My first encounter with A:TLA was after piano lessons one day, as I passed by the TV my teacher's kids were watching.

Years later, during my time studying abroad, I came across the show again and decided to watch it. A:TLA soon became my comfort show, welcoming me home after long, tiring days. My time abroad was difficult for many reasons, but thanks to this wonderful show, I was able to find comfort, peace, and joy in the midst of the struggle.

The new live action will definitely tell A:TLA's story in a different way, but I pray that it will keep the same spirit that has changed so many lives, including mine.

When I was practicing the second half of this song (which I only found out about yesterday thanks to Nintendo's 2024 LoZ concert), I felt such a rush of joy that I haven't felt before while playing the ocarina. Something about this song is so beautiful and uplifting that I could keep playing it forever.

I know Skyward Sword isn't many people's favorite Zelda game, but its bright colors, compelling characters, and even the motion controls have a special place in my heart. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Deviating from my usual setting and hat style but I wanted to share this video I took at the Renaissance Festival. The week before going, I had practically no time to practice all the new songs I had learned since I was busy crafting my own Master Sword (and sheath), sewing my Link hat, and painting my Hylian ears. Still, despite all the mistakes I made while playing for my fellow LoZ fans, I had such a great time.

Soon after this video was taken, I visited the mermaid aquarium and serenaded the mermaids there with this same song. It was such a magical moment!

Sounds like you've got plenty of songs lined up! If you do want a LoZ song after those, it belatedly occurred to me that there are actually songs played in-game on an ocarina. Might I humbly suggest Ballad of the Wind Fish from Link's Awakening?

Ack I just saw this ask! I haven't logged onto this blog in a while.

Thanks for the suggestion, Blue! The Ballad of the Wind Fish is definitely one I've been wanting to learn. I'll have to do some research how to though, since the covers I've seen of it were with double-chamber ocarinas to reach higher notes and I only have single-chamber ones. Maybe I can try folding the notes...

Anyways, I'll for sure get to that song one day! For now, I do have many other songs I haven't uploaded yet but plan to as soon as I can. I actually just uploaded my first LoZ cover on YT, but I'll post the links on this blog right now.

This is the first song I learned on the ocarina! I grew up with LotR and the Shire theme fills me with so much joy and nostalgia. Anyone else love watching the BTS? The costume/prop/set design videos are my favorites, but the hilarious interviews are great too.
