and words that it would one day be useful especially if I fell into the full ability of my power.”
“So what does that mean then?” Cassian proceeded to question.
“In the wrong hands I could one day help destroy the world.”

AUTHOR'S NOTE: So I ended up turning this into a few parts. There are a few points I want to touch and I don't think it would've been a good idea to do one whole part. If you wish to be added to the tag list for this please let me know down in the comments. The sumary will most likely stay the same I'm not sure yet.

It felt like forever. The torture you faced under your bother’s ruleing. It wasn’t protection as he liked to call it. It was a prison, Tamlin had taken over after your father had been killed. You hadn’t been able to shed a tear when it happened, you always assumed that you weren’t meant to be in the Spring Court. When Feyre arrived as a human, you knew she was your chance for an escape.
So when she took the opportune moment to leave, you followed right behind her. Currently you didn’t understand how you had found yourself in this situation. You, Feyre, and Lucien had been on the run from the Spring Court. Little cuts littered your chest, arms, neck, and face. It was so cold, you didn’t know if you could hold on any longer. One of Lucien’s brothers was on top of you, holding you against the ice.
He lifts your head up and slams it down into the ice hard. Stars are dancing around your eyes, as you struggle to keep the blade from going into your throat. Your hand was on the blade, blood dripping onto your neck. A whimper escaped your lips as he stared down at you with a malevolent smile.
“You make such pretty sounds, I wonder what else I could get out of you.” He whispered, his tongue licking up the side of your chin all the way to your pointed ear.
You tried to push the male of you but it was no use. He was far stronger than you, and right now you were too weak. You couldn’t access your power considering you were drained. There were plants all around you even in the Winter Court but that was the last thing on your mind. It also didn’t help that you had never learned to fight. Tamlin had thought it was best you learn how to be a housemaid, how to be a mother, how to take care of your future husband.
Whatever the case may be you learned everything except how to fight and how to use your powers in a situation like this, it was biting you in the ass. Where Tamlin could shape-shift, you could manipulate the plants around you. But your brother didn’t know that, you knew better than to tell him your secret. Just before he could do further damage to you another male flew into him knocking him to the ice.
You turned to your side, a wince leaving your lips as you watched that same male throw a punch into his face. He continued to do so, he hadn’t been able to stop until someone had pulled him off Lucien’s brother. He wasn’t dead, you knew that he was knocked out cold. Your breath was shallow, as the male turned towards you red siphons glistening in the darkness of the night. He was leaning over you, hazel eyes searching you.
He gently picked you up, resting your head to his chest while he cradled the rest of your body. You stared up at him, when he looked back down at you, it snapped. Just before you closed your eyes you felt the gold thread tied around your heart. The mating bond had snapped, you were tied to the male that had just saved you. Now that you were safe you could close your eyes and that’s exactly what you did.
Rhysand stood next to his brother as Madja worked on you. Cassian had his arms crossed over his chest, he was leaning against the door. The male was trying his hardest not to hover over Madja while she worked on his mate. But it was excruciating not to be next to you to hold your hand while she healed you.
“Are you positive?” Rhysand asked again, finally looking over at his brother. Feyre was at the end of the hallway, with Azriel as well. Lucien was also there but Cassian didn’t care much for him, his brother was responsible for the injuries to his mate. He wanted to kill him so they were standing guard in front of Lucien.
“Yes. The Princess of the Spring Court is my mate. I know she felt it too.” Cassian explained again, saying the same thing he’d consistently said when they had arrived back home. Cassian paused, staring briefly at his brother. “Do you really think she has powers?”
“Feyre believed it, and I know what I saw when we were under the mountain. Tamlin didn’t see it but Amarantha did. She protected herself in a cocoon of vines. Whatever she can do, she’s more powerful than she believes herself to be.”
Cassian had heard mentions of the story about how you’d protected yourself to avoid the affliction of pain at the wrath of Amarantha. She loved your older brother, but she hated you. So she’d made your torture just as cruel and wicked as Feyre had gone through. She even locked you up with Feyre, keeping you distanced from the only family you’d ever known. Tamlin. Lucien.
Rhys had told Cass that he had done everything in his power to keep you safe. But when that happened, everything changed. He knew eventually you’d be in his court. Tamlin would destroy you, and it looks like he’d already done just that. Finally Rhys looked back at Cassian again.
“We need to keep her safe.”
“She’s my mate, I won’t let her go back to that bastard of a brother. She’s safe here.” Cassian stated calmly. He caught Rhys looking down the hall to Feyre who gave a nod.
“Then you both need to accept the bond officially, Tamlin will demand her back. And if it isn’t accepted we have no choice but to hand her back over.”
“I’ll discuss it with her when she’s awake. Until then I can’t do much.”
Rhys gave a nod of his head as Madja walked up to them. “She is healed, though she might be out for a few days. Everything was drained, powers included. She needs time to rest.” Madja explained.
“Thank you.” Cassian said, stepping past the healer and walking into the room. He grabbed a chair and set it next to your bed. Then he reached for your hand, holding it in his. Cassian would wait days for you to wake up, as long as you came back to him.
You held onto that thread when you thought you might die. Slowly you blinked open your eyes, a groan escaped your lips. You looked around the room noticing that you weren’t in the Spring Court. Then the memories of what had happened came flashing back into your mind. Panic started to rush through your body, however a hand gave you a comforting squeeze. You turned your head to see the male that had saved you holding onto it.
Just like you remembered he had red siphons on his body. Seven of them to be exact. His black hair was shoulder length, some of it was tied back in a small bun. He looked sexy with his hair that way. A smirk covered his lips, he must have seen what you were thinking was plastered on your face. His golden-brown skin made him look just as handsome. You could see some tattoos peaking through his shirt.
It was a gray shirt and was fitted perfectly to his upper body. You wondered what everything looked like underneath his clothes. Your mind started to drift, thinking of what he’d feel like against you, naked. His pulling of the chair brought you out of your thoughts, you decided to pull yourself up slightly so you could lean against the headboard. You felt the golden string that connected you to him. It was such a pain to not be closer to him. You needed him closer.
“Can you hold me?” Your voice was soft as you asked the question. He stared at you, the confusion was there only for a moment before it switched to understanding. You watched as the male stood from the chair, removed his boats and climbed into your bed. He leaned you forward gently, sitting behind you.
When he settled down into the bed, he pulled you towards his chest. You had noticed that somewhere in between him joining you on the bed he'd taken off his shirt so you could feel his warmth. You rested your head back on his chest, and closed your eyes feeling the bond shine brightly at the touch.
“I’m Cassian.” He whispered in your ear after a few moments of silence.
“Y/N.” You paused, pulling his large hand into yours and entangling your fingers together. You didn’t understand how you’d gotten so lucky to be blessed with a mate provided by the Mother. “So you really are my mate?”
You questioned finally. Maybe this was all a dream, and you’d wake back up in the Spring Court. You didn’t want that though, you’d known you had finally gotten away from your brother's temper and you couldn’t go back to it. Things had gotten worse for you when you’d all returned from under the mountain.
“I am.” Cassian’s words were so comforting as he said them.
“I didn’t think I’d ever get a mate. I… Tam said I’d never experience this. That I’d be marrying off to someone who would never be my mate.” You felt your mate tighten his grip around your waist, his jealousy was evident but you didn’t mind it. Oddly enough it felt comforting, you’d been missing something like that for a long time.
Cassian clenched his jaw at the mere mention of what your brother had in store for you when the time was right. He nudged his nose into your hair. “I can assure you mate, that’ll never happen. I will not allow your brother to take you away from me.”
“But Tam, he’ll try to get me back. I am the princess of the Spring Court after all. He’ll try to call a meeting, to call for a battle against this court.” The worry was evident in your voice as you spoke the words that Rhys had mentioned a few days ago.
“If we accept the mating bond, your brother can not do anything about it. We can accept it then see a Priestess.”
You wanted to reject the idea of accepting the bond so quickly, but you knew that was a lie. Cassian was your mate, and you were his. This had to be done, and it had to happen now. A war loomed over your heads because of your brother. He’d chosen the wrong side and you wouldn’t stand by anymore. Not with what you could do.
“Let’s do it.” You spoke finally. “I need a day, and we need somewhere where it can be just the two of us. When we come back we’ll see a Priestess.”
“I have a place in mind for privacy.” Cassian said, a smirk on his lips. “I can give you a day as well. But after that you’re mine forever, princess.” You only gave a nod and closed your eyes leaning further into Cassian’s chest. It wasn’t until you were finally asleep, breathing evenly that Cassian called to Rhys in his mind.
“How is she?” It was the first question he had asked when the conversation started.
“She’s fine.” Cassian paused, he glanced down at his mate. “She wants to accept the bond.”
“Good. That’s excellent news brother. I think we could all use that right now.”
“We’re gonna head to the cabin for a few days, then we’ll see a Priestess when we come back.”
“Sounds like a plan. When you both come back we’ll discuss what to do in case Tamlin does try to do something. I want to help her learn her powers if she’ll let me.”
“I think she’d be more than willing to learn. I think it would be great to start training with her as well even if we don’t get far into it.”
“Good idea, brother. Both of you get some rest. I’ll let Feyre know she’s doing better.”
With those words Cassian felt his High Lord leave his mind. When Cassian looked back down at you he noticed that you were asleep. The fae lights in the room dimmed down allowing only the moonlight into the room. Cassian held onto you tightly as you slept on top of his form. This wasn’t the best of circumstances, how he found you. But he was so glad that he’d found you when you needed him most.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: As you can see I decided to redo my masterlist, so with it I will be redoing other stuff as well and that'll be all here on one post and tagged into my masterlist. This will inculde rules, how to request, and how to be apart of tags, as well as fandoms I'm apart of and characters I'm currently writing for or want to write for.
Tumblr media
RULES
Please be patient if you request a one-shot from me. Unless I don't want to write the request (which is a big if, and I'll most likely write it), I will try to get the request out as quick as I can. I update three days every other week (for right the time being) so it'll most likely be added to a schedule I have for updates.
I will not tolerate any kind of hate on my page. This is a safe place and I want it to stay like that especially when it comes to request. If you are rude in anyway shape or form, you will be blocked from my account.
This is and will be an 18+ account as I get further into my writing. So if you do not have your age in your bio you will be blocked. Please make sure that you read the ones only if they are safe to be read, and please keep an eye on the trigger warnings if there are any.
I do not give anyone permission to copy or translate any of my works. Likes and reblogs are very much appreciated.
I mostly write for character's that use she/her pronouns, however I try to keep the reader as gender neutral as I can unless it's an original character.
Most of my one-shots will not have a name used. However they might have certain nicknames depending on the love interest. If I give a name it'll be Y/N, and if it's an original character that'll be clear when posting the story.
If you are requesting, a form (which will be listed below) is optional when requesting depending on what you're resting. Just make sure to include a good amount of information when you request, because it'll be easier for me to further expand on the idea.
Lastly, any request is welcome, it can included fluff, angst, smut, or dark themes. Please keep in mind that there are certain themes that I don't know how to write so I will either try my best to write them or I won't write them at all.
REQUESTING
This is optional.

Hello, I wanted to come on here to let you know that updates will be every other week. That way it gives me time to prepare the next one-shot or chapter for the following week. I'm doing this because I will start to get busy at work and I'm trying to focus on my fantasy series and want to get the first rough draft finish by August. That being said down below will be a poll for ACOTAR, as that's really what I want to write for currently. The top 3 highest votes will be what I post next week!

My Love Will Never Die Masterlist
Tumblr media
Snow and ice crusted the earth below. But it didn’t matter to me, I stood tall in the snow covered trees. My dirty-blonde hair was pulled back and braided so it would be out of my way. I jumped from tree to tree, Feyre was always jealous of the fact that I had an easy time hiding in the trees. I had always felt this heavy weight on my back, and because of it I had learned to balance myself especially in trees.
They became my friends. Odd, I know, but totally worth it when we’d go out hunting. That’s what my cousin and I had been doing, hunting for food in this brisk winter. I could feel the cold running along my skin. I had been living with the Archeron sisters since shortly before they had to leave the luxurious home behind and move into a smaller home. I didn’t understand why my parents had dropped me off with my cousins, all I know is they’re hiding something from me. One day I’ll figure it out. But today I’m hunting in the woods.
Feyre and I had separated from each other hours ago. We’d hoped that by doing so we’d gain more distance to find something to eat. But so far I had no such luck, I was secretly hoping that Feyre had gained the luck today. Feyre and I had started to go out into the woods to hunt for food when we were fourteen. Her reasoning was a promise she’d made to her mother, mine was mostly because I didn’t like to be alone with Nesta and Elain when Feyre wasn’t there.
Our relationship was strained. Nesta hated me, I don’t know why. I guess she blames me for moving in, because soon after they could no longer afford anything. I’m not sure honestly, she doesn’t ever give me an answer whenever I question her, whenever I ask her the same question. She just lets it fuss out like it's nothing important and honestly I’ve given up trying to figure out why she hates me. Feyre and I are now nineteen, it’s crazy, I know but what more can I do in this life.
