Been thinking about what to present in this blog, for now it will be mostly my auditory experience. The dictionary defines auditory as the following: • perceived through or resulting from the sense of hearing • an assembly of hearers; audience I have through life been stimulated in an auditory manner quite deeply. This blog will indulge my ramblings about anything that pricks my ears and interest. I hope what's here, enables you to hear, and stimulates your grey stuff. May your listening be animated and take you somewhere within your own imagination, perception and heart.

Declan O’Rourke - Arrivals.
I remember being far way from home and waiting for someone I cared for, for many hours at the arrivals side of an airport. I observed such joy, while nervously waiting for my cared for person.
I know those who can’t learn to forgive too. There really are very few reasons to not forgive. ❤️ P&L

Crystal Palace Bowl Stage
It’s not often (I hope) that I ask for much but our wonderful decrepid Crystal Palace bowl stage affectionally known as ‘the laptop’ has a crowdfunder to bring it back to it’s former glory. This area has staged big acts like, Bob Marley, The Cure, Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Beach Boys, Elton John etc. More importantly it hosted a Battle of the South London Bands event where local Performers got to showcase their material until the venue was deemed too dangerous.
It’s a wonderful outside venue, that on a sunny hazy day can transcend you away. It’s a gem of a summer music venue that deserves another life.
Please support, I’d be very grateful.
Loads of love always 💜

I REALLY enjoyed going for a walk around this recreational ground to the rear of where I live today. You can see it’s trees from all windows at the back of the house. It felt like it was the height of summer but with everyone with wool that’s on and staying very far away from eachother. I don’t envy people with no green space near them and why I love this corner of London so much.
Love ❤️

Shine if you want to.
It’s been a tough couple of days. The reality and shock of our new reality hit me full force yesterday. It was a very emotional day.
Life is more complicated by the back of my house being removed only a few days ago for work and not knowing if any builder will be allowed to finish it in a few days or weeks time. We have no kitchen, no dining area, no washing machine and are squashed into the rest of the house. The house is not secure or fully weather proof. Not the greatest recipe with a small child.
Thank fuck we have a great garden. I went through a lot of keep this house and it was the garden that won it for me. It is literally a life saver right now. We spent most of today in it and my god how beautiful it was.
Posted is a photo of the much needed sunshine.
Thank you to all those who are live streaming to keep people going. The internet had never been such a life line for families, loved ones and perfect strangers. I get to watch the videos when I have a chance, sometimes the timings clash with motherhood duties.
Keep on keeping on and shine on a world who bloody needs hope and love. If you need something back too, it’s time to ask.
We are in this together.
So much love & strength to you right now.

Fantastic Fungi - lets go viral.
In these uncertain times, when our governments or societies behaviour leaves a lot to be desired and it would be easy to be pessimistic about human nature and the world, here is something to restore your faith in people and nature.
I’ve posted about the creators of this film a couple of times. This film was funded by crowdsourcing and whilst the showings have been gaining traction in the US it has been slow over this side of ocean.
A worldwide screening of this was due to take place 26 March 2020 creating a community watching across the world. Only one screening was happening near me, which I could not make. I am delighted to state this has changed.
Due to Coronavirus the makers have decided to release it for general streaming on Vimeo. Meaning we can now watch it at home - one small silver lining to ‘social distancing’ or ‘self isolation’. I hope as a result of this action this reaches much further than hoped, and a different viral movement is created.
Please share the link below.
We are in unprecedented times on many levels but there is always community, hope and restoration if we remember one another and look after one another.
We are not alone.
Be kind people. Never more so, than now.
Much love, health and strength to you and all your loved ones. 💕
P&L. Xx

Killing Bono - Neil McCormick
Recently finished reading this book. Don’t know how I missed it or the film adaptation of Neil’s book, but I did.
A great read about a band’s struggle to make it the in music industry, the niavity and innocence of youth, the bloody mindedness of kidadulthood and the wisdom of age, in the pursuit of fame and noteriety. Plus it charts the ascension of U2 and the friendship of the author and the band, alongside portraying Ireland’s long embryonic music scene. Funny, honest and wholly one sided (which McCormick makes no bones about) but a great read none the less.
For an early history of Bono and U2, the book is interesting. For the story a less complicated history of bands of the past and for many to come in the future, the book is earnest, genuinely funny and definitely worth a read.
Peace, music 🎧 and of course, always love ❤️.

