Poker bankroll management strategy that coaches don't tell you! It is not just having enough buy-ins in your poker account You must adjust When you are not playing your A-game, you should play at lower stakes. In the business world, minimizing losses and maximizing profit is the most important thing to master. Winstreak When you are having an upswing, go to play at higher stakes (don’t get crazy though) Moving up stakes Don’t go straight to upper stakes. Add just one table by time and keep the rest at a current stake. Play for one week. If you are still making a profit, add one more and play for a week until you have moved up completely. If you start losing, keep the same or move down to one table at a time. THE LAST TIP IS MAINLY FOR A MENTAL GAME Keep an extremely big bankroll When you have a big bankroll, swings won’t affect that much. My personal recommendation is 100 buy-ins for both cash games and tournaments. For more details, read “Treat Your Poker Like A Business” by Dusty Schmidt. This is the book that every poker player should read.

I just posted a meme about slow playing at micro stakes. Should we ever slow play at micros?
The answer is - yes. We just have to find the right spots, and this video shows one of the most perfect spots to slow play. Can you guess why I chose to slow play this hand? How about my betting size on the River? Why do you think I chose to bet almost a pot there?

There are some players who try to convince everyone to know that poker is a skill game. That is a big mistake. The only way to make money in poker is by making better decisions than others. As long as recreational players believe poker is just a game of luck, they will give us money by making gamble moves. Do you agree or disagree?
Btw, we have a poker shirt in our store: “Poker is just a game of luck - or that I want to make you believe”. Buy that and many other poker apparels on POKER.STYLE.

Poker study tip for visual learners:
After reading an interesting or important passage, stop to reflect what you have read by creating visual images in your head. Transfer your thoughts to paper in the form of charts, graphs, diagrams or webs. Review your information after a short period of time and then periodically to build those neuron pathways and transfer the learning from short-term to long-term memory.

There is a huge misconception about what comes to studying poker (and in life generally). I was personally a bad student in the school; it was mainly because sitting still on the hard chair was super uncomfortable. Most people won’t agree, but I have found out best way for me to study and play poker is by laying on the couch comfortably. Do you agree or disagree? Poker Study Tip for Kinesthetic Learners Be comfortable when you read or watch an instructional video. Reading in a hammock, a swing or a rocking chair can give you physical movement when you read. Using a bean bag or big comfortable chair will allow you change your body position as you read or watch an instructional video.

Phil scores $1 million after winning first place in a big tournament in Las Vegas. A reporter asks: “Congratulations on your big win! How do you plan on spending your million dollars in winnings? Phil responds: “I owe some people some money, so I’ll be paying my debt to these guys.” The reporter follows up: “And what about the rest?” The player responds: “Well, I guess they'll have to wait.”

Discount outs. Almost never you won’t have the same amount of outs that out-chart says. Your outs can be in dead cards, in the villain’s hands, or still on the deck. It is always better to be too tight than calling without the right odds.
Follow this instead:
Over 5 outs = discount 1 out
+10 outs = -2 outs
+15 outs = -3 outs

Poker Learning Styles:
1. Visual – Learn by observing and writing
- Take noted. Just the act of writing down the key information will help you to learn.
- Think things through by reading and rereading your notes.
- Pay attention to what works for your opponents. Observe and note so you can learn these skills.
2. Auditory – Learn by listening
- Listen to what your opponents say. (It’s like a tell.)
- Think things through by talking to yourself (silently) or to someone you respect – a poker buddy.
- Speak it aloud to yourself – away from the poker table.
3. Tactile – Learn by doing
- Most people prefer the “hands-on” approach.
- Many can “shut out the world” and concentrate.
“ - Doodle” with pen and paper to help you remember. (What works for others at the poker table can help you, too.)