Most of the things I know how to do I managed to teach myself, reading is one of those things. I’m not as skilled in reading but I can get by somewhat. It’s not important right now anyway. I’ve tried to help Feyre but I don’t really know what I’m doing. Feyre has become my best friend, she’s more of a sister than a cousin. And I so badly wished to have had that sibling connection with her that Nesta and Elain have with her but seem to not care much about.
I shake my head, easily getting lost in my thoughts these days when I’m alone in the woods. I gripped the bark tightly, small scratches littered my palms. I tend to get my hands cut a lot when I’d climb up into the trees. Feyre always had something to say about it and I know she’ll most likely say something about it when she sees my hands. Sometimes I like to feel pain, and the only healthy way is to climb trees. I adjust myself trying to ignore the heavy weight on my back.
I knew at this point without having any luck it was time to call quits and head home. I was hoping that Feyre had already made it back to the small house. I lunge off the branch I was hanging out on, I grip onto the next branch holding it tightly as I swing back and forth. The slight pain in my hands is evident. Finally I’m able to let go of the branch and land on the icy ground. The ice crunches beneath my boot covered feet.
I pull my dagger from my holster, it’s not much but it’s kept me safe over the years since I’ve started hunting. I lower myself into a crouching position and release a breath. My breath mixes with the cold air causing it to turn into a mist. Just to be safe I always stay low to the ground to make sure I’m not caught as I walk back home to the house where Nesta, Elain and my Uncle are. All of whom probably aren’t doing anything.
An hour later I had given up on the crouching, but I’d made it home. The dagger is back in the sheath. I don’t need Nesta and Elain to know I have it. One day I’d found it near the border that separates us from the Faeries, it was calling to me. Odd. It was so odd that a dagger was calling my name. But I found it and since then it has been with me. Finally reaching the door I pushed it open and walked inside.
A soft grunt leaves my throat as I enter the house. The house had a small amount of warmth, I could feel it but it was barely there. Not that I mind, I preferred the cold anyway. At least that’s what I tell myself. My ocean blue eyes land on my Uncle and cousins all of whom are close to each other.
“Where’s Feyre?” Nesta questioned, not bothering to give me another glance.
“Like you care.” I mumbled the words as I removed my cloak from my body. It didn’t do much to keep me warm during the winter but it was better than nothing. “She’s probably still hunting, I didn;t have any luck but I’m hoping that Feyre found something.” I said that loud enough that all three could hear me. Nesta didn’t budge, nor did Elain. I walked past them making my way into our small shared room. Sometimes I wish I could sleep on the floor in the winter. I hate sharing a room with my cousins. Feyre not so much because she didn’t hate me.
I closed the door behind me once I was in the room. I needed to change into warmer, dry clothes. I tracked towards the dresser and kneeled down to stare at the painting Feyre had drawn on my drawer. I had the same recording dream, it was always blurry so I couldn’t make out much. But I got enough from the dream. I had asked Feyre one day to paint hazel and amber eyes, mixed with bat wings, shadows and flames. I could never really understand why I had seen those images so constantly in my dreams but I wanted to be able to see them no matter the time of day.
Feyre had even questioned me about it when she was painting it, but I just didn’t know how to answer it other than the fact that I had seen everything when I was asleep. I didn’t know who the eyes belonged to but I knew one day that I’d figure it out eventually. I knew whomever the eyes belonged to they would most likely be important to me. After pulling on a warm set of clothes I heard the front door open, followed by Feyre’s voice and shortly after Nesta’s voice.
“Where did you get that?” Nesta had asked, as I rejoined them. I glanced over at Feyre as she looked at me. Over the years Feyre and I had developed a secret sort of communication and were able to talk with each other via expressions. Feyre was asking for my help without actually saying something. I moved from my spot walking over to her.
“Where do you think I got it?” Feyre questioned back, her voice hoarse.
I looked over at Nesta and my Uncle, they were by the hearth warming their hands. I had noticed Elain but gave her no mind just like she did to me. I watched closely as Feyre removed a wolf pelt from the doe she had collected. Then she turned and took her boots off placing them by the door. Feyre turned back towards Elain and myself, she glanced at her second oldest sister before her eyes fell onto me.
“Will it take you long to clean it?” Elain had asked simply.
I took note of the question, it was directed towards me and Feyre. We were the only ones who truly knew how to clean an animal. It wasn’t a hard task to learn, all things considered. I released a huff and glided towards the doe. I paid no mind to the conversation going on currently. At some point Feyre had joined me and we began working together.
“Are you going to come with us to the market tomorrow?” I lifted my eyes at the question Feyre had asked. Then briefly I looked over at Nesta and Elain.
“I think I’ll stay here if that’s all right.” For some reason my voice was soft as I answered Feyre’s question. Feyre only gave a nod and the conversation dropped there. Eventually night fell and we were stuffed in the bed. I was exhausted from today’s adventure and ready for bed.
I had spent most of the day with my Uncle though he hadn’t made much of an effort to talk to me. So I ended up in the trees. When I didn’t want to talk to anyone this is where I’d come. I’d pick a tree, climb it and sit on the branch. Sometimes I’d stay resting on the tree well past sunset to watch the stars shine brightly in the sky. This was my safe heaven and I didn’t know what I’d do without this. Feyre stood down below staring up at me.
“Come on, food’s ready.” She said my cousin was never happy that I could climb the trees. She also didn’t understand why I did it. In a sense I guess I needed to be closer to the stars or the sun or maybe the clouds. I never really knew, it was always a guessing game with my feelings. “When will you stop climbing into trees?”
I shrugged my shoulders, attempting to move the weight on my back. It always felt like something was dragging against the ground. I didn’t understand it, I had hoped to one day reunite with my parents and ask them why it felt that way on my back. I hadn’t seen them since they dropped me off at my cousins, so I guess I would never really get my answers. I looked back at Feyre realizing that she was still waiting for me to answer her question, the one I hadn’t answered yet.
“Never. It’s my safe haven away from Nesta, Elain and Uncle.” I finally answered the question as Feyre and I started walking back towards the home.
“Just don’t hurt yourself. I can’t lose my best friend.” Feyre looked at me. Her blue-green eyes blazing brightly. We entered the house, finally we were all sitting down and eating the deer. I wasn’t in the mood to listen to whatever conversation they were having. I would take small bites of my food to savor it, and in between I’d play with it until I decided to take another bite. A roar so loud I had to cover my ears brought me out of my thoughts.
Hesitantly I reached for my dagger, but didn’t make a move to pull it out of its sheath. Nesta and Elain were screaming, snow burst into the room we were in as the door opened and a growling figure appeared in our line of sight. I was so confused as to what was going on but finally I pulled the dagger out of my hands and moved in front of Nesta and Elain. The dagger was in front of me as I looked up at the beast. My heartbeat was beating so fast, I couldn’t seem to calm it down.
“MURDERERS!” Its voice was rough as it looked around the room. My breath caught in my throat as I glanced over at Feyre. We both knew what this was. Faerie. I couldn’t believe there was a Fae in our home. Who was it and what did they want? Those were the only questions that seemed to be running through my mind. “MURDERERS!” It roared again.
“P-please,” I could hear my Uncle’s voice from somewhere in the room. I couldn’t look away from the beast to figure out where his voice was coming from. “Whatever we have done, we did so unknowingly, and—”
“W-w-we didn’t kill anyone.” Nesta added, choking on the sobs that left her lips. I briefly pulled my eyes away from the beast and saw her holding the iron bracket over her head. I guess she hoped it would protect her from the monster at our front door.
“Get out,” Feyre snapped at the beast, she held a dinner knife in front of her. I shifted slightly and caught the eyes of the beast. It looked at me, then it seemed to halt its movements. It sensed something on me, I could tell. “Get out, and begone.” Feyre added. His roar was so loud it shook the entire cottage along with everything in it. Before I had a chance to speak I watched Feyre hurl her hunting knife at the beast. But he was able to block it before it made contact with his skin.
Feyre stumbled backwards almost knocking into her father. I stepped forward slightly, the faerie had almost killed my cousin. I had almost lost her. The eyes of the monster landed on me, he looked at me differently then he had looked at Feyre. I straightened my back slightly, moving my shoulders to adjust the weight on my back. It was almost like he could sense that something was different about me. That I was different from my cousins. But as far as I was aware whatever was different about me he couldn’t see it. At least that’s what I hoped.
“WHO KILLED HIM?” He roared out, pulling his eyes away from me to look around at the rest of my family. He stalked towards us, he set his paw on the table, his claws scratched into the table one by one. I shuddered at the thought of what those claws could do.
“Killed who?” Feyre was quick to ask the question.
He growled out, his voice was low, “the wolf.” I looked to my cousin as her eyes fell to mine. I hadn’t been with her but she had in fact killed that wolf. At this moment I wish I had been with her. Maybe I should tell the creature that I was the one who had killed the wolf, but I knew Feyre wouldn’t let me do that.
“A wolf?” Elain released a shriek, I had to stop myself from covering my ears when I heard it.
“A large wolf with a gray coat,” he snarled at us.
“If it was mistakenly killed,” Feyre said to the beast, her voice calm. “What payment could we offer in exchange?” I closed my eyes dreading what this creature might want in return.
“The payment you must offer is the one demanded by the Treaty between our realms.”
“For a wolf?” I asked, tilting my head. This was so confusing.
“Who killed the wolf?” His eyes whirled around the room staring at each of us. I moved my shoulders, stepping forward however Feyre beat me to it.
“I did.” She said.
“Surely you lie to save them, to save her.” He said pointing at me with his clawed finger. I gulped, I feared that he might try and take me instead of Feyre. This wasn’t happening, this had to be a dream. I need to wake up now, I go to pinch myself only it hurts. This is real.
“We didn’t kill anything!” Elain cried. “Please… please, spare us!” Nesta hushed Elain, though she did it through her own crying. I couldn’t bring myself to cry like they were. I guess because I had been hunting for a while with Feyre. Suddenly my Uncle was standing from where he’d been sitting, grunting in pain.
“I killed it!” Feyre said, I watched as the beast pulled his eyes away from Nesta and Elain to look at her. “I sold its hide at the market today. If I had known it was a faerie, I wouldn’t have touched it.” I knew that was a lie.
“Liar.” So did he, apparently. “You knew. You would have been more tempted to slaughter it had you known it was one of my kind.”
“Can you blame me?”
“Did it attack you? Were you provoked?”
I looked over at my cousin waiting for her to say yes, to say something other than the word that was uttered from her mouth, “No,” she said, with a snarl of her own. “But considering all that your kind has done to us, considering what your kind still likes to do to us, even if I had known beyond a doubt, it was deserved.”
He released a growl to Feyre’s answer. I could feel the rage coming from the creature. I think we all could. I didn’t like where this was heading and I knew where this was heading. I didn’t want it to be the case. I can’t lose Feyre, she’s all I have. Sure the others are here but they don’t really care for me, I’m just an extra mouth that my parents forced them to take care of because they couldn’t handle whatever was wrong with me.
“What is the payment the Treaty requires?”
He continued to stare at Feyre as he talked to her, “A life for a life. Any unprovoked attacks on faerie-kind by humans are to be paid only by a human life in exchange.” Nesta and Elain stopped crying at the admission.
“I didn’t know.” Feyre said. “Didn’t know about that part of the Treaty.”
I couldn’t think of a way out of this, of a way to keep Feyre here with us. “Most of you mortals have chosen to forget that part of the Treaty,” he said, “which makes punishing you far more enjoyable.”
The panic inside me was flickering, I couldn’t lose her. He was going to take her away. I would never see the only person who understood me ever again.
“Do it outside,” Feyre whispered, her voice trembling. I wanted to cry for the first time in what felt like forever. But I still couldn’t bring myself to not yet anyway. “Not… here.”
“Willing to accept your fate so easily?” He asked. “For having the nerve to request where I slaughter you, I’ll let you in on a secret, human: Prythian must claim your life in some way, for the life you took from it. So as a representative of the immortal realm, I can either gut you like swine, or… you can cross the wal and live our the remainder of your days in Prythian.”
“What?” Feyre asked.
“Please.” I begged, no matter how hard I was trying to hold back my tears they had started to fall down my face. “Please don’t take her away from me. I can’t lose her.” I broke, as the words exited my mouth. My knees trembled and I quickly dropped to the ground staring at the beast.
“You can either die tonight or offer your life to Prythian by living in it forever, forsaking the human realm.”
I was shaking my head looking at my cousin. “Do it, Feyre,” my Uncle whispered from behind Feyre. “Go.”
“No. Please.” I cried out again.
“Live where? Every inch of Prythian is lethal to us.” She does have a point. “Why bother?”
“You murdered my friend,” he snarled at her. “Murdered him, skinned his corpse, sold it at the market, and then said he deserved it, and yet you have the nerve to question my generosity?”
Feyre stepped forward. “You didn’t need to mention the loophole.”
He released another snarl. “Foolish of me to forget that humans have such low opinions of us. Do you humans no longer understand mercy?” He’s so close to Feyre now. “Let me make this clear for you, girl: you can either come live at my home in Prythian—offer your life for the wolf’s in that way—or you can walk outside right now and be shredded to ribbons. Your choice.”
