Fanfic rewrite

So, those who know my fanfic Whispers in the Dark, the Dark x Reader story, will be interested to know that I've started work on rewriting the fic so it matches my current standards.

I already have several chapters sorted, I'll be rereading them again to see if there's anything I need to adjust.

Changing the reader to be gender neutral, to match WKM better

Void had a rather... turbulent past when he was still living with other dragons. The forbidden union of his parents had caused quite a stir as hybrids were known to take the abilities and resistances from both parents, making them a pain to deal with in a fight - it also didn't help that the union was of two different alignments. It meant that he was often looked down on and bullied for it, despite just appearing as a blue dragon for most of his young life.

But through some heartbreak and the murder of his mentor the previous dragon lord, Void became king. Void is still processing his past and will continue to do so for quite some time, he usually has to draw the memories. He loved his king.

The crystals you see in the throne room are Void's own doing, his magic slowly taking over the building that was crumbling around him with age as he didn't realize just how long he had the crown. Time moves weirdly for someone who has to act like a god.

It was when the castle was fully crystalized, that he left for other worlds. The first one was a quaint town where he got to play farmer.

Time to introduce my multiverse oc/sona.

His name is Void and uses He/They pronouns.

Hm? His hands? Oh! He's a dragon. A hybrid dragon, specifically a hybrid of two different species of dragons - A blue dragon and a silver dragon. He hides as an elf due to wanting to blend in better. Unfortunately, his disguise is limited to the magic of the world he visits, and not all places have magic so he had to borrow a certain kind of trinket to explain his abilities.

His scarf is actually his wings, they are very glittery.

His world takes a lot of influence from DnD 5e, and I'm sure you can guess what that means with him being a hybrid, and dressed like a fancy bard.

Void's dragon form is very big, so to be able to condense it down to around 7ft means his feelings get concentrated which leads to very interesting scenarios that will get him in trouble - All consensual, I promise.

On a more sona side of things, he represents the side of my genderfluidity that at points stops feeling entirely human in nature.

Update about my brother

He said if I died before him he'll make sure my deadname is on my grave

Okay, weird time to jump back into my page but I need to vent

But tell me why my brother tried implying that the reason I'm trans was because of me possibly being SA'd as a child?

We only found out that a dude that babysat me when I was young was a creep a couple of months ago

I came out as trans what... Over a year ago???

Also, considering I don't remember anything happening and I was raised by a survivor of CSA to tell if anything happened, and my mother doesn't remember me saying anything

My brother is literally trying to pin a scenario that probably never even happened as the reason I'm trans

And hasn't even considered that I'm trans because that's who I am.

Fucker says he's confused about it all but won't even let me try and answer any questions he has because of his theory. I don't even think he's actually confused.

This is the same brother who has plenty of queer friends but said in front of me that he'd teach his son not to be gay.

Also I'm pretty sure he's a conspiracy theorist too considering.

Oh, and in the same conversation, he tried pinning the fact he didn't get enough affection out of our mother (a CSA survivor, and she was barely 20 when she had him) when he was a kid as to why he treats me like shit (because she was affectionate towards me) even though he was fine with me before he went to college. Seriously, this man bullied his sibling (who is 10 years younger than him) since I was 6 because he thinks he didn't get enough hugs as a child.

Funny how her affection only wasn't enough after college, Josh. Or was it because she didn't buy you enough at Christmas to sway you over, you materialistic vain arse.

He still pokes at mum's mistakes even though she has apologised again and again and has grown as a person.

I just... Can't deal with him anymore. But he's already complained that I blocked him on everything so...
