Haven’t been on here in a while but since there’s nothing much to do these days I thought I’d stop by. I’ve been working on some things at home and have been trying out products I’ve saved up at home. One thing I haven’t used in a while is mascara. It’s been so long and I’m. It very good at curling my lashes. Years ago I made a post here using different mascaras. I feel like it’s time for me to try some new ones and possibly some old ones to try and find a mascara for myself. My question to you guys is, do you have a favorite waterproof mascara or is there one you’ve been dying to try? I have short straight lashes as well as oily lids so I need it to be waterproof.

Ebates

Haven’t been on here in a while but just thought I’d let you guys know about Ebates. Ebates is a site that allows you to get cashback on your online purchases. Skincare Routine Update May 2016

So before we get into this let me tell you a bit about my skin. I started getting acne my freshman year in high school, it wasn’t too bad because really only got about 1-2 pimples every once in a while. At the end of my sophomore year I started to break out so much that I started wearing makeup to cover it up. I am now 24 and still struggle with acne and after trial and error have found the products that work for me.

My skin is currently acne prone, sensitive, and very oily.

Now, on to the update. First 2 photos you see here are from 2 years ago I believe, this is around the time I started this blog. (Sorry about the photo quality)

Next, these 2 photos are from about a year ago, I had a different skin care routine which also worked well for me. What you see here is mostly left over acne scars. I also have a post with the products I had used at the time if you want to check that out.

Here is my current skin. My dark spots are almost completely gone, any dark spots you might see here are new because I did neglect washing my face a few times. I still have a lot of pitted scars which makes it look like I have huge pores but it has improved a lot with the help of the Banishacnescars dermaroller which I can make a post about if you’d like to know more about it.

The products in bold letters are the ones I feel made the biggest difference on my skin. If I don’t use these products I can immediately feel the difference.

March Ipsy Glam Bag

Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I posted anything here but I’m back and have some new subscriptions to show you guys. The upcoming posts will be from March and I also have some things to review that include some Korean products as well. I also have a skin update and new skincare routine update.

So for those who don’t know and/or are not familiar with the Ipsy Glam Bag it is a monthly subscription service where you pay $10 and get 4-5 products.

March’s theme was Hello Spring and came in this cute bag. I will be reviewing products in their own posts

March’s Glam Bag was alright for me, first product here is the Beau Gachis Paris Eyebrow Brush. I don’t use eyebrow brushes but I will give this a try, the brush feels nice and soft and seems easy to control.

Next is the ModelCo Lip Lacquer Lip Gloss in the shade Socialite. I do not like Lip glosses but the shade is very pretty. I did not try this out because I’m planning on giving it away to someone else who does like it.

Here we have the Essence Cosmetics Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara. This is a tinted gel with tiny fibers for shaping and taming brows. It’s supposed to make brows appear fuller and defined.

Next is the ColourPop Cosmetics Highlighter in the shade Wisp. I do not use highlight because I have very oily skin but I do use it as an eyeshadow. It has a very subtle shimmer to it that helps brighten up the eyes and the application feels so smooth.

Last product here is the Global Beauty Care Dead Sea Wash Off Mask. This is a nice product that leaves your skin feeling soft, clean, and moisturized and comes in a squeeze packet which is so cute!

Review: Etude House I'm Blooming Moisture Cleansing Foam

So since the weather has been cold my my oily skin has started to flake ; which is a problem I never had before in this weather. Because of this I decided to try a moisturizing face wash because my other ones made it worse. I decided to try out the Etude House I'm Blooming Moisture Cleansing Foam. 

First thing I have to say about this product is look at that packaging! It is cute which is one of the reasons I really like Etude House.

Moisturizing

Does not give me any breakouts

Foams up nicely,not too much but just enough

Feels gentle on the skin

Does not leave that tight feeling on the skin

Doesn't seem to leave any residue

Today I received the Influenster JollyVoxBox and I am so excited to try out everything! 

The first thing in my box are these Skinny Cow Chocolates. They look delicious! I love Reese's so I can't wait to try these!.

Next is this tiny cute DuckTape. It's so cute.

Next is the Puffs Plus Lotion Travel Pack which I really have been needing. I tried these and they are great, normally I end up with this stinging feeling on my nose but since this has lotion on it and is so soft I had no problem.