“Please, good sire—Feyre is my youngest. I beseech you to spare her. She is all… she is all…” His words seemed to die in his throat as he talked. “Please—”
“Silence.”
“I can get gold—” He tried to come up with a compromise, and I hoped that the beast would allow it over taking Feyre away.
“How much is your daughter’s life worth to you? Do you think it equates to a sum?” He questioned. Nothing came out to answer the question, the silence was deafening as Feyre stepped forward. She looked back at me, like she was sending her apology to me. I knew what it meant, she was leaving to protect all of us. And to honor the Treaty he was talking about.
“When do we go?” Feyre asked, I started shaking my head. I couldn’t breath, this was happening too fast for my liking.
“Now.”
I couldn’t hear anything after that. It was all silent. I wanted this to be a dream more than anything right now. I wish it were. I really do wish I could just wake up from this. I felt myself begging the creature over and over, asking to go with them. But Feyre turned it down before I even had a chance. I felt her arms around me as she said goodbye. But I still couldn’t process anything. Before I knew it she was gone, taken just like that.
I wouldn’t have my best friend with me anymore. I’d live a life without her and that broke me. I crumpled to the floor and cried out silently. I received no comfort from any of them the rest of the night. I just stayed on the floor until I eventually cried myself to sleep, hoping for a better future. Maybe I’d get a better future now. I just had to remain strong and not let my thoughts consume me. But that was a difficult challenge.

WORD COUNT: 2.3K
Prologue
Tumblr media
Things had changed a lot since I had joined the Spring Court. I had found a safe home. After the first five years Lucien and I started seeing each other secretly. One evening Lucien had returned from a trip to the borders and we weren’t able to make it back to my bedroom. Tamlin had caught us red handed. Lucien and I had laughed about it but I’m pretty certain we had scared the male.
Since then he hasn’t really said anything to us about our relationship but I don’t think he really cared. Today Tamlin would be leaving to hunt down the human girl that had surely killed Andras. He’d been sent out to hopefully find a human that would break the curse on Tamlin, and Lucien and the rest of his Court. Maybe she’d even be the one to save us all. The sun was shining into the room that Lucien and I shared.
His golden-brown arms were wrapped around my waist. My back to his chest. It was a nice feeling, to feel his warm skin against mine. This was the happiest I have ever felt in my entire life. Lucien was still asleep, when I looked back at him there was a peaceful content look on his face. I wish more than anything that I could see the entirety of his face. That damned masked block most of his face, and I wish more than anything to see that scar.
He had told me how it had happened, after I shared something with him. I had a scar from my mother on my back, on my right shoulder. He’d seen it one night, well he’d seen all of them. But he chose to ask about that one. I told him what had happened. What my mother and father had done to me when I didn’t follow their orders. I was crying by the end of it. So Lucien told me about how he had gotten the scar on his eye, and how the mechanical eye had replaced his once russet eye.
More than anything I had wished that night to murder Amarantha for what she’d done to him. I shake the thoughts away, slowly and gently I turn around in Lucien’s grip. Then I start placing soft kisses on his neck, and eventually his chest hoping he’d wake up. A smirk graced my lips when I heard a groan release from his mouth, he’s awake now. I love mornings like these, where it’s just the two of us.
“What are you doing, my starlight?” He had started calling me that when he discovered the shield I had created to protect myself. I hadn’t meant to let any of my other powers slip out but that one I couldn’t control at the moment. Tamlin had also seen it. Shortly after that I had shared with them both what I could do, including summoning the wings. Which I now knew to belong to Illyrians.
I had seen the look they had exchanged when they saw my wings for the first time. When I demanded to know what they were keeping from me they refused. To this day I still don’t understand the look of shock and confusion I saw on their faces, I don’t understand why I saw the realization afterwards. Their expressions didn’t make sense, and the one time I wanted to hear their thoughts, I got nothing. Somehow they were able to keep their thoughts at bay.
“I’m not doing anything.” I say, the humor is there in my voice as I continue to kiss his chest.
I don’t get a chance to make it very far though. He removes his arms from around my waist, but in the process he flips us over so he’s on top of me. I can feel him between my thighs, his cock already hard. Lucien leans closer to me, and his lips find purchase on mine. His kiss was so passionate. I loved when he was like this. I kissed him back softly. Lucien leaned down closer to me, his chest on top of mine.
He pulled his lips away from mine, but he continued to place kisses on my face. Giggles left my mouth. Lucien pulled away from me, his hands reached for the night gown that I was in and he started to pull it up my body. I lifted my arms allowing him access to take the gown off. Then he pulled his clothes off and leaned back down on top of me. I could feel all of him as I stared into his russet and gold eyes. He was so beautiful, and I was so lucky to be here with him at this moment.

Tamlin had been gone for a few days, I had spent most of my time with Lucien. Some of it is definitely between the sheets in our room. The other time we were out riding the horses. Lucien and I were heading back to the estate. I was so exhausted and ready to crash in my bed. I walked with Lucien, we headed into the mansion. The male held onto my hand as he searched for Tamlin who had most likely returned, hopefully with a human girl that would break their curse.
When we entered the room, I noticed the human girl. My grip on Lucien’s hand tightened; he took notice of this. The girl's thoughts were running around my mind, she was curious as to why I didn’t have a mask, while Tamlin and Lucien did. Finally Lucien was the first to break the silence between us.
“Well?” Lucien questioned. We walked over to Tamlin, both of us bowing down to him. Lucien had not looked at the human once since we walked into the room.
“What, what?” Tamlin inquired back, cocking his head. I didn’t like when he acted this way. There were some instances where Tamlin had scared me. So much so that I wouldn’t leave my room if Lucien were out at the borders.
“Is Andras dead, then?”
Tamlin sent Lucien a nod, my heart broke. “I’m sorry.” He says quietly. Lucien let go of my hand. I looked down to see him squeeze his hands closed, his knuckles turning white.
“How?” Lucien demanded. I stepped closer towards my lover, placing a hand on his shoulder and squeezing it.
“An ash arrow.” A hiss released from Lucien. I closed my eyes looking away from the two males. “The Treaty’s summons led me to the mortal. I gave her safe haven.”
“What?” I questioned, looking back at Tamlin. My eyes briefly glanced at the human, but I looked away from her and looked back at Tamlin.
“A girl━a mortal girl actually killed Andras.” I could tell that Lucien was not happy about this, venom was laced in his voice as he said it. Lucien glanced at the end of the table. I did too, but my eyes caught sight of the human. She was so short compared to us. “And the summons found the girl responsible.”
“How? How is that possible?” I asked, turning back towards Tamlin.
A bitter laugh left his mouth, he lifted a finger to point at the human. “The Treaty’s magic brought me right to her doorstep.”
Lucien turned away from Tamlin to look at her. She was taking in everything that Lucien had to offer. I wanted to be jealous of it, but I couldn’t. Something inside me was telling me not to, it was confusing if I was being honest.
“You’re joking,” Lucien said quietly. “That scrawny thing brought down Andras with a single ash arrow?”
I swatted my hand into Lucien’s shoulder, he turned briefly to glare at me. I had to hide the smile that rushed to my face. But I couldn’t hide the heat running to my cheeks. “Be nice.” I whispered. However I heard her thinking about how she wanted another ash arrow to shoot into Lucien. This earned a glare from me, as I looked at the human. She noticed it too and recoiled closer to the wall.
“She admitted to it,” Tamlin explained as he traced a finger on his goblet. I watched the claw slip out scraping against the metal. A groan escaped my lips. Tamlin and Lucien both looked at me for a brief moment.
“I’m fine.” I whispered.
“She didn’t try to deny it.” Tamlin added, after I had spoken. Lucien walked away from me, he sat on the table at the very end. I followed behind him, only I sat down in the chair. I reached for his hand, hoping for comfort.
“Well,” Lucien seethed, “now we’re stuck with that, thanks to your useless mercy, and you’ve ruined━” I looked away from Lucien watching the girl take one step forward.
“Did you enjoy killing my friend, human?” Lucien asked. “Did you hesitate, or was the hatred in your heart riding you too hard to consider sparing him? It must have been so satisfying for a small mortal thing like you to take him down.”
I understood that Lucien was upset over the loss of his friend, but I didn’t like seeing him like this. He was so sad, and I wanted to do something about it, but just like the jealousy I wanted to feel earlier I couldn’t be upset over the way he was feeling.
“Anyway,” Lucien continued, turning towards Tamlin again. “Perhaps there’s a way to━”
“Lucien,” Tamlin spoke quietly, I glanced at the High Lord hearing the snarl bounce around the room. “Behave.” I felt Lucien go stiff, my violet eyes lifted to him. He hopped off the table letting go of my hand and walking towards the other end of the table, bowing to the human.
“My apologies, lady. I’m Lucien. Courtier and emissary.” I stood from the chair, shifting my body towards the two. “Your eyes are like stars, and your hair like burnished gold.” I came up next to him, I forced a smile to my lips only because I was ready to go to bed now. Hopefully I could convince my lover to come with me. It was a slim chance though.
“I’m Evangline, but please call me Evie.” I said, hoping to show some kind of enthusiasm. Lucien and I were now waiting for her to offer her name to us.
“Her name is Feyre.” Tamlin had his green eyes on the human. I knew one thing for sure, the High Lord was going to try and get this human to fall in love with him. From the looks of what I’ve already seen he’d have an easy chance to do so. It seemed like wherever she came from her family most likely didn’t care. It looks like we have something in common. “Alis will take you to your room. You could use a bath and fresh clothes.”
Alis walked over to Feyre and guided her out of the room. “That’s the hand the Cauldron thought to deal us? She brought Andras down? We never should have sent him out there━none of them should have been out there. It was a fool’s mission.” Lucien growled, it was a bitter growl. “Maybe we should just take a stand━maybe it’s time to say enough. Evie could possibly put a stop to her. Dump the girl somewhere, kill her, I don’t care━she’s nothing but a burden here. She’d sooner put a knife in your back than talk to you━or any of us.” Lucien explained.
“I can’t do that. I-I won’t do that, Lu.” I whispered, I wanted to look at him but my eyes were on Tamlin instead. Even though I still had a feeling I shouldn’t trust him, I knew that he’d protect me from her. I noticed how quickly Lucien changed his posture when he realized the words that had slipped from his mouth. He walked over to me and placed his hand on my cheek, his thumb grazed it.
“No. I am not putting Evie in danger.” Tamlin’s voice ran through our ears, we both looked at him. “And not until we know for certain that there is no other way will we make a move. And as for the girl, she stays. Unharmed. End of discussion. Her life in that hovel was Hell enough.”
“Then you’ve got your work cut out for you, old son," Lucien said. “I’m sure her life will be a fine replacement for Andras’s━maybe she can even train with the others on the border.”
Tamlin snarls at the red headed male. I move to stand in front of them. “Both of you need to behave. You don’t need Feyre hearing any of this. Lucien, while that seems like a great idea in theory, she is human and she will die out there.”
“I’m sorry, my starlight. Lucien’s voice was soft, calm as he whispered it in my ear. He pressed himself against the backside of my body. He moved closer to me, I could already feel his length against me. I smirked, feeling arousal pull in my stomach. I knew then that our scents had shifted giving that Tamlin was glaring daggers at us.
“I think it’s best if we leave.” I said softly, smiling brightly. Lucien nodded his head, we turned around and quickly walked out of the room before I opened a portal to our shared room. Once we walked through Lucien hoisted me up into his arms. His lips attached to my skin for a brief moment. A moan left my lips, followed by a whimper when he stopped kissing me. Suddenly I was thrown on our bed, a fit of laughter left my mouth.
“You are a naughty little thing.” Lucien said brightly as he climbed on top of me.
“Me? You're the one who pressed his hard cock to me.” I fought back, wrapping my arms around his neck.
“Naughty, naughty, my starlight.”
“Only for you.” I whispered.

SUMMARY: You struggle to come to terms with the battle against Hybern. But Feyre’s pregnancy looms over everyone. And while everyone is worried about her and the babe with wings your mates are worried about you and the state you’ve been left in.
PAIRINGS: Bat Boys x Reader
CONTENT WARNING: Mentions of trauma, mentions of war, mentions of death, lying, the inner circle, cliff hanger
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This post is out a little late, mainly because I couldn't post it while I was at work as I did not have my laptop. It's looking like this is turning into a series if I can't get everything finished in part 3. I really don't want to rush it so it might be turning into a series. If you wish to be tagged in the next part let me know in the comments.

Feyre is pregnant. You were happy for her and Ryder, you knew they deserved it after all the trouble they’d gone through just to be with each other. Since the war had ended you and your mates had not yet accepted the bond fully. Cassian and Azriel were on missions and you and Rhysand were working hard with the other High Lords to come to an agreement on the treaty. Right now that was the least of your concerns.
