Heyyy

On Saturday I had a huge day. Flight Centre NSW had their half-yearly conference and ball. It was my 1st half-yearly ball ever and it was crazy!

The day actually ended up being a lot of fun which is impressive when I had to be up at 6am! I met up with a few people from my area to get a ride out to the venue and the conference started at 8:30am.

I was so impressed we had breakfast, snacks and lunch provided at the conference. Walked into a massive hall with music and lights blasting. We got given updates on the area whats new and what to expect. We then split up into break out groups. I honestly thought most of these would be the same repetitive information but we played some fun games and they went over saying “yes” or having a “yes” attitude towards things. Even thought it was all work related it is really transferable into every day life.

My friend ended up winning a free entry into the 12 week challenge that the health department is running. She wasn’t going to do it so I happily took it. I guess we shall see how the next 12 weeks go!

It is so easy to become negative and get suck in a negative attitude that simply switching to more of a positive out look you really can change the outcome of things around you. Especially if you feel like you are starting to get in a rut.

The great things about this day is you get to catch up with people who you haven’t seen in ages. I got to catch up and hangout with a bunch of friends from my training days which I haven’t seen in months! It was great fun seeing how everyone was doing and what everyone was up to.

After the conference ended at around 5:30 we had some down time until the Ball started. The half-yearly ball is all about fun. We had a theme “countries of the world” and had to dress up as them. Our area picked Ireland which was interesting to dress up as. We ended up in black/brown shorts/skirts, white tops with green suspenders and bow ties and leprechaun hat headbands.

Every time I enter the venues I am blown away. It was a whole other level, live DJ, Lights, Bars, Tables, 1000’s of people all in one room celebrating people’s achievements over the past 6months. It is really a fun way to be able to celebrate everyone’s success.

It was one hell of a fun night and I have great memories of the days with everyone I got to spend the time with.

The small things in life keep a job interesting and events like these make our time so much more interesting and fun!

Christmas break