Snow Patrol - Reworked 2.
I am late to the party as getting used to a new job. Have been listening over the last few days.
Honestly, hand on heart this is such a great album. It has really given each song a new lease of life and a different confidence shines through in these renditions. There is not one bad reworking of your songs and new ones shine for themselves.
I’ve just read through the set list from last night and wow, I’m gutted I don’t have tickets to see you all on the 20th. Prefer the start of a tour when it’s still new. You are playing loads of my favourite tracks AND Dark Switch, still my favourite from Wildness. I hope I can join you somewhere on this tour but work is full on right now.
Enjoy the tour. Reworked 10 years ago was magical. This looks set to be magic in a more ‘normal’ sense of the word.
Big Love to you all. ❤️ xx

Heilung.
Words do not describe this experience at the roundhouse this evening.
Tribal, medieval, communal, slightly intimidating ensemble.

Moving Arts - Forest
How beautiful. How insignificant we, but tiny specs on the earth are. Yet how wonderful we are to capture and appreciate this, our intimate being, if we can watch with such reverence. We should persevere too. See it through our own lens. Elizabeth Gilbert wrote ‘The Signature of Things’ after reading ‘Gathering Moss’ a book from a Native American Female Botanist - Robin Wall Kimmerer. I am deeply lamenting the space to ‘Stand and stare as long as sheep and cows’. Because ‘what is this life if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare?’
See the original espisode (isn’t that great that we can view the magic of nature in an episode!) on Netflix or other.
With peace, beauty and love. 🌎 🍁🍂♥️

Doppelgänger
Belated birthday wishes to you my dear.
Our beloved local annual Festival started yesterday so I am late.
Hope you are all doing well. Especially your brother and bandmate N. I can’t imagine how slightly terrifying it is to find what gives you joy and an income being temporarily lost or at risk. Good health vibes seems to be flooding in and hopefully all that collective energy does some good. Add mine too.
The above had us entertained for quite a while yesterday, my friends thought that the local musician David Rothon and pedal steel aficionado was comedy legend Alan Davies making an appearance on our main stage yesterday. After a lot of discussion and some extensive googling we found out this was not the case, however I can see why the assumption was made from a distance. David did resemble a slight more shabby, serious looking Alan from 20 or so metres away.
Take care of all of ye and much love sent your way. ❤️ x

Just Mustard
I am so proud of my wee cousin who drums for the band Just Mustard. They are on a rising trajectory and this weekend had the honour of being watched by none other than Robert Smith of The Cure, headlining Malahide Castle last Saturday.
I was living with his Mam & Dad when he was born and remember the strawberry haired bundle of fun and energy has was as a baby. He is a humble, generous and intelligent man now and has always been a great drummer since his teens.
The whole band are lovely people, unassuming and talented without arrogance. They deserve to do well. I am beyond pleased for them.

So I don’t have too many photos from yesterday but preferred to not experience it through a lens. I wish I had one of you smiling but there appear to plenty floating around. Shame the friends I met weren’t willing to come near the front of the crowd but hey.
Watching you look so happy, makes me so rediciously happy. It’s powerful stuff.
Feel positively emotional. Combined with seeing my 92 year old Granda in Dublin as well I feel my heart might burst with love.
Thank you for a wonderful show and the songs you played.
Much love always ❤️ x

Babysitter booked. Flight booked. I can’t wait to hear you all with an Irish crowd. I’m sooo excited.
I know it is improbable but it would be so special if you could play a track from When It’s All Over...or a less well played track from Wildness both albums being in my top two. It would mean a lot.
My cousin plays Malahide Castle the next night with Just Mustard, I am so over the moon with how well they are doing. It seems Robert Smith hand picked them or how the story goes. Couldn’t squeeze in two concerts but wish I could. Two Dundalk based musicians gracing the castle in two days Da Toon should be proud.
Big Love ❤️