You were curled up on Rhysand’s lap, your head rested on his chest while his arms were draped around your body. Cassian and Azriel had found it hard to keep their eyes off their mates. It had been hard to separate you from Rhy’s side as of late. Though the High Lord wasn’t complaining. Everyone was in the room in your home that Rhys had built after the war. It was nice to be able to come home to the three males. Feyre and Ryder had a home built right next to yours.
Right now they were discussing whether they should tell Lucien about his true heritage. You didn’t agree with them in the slightest, and their reasoning for not wanting to tell him was starting to anger you. You knew you were pushing it down the bond, you knew that Rhys, Cass, and Az could feel everything you were sending them. It wasn’t fair to Lucien to be kept in the dark about who his father really was.
You felt differently towards this whole conversation, you wanted to know what it was like to truly have a brother. And Lucien was your brother, he was your half-brother; but still he was blood nonetheless. And you knew he deserved to know. You had disliked how they all had treated him in the aftermath of what Hybern had done to Nesta and Elain. You knew he wasn’t in the right, but he didn’t deserve the treatment he was getting.
You felt an unbearable headache coming on, you’d have to stop at Madja to see if she’d have anything for the pain, and maybe you’d get a sleeping tonic to hopefully allow you to at least get one peaceful sleep without nightmares. The constant arguing was starting to get on your nerves. Finally you had enough and stood up from Rhy’s lap. You already missed his warmth and wanted to crawl back into his lap.
”Are you ok, love?” Azriel questioned, his brow lifted as he leaned forward in his seat next to Cassian. His hazel eyes were glued to you. There was a trace of worry in his features.
”This isn’t right.” You mumbled, walking to the center of the room. You wrapped your arms around your body as all eyes were now on you. “I don’t think this should be kept from him.”
”Y/N, Lucien is in the human lands, one secret won’t hurt him.” Rhy’s soft voice swam through your pointed ears. Shock fell upon your features as you stared at your mate.
”No, I won’t have it.” You glared at him, at the male who had made you his High Lady.
”Why? Why are you so eager to tell that male?” Amren asked, her eyes blazing brightly as she stared at you.
”Because he deserves to know his father.” You paused, closing your mouth. You were trying so hard to hold back the tears but waves were crashing into you like you weren’t made of stone. “Because I deserve a brother who loves me, and doesn’t treat me like shit, one who didn’t get my mother killed. I deserve better than those Illyrian bastards I was forced to call brothers. Most importantly, Lucien deserves a family who loves him for him and not who he sided with.”
The hurt was evident in your voice as you spoke to them. You couldn’t stand it anymore. All their eyes on you. Taking a deep breath in to calm yourself, then you released it. Turning away from them you quickly walked out of the room heading to your shared room with Rhysand, Cassian, and Azriel. All of whom had exchanged a concerned look with each other.
”I think it’s best if we come back to this matter on a later day.” Rhys said, as he stood from his chair and walked out of the living room heading down the hallway. Cassian and Azriel would see to it that everyone left and then they’d join you and Rhys.
When you made it to the bedroom you collapsed into the bed and pulled the covers over your head. You didn’t understand why this was something that needed to be discussed. Lucien deserved to know that Helion was his father, that you were his half-sister. You deserved so much and so did he. You pressed your eyes closed tightly when you heard the door open. You weren’t in the mood to talk to any of them tonight, not while the emotions were still fresh in your mind.
You felt Rhys press his body into you, his arm wrapped around your waist and he pulled you and the cover closer to him. His chin rested on top of your hair, slowly you started to remove the cover from the top half of your body. Just as Cassian and Azriel walked into the room. You felt the bed dip again. Cassian was on the other side of you and Azriel was behind Rhys.
Since coming home from the war you had curled up next to Rhys at night, while Cassian and Azriel would often switch which side of the bed they slept on. Rhy’s violet eyes found yours, he pulled his hand up and rested it on your cheek.
“Do you want to talk about whatever is bothering you darling?” Rhys asked, his voice so soft. You shook your head, Rhys’ hand moving with your movement.
“Not tonight, I-I can’t.” Your lips were trembling as more fresh tears fell down your face.
“We’ll talk about it when you're ready sweetheart.” Cassian was the next to speak, he nudged his head into your neck and breathed in your sweet scent.
“Get some sleep, love.” Azriel was the next to speak. You once again found yourself nodding your head. It was difficult to come up with the words right now. You snuggled up between your three mates and eventually sleep found you but it wasn’t a dreamless sleep like you’d hoped for.
They were surrounding you, there was nowhere to go. And you’d be forced with only one option, kill them. They were now a fading memory, fighting on the losing side. You were covered in blood, your hair was caked with that blood and dirt. Your fingers tightened around your sword, knuckles turning white from the grip. Rhys had reached out to you via mind informing you that Cassian had been injured.
“Well… look at you.” The male whom you thought was your father spoke to you. “You think you’re tough and strong now.” He wasn’t your father, Helion was. Though the other males were still your half-brothers.
“I have nothing to prove to you.” Your voice was venomous as the words dripped from your lips. The  male glanced at your brothers. A hideous laugh escaped his mouth, then he lifted his blade in the air and ran towards you. Your brothers stood still, while your own blade came in contact with the male’s sword.
Grunts escaped from you as you fought him off. Your power was itching to break free. It tingles inside you. You ignored it just as the sword cut your shoulder. A wince escaped you and the males laughed loudly, but that was enough for you to lose all control you had left. Suddenly you blacked out, when you  came to you were on your knees. Sword next to you as you breathed heavily. They were no more.
But then everything changed, you were in front of your mates. Sad looks crossed their faces. They were kneeling on the ground. Two Hybern soldiers held onto you. Hybern himself stood behind your mates.
“Such a pity you had to be mated to these three batards.” Hybern’s words slammed into you, constricting your lungs.
“No, please. Don’t touch them.” You cried out.
But the words didn’t matter. It didn’t matter how much you begged him. You felt your heart stop when you no longer felt them through the bond.
“No! No!” You pulled yourself out of the bed, running to the bathroom and hurling the contents of your dinner up. You calmed slightly when you felt their welcoming presence. A few of Az’s shadows curled around your body helping you cool down. Sweat covered you entirely, you could feel their concern through the bond. But you knew they could feel your fear.
“What was it, love?” Azriel’s voice was close to your ears. Cassian had his hands wrapped around your hair keeping it from falling into your face while you continued to hurl up the rest of your dinner. Rhys and Az placed a hand on you, both rubbing soothing circles on your back. Since returning from the war there had been a lot of nights like this. But Ryder was the only one who truly knew about your nightmares.
“Bad dream.” You whispered when the hurling finally stopped.
“Please tell us what you saw.” Cassian was the one to speak this time. But you couldn’t speak it into existence.
“Show me darling, only if you can.” Rhys said, speaking in your mind. So you lowered your shield and allowed Rhysand to see what you had dreamed tonight. It had been the same, but this was the first night you had dreamt a nightmare where your mates died. “Can I show Cass and Az?”
“Yes.” You replied back.
You moved to the floor, the shadows that had left their master followed you and continued to glide around your body. You kept your eyes closed, Rhys picked you up from the bathroom floor and carried you back to the bed. Azriel and Cassian followed behind you and him. It was quiet, you assumed that the males were talking to each other, trying to figure out what to do. How to handle your trauma. These nightmares were constant, never ending. You never caught a break, always losing sleep because of the nightmares.
The four of you settled into the bed in the same position you’d been in before you’d woken up. “I’m sorry.” You whispered, tears starting to fall from your eyes.
“There is nothing to apologize for, love.” Azriel whispered, he had his chin resting on Rhysand’s shoulder, and his hazel eyes were on you. His shadows moved around until they eventually covered the four of you. They were protecting you and your mates.
“It’s okay to feel this way. You have gone through so much, and you will get through this.” Cassian nuzzled his head into your neck, he moved his hand to rest on your waist and gently began to move his finger in a circle, a motion he knew calmed you down.
“You almost lost Cassian, you and Az both. You all experienced my death, and I can never take back what I did. I truly am sorry for putting you three through that. I’m here now, and I’m not leaving any of you again.” Rhys made the declaration clear to his mates. “I love you all equally, and I promise we will get through this together. We’ll help you with your nightmares.”
You nodded in understanding “I wish I didn't kill them. I hate that they are responsible for my mother’s death, but I regret killing them.” You paused trying to think of what to say next, you knew that they’d seen it. How you had acted in the nightmare when you killed them was exactly what had happened and even after all these months after the war it still haunted you.
“You did what you had to.” Azriel said.
“I blacked out. I panicked. I didn’t think I could do that, I didn’t even mean to kill them. It just happened and I know that’s probably not an excuse but that’s what happened. Next thing I knew Helion was in front of me and then Rhys was gone and I couldn’t feel him.”
Rhys tightened his arms around you, it still felt like a dream. It still felt like Rhys and Cass weren’t here and it was just you, and Azriel, and his shadows. Since you had lost your wings nothing was falling into place the way you thought it would and right now it really didn’t seem real.
“It’s real, Cass and I are real.” His smooth voice ran through your ears. You only gave a brief nod. Sleep was starting to fall over you again. But you didn’t know how long you would get before the nightmares returned.
The sun shined brightly in your shared room. But you were quickly disappointed when you discovered none of your mates were in the bed with you. Throwing the covers off your body you stood to quickly change into comfortable clothes rather than going for a dress. Being the High Lady of the Night Court was the least of your worries right now. You opened the door and started to traverse down the hallway, voices were coming from the living room.
You could hear Rhys talking, though you were unsure of who he was talking to. Slowly you came to a stop and listened in on the conversation. You could tell that Cass and Az were in the room as well. You assumed judging by the hushed whispers that everyone else was included in the conversation but you. Which only meant one thing, they were discussing Lucien without you.
“Y/N is going to be beyond angry when she finds out that we voted without her.” It was Feyre’s voice that you hear break through Rhys’s comment.
“I know, but right now I don’t think it’s a great idea for Lucien to know. Y/N needs time to process the events of the war and she needs time to focus on the powers that she received from Helion. Lucien would be an added distraction on top of all of that.” Rhysand said.
They were going to keep this from you. A secret. One of many you assumed. You didn’t want to hear anymore of this. You stepped around the corner and looked at everyone in the room. Rhysand had his back to you.
“You voted not to tell him?” The hurt was evident in your voice. Cassian and Azriel were quick to stand up as Rhysand turned towards you. A look of shock on his face, clearly he had not expected you to be awake. “I woke up to an empty bed, one without my mates. So I came searching only to discover that you thought it was best that I didn’t have an added distraction. What in your right mind thought that was best for me? He’s my brother, he deserves to know.” The anger flared in your body and it was evident in the way that your power had started to show.
The light illuminates your body, some have to look away. “I thought it was best! Y/N. Cass and Az didn’t have a say in the matter.”
You shook your head. “I can’t believe you, Rhys. This is a new low even for you. Keeping that from him and Helion would only damage my relationship with both males. Did you even stop to think about that, about what might happen if they found out, if they found out that I lied to them.”
“I-”
“No. That’s not fair. Not fair to them and not fair to me.”
Before he could get another word in you winnowed away. It was the only thing you’d really learned to get the hang of after discovering what powers you’d received from your father. A door opened, before anything came out of your mouth you collapsed into the arms of the male that is your brother.
“Y/N, what are you doing here?” Lucien questioned, eyes on you.
“You’re my brother.” The shock was so clear on his face, but you couldn’t hold it in anymore.

Life Eternal | Tamlin
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUMMARY: The last thing you expected was to be mated to the High Lord of Spring. But after the events of losing your husband in the war you didn’t think you could have another chance of happiness.
PAIRINGS: Tamlin x Reader
CONTENT WARNING: Angst, Fluff, SFW.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: So this sort of follows Life Eternal by Ghost. Tamlin also gets a happy ending in this. Idk I just felt that this idea best fit Tamlin and that's why I wrote it. I hope you like it!

The last thing you ever expected was to lose your husband in the War against Hybern. Everything after that fateful day had changed. You had become a widow and a single mother, a six month old babe to raise on your own. You were lucky enough to have friends in the Night Court. You had met Azriel through your husband.
For a short time, long before Amarantha came into the story you and your husband had been a part of the Spring Court considering your family had been a part of Spring. Your husband was an Illyrian warrior, he had met you by pure luck and the two of you fell in love. He stayed with you in the Spring Court for years until Rhysand had sent Azriel to bring him home.
You had discovered that Rhysand was not only his High Lord but his older brother by three years. He was the second oldest above their little sister whom you later learned had been killed by your High Lord’s father and brothers. After learning the truth you no longer wished to stay in the Spring Court and joined your husband. Soon you were introduced to the Inner Circle and Velaris as well.
You had found a home in the Night Court and even before your husband had died you had proved yourself worthy of a title inside the Night Court. That war changed everything. You had agreed to stay back with your son, while everyone went to fight. Your husband had promised he’d be back, that he would continue to teach your babe to slowly take control of his wings even though he wasn’t old enough yet.
It was clear to you that he wanted to be the best father to his son, that he wanted to make sure he knew his son knew that his wings were present in his back. When you and your husband had first learned that your child would have wings you were terrified. You had heard stories of females dying in childbirth because their child had wings and they hadn’t had the proper hips to birth a winged babe.
