Finwean Hair Headcannons bc I'm done my first year of uni!!

to celebrate, Finwean hair!!! Inspired by that one post by @thesummerestsolstice. I'm a really big fan

Finwë: Straight, straighter than straight, the direct opposite of any texture. Silkiest hair there ever was?

Fëanor: PIN STRAIGHT, like his father's, couldn't hold a curl for anything. Kind of saddens him that he doesn't have his mother's curls. If he couldnt have her, why couldn't he have more of her features.

Maedhros: Perfect waves all the time, with maybe a bit of a curl when wet. A deeper red than Nerdanel's, courtesy of them Finwean genes ^TM. Someone PLEASE give him a blowout it would be phenomenal

Maglor: 3a hair type. Had perfect ringlets as a child, but grew into the disheveled artist vibe, so it loosened a bit. Frizzes like mad in the proximityof anything resembling humidity. Teenage Maglor performing in Alqualonde had quite the time bc of that. ..

Celegorm: Copy Paste of Miriel's hair, but a deeper blonde, if only slightly.

Caranthir: a lighter shade than Fëanor's raven, maybe even a deep brown if you look at it in the right light, but also PIN STRAIGHT.

Curufin: similar to Fëanor's, but could hold a bit of a wave with copious use of hairspray and even then it might only be visible if you looked at it from a 37° angle.

Amrod: Nerdanel's hair 100000%, with maybe a teeny bit of a looser curl bc of them finwean genes

Amras: Strawberry blonde that goes heavy on the strawberry. No I will not elaborate, similar texture to Amrod's tho.

Fingolfin: A softer black than his brother's, with a solid wave to it.

Turgon: Similar to his father's, but a bit straighter. Often forgot to braid it before bed, so Gondolothrim who saw their their king in the early mornings saw some of the most impressive bedhead there ever was.

Fingon: looser curls than aredhel, but still has a good amount of texture to it (which helps with his braiding gold ribbons into it)

Aredhel: A fellow 4c girly 1000000%. Hair was closer to a brown, which confused some ppl but fuck it we ball.

Argon: Fingolfin's hair, but lighter, also closer to a brown than a classic Finwean black.

Finarfin: Blond Riglets through and through. Finwean genes had nothing on him, he took Indis' hair 10000%. If anything it was more of a deeper gold than hers. Also had wicked bedhead, but rocked it somehow??

Finrod: Finarfin's hair, but with a looser curl, and a much lighter blond.

Galadriel: Most ICONIC beach waves ever seen. Took Eärwen's hair texture, and a paler version of Finarfins hair colour, and became the embodiment of magic hair in Arda.

Angrod: Blond. Honestly that's all I got.

Aegnor: Closer to a honey blond than his brother, also got very nice waves.

Tra-La-La-Lally Day, created when they realized they somehow had a month with zero holidays. The festival focuses on getting drunk, singing, and lightly bullying anyone within earshot

Holidays relevant to any visitors or foster children

Numenorian holidays, because they caught Elrond celebrating alone and crying about Elros one (1) time and refuse to let him do it alone anymore

while calculations of what % of what elrond is are very funny i feel like we're sometimes missing the point. it's about identity. it's about culture. it's about what is interesting for the context of a specific fic or discussion. he's a tragic character with an absurdly complex family tree you can make almost anything work.
