Honestly I think a lot of "criticism" of tlt comes down to people assuming that everything presented in the text, especially everything spoken by characters or said by an unreliable narrator (which all three books have), is reflective of the opinions and intentions of the metaphysical Text itself, and by extension of the opinions and intentions of real human person Tamsyn Muir. See: People trying to claim that Tamsyn Muir, real human person!, is like Literally A Pedophile because no characters turn to the camera and explicitly say that Palamedes's weird pen pal thing with Dulcinea was Problematic And Bad, even though I think it's pretty normal to, as an author of a sci-fi novel for adults, assume that your audience will pick up on a 13-year-old writing love letters to a 20-year-old he has never physically seen is "weird." See also: People presenting the text as something that/Muir as someone who uncritically "support" the necro/cav binary, even though like honestly if you think about it for two seconds beyond "whoaaa cool space fights!" the sociopolitical commentary provided by the necro/cav binary is extremely, extremely clear. See also also: People who took John "nuked the world" Gaius at face value and assumed that either "yes of course the anti-imperial 'terrorists' described as such by John 'nuked the world' Gaius must be the bad guys" or "wow can you believe Tamsyn Muir literally thinks that if you're anti-imperialist you're a terrorist???" to be the takeaways from Harrow the Ninth. Idk people chuck around "media literacy" and "reading comprehension" a lot when explaining why they don't like tlt (because it dares to be funny sometimes, so clearly it's for mouth-breathing idiots), but so much "anti-tlt"posting displays such a blatant unwillingness to read below the surface and to understand how, like, books work? that it honestly starts to become funny. Displaying my superior media literacy and how much smarter I am than these Tumblrina philistines by not understanding the concept of "an unreliable narrator"

Based on what Tamsyn Muir said about Alecto “hopefully” being the last book. I wish I could tell her directly “Do it. If the story needs to be longer do it. Hell make an entire book about the Harrow Nova au cause it ties into some later arc. Take up space. Dominate the genre.So many male writers make 5-8 books about some fantasy/Sci-fi world cause they feel like they have the audience’s attention to do so. And to be completely honest Tamsyn Muir has my attention like no other. Like yes girl make me read 3 more books consisting of 500-600 pages. I am sat.
