Join the Visual Novel „Negai to Koukai“ Dev Team!

The NTK Development Team is looking for Sprite Artists! We currently have one background artist, one pixel artist and one composer on the team. The visual novel is going to be in anime style. We’d like to add mini games and more game mechanics to the game as well. The story has a wide variety in genres. In general, it is a mystery story that goes from comedy to dark, philosophical elements.

Positions we are mainly looking for:

Sprite Artists: drawing talking sprites and/or Game-Over cards

CG Artist (pieces of artwork used to accompany specific scenes)

Additional positions:

Composers

Helping with other aspect of the game!

The story of “Negai to Koukai” tends to be sarcastic and ironic at times, so those who are uncomfortable with it, might keep that in mind. The main goal of the game is trying to find the best solution to complicated situations, even if it means lying, cheating, manipulating and betraying others. It is your decision how low you are willing to step to get what you want. Besides that, you can befriend other characters, try solving riddles and cases (such as searching for the disappeared brother of another character.)

There are two goals your character has: Trying to get their will and trying not to let anyone become a threat to them. The story also features psychological, philosophical, and, in a certain way, even political elements. Your story can be more on the comedic side or philosophical side depending on your decisions.

As some of you may already know, “Negai ga Kanau Basho” is based on a web novel I wrote a few years ago, but Negai to Koukai is really different from NgKb, I also cut some characters out of the story, please don’t be upset if I threw out one of your favourites.

I like this version a lot more. It sounds more like riddle solving.

Here’s a revised and expanded version of that Riddle song for @ntkdevelopment. I’m much happier with this version, as it sounds more natural and mysterious, and a bit more chill. Yeah, if you’re trying to solve a riddle, you’ll probably need so sense of urgency. Overbearing pads, however, just startle and break concentration, so they had to go. It’s more padded too, so it makes it feel more complete, which is one of the things I didn’t like about the original composition. I’ve still got that other song I’m working on too, and that’ll hopefully be done within the next few days (now that I’ve said that it’s going to sit untouched for another two weeks, probably, but I’m going to work against my habits to make sure that doesn’t happen).

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy, even amidst all the chaos that is this…ehrm…wonderful, upstanding bastion of a website…yeeeeeaaaaaaah.

Here’s a WIP of that song for @ntkdevelopment I promised…a billion years ago. Not sure if this one counts as the happy one for when good things happen or the nostalgic one for kids playing just yet, but either way–nothing can be completely and purely happy here because this game is going to be suffering (also I’m just not good at writing happy-go-lucky stuff…whoops)

Anyway, I’ve still got a bit to go on this one, but I’m liking it so far! I hope you do too!

(PS: I will for sure post the finished product of that WIP from the other day tomorrow, as well as a remastered version of the Riddle song I posted a bit back–just got some finishing touches to do with both and then I’m done)

Do you want me to publish some short character bios for each character or not? I don’t know if it would take the fun out of playing the game later on when you already know what kind of characters they are.

Edit: And I’m not gonna publish those now anyway. I will publish them when all designs of the characters that appear in the first chapters are done.

Don't worry, people compare EVERYTHING to Doki Doki. If people compare your story to Doki Doki, it means nothing.

Uhh, okay! But now let us stop talking about Doki Doki Literature Club. This isn't blog to discuss the differences between those two stories. I heard it's a good game and there is probably a reason why people enjoy it so much.

When I played Doki Doki Literature Club it kindof reminded me of your novel. Has anyone told you that before? It’s not really like it but I see some similarities.

No, no one told be that before. My friend pointed out to me once that there is one thing that I wanted to add to the game that wasn't in the novel, that was way too similar to a scene in DDLC. I don't know enough about DDLC to say if there are any similarities. Though, many people tell me that my characters are similar to Danganronpa characters.

Don't worry. They're still in the story. I almost kicked Yuka out but realized how pointless that would've been.

Since you chose a different name for the VN and not the same as the online novel, does that mean that the VN is going to be very different from the novel? Or is it still the same? (PleASe LeT iT bE tHE saMe)

Let’s say that there are some things got changed but all in all it’s still the same. Though some characters got thrown out of the story some character development got cut shorter or got extended.I can’t go into detail, since it could contain spoilers for those who did not read NgKb (since most followers here aren’t even german so they obviously don’t know)
