I get this point, but you have to remember that Snape was doing the same thing to Harry just moments before. I’m trying to teach him legilimency, Snape was invading Harry’s mind over and over again, making him relive being abused by the Dursley’s, and borderline taunting him when he came to.

Harry didn’t even mean to invade Snape’s mind. He was disoriented, he was frightened. He just wanted it to stop. His magic lashed out, and he ended up seeing Snape’s memories as well.

And, let me say, his reaction is entirely disproportionate here. Harry saw Snape getting teased as a kid, and Snape decides to physically assault a child about it??? Meanwhile, Harry’s being nice, trying to make sense of things and get his footing back, and Snape grabs him so hard his hand goes numb?? Throws him to the floor???

Take it into perspective. Harry sees his years of abuse by the hands of people who are supposed to love and care for him, and doesn’t become an asshole about it. Snape sees himself being the victim of a (mostly) harmless prank, and lashes out violently against a 15 year old was just trying to defend himself.

I get that he was upset, but his actions were in no way justified. They weren’t even understandable. Snape is a sad, bitter man that will find any excuse to harm those he thinks deserves it. Even if the one that deserves it is a child that did nothing wrong.

I’m a huge fan of @mickules work, and I’ve read their Halloween series more times than I can count. Looking at all of the chapters of IOTS, I can safely say that most of the lines were taken word for word from those chapters. DJ’s specifically was practically identical to Gundham’s.

Some of your ideas are fully your own, and they’re really good! But the chapters below are proof that it wasn’t a mistake. It wasn’t just one chapter you saw. It’s good that you’re giving credit, be it months later, but you can’t plagiarize another person’s work this blatantly and call it “inspiration.”

For everyone else looking at this, please keep in mind that Mickules posted his series before @eavee-ry posted theirs. This has been bothering me for a while, but I’ve decided to speak on it now because of their answer to the ask above.

Please don’t send hate to this creator. They are young, and they likely didn’t mean any harm by it. I’m only posting this so that they, and others, will understand what happened. I encourage you to read both series in full, as they are both incredibly interesting!

Like I said before, Island of the Slaughtered has many original ideas that are phenomenal to read! If the creator is seeing this, I hope you know that your own ideas are more than good enough on their own!

I might be reaching somewhat but was that Island of the Slaughtered thing inspired by the Hope’s Peak rules ghosts made by Mickules? Couldn’t help but notice the similarities between the two such as the ghosts having forms manifested from their forms of death, specific guidelines to follow lest you suffer the consequences, a final rule basically meant as the point of no return(just with the consequences being accidentally letting Junko loose rather than Chris being bait for the survivors to escape)…

OH I’VE SEEN THEIR WORKS BEFORE and I must say I love them SO SO MUCH. I actually only saw the Kiyotaka art at that time and I was like “i really like this”

and then a few months later i get this idea (which is Island of the Slaughtered) and I remembered the Kiyotaka ghost thing and i was like ‘maybe i could write something like that for fun’ and then yeah i was really inspired

Then after i finished the series i found Peko’s art weeks later and i was like “THERE WAS MORE??”

Being quirkless is very obviously an allegory for being disabled. If Horikoshi wasn’t a coward, My Hero Academia would be about a quirkless (disabled) person overcoming prejudice and becoming the number one hero without a quirk.

Instead they had some dude give him a quirk (essentially “curing” him) which supports the idea that quirkless (disabled) people can’t be heroes.

Idk it just always bothered me.