While the stories were rare they existed. You were lucky enough to have some trace of Illyrian in you. Madja had been the one to confirm that you would be able to carry the winged babe to term and not have any issues. But it still scared you. And when he was finally born, the fear of seeing him fly us held a strong grip on you. You were lucky that he would have his father and uncles to teach him to fly.
But it changed, everything always changes. You were in the House of Wind playing with your son when they finally returned. A smile was on your lips ready to greet everyone including your husband. However it faded the second everyone looked at you with guilty eyes. Mor was the first to step forward, taking your son from your hands and walking out of the room with him. She didn’t want to be there, she couldn’t see the look on your face when they told you.
“Where’s Orin?” You questioned, your voice cracked. Everyone exchanged a look with each other. Then Rhysand stepped towards you. Tears filled in your eyes as you stared at your brother in law.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N.” Rhys said, his voice breaking. He had lost his brother and telling you was the worst thing he ever had to do.
“Where’s Orin?” You repeated your question, ready to winnow away. You knew what was coming and you weren’t prepared for it. You looked at Feyre.
“Watch over him for a few days, please?” You asked via mind. She only gave a soft nod as Rhys took another step towards you.
“Hybern, he killed him. I couldn’t… I couldn’t do anything to save him. I’m so sorry, Y/N.”
Rhys tried to pull you in for a hug but you disappeared. You had winnowed away before he had a chance. You collapsed into the fields you’d known for a long time before you left. The weather was just as you remembered. A scream left your lips, you held your hands to your chest as tears rolled down your face.
The High Lord of Spring felt a presence in his court. It had been so long since he’d felt some sort of life. But the scream he heard was gutted and broken. In his beast form he listened closely for the cries that followed after. He wasn’t sure who was hurt but he needed to make sure whoever it was was okay. His court might have fallen because of his ex lover but with the war over he needed to rebuild.
He shifted back into his fae form staring at you from a distance, afraid to take a step forward. He watched you lift your gaze, eyes finding his though you couldn’t be sure who or what you’d seen. As the male stood there in the trees he felt the golden string come to life, tying his soul to yours. He collapsed to his knees, a soft gasp leaving his lips. He wasn’t sure if you had felt it and he couldn’t bring himself to ask you when he had no idea who you were.
A gasp had escaped your lips too. The last thing you had expected when you knew you had seen the High Lord was that he was your mate. You knew he wasn’t who he had seemed to be when Feyre had started to love him. Everything you knew about him had come from everyone else including your husband. Guilt washed over your face as you came to realize the true effects of the mating bond.
How could you be destined to someone so cruel? How could the Mother decide that the High Lord was your mate and not your husband, not the male you’d loved so much. Instead you were tied down to this male before you. He stepped closer to you, and as much as you’d wanted to run away you were too exhausted from the pain, from all the news you’d just gotten. When he kneeled down in front of you his green eyes were soft.
It was odd to see Tamlin act this way. You’d heard the stories from Rhys and Feyre about the way he’d acted. And as he lifted his hand to cup your cheek, there was something that had shifted in him. Finally words spilled from his mouth as he stared at your face, so many emotions resting on it.
“I don’t expect you to accept the mating bond. I can feel your pain, your hurt. And I’m almost certain you know about the terrible things I’ve done. I will never forgive myself for the pain I have caused others. But please, let me have a chance to show you a better version of myself.” He was so sincere as he talked to you. You didn’t understand why you were getting this version of him. Why he hadn’t done better with Feyre.
“You hurt my sister in-law.” You mumbled softly. Tamlin was shocked by the words, but he had been expecting something worse. Instead you hadn’t pulled yourself away from his hand that still rested on your cheek. His warmth was a welcome surprise.
“I did, and I will never be able to take back the wrong I did to Feyre, but I can learn from my mistakes and hopefully be better than I once was. Maybe you can help me.” There was hope in his green eyes as you stared at your mate.
“I have a son.” You whispered softly. “He’s Orin’s son. Rhys is his Uncle, as are Cassian and Azriel. None of them would be pleased to discover the mating bond between us. I can not accept it, but I’m not rejecting the bond. I believe that everyone deserves a second chance, everyone also deserves to be happy.” You paused, placing your hand on top of Tamlin’s and sending him a soft smile. “If Rhys can have his happy ending with Feyre, then you deserve your happy ending. I am willing to put forth the effort, but I need time to mourn my husband.”
Your words ran through his head. He was shocked that you’d admitted to not wanting to accept the bond but not rejecting it either. It meant that there was a chance he could change, and he’d do it for you, he’d do it for your son too. And if you needed time to mourn the loss of your husband then he’d give it to you.
“Take all the time you need. I’ll be waiting when you’re ready, Y/N.”
After that day Tamlin had a better look on life. You’d stayed at his mansion helping to clean up whatever you could. It helped keep your mind off the loss of your husband and allowed you to mourn the way you needed to. Eventually you had asked Feyre if someone could bring your son to you in the Spring Court. You had mentioned how you weren’t quite ready to leave, but you didn’t want to be away from your son.
Tamlin stood near you, while the two of you waited for Rhys and Feyre to show up. You’d be telling them about the mating bond though you had yet to decide if you were ready to accept it. There was a change in the Spring Court, with it being rebuilt others were returning to help and move back to their home court. Tamlin was thankful for the help you’d done in the weeks that you’d been here. You looked back at the male as Rhys and Feyre appeared. Seconds later Azriel and Cassian dropped down from the sky.
“What’s he doing here, Y/N?” Rhys had asked the second he spotted the High Lord.
You only rolled your eyes at your brother in-law walking over to Feyre and taking your son from her. Tamlin watched as your whole expression changed when you saw your son. He couldn’t stop the smile that had fell to his lips as he watched you talk to your son. You looked up from your son and placed your eyes on Tamlin. For the first time in weeks he had a look of love on his face.
The four seemed to notice as well. You stepped away from them, knowing very well they were watching the exchange between you and Tamlin. However the scent of the mating bond between you and Tamlin was there. Rhys could smell it, they all could. You stopped in front of Tamlin, still holding your eyes to him.
“Tam, this is my son, Atlas.” You said softly holding the babe towards the male.
Tamlin was hesitant to be near the babe. But you handed him off to Tamlin so easily. This was the moment you’d make your decision. Atlas cooed as he stared up at Tamlin. You felt your heart swell with pride and love, Tamlin could feel it down the bond which had caused him to lift his gaze from Atlas and look at you. Finally you turned back to your family.
“I know I disappeared and I’m sorry. But I needed to mourn Orin, I needed to move on without you all pestering me. I know I’ll always be welcome in the Night Court but I can’t go back there. As I’m sure you're aware, Tamlin is my mate.” You paused taking a deep breath. You felt Tamlin move closer to you, his warmth hitting your back. “I know that Orin would want me to move on, he’d want me to be happy. And since I’ve come back here, I have been. Tamlin still has a lot to make up for, and I expect him to earn his forgiveness eventually. I know it’ll take you and Rhys a while to fully accept the idea of Tamlin being my mate, but I’m not rejecting the bond.”
Feyre and Rhys exchanged a glance with each other. Feyre was the first to step forward. “Will you be happy here?” She asked, the concern on her face. You knew why it was there, and you understood it. But so far Tamlin had been true to his word, he’d treated you differently, and while it was still a shock you took it with open arms.
“I will. Tamlin and I still have a lot of rebuilding to do. He still has a lot of trust to earn, but I think this is what I was always meant to do. I think I was always meant to be here, that’s why the Mother made Tamlin my mate.” Rhys opened his mouth. “If he so much as steps out of line you will be the first to know. But I don’t think that’ll happen.”
You had high hopes in your mate, you believed that he could be a better version of himself. Already he had made you feel so loved, he helped you mourn the loss of a male that meant nothing to him. He’d helped you in so many ways you were honestly surprised. But he was taking the steps to be better. And it made you happy.
“Do we still get to see Atlas?” Rhys asked, his violet eyes on his nephew who was still in Tamlin’s arms.
“Of course, I don’t think Tamlin would ban you from his court. Just please send word if you're stopping by.” You looked back at Tamlin who gave a stern nod, though his jaw was clenched.
“Would you mind if I spoke to Tamlin alone, dear Y/N?” Rhys asked violet eyes on you. You turned back to your brother in law and gave him a nod. You walked over to Feyre and Tamlin walked with Atlas and Rhys by his side.
“Is this ok?” You asked, staring at your High Lady. Though she wouldn’t be your High Lady for much longer.
“I don’t regret the things I’ve done to Tamlin, they’ve made up for the harm he caused me. I do worry a little that you might regret your actions but I trust that you know what you’re doing. After all he is your mate. I just wished we’d all known all along that he was supposed to be with you.”
“I don’t.” This caught Feyre by surprise. “I loved Orin with my entire being. And as much as I wished he was my mate I’m glad he wasn’t. I was so hurt that he’d gone off to war, leaving me to take care of our son. Then you all returned and said that he’d died. I was so broken, we’d gotten into an argument before he left and I had said some hateful things to him, of which I regret and will always carry with me.”
“He wasn’t mad at you for feeling the way that you did.”
“I know, but I was.” You paused, turned to look back at your mate. Then your eyes landed on your son who seemed to have a small smile on his lips as he stared up at the male. “I know Tamlin has done terrible things. And I will never look past what he did to you. But I believe he deserves a second chance. And regardless of him being my mate, I’m going to give him a second chance to make himself better to learn from the mistakes he’s made. And he’s starting to see the wrong he did. He’s rebuilding his Court, he’s already stated that I will be his High Lady. And I know that’s something you wanted here, and I’m so sorry you didn’t get it.”
“Don’t be. I wasn’t destined to be the High Lady of Spring. You are. You might possibly be the best thing to happen to Tamlin after me. We showed each other the toxicity in the love we had and with our next partner we broke that. I believe with all my being that everything that happened was always supposed to happen. This was for the best.”
You smiled at Feyre, walked over to her and wrapped her in a warm hug. She hugged you back tightly. Rhys and Tamlin now had their eyes on their mates but neither of seemed to care.
“Thank you.” You whispered. The two of you pulled back from the hug, then you and Feyre walked over to Rhys and Tamlin. The smile on your face grew as you stared at your mate and child. An arm gently rested around Tamlin’s waist, you moved closer to him as Rhys and Feyre said their goodbyes. “Let’s go home.” You whispered softly. Tamlin gave a nod of his hair and placed a kiss on your forehead. The two of you turned around and walked back towards the manor.

Chaos: Prologue
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUMMARY: Evangeline did the only thing she knew she could. She ran. Upon leaving her home court, she crash lands into the Spring Court, hoping to find a better home.
PAIRINGS: Evangeline Nightbane x Lucien Vanserra (Currently), & Evangeline Nightbane x Cassian (Eventually)
CONTENT WARNING: MFW, mentions of trauma.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hello everyone this is the second original character work that I will be writing. When I came up with this idea I only saw it as an original character storyline. Evangeline is somewhat based of a character I made at one point for a Steve Rogers fic that I used to have up on my wattpad account. On top of that this story will follow the first three books, Silver Flames will be a definite AU and will most likely only include Feyre's pregnancy line. Nesta will be mated to Mor in this version. Also I wanted to try writing in first person pov so that story will be in first person and eventually it'll switch back and forth between Evie and Cassian but as of right now it'll be Evie's pov.

Chapter 1
Tumblr media
The earliest memory I have is of Helion teaching me how to use my wings. I could conjure them through my magic, I didn’t understand how any of it worked, and Helion probably wasn’t the greatest teacher to be teaching me but he was better than my parents. Helion was more of a real father to me than my actual father had been. My mother and father had always told me that I was the first and only child they’d ever conceived, but I never believed them.
I don’t think Helion believed them either. But what could he do, what could I do? There were key reasons that I didn’t believe I was their child. I could conjure wings firstly, I had black hair and purple eyes, they’d often glow brighter when I used my powers. The Mother had gifted me with three separate powers. Two of them I adored more than anything, the other I wish was never gifted to me.
I have the ability to open portals, a fun one really except when I’d open portals to places I probably shouldn’t be even looking at. Next I learned that I can create any type of weapon𑁋shields included𑁋they are created through telekinetic energy that runs through me. And lastly I can read the minds of those around me. I’m not a Daemati, I’m sure it’d be a lot cooler than everyone’s constant thoughts pressing down on my own mind.
Being able to read every single thought as I pass by any Fae is insufferable. As a child it wasn’t so bad. I was focused on other stuff that would block out the incessant thoughts. I also didn’t understand my powers. I still don’t understand how any of them work, really, but I’ve managed to attempt to control two of the three at least for the time being. Being able to read everyone’s thoughts was truly a destructive power.
That’s how I found myself right now. I had heard my father and mother’s conversation, but I also heard their thoughts. They were going to hand me over to Amarantha, the High Queen of Prythian. I never liked the female, my parents spoke so highly of her. I didn’t understand how they were still in Helion’s Court. The only thing I knew that I could do was run, so that’s what I did.
