Batman turned 85 over the weekend, and this month is also the 18th anniversary of LEGO Batman. What better time to revisit one of my favorite Bat-builds — this wonderfully wacky statue from our "Adventures of Max" series, designed by @getwithamnow 🦇❤️
I had fun chatting with William and Seán on the World of Brickfilms podcast! We talked about old films trapped on VHS, finding non-LEGO creative inspiration, why I haven't made any brickfilms since 2018, and more. 🎙️
I designed, rigged, and animated a test for a character in an animated short series pitch @paganomation and I co-created.
Maybe when all our other projects are done we’ll get around to this 😂
This character has a California surfer vibe so I used audio from Cousin Cody of the 90’s TGIF sitcom “Step By Step.” Show still holds up until like season 6. Background & prop photography by @paganomation .
Rigged legs using @battleaxedotco rubber hose script.
After being away from stop-motion for almost 5 years (thanks covid), I was psyched to return to it by attending the STRATA GANZA event at Pratt! Learning Strata Cut animation theory and techniques from the masters was incredibly inspiring. Big thanks to all involved! 🎨❤️
"Plok!" for the SNES was released 30 years ago this month. I love this game so much that I spent much of my childhood creating a TON of Plok fanart — sketches, notebook doodles, and even a sculpted figure.
This is just a small sampling; I'm sure there are other pieces that I wasn't able to find, and still more that were lost to the ages. There's something special about a character designed with such perfect simplicity that it inspires a kid to draw them over and over again.
Many thanks, @plok-explodes. Cue "Beach Theme". 🏝️🎮
