LYALL LUPIN WASNT A BAD FATHER!

Imagine your son gets bitten by a werewolf when he’s four, and you have to lock him in a closet or whatever every month and listen to him calling for his mum and dad knowing you can’t go to him.

No-one in the wizarding world world would be prepared for that. They wouldn’t know how to raise a werewolf because it’s not something you would ever expect to have to do. Yes, he was probably distant, emotionally and physically, but he tried his best.

Some fics hc that he killed himself because Remus was a werewolf. That could be taken as that he was ashamed, but honestly it makes so much more sense that he felt guilty. His four year old son was attacked and he didn’t/couldn’t stop it, and then he had to deal with listening to his son in pain every month, probably blaming himself 24/7, convincing himself that it’s his fault that his son will never be able to go to Hogwarts and live a normal life.

And then imagine him watching Remus get the letter in the post. Imagine how scared he must have been for him. Imagine him spending every full moon restless and unable to sleep, terrified that this time would be the one where Remus was sent home, or worse, sent to prison.

Which should i prioritise guys help😭 (i’ve started writing both)

1. Is a Jegulus long fic with wolfstar subplot and black brothers reconciliation. it’s alternate universe, and i haven’t seen the concept around much

2. Is centred around Lily going home for Christmas 1976 and dealing with her problems with Petunia and their relationship. It’s probably going to be about 20,000 words, but I can’t say for sure. It also has kinda subplot Jily, James does feature.

comments on fanfics

I thought about writing this post for a long time and decided, fuck it, I'm gonna write this.

All over my dash I see people being disappointed because nobody is leaving comments on ao3 anymore/rebloging things on tumblr.

And the only thing I can think about this is: it's so true.

Two weeks ago I posted the epilog of my 60k words fanfic (I've been writing on it for almost a year and got some positive feedback on it) and I got ZERO comments, or kudos on the epilog.

I can see that people kicked on it, but I have no idea whether they liked it or not. (And I used to get a comment on my story now and then)

Last week I posted the first extra chapter (I planned three of these) and also got no reaction.

No I'm just sitting here, wondering if my writing is just true shit.

This is also the reason I was hesitate to post this. Maybe it's not the people and just that shithole of a story I've been writing.

Things like are just running around my head now and must say that the motivation to even finish those extra chapters is gone.

GUYS, IF YOU LIKE A FANFIC PLEASE LET THE AUTHOR KNOW, IT MEANS SO MUCH TO THEM.

So if you read a good story, not some bullshit like mine, write that comment.

When the two of them arrived at the Three Broomsticks, they took a seat at the back so that no-one would see them and report them to their teachers. They sipped their butter beer together, James keeping the conversation light and away from any discussion of their parents, though it was clear Regulus could tell that something was up.

“What's wrong, James? I can tell something’s up with you.”

James’ breath seized in his chest slightly, and he swallowed the lump in his throat that was beginning to form. “Why?” He asked, his tone breathy, quick, borderline accusatory. “Did Sirius say something?”

Regulus shook his head, frowning slightly. “No. Why? Have you two fallen out or something?”

The Gryffindor bit his lip, feeling slightly guilty for the way he had just spoken to the boy he wanted to be his boyfriend. He ran a hand through his hair, sighing and rubbing his eyes. “No, we haven’t, no. Him and Remus are just, like, really worried about me, I don’t know.”

Regulus seemed to brighten up even more when James told him this, and he turned his head, looking out over the lake. He was buzzing with happiness, it almost seemed to James that he was vibrating around the edges, glowing, sparkling, shining. Regulus tilted his head up, gazing up at the sky and taking in the smattering of constellations that were scattered across it in intricate patterns. “The stars are pretty tonight.” He said, his eyes darting around. James gazed at Regulus, nodding slowly. “Yeah… yeah they are…” He trailed off, lost in thought as he looked at the Slytherin boy beside him. Regulus laughed, turning his head towards him. “How do you know, you aren’t even looking at them!” “Well,” James laughed to himself, blushing before he could even get the words out and moving closer to Regulus. “I’m looking at the prettiest star, I don’t need to see the others right now.” Regulus blushed intensely, James would’ve thought it was impossible for someone so pale to go so red, and laughed, moving his head closer to the Gryffindor’s. “I should've known you’d be soft like this. At least it isn’t as public as all that stuff with Evans.” James smiled. “It’s only you I’m soft for, don’t worry. I don’t go around saying stuff like that to any old guy. I’ve gotta lay it on thick if I want you to agree to being my boyfriend.”

Regulus laughed, then there was a brief moment of silence as the two looked at each other. “Do you wanna do Quidditch as your job then, when you graduate?” “Yeah, I think so. I mean, it all depends on whether one of the teams will let me in, but that's what I really want.” “I’m sure they will. If I’m being honest, you are very good, Potter.”  James blushed slightly as he said this, and sat up, still facing him. “You’ll have to come to my matches and cheer me on.” Regulus sighed in a dramatic fashion. “Well, I suppose I will occasionally, if I can clear my schedule.” The two were close, it wouldn’t be hard for James to lean forward and press a kiss onto Regulus’ unsuspecting lips. He swallowed roughly, gazing into the Slytherin’s eyes and tilting his head slightly. “Thank you for helping me today, James.” Regulus’ voice was quiet, soft. There was something in his eyes that James had never seen before, and he didn’t know what to expect from it.  “Yeah, anytime.” James’ voice was even quieter than Regulus’, a broken whisper, but he couldn’t bring himself to clear his throat. Regulus leaned forward slightly, and James literally couldn’t believe what was going on. He looked almost like he was about to kiss James, but there was no way, no way.