Next up is the Rimmel London Show Off Lip Lacquer in Stargazer. I'm not a fan of using lip gloss or any lip product that will feel sticky on my lips so we'll see how this goes.

Last but not least, I got the NYC HD Color Trio Eyeshadow in Long Beach Sands which I really like because I'm more into the more neutral shades when it comes to shadows.

November Ipsy

Hello everyone! I'm super late on this and I'm so sorry. Semester is almost over and I've been so busy lately but I have managed to somewhat catch up and will be posting more stuff soon.So on to the post.

November's theme is Glam It Up.

This month we got this nice gold colored clutch-like bag.

I received the Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon in Shameless. Full size, $14. This is a very nice color.

Next is the BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Baked Eyeshadow Sample in Neptune. The full palette is $14.95

Next, Pixi Beauty Bronzer in Subtly Suntouched. $18 with kabuki brush. The brush was not included with the one we received from Ipsy.

Star Looks Gem Eye Pencil in Amethist. Full sized $14. My mom loves this Eye Pencil.

Everyone received a bonus product from Michelle Phan's new makeup line. I received EM Michelle Phan Lash Gallery Dramatic Volume Mascara. Full sized $20. Unfortunately only waterproof mascara works for me so I won't be able to use this.I like the simple packaging or her products.

Finally, I got the Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Lacquer in Champagne. Full sized $13

Mascara Reviews

Before I start let me tell you a bit about my lashes. I have short straight lashes that are so stubborn and cannot hold a curl especially with non-waterproof mascara. I have struggled with my lashes for years until about 4 years ago when I finally found one that works for me.

Before starting I just want you guys to know I am horrible at curling and applying mascara so any smudging is due to my lack of skill.

1. My favorite mascara is the Maybelline Define-A-Lash in black (Waterproof)

This mascara has a wet ans somewhat thick consistency. Comes with a nice flexible wand that does a nice job at separating lashes. This mascara is the lengthening mascara which also does a nice job at volumizing. I love that this mascara holds a curl and does not smear or leave clumps even in really hot weather.

2. Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume Mascara in Brownish Black(Waterproof)

With just one coat of mascara. Not much volume with just one light coat but if you add more it does a great job at volumizing and just like the lengthening Define-A-Lash it can really hold a curl. The packaging and brush is exactly the same as well. The Lengthening Define-A-Lash adds volume with less product than this one. 

3. Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express in Brownish Black(Waterproof)

This one does a good job at adding volume and it also lengthens. It can hold a curl for hours but eventually starts to loose it but not completely so it still looks decent. It can smudge a tiny bit but not too bad. Still worth buying in my opinion. (Good for those who already have curled lashes)

4. It’s So Big Volumizing Mascara by Elizabeth Mott (Sample from Ipsy)

This mascara didn’t do much for my lashes. This mascara added no volume, did not hold a curl at all and slightly lengthened. This is a good mascara for lower lashes though. (Good for those who already have curled lashes)

5. Pixi Lash Booster Mascara (Sample from Ipsy)

This mascara is very good, it lengthens, holds a curl and does not smudge. Does not add volume.

6. Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus

This is my second favorite mascara. This mascara use little micro-fibers to add length. It also does not smudge and holds a curl. (Based off the lower left pic.) If you use the right side you can add more volume, use the left side for just length. fibers

Review: Lioele Aroma Soft Peeling Gel

So a bit of background info: My skin got super flaky about 3 weeks ago and no matter what I did I could not get rid of it until I bought this product. This is the Lioele Aroma Soft Peeling Gel. So what it does according to the site where I bought it:

"This product controls dead skin cell and impurities of skin effectively by including natural cellulose which is organic pealing substance. It helps to speed-up the skin turnover cycle to make your skin clean and healthy. It also includes Vitamin A and E to promote skin softness."

First thing I noticed was how pretty the packaging was and after reading the description and some reviews I was convinced. 

This product is interesting because unlike other exfoliating products it does not scrub. What this does is as you massage it on the skin all the dead skin builds up into little eraser shaving looking stuff. The white stuff in the photo is what built up on the back of my hand after massaging for about 5 seconds. It works very quickly. After using this on my face it completely got rid of all the flakes that I had struggled with for the past 3 weeks! This product was moisturizing as well so for those who have dry skin this would be a really good product.