Except I didn’t think it through so clearly. I was falling through the sky, trying to summon my wings. The portal I had opened, well it had decided to drop me from the sky. I was plummeting towards my death. This was how I would die. I, Evangeline Nightbane, would make contact with the ground and die. For a moment it seemed like an ok death, a great way to escape my parents before they’d even have a chance to hand me over to that hag Under the Mountain.
My eyes were closed, I couldn’t force them open if I tried to. I knew I was getting closer to the grassy lands. I knew my time was coming to an end soon enough. A gasp left my mouth, I didn’t feel the impact of the ground. Instead I felt arms tighten around my body. Then his thoughts hit me.
“Such a beautiful female.” He had thought to himself. I didn’t want to be hearing his thoughts, I didn’t want to hear how beautiful he thought I was. How he was thrilled he had caught me in time.
Taking in a breath of air I finally opened my eyes. I turned my head slightly, lifted my eyes and saw the male that had caught me in his arms. He had long red hair, his golden-brown skin really complemented his red hair. And his eyes, oh his eyes were so beautiful. They were covered under a fox mask, one eye is russet, and the other eye is gold. Those beautiful eyes stared back at me.
I had heard what Amarantha had done to the Spring Court, that’s how I knew where I was. His thoughts were weakened just like everyone else's had been, and it had been nice, a little bit peaceful if I’m being honest. But I could still hear all the thoughts. His and the High Lord’s were no different. I pulled myself from his grasp and hopped down on the grass, turning to look at the two males before I gave a bow.
My parents always told me that it was my duty to bow to those who were higher on the social chain than us. They were somewhat high on said chain but I was still taught to act a certain way, especially when we’d visit Beron Vanserra and his family. I didn’t understand why my parents weren’t trapped Under the Mountain like the others had been. Though they were probably conspiring with the High Queen and that’s why they had so much freedom.
I really wouldn’t put it past them, not with the things they’d managed to do to me as a child. I hate them, still do, so I’m happy to be here so long as the High Lord accepts my plea for his protection. I stood from my bow and glanced between the two males. They weren’t that far from their horses that I assumed they’d rode out here.
“Who are you?” The blond male questioned, coming to stand directly in front of me.
“Evangeline Nightbane, my Lord. I apologize, I didn’t mean to open a portal here. I was just trying to escape my parents. They were going to take me to the High Queen, I-I didn’t know what to do so I ran.”
Both males exchanged a glance with each other, their eyes fell back on me as I stood awkwardly in front of them waiting for them to either take me in or turn me away. I’m sure they were staring at my appearance. My black hair was a mess, dirt surly covered my face, and probably my neck, chest, and arms. I was wearing a gold dress that had been ripped at the bottom.
The dress I’d been wearing still hugged my body perfectly even if it was torn. I’m sure they could tell that I had come from the Day Court. Though it was lonely in that Court with everyone being trapped Under the Mountain. I was curious if they knew about who I was. I know that rumors had spread around Prythian about someone with my abilities existing. My parents had confirmed it to Amarantha, and she wanted to take my powers from me, she wanted to kill me for them. I knew it deep in my bones.
“Please, can I seek refuge here just until I figure out how to disappear for good.” I asked, hope, I’m sure was evident in my eyes.
“Such pretty eyes.” His thoughts had run into me again. Unknowingly I glared at the red head male.
“Of course you can stay, Evangeline.” The High Lord had finally spoken, his words were soft but stern. He held his hand out to me. I looked down at his hand hesitant to shake it, then I glanced up at his green eyes beneath the gold mask that covered his face. It was odd to see masks over their faces.
“Thank you…” I paused, realizing that I didn’t even know what to call him. I didn’t really know much about the other High Lord's my parents had neglected to inform me about. So really Helion and Beron Vanserra were the only ones I truly knew about. I didn’t even want to know the High Lord of Autumn.
He would make my life a living hell. I had heard that he had already been discussing marriage to one of his sons, Eris, I think. But then I guess Amarantha offered my parents something better. Or maybe she’d steal my powers and hand me over to the Autumn Court. Either way I knew I had to leave.
“Tamlin,” He said, green eyes still staring at me. “This is my emissary Lucien Vanserra.” I had shook Tamlin’s hand but hesitated with the red head male now known as Lucien, and a Vanserra at that.
“Vanserra?” I choked out, terrified of what he might do.
I think they could see the look evident on my face because Tamlin was the first to take action. “He won’t hurt you.” His voice was soft as he spoke to me.
I watched the two males turn and walk back towards their horses. They were speaking with each other but I wasn’t bothered enough to listen to their discussion. I watched them climb onto their horses, releasing a sigh, I followed behind them. I think once I was settled into the Spring Court I’d need to come out and explore. It was such a beautiful place and I didn’t want to be held up somewhere I didn’t know much about.
I walked up to the males, Lucien was holding his hand out for me to take. I was hesitating, trying to decide if it would be better to ride with Lucien or just walk. Tamlin was wondering why I wasn’t taking his friend’s hand and getting on the horse. Meanwhile Lucien was wondering what had happened to me for me to be this hesitant to accept his hand. In truth his father was Beron, and he was an asshole and despite what Tamlin had said I didn’t know if he could be trusted.
I tried to ignore their thoughts the best I could. Then I walked away from Lucien, ignoring him as I walked over to Tamlin. The High Lord held his hand out to me, I grasped a hold of his hand and climbed up onto the horse. I caught Tamlin glancing at Lucien, I took a chance and glanced at the other male to see a flustered look on his face as he stared at me. His thoughts were slightly louder than they had been. It was starting to give me a headache.
“I can hear your thoughts by the way.” I said, as the two steads took off through the grassy fields. “Not as loud as they used to be, but still.” I mumbled that last part hoping neither male had heard me but I wasn’t so sure. I had my hands wrapped around Tamlin’s waist and my head rested on his back. I was exhausted to say the least. I’d been running for at least a day and a half and this was the first time I could actually catch a breather.
Somewhere on the journey back I knew I had fallen asleep. I was uninterested in opening my eyes to see why we’d stopped moving. But then I felt someone wrap their arms around me and carry me. The arms were familiar, I knew I was in Lucien’s arms. His chest was so firm, and for some reason I wanted to see more of him. I felt a soft bed underneath my back, so I finally opened my eyes.
I turned slightly to look at Lucien who had been staring down at me. He had a soft look in his eyes as he gazed over me. His thoughts were all over the place, I didn’t know if it was a good thing or a bad thing. Though some part of me felt that it was in fact because of me. I swear at some point I’d seen lust in his russet eye. But I chose to ignore it.
“You’ll be safe here. We’ll make sure that Amarantha doesn’t find you.” He whispered. I couldn’t help the smile that tugged on my lips.
“Thank you.” I sighed contentedly while Lucien started to back away from the bed he’d placed me on. His eyes were still on me though.
“Dinner will be in a few hours. Tamlin expects you to join us.”
“Will you be the one to get me?” I asked, a devious smirk replacing the smile on my lips as I stared at the male before me. It’s funny that Lucien was thinking of my beauty when he held me in his arms while Tamlin had been concerned about where I’d come from. I knew then and there that I’d be able to have some fun with the male, and I’m sure he’d enjoy it just as much.
“If it’s what you desire, then yes, I’ll be back here in a few hours to bring you to dinner.”
“Wonderful.” I sent a nod his way, then turned on my side and closed my eyes waiting for him to leave my newly appointed room. I figured it would be good to get some more sleep. As I drifted off to sleep I started to hope that maybe this could be my home for good.
───── ❝ ◂ ❚ ⊱ꕥ⊰ ❚ ▸ ❞ ─────
I’m awake now, I think I only got an hour of sleep. Something rustled outside the window which prompted me to wake. I think I’ve been standing by the window looking out of it for some time now. When I heard the noise my first thought was that my parents had found me and that they were coming to take me home. I couldn’t shake the feeling that was settling in the pit of my stomach. So I backed away from the window and closed it hoping no one could see into it.
I needed to move the bed away from the window, it was too close for my liking. If my parents were truly here they could break into the window and take me away. I pulled a piece of rope from my pocket that was on my dress. I still had yet to change out of it. With the string I pulled my hair back and proceeded to tie it so it was out of my way while I moved the bed to the other side of the room.
I didn’t know how much time had passed, suddenly the door was open and Lucien was standing in the open door way. “What are you doing, Evangeline?” The way he had said my name had sparked something inside me.
“I’m just moving my bed.” I put my focus back on the bed and continued to move it to the other side of the room. I could tell that Lucien was curious. He didn’t need to think it for me to see it evident on his face when I briefly looked at him.
“Why exactly are you moving the bed?” He was so serious as he had asked the question.
I sighed, pulled away from the bed and glared at the male. I understand that he wanted to know but I wasn’t so sure I could trust him yet. He was a Vanserra after all. Maybe I could tell him about this feeling I had.
“I heard a noise outside my window. I was afraid that it was my parents.” The fear was evident in my voice. This had caught Lucien’s attention. I now wished I had just kept my mouth shut. I was good at that, keeping quiet and listening to everything.
“I’m sure it was just an animal.” Of course he would think that. And maybe he was right, maybe my mind was playing tricks on me but I wasn’t taking a chance.
“Why are you here anyway?” I asked, shifting the conversation to something else. I needed to move on from the topic. Thinking about the possibility of my parents finding me was starting to bring the headache back.
“Dinner is ready. I would advise you to change into something clean as well as clean up your appearance.”
I held my hand down by my side, attempting to control the telekinetic energy buzzing around inside me.
“Fantastic.” I paused, taking in a deep breath before exhaling it. “If you’ll be so kind as to wait outside so I can get changed that would be much appreciated, Lucien.”
The male released a small growl, I only smirked and walked over to the armoire. It was closest to the door. I could move it in front of the door but then my chances of escape would be slim. So I’d keep it where it stood. Opening the door I saw different shades of dresses. I settled on one that was a light green, pink flowers rested at the top of the dress.
So far I had only ever worn Day Court colors, I was looking forward to being able to wear Spring Court colors. Walking over to the sink I turned the water on and started to wash my skin off so I looked more presentable. Lucien had a point, and I needed to look my best if I truly wanted to stay here. I pulled my black locks back and separated my hair in half to braid it. Finally I changed into the dress I had picked out.
I took a final look in the mirror and for the first time in a really long time I believed that I could be happy here. Walking back out to the bedroom I see the door is now closed. I could hear his thoughts, and again he was so curious about who I was. My hand found the door handle and I pulled it open. Lucien turned, smirked, and led me down the hallway towards the dining area.
The High Lord was already seated at the head of the table. Lucien walked over to a chair and pulled it out for me. I thanked him as I sat in the chair. Lucien walked around and sat down across from me. I glanced down at the food, I knew I should eat the meat, and veggies but for the life of me I didn’t know if I had an appetite to hold anything down.
“Evangeline.” Tamlin was the first to speak since the dinner had started. His green eyes were plastered on me. I reached for the wine that was sitting next to my food. After taking a gulp of the wine I pulled it away from my lips and stared back at the High Lord.
“Please, call me Evie.” Tamlin gave a nod of his head, his blond locks following his movement. I looked to Lucien who also sent me a nod.
“Evie.” Tamlin corrected himself before continuing. “You fell from a portal. How is that possible?”
“Portals… Yeah. That’s one of my abilities.” I started to swirl the wine around afraid of where this conversation would go. Lucien definitely was uncomfortable with the direction the question was heading.
“One of them?” He proceeded to ask.
“Yes, one of them.” I could tell that he wanted to know more about what I could do. Maybe he thought that I’d be useful to him in the future. Maybe he’d turn around and use me against Amarantha. I held my breath hoping he’d move on to ask me something else.
“You said you were running from your parents, why?” This question was a lot harsher than I had thought it would be.
I closed my hand and pushed my nails into the skin of my palm. This male whom I’d met only a few hours ago was already trying to learn everything about me. This is not what I had in mind when I had asked for refuge. I could feel the tears threatening to fall down my face.
“They hurt me in ways parents should never do. If I’d stayed any longer with them they would’ve given me over to Amarantha who would’ve killed me for my powers. Or they likely would’ve accepted Beron’s proposal to have me marry his eldest son Eris. Neither of those options worked for me. So I did the only thing I knew I could do, I ran. That is why I am here, High Lord.”
I slammed my hands on the table and stood up pushing the chair back. Before either male could object I stormed out of the room heading back to my room. The door slammed behind me and I walked into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. The last thing I wanted to do was talk about any of this, eventually the longer I’m here Tamlin and Lucien will start to ask more questions.
I’m not ready to talk about what my parents did to me. I don’t want to talk about what they would’ve done had I still been there. I just want to move on from it. Wiping the tears that had managed to fly down my face I pull back from the mirror and walk out of my room. Then I moved down the hallway. However I came to a quick stop when I heard another voice. Without thinking I took a step into the room.
There was a male in the room with his back to me. He had short black hair. It was the same color as mine. All my life I hadn’t seen anyone else with black hair like his. He stood tall as he talked to Tamlin who seemed to have an annoyed look on his face. His thoughts confirmed that he was annoyed with the male. Lucien seemed as though he didn’t want to be here. But he was the first to notice my appearance.
