After Max got bedridden, Lucas and El started doing the same things day after day, until they fell into a new routine of their own.

Lucas was bicycling to El’s house, where she was already waiting for him outside. He would stop, throw him bicycle on the ground and hug highly brown-head, hiding his face in his hair. 

It was a comforting moment for both of them. They could feel the warmth of the other person and their solid form that was keeping them grounded. They also just really needed closeness from someone who understand them. And they understand each other the best. Their pain, their sorrow, guilt, feelings.

After that, Lucas would take his bike again and El would sit behind him, on his new bike rack that he buy specially for her, so she wouldn��t have to stand. Then, they would make their way to the hospital.

Two of them spends the most time in Max’s hospital room. Sometimes they read to her, sometimes they just hold her hands, and sometimes they just there. Sitting, maybe talking which each other. But the most important to them, is just being there, feeling her presence. Because she was till there. She was breathing, and as long as she won’t stop, they would not stop trying to take her back.

After that, they hit the road again. They’re bicycling to El’s or Lucas’ home for a dinner. Lucas doesn’t have appetite at all, while El wants to eat too much to be healthy, but both of them are always eating just healthy amount of food. For Max, and for each other.

Then, their make their way to one of theirs room and start looking for Max. Lucas turns on the radio and tunes to the right station, while El takes her material to blind herself. 

When they are ready, they sit on the floor, facing each other. 

The very first times, El was doing it like always. 

But it was dark and empty and so cold.

She was suddenly throwing off her blindfold with a scream. She was shivering, and her breath was uneven, and sometimes she was even sobbing.

It wouldn’t do.

That’s why, Lucas started to hold her hand during her search for Max. or both hands. Or even making El sat on his thighs. It didn’t bother them. It was nice, and El even being in that dark cold place, could still feel Lucas’ chest on her back, his arms lightly wrapped around her waist and hands placed on her tummy. 

She wasn’t alone. They weren’t alone. 

They understand each other’s pain like no other person. And they would find Max.

They would do it together.

El and Lucas went trick or treat to each house's they see and they decide to stop at Max trailler to come and suprice her and its just lead to Max having Bi Panic.

autumn henderhop headcnon 💜

You could think that being in a simple costume like ghost may be too ordinary for Dustin, but you would be wrong.

It was one time, when he was hanging out with El in his room. He went to the kitchen for cookies, and when he came back to his room, and saw El standing in the centre of the room, with his white blanket on her head that was so big that it was covering her whole body.

When he saw her, he felt something warm in his chest and immediately made a serious face and yelled “WHERE is my ghostbusters costume!?!?” matching her energy and making ghost-El giggle.

Not taking the blanket off her, his friend asked him with a smile in her voice if they could wear ghost costumes this time. 

Dustin… wasn’t into it. He was way more creative than that, and like always liked to impress people with his costumes. But he also wanted to do it for El because he cherished her and her smile. 

He was in trouble, he thought.

But then he thought and thought some more, and finally he came up with an idea.

“What if first half of the Halloween we will be ghosts and other half something I will choose?”

El smiled brightly and hugged Dustin without a world, showing that she was happy with that solution.

And that what they did. And they had so much fun with that.

On that day, Jonathan and Dustin’s mum took a lot of photos of these two, so they won’t ever forget that day.
