If it's illegal to post, aren't you also breaking the law by saving it and distributing it? I think one of the saddest things about antis is that rather than viewing therapy as, well, therapeutic, they view it as:

Punitive ("you're a bad person, I don't like you, you're bad; go to therapy")

Corrective ("go to therapy so you can learn to be NORMAL")

A tool for spreading ideology ("your therapist would never agree that writing fics about [kink] is normal")

Not allowed flexibility on point 2 even for patient comfort ("if your therapist says your kinks ARE normal, you need a new one, because they are a bad therapist")

Devoid of patient care standards ("I want to be a therapist so I can fix the proship freaks [unspoken: not out of desire to help people and make their lives better. Solely so that I can be more comfortable and not see fic I don't like]")

Something only a 'defective' person would need, and that fixes all 'defects' ("you write icky fics. That's wrong. You're bad. You need therapy")

Has a standardized goal, determined by antis of course, instead of trying to help patients to navigate life ("if you were really in therapy, you wouldn't think it was okay to write about fictional characters being raped")

Not healthcare ("I, a layperson, am qualified to speak about how therapists should operate, a statement I would not make about medicine")

Yet also, healthcare, but only accessed by 'those icky people' ("you're insane, freak, only a delusional schizo would think this was okay")

For the comfort of others instead of for the patient themself ("you should go to therapy so you stop making works that make me comfortable; I don't care if it improves your life in any measurable way")

All of which are toxic and pervasive views of therapy demonstrated in multiple other aspects of society too, so I can't exactly say I'm surprised antis latch onto it so hard, but it is disheartening in any case.

Oh yeah, the anon talking about their twin reminded me of why the antis "If kids see this they'll think it's okay and do it IRL!" claim is so stupid to me.

When I was a kid I had like zero internet supervision and I would read the craziest Hetalia doujinshi. There was shit like incest, shota, bestality, noncon, you name it. And all of it was "romanticized" too and presented as something super hot and sexy.

Even though I was a kid/young teen it never even occured to me to do those things IRL.

But you know what I did almost replicate in real life after seeing it in fiction?

Running away from home to go live in the woods after reading My Side of the Mountain from the schools library. I also watched Matilda and then tried to use telekinesis lmao.

But one time my friend and I were playing on a playground and a group of older teens came up to us and asked us if we wanted to go somewhere with them.

And yet, despite reading all of the badwrong, problematic doujinshi, I was still really uncomfortable and didn't want to go with them. My friend basically told them to fuck off and we went right back to her moms house and told her what happened.

It's almost like it's not about what someone reads, but what they're taught. I knew not to hurt people and I knew not to go anywhere with strangers that I didn't know.

But my parents never sat me down for the "Don't run away to live in the woods and telekinesis isn't real" talk.

So maybe if antis are actually concerned about kids doing things in real life after reading about it, they should be fighting for more education in schools regarding consent, stranger danger, and safety.

Proship/proshipper means pedophile. It has always meant pedophile. I've been here long enough to remember the emergence of this term. It was made specifically to replace the acronyms MAP and NOMAP because people started to catch on to the fact that they also meant pedophile.