He stands up quickly, his eyes on me as he walks over to me. His hand reaches for my elbow and he stands in front of me. The other male turns around, he has violet eyes. Almost the same shade as mine, only darker.
“Who are you hiding, Lucien?” He questioned. I wanted to know who he was just as much as he wanted to know who I was. His thoughts were quieter than Lucien and Tamlin’s. But I knew he could sense something. His thoughts were giving him away. I moved past Lucien to get a better look at the male, it happened so quickly.
We all watched as he gasped suddenly. His face had gone pale, like he’d seen a ghost from his past. Then he was gone. He just disappeared. Now I was even more confused than before.
“Who was that?” I asked, stepping towards Tamlin.
“That was Rhysand, the High Lord of the Night Court.”

Tumblr media
You’d been a member of the Night Court since you were born. With friends such as Rhysand, Cassian, and Azriel you were able to escape Illyria before they had a chance to clip your wings. You’d found your family became of those three males. You were an emissary to the Night Court, often traveling between Courts to form a bond to have an ally in any future war. The Autumn Court and Spring Court were courts you often avoided if you could.
You knew the history between Rhys and Tamlin and couldn’t stand the male. You didn’t get along with Beron in the least. Always trying to defy what he wanted to do. One High Lord in particular had caught your attention. Helion had taken the opportunity to get to know you, he’d befriended you and whenever you visited his Court it was hard for your friends to separate you from him.
Before Amarantha happened they could see the love that was there between you and Helion. Rhys kept quiet, as did the others but they knew something would happen between you and Helion eventually. When they were trapped Under the Mountain and you were locked up in Velaris everything had changed for you. You’d become a shell of your former self and even when Prythian had been free at the hands of a human who risked her life in the process and died, you still hadn’t managed to pull through.
The months leading to the return of Rhys you started seeing Helion again, slowly but surely becoming yourself again. It was even more of a reason that Rhys and all your other friends believed that you and Helion were mates. But there wasn’t time to say anything right now with a fight on its way. The war had been fought and won. Rhys had died in the process only to be brought back.
Everything seemed to be right in Prythian. After the way you’d stayed with Vassa and Jurian to help rebuild whatever was left standing. You’d found a friendship with the two, and eventually Lucien when he joined them. Upon returning back from the work you’d helped with in the Human lands Helion had requested that you become his emissary for the Day Court.
Helion had seen how much you’d managed to accomplish in the months after the war against Hybern was over. He knew you’d be a great addition to his court, he also knew you’d look better in Day Court colors. After a talk with Rhys and Feyre, your High Lord and High Lady you had their approval. You said your goodbyes to your family, promising to come visit whenever you could and you left.
It had been 10 years since the events of the war. Things were steady now. You had everything you ever wanted, accepted you knew there was still something missing from your life. When Feyre and Rhys invited you and Helion to join them in Velaris for an outing, you couldn’t say no to them. Helion had agreed, though there wasn’t much you’d have to say to convince the male to go with you.
He enjoyed being wherever you were, so if you want to go see your family he’d follow along with you. The night had started out wonderful, you and Helion had met up with Rhys and Feyre as a casual get together, but they had other plans in mind. The mated couple was going to get you and Helion together by the end of the night. They still didn’t understand how either of you could’ve gone this long being so oblivious to the fact that you and Helion were in love with each other.
Helion couldn’t bring himself to admit it, he was afraid to lose you as a friend or worse to someone else. Meanwhile you were afraid of his rejection. He was a High Lord after all so he’d have every right to say no to you if you’d so much as mention your affections for him. The four of you sat at a table in a restaurant in Velaris. You’d given Feyre an odd look when she had mentioned that this was a double date.
You had finished your food, your eyes were on Helion as he talked to Rhys and Feyre about something. You weren’t sure what he was talking about. You’d been so focused on his face that his words slipped right through your ears. You blinked, finally taking notice that all eyes were on you. Suddenly you felt as though you’d miss something.
“Oh, you did, sister.” Rhys whispered in your mind. You glared at him, throwing your shields up to block him.
“I’m sorry, what are we talking about?” You asked softly, not looking at Helion, afraid that you’d disappointed him by missing something so important.
“I was just wondering if you’d be coming to see the rest of the family later tonight, maybe bring Helion.” Feyre said, her eyes planted on you. A smirk rested on her lips. You knew that she was having a mind conversation with Rhys.
“Oh, I’m sure Helion wants to head back home soon, so maybe another time.” You didn’t miss the way Helion had smirked at your comment.
“Nonsense, I think we can stay a little bit longer.” Helion remarked, a smile on his lips. You gripped your drink, sipping the wine slowly.
“Great.” Feyre said excitedly.
“Maybe we can even get you two together.” Rhys said, causing you to choke on your wine. You put your glass down, attempting to stop the coughing fit.
Finally you were able to get words out. “We’re just friends, Rhys.” You said, and it was a simple answer. Feyre and Rhys had caught the look of hurt that had crossed Helion’s face when those words had slipped from your lips.
“Yes, we’re just friends.” You winced, it was almost like Helion had been hurt by your choice of words. You felt you couldn’t breathe, you were being suffocated by everything around you. This was not what you’d expected to happen tonight.
“Excuse me, I need some air.” You were quick to get up and leave the restaurant before any of them could protest. The cool air hit your skin when you walked out the door. You walked down to the bridge that overlooked Velaris and the Sidra river.
More than anything you wanted to be with Helion, you knew you’d been in love with him for so long. So why did your words affect him so much, you were so certain that he didn’t feel the same way about you. That you were just an Illyrian female he wanted to bed. Your wings moved in closer to protect you from any passersby as you let the tears fall down your face.
“So that’s what I am to you, a friend?” His voice was cold, distant as the question left his mouth.
You didn’t answer, couldn’t answer. Not when you were still crying over what had happened. You should’ve known that Helion would chase after you.
“I didn’t mean it to come out that way.” You said, pulling your wings back and tucking them in tightly as you turned to look at the male.
“Then how did you mean it?”
“I just, I mean we are friends. There’s nothing between us so why does it matter?” You were really hurting him, you knew that.
“Because.” He whispered softly.
“Because isn’t an answer.” You watched as he walked closer to you, closing the space between you and him. His hand gently touched your cheek. You looked at him with a glimmer of hope, of love in your eyes.
“Because I love you, I have loved you since I first met you. I have loved you since I discovered you were my mate. And I will continue to love you until it is my time to leave this world behind.”
You felt your heart picking up its pace at his words. You could hear the honesty coming from him. And then it happened, you felt it, that gold string tie around your heart. You gasped, your hand flying to your chest as you felt the strength of the bond pick up between you and Helion. Finally he smiled, still looking at you.
“But all this time, you, you were seeing other’s.” You felt yourself cracking waiting for his answer.
“It was just for a fun time. I may bring other lovers into our bed, but they will never be able to replace anything. I fell for you, my sunshine. You are the light in my life that I’ve been waiting so long for.” You released a broken laugh, tears falling down your face. “Please don’t cry my love.” He whispered as he kissed the tears away.
“I’m just so happy.” You whispered, pushing your hands into his wavy hair. “Because I've loved you since the moment I met you too. And I am so thrilled to be your mate.” He smiled at your words and brought his lips to yours kissing you softly. Cheering could be heard in the background. You and Helion pulled apart from each other to look at your family that had been nearby.
“I think it worked, Feyre, darling.” Rhys said, as the mated couple walked towards you and Helion.
A smile rested on your lips and you pushed yourself closer to Helion as he wrapped his hand around your waist. It was the happy ending you’d been looking for, your mate. And now that you’d discovered everything that happened between you and him was the bond’s way of informing you, you couldn’t be more happy.
“I hate you all.” You whispered, resting your head on Helion’s chest.
“I don’t think so. If it hadn’t been for them inviting you to dinner neither of you would’ve known.” Cassian remarked, a smirk playing on his lips.
“Not true, General. I’ve always known about the bond.” At this you looked up at Helion.
“Why didn’t you say anything?” You asked him.
“I didn’t want to risk our friendship in case I was wrong, or the Mother was wrong, or something happened. So many reasons, and I just don’t care because I have you now and that’s all that matters.” He placed a kiss on your head.
“No more lies, promise?” You whispered.
“No more lies, I promise.” The bargain was set, a slight sting of pain ran through your forearm as a bargain tattoo was crafted. The night sky mixed with the sun. A bargain between you and your mate. The happiest of endings, one you were so thankful for.

Eris made it outside, he stopped where you were supposed to be. The only trace that you were there was your smell. He turned around in a circle looking trying to figure out where you’d gone. Suddenly he was thrown back against the wall with a knife to his throat again.
“Where is she, what did you do with her?” Azriel’s voice was stone cold as he held his blade to Eris’s throat. The rest of the Night Court was now outside looking between the two males.
“Azriel, let go of him.” Rhys commanded.
He struggled but he eventually did pull back from Eris. The male felt his side of the bond, it was glowing and strong, but there was nothing from your side of the bond. He wondered if it was because you and him hadn’t quite accepted the bond in a traditional way.
“What’s wrong?” Feyre asked, taking the look of fear on his face.
“I can’t feel her.” Eris cried out.
“What do you mean?” Rhys proceeded to ask.
“I can’t feel my mate, I can’t feel her through the bond.” Then he paused, he knew what had happened. He collapsed to the ground. “My father. He took Y/N.” The words struck each member of the Night Court. Eris then looked up at Rhys. “I think it’s time I call in for some help.”
───── ❝ ◂ ❚ ⊱ꕥ⊰ ❚ ▸ ❞ ─────
Four long months had passed, you weren’t in the Autumn Court. That much was clear. You were on land that he owned, you wanted to believe that you were in the human lands. You knew that was a lie. You knew exactly where you were because while you had access to your power you couldn’t do anything else.
You couldn’t feel the bond to Eris, if there even was something you could hold on to. Beron had spent the last four months forcing you to torture people against your own will. If you failed to do so it was a beating, or a burning, or worse. He’d have one of his guards cut your body. That was worse than the burns and the beating.
Currently you were lying on the floor, some of the cuts on your body were fresh and still bleeding. You were in the same outfit you’d been in the day that Beron had taken you away from everyone. The dress had been ripped in certain places but the touch of a knife. The door’s opened and you slowly looked up to see Beron staring down at you.
“Get up, Empath.” His voice was stern. You followed, fearing what might happen today if you didn’t listen to him. You kept your eyes down, your arms to your side as you followed him down the hallway to another room. The door opened and Beron looked at you.
“What do I need to do?” You asked in a quiet voice.
“You're going to find out the same thing you’ve been searching for the last 4 months. I need to find that stone.” Beron told you.
You gave him a nod and walked into the room. Beron had been searching for a stone that would allow him to further gain the power that he was losing. His son was itching to take over his throne; he could feel it. He needed access to that stone, though from what you’d gathered the stone wasn’t for him it was for you.
The stone would allow you to amplify your powers as an Empath. You weren’t sure what it would do to you or for you but you knew it wouldn’t do Beron any good. The door was closed and Beron disappeared leaving to do the thing you hated most right now.
───── ❝ ◂ ❚ ⊱ꕥ⊰ ❚ ▸ ❞ ─────
Azriel landed outside Tamlin’s mansion. The High Lords and Ladies had been here coming up with a game plan trying to figure out where Beron had taken you. Azriel had discovered where you were, and he was going to deliver the news to your sisters and your mate. He as well as Nesta and the others had learned to put what happened aside.
Eris couldn’t sleep much less have the energy to argue with any of the Inner Circle about his almost non existent relationship with you. But the second he had you in his arms he’d take you away from them. He hoped that you wanted to accept the bond, because he was itching to do so. Azriel walked into the mansion and headed towards Tamlin’s war room. Eye’s found him when he opened the doors and stood there searching for Eris.
“I know where Y/N is.” Azriel said, speaking to Eris.
“Where?” Eris asked.
“He’s taken her to Hybern. He’s looking for a stone.” Azriel walked to the edge of the table.
“Why? What stone?” Tarquin asked.
“According to legend there is a stone out there that can heighten any power. Except when we were learning more about Empaths we discovered that this stone is solely for an Empath.” Feyre explained looking around the room.
“So, Y/N can heighten her power?” Lucien asked, looking at his friend.
“Apparently.”
“We won’t let that happen.” Eris said, looking at Feyre. “She won’t touch that stone, I won’t let her.”
“What happens if she gets a hold of the stone?” Helion went on to ask.
“She could kill everyone.” Rhys said calmly.
“Let’s go then, before she finds out where the stone is.” Nesta spoke. Eris was the first to winnow away. The others followed behind him.
───── ❝ ◂ ❚ ⊱ꕥ⊰ ❚ ▸ ❞ ─────
You stood next to Beron in the middle of the horrid wasteland in the human realm. You had located the stone and you were going to dig it up and use it against Beron before he could figure out that he couldn’t use it. Then you were going to find out how to get back to your mate. Four months was too long for you to be away from him.
