TW: Burning Alive, Murder, Past abuse(mentioned)
At first they thought her weak, soon they learnt she was being merciful. By then it was too late. They underestimated her. Now fire surrounded them. She stood in front of them with a wicked gleam in her eyes. The fire continued to erupt from her hands.
Fear coursed through them as the powerful meta-human trapped them more. The fear made them immovable. Trapped by their own terror the fire moved closer.
"Sorry now?" she yelled. Fury was evident in her voice. "Answer me!"
"Yes. We are sorry! Please grant us mercy," he cried. It was too late for mercy now.
The years of taunting and taking advantage were over. She would show them the same mercy they showed to her.
The fire began to kiss their skin. They tried to move from it but the circle was closing in too quickly. First came tears. Then screams. It echoed in the air as the fire engulfed them all.
"You will all be sorry now, " she said with a satisfied smirk.
Their screams began to die down as they perished. Soon it was silent.
She walked away from the area. The smell of burnt meat polluted the air along with the smoke. Tears fell down her face. Not from pain. Not anymore. From joy.
Joy of being able to live peacefully.
Prompt: 15
At first they though her weak, soon they learnt she was being merciful. By then it was too late.

His eyes were crazed, darting around to look at the shadows of the room.
Their limbs felt like jelly, afraid that they would collapse at any moment.
She was utterly frozen. Her body cut all communication with her mind, and no matter how much her brain screamed for her to run she was immobilized in terror.
He had a tight knot forming in his stomach.
They couldn't breathe. They were totally suffocated by fear and it felt like a heavy weight was pressing down on their chest.
Dread clouded her thinking. She walked around like she was in a daze, relying solely on muscle memory to get her down the hallway.
His hands were trembling so badly that he couldn't do anything and his terror made it impossible to focus.
Their throat was dry. No matter how many times they swallowed it did nothing to relieve the uncomfortable feeling.
The salty taste of fear lingered on her lips.
His muscles screamed at him to leave, but he couldn't bring himself to move. He stared forwards hauntingly.
They ran. They ran faster than their legs had ever carried them, adrenaline taking over all of their senses. It felt like they were being chased, but there was no way for them to know for certain. They were too afraid to turn around.
It felt like her heart was about to burst from her ribcage.