You were itching to accept the bond now more than ever. The two of you stood in the woods in the dead of night. You could feel the stone calling out to you. Beron had a few members of his guard with him as well just in case someone might attack.
“Come find me my darling Empath.” The voice called out to you. It was such a beautiful voice you wanted to follow it but not with Beron still by your side. He started talking to his guards, sending them off, all except two.
“One goes with you, the other stays here with me. You will find that stone and bring it back.” You didn’t answer him so Beron warmed his hand and grabbed a hold of your bare arm. Pain ran through your body as you looked down at where his hand was.
“Ow.” You cried out, and that only made his grip tighter on your arm. Then another warmed hand reached your other arm. The pain was getting worse and you tried to pull away. You couldn’t handle it anymore, you let everything out. The male fell to the ground along with the others, then you took your chance and ran.
The stone was humming as you ran closer and closer. You were gasping for air, your lungs on fire. The pain from Beron’s touch still hurting and rushing through your body. You were feeling dizzy and needed to get to that stone so you could use it to kill Beron and his men. Suddenly a body collided with yours. You hit your head on a rock when you made an impact with the ground.
A male pushed your shoulders down, reached for a knife and held it to your skin by your chest. A wicked smile brushed his lips as he stared down at you. The moonlight was bright and shining down on the two of you.
“I’ve been waiting so long to do this.” He leaned down closer to you, the blade touched your skin that wasn’t covered by the dress. He started to pull the blade back, cutting into your skin.
“Ah.” You cried out, closing your eyes as tears started to spring free.
“Such pretty cries.” He pulled the blade up to your neck and cut again, blood was falling from the freshly cut wounds. Then he moved to your right arm just above the handprint. The blade touched your skin, you had enough. You reached for something, anything that would help get this male. You mostly felt dirt underneath your hands, but then, a rock.
You weren’t sure if it was the one that you’d fallen on but you grabbed it and swung it into the head of the male. He fell off you with a scream dropping the knife next to your body. With a groan you picked yourself up from the ground reaching for the knife and held it tightly. The male was stopped by a tree. He started to pick himself up so you followed behind picking yourself up and running towards him.
The knife made contact with his chest and he stared straight at you. A groan left his mouth, the last sound he’d make. “Such pretty cries.” You remarked pulling the blade out and stabbing him again. He slumped forward and fell to the ground. You turned from the male and continued running through the woods until you felt a sense of relief.
The stone was glowing bright underneath the ground but you didn’t need to see it to know where it was. Falling to your knees you used your hands to dig the dirt up. As you got closer to the stone the glow started to show. Finally you were looking at it entirely. Your hand reached out for it.
“You’ve found me, Empath.” The voice said, happiness evident.
You could feel your power coursing through you, so strong, so powerful. “Give it here, Empath.” You stood deathly still hearing Beron’s voice. You turned slightly to look back at the High Lord.
“No.” You breathed out softly. “It doesn’t belong to you.”
He grunted, and started to move closer to you. You wanted to panic, you hadn’t trained with Cassian and Azriel, and your sister and friends for four months. You knew everything was still in there but you knew what you needed to do. You stepped forward, and took off running into the male knocking him back slightly.
He smirked at you. “Is that the best you can do, Empath?” He was starting to get on your nerves.
“Stop calling me Empath. I have a name.” You moved closer and punched him in the face. Then you pulled your hand back again and did the same thing over and over dropping the stone in the process. You didn’t know where the energy had come from but it was there. You felt Beron reaching for something, you grabbed a hold of his wrist and snatched what he had gone for.
It was another knife in your hands, you looked up at Beron to see the fear and panic in his eyes as he looked at you. A smirk graced your lips as you pulled your hand back and held it in the air but didn’t make a step to do anything.
“I’ve heard so much about you from my family. The rumors were true considering everything you’ve done to me in the span of four months. But I’ll make this very clear, High Lord. You will never ever harm another soul again, and you will never hurt your wife, or your sons again.”
You brought the knife down into his chest. You didn’t stop, tears streamed down your face, cries leaving your mouth. Suddenly hands wrapped around you, panic covered your body and you screamed at the top of your lungs. You were pulled away from Beron’s lifeless body.
“I’m here my love.” His voice, his handsome voice ran through your ears. You opened your eyes and saw Eris. His amber eyes, his red hair, his beautiful face. His hands were on your face. “It’s okay.” He told you. You could feel the gold bond singing so brightly. You hugged him tightly and cried into his chest.
The others stood around, they watched the scene unfold. Rhysand had seen you kill Beron. He was with Eris when you’d done it. He watched the power transfer over to Eris now that Beron was no longer alive. In just this moment alone, seeing Eris hold onto you in the middle of the woods, in the middle of the night, he knew that the Mother had blessed you with the right mate. Eris pulled back to look down at you.
“I want to accept the bond.” You whispered, but it was loud enough that not only had he heard it but everyone else that was there had heard it too.
“We will, but right now I want to take you home and clean you up. Can I do that, Little Fox?” He asked. You only nodded. Eris looked up at Rhys, he gave a nod and the two of you disappeared. He took you back to your home, not his.
“Why?” You asked, as you looked around in the familiar room. Your room.
“I thought you’d be more comfortable here than at my home. When you’ve healed I will take you, don't worry.” You gave a nod. He walked out of your room and into the bathroom while you sat down on the bed.
It felt uncomfortable to be on the bed so you stood back up and stood in the center of the room. Four months was too long for you, everything felt too comfy for you. A knock on the door indicated that someone was outside. You still stood there, Eris entered your bedroom briefly glancing at you and taking notice of your posture. He opened the door, Rhys and Feyre were there with their healer.
He stepped aside and the three walked in. Madja walked over to you while Rhys and Feyre stood with Eris. They were huddled in a circle while Madja was taking a look over you. Feyre placed her eyes on Eris.
“Has she said anything?” The High Lady questioned, concerned running from her voice.
“No, not really. She was confused why I brought her here and not to Autumn.” Eris explained.
“Do you mind if I go talk to her?” Rhys asked the male that would be his brother-in-law soon enough. Eris gave a nod of his head and Rhys walked away from them. He moved over to Madja who was still examining you. Your eyes found Rhys as he stepped near you.
“Can you show me everything that happened, Y/N?” He asked in your mind.
“Why? I-I can’t.” You whispered back to him, eyes pleading with him.
“I need to know what happened, Y/N. I need to know what Beron did to you.” His voice wasn’t cold but concerned. It had been so long since you’d seen Rhys show this side to you. It was almost like he was angry with what had happened to you. “It’s because I am. I told Feyre that I would keep you safe from that male. That I wouldn’t let him take you away from her again. It broke me to see Feyre cry herself to sleep because you were missing. I failed you, and I can never take that back. But I can learn from what Beron did, and Eris and I can find a way to prevent someone from taking you away from all of us again.”
You looked at him, your mouth gaping as the words came out. So you nodded your head, you let your mental shield down and allowed Rhys to enter. You showed him everything that happened after you had fallen out of the window. Tears fell down your face by the time he left your mind. Madja was almost finished, he walked over to Feyre and Eris and shared everything with them.
You stood still in the middle of the room as Madja left you and walked over to the High Lord and Lady and the newly appointed High Lord. All eyes were on her as she looked around at the three of them.
“I was able to heal the cuts left on her body, the recent ones,” Eris looked at you, a pained look on his face. “I was able to heal the recent burn marks as well. From what I could tell she had no broken bones. However, there is a lot of trauma she will have to work through. I think it's best that she stays here in the Night Court until she’s healed enough from the trauma.”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea, Madja.” Rhys mentioned. The female healer looked at her High Lord. “Eris, will have to go back to his Court eventually, she won’t do good with the separation. She spent four months locked away from Eris.”
“Very well. But she will still need a support system in Autumn. Whoever she’s close with, excluding her mate, she needs them there at least every other day in order to heal.”
Feyre gave a nod of her head. “We’ll set up a schedule. We’ll make sure someone is with her every other day.” Eris gave a nod in agreement. Madja smiled then excused herself. Feyre and Rhys eyed Eris as he stared at you.
“We’ll let you take care of her, if you need anything just let us know.” Rhys said, as he and Feyre walked over to the door. Eris moved over to you, he placed a gentle hand on your elbow. He didn’t miss the way you jumped at the touch.
“It’s just me, I promise you’ll be safe.” His voice echoed through your ears. You forced a smile to your lips but Eris noticed that it wasn’t reaching your eyes. “Do you want me to help you clean up?” He asked tenderly. You only gave a nod of your head, you were finding words hard to speak.
Eris gently walked you into the bathroom. He helped you undress, helped you climb into the tub. Once you were in you pulled your knees to your chest. Eris rolled his sleeves up, he sat on his knees and started to clean your body.
“Do you want to talk about what happened?” Eris questioned, breaking the silence that had been filling the room.
“When can we go to your home? I mean, is that… Who is taking over his Court?” Finally you had spoken, it was slightly chipped and broken but Eris only wanted you to talk. At least then you wouldn’t be stuck in your head.
“I am.” He had said it with so much pride, and it made your heart beat faster. Without realizing it you had sent a wave of love down the bond. Eris felt it as he brought a brush to your hair to get the knots out.
“How?”
“Rhys and I, we were in the woods. We got there when you killed him, his power transferred over to me. I was shocked, but I didn’t have time to register what had happened because you needed me. I needed you to know that I was here, that I had found you.”
Finally you turned in the tub and stared up at your mate. “I’m sorry you saw that, me killing your father.”
“Don’t be, Little Fox. He was going to die anyway, Rhys and I had been working together the last 6 years to come up with a plan to overthrow the male. While I hate that he’s brought so much trauma to you, I am so beyond grateful that you were able to take a piece from him by killing him.”
A soft smile graced your lips, and this time it reached your eyes. Eris released a small breath, he knew that these next few months were going to be long. When you were finished in the bath Eris helped you out, dried your body and put clothes on. He carried you over to the bed and climbed in with you. Eris held you close to his body, his heat radiating off him and onto you.
At some point you and Eris had fallen asleep, Eris still held tightly on you. Nightmares were plaguing your mind. The pain that Beron had caused you, the pain that his men inflicted when Beron was to bored to torture you himself. You were shaking, sweat falling down your body. But worst of all you couldn’t escape the never ending nightmare.
Eris woke up to your screams echoing the room. He grabbed a hold of your body, warming his hands hoping it might help. That move only made you panic internally, you didn’t know how to control the new strength of your powers. Eris could feel the pain you were inflicting on him. He groaned trying to get past it so he could help you. He pulled his hands back from your skin, moved away from your body.
The pain was still there but the further away he was the better he got. “Rhys.” He called out, hoping the Daemati would hear his call. Moments later the door opened, Feyre and Rhys ran into the room with Azriel right behind him.
“What’s happening?” Feyre asked, walking towards her sister.
“No. Don’t get closer to her.” He whispered as he moved around the room and pulled Feyre back from you.
“What? Why?” The panic was evident in the High Lady’s voice as she looked at Eris.
“I believe that she can push her emotions out and use them as a weapon.” He paused, glancing around the room before his eyes finally landed on your body. You were still shaking, soft echoes of screams leaving your throat. He pulled his amber eyes away from you and looked at Rhys. “She touched that stone and amplified her powers. I tried to wake her up, but she was shielding herself against me and it hurt.”
“Well, that’s new.” Rhys remarked, staring at his sister in-law.
“What are we going to do then?” Azriel questioned.
“You have to go into her mind. I’m starting to wonder if she actually showed you everything that happened.”
“What are you saying?” Rhys asked, concerned in his voice.
“I’m saying that whatever is causing this, it’s worse than what she showed us, which means she didn’t show you everything.”
“I will put her to sleep. In the morning we’ll come up with a plan.”
Everyone agreed with the idea. Rhys moved as close as he could. He slipped into your mind, it was utter chaos and didn’t know where to go. Eris watched as Rhys stood still doing what his power allowed him to do. Finally Rhys pulled back and looked at them.
“She’s asleep. Her mind, it was chaos, all over the place.” Rhys paused, violet eyes landing on Feyre as he said his next words. “It looks like they tortured her with the memories of the Cauldron. All that work we did with her, to help heal her it’s gone. All gone.” Rhys wanted to fall to the ground, he truly felt that he had failed you.
“That’s not possible.” Feyre said.
“Beron, he knew how to break through any trauma and use it against them. That’s probably what he did with her. He somehow made her believe that she’d probably go back into the Cauldron if she failed.”
“This is a lot worse than we thought.” Rhys whispered. He looked to his brother. “Your only mission is to find out what exactly Beron did to Y/N. I will talk to Helion and see if there's anything further that might help. We will figure this out.”
Feyre and Eris gave a nod of their heads, but they had their eyes on you. You were calm now, you looked so peaceful. Eris walked away from them, climbed into the bed and pulled you close to his body. He wrapped his arms around you and rested his chin on top of your head.
“We’re going to figure this out, Little Fox. I promise.” He whispered, not sure if you could truly hear him. The others took that as a sign and stepped out of the room leaving you with your mate. Tomorrow would be another day, and soon enough everything would be figured out.
