Just saw a clip from a medical drama I haven't watched, but the clip was a common troupe in medical dramas and I just realized how weird this troupe actually is.

So the clip was a girl, who had gotten into an accident which resulted in some injuries to her face. But oh no prom is next week and her date dumped her last minute. But don't worry this hot doctor/EMT/Nurse swoops in and he'll take you to the prom.

Like the message is your physical appearance isn't everything. And it's a nice message but if you really think about it...

The girl is going to prom. Maybe it's just me but you don't often hear college students going on about prom, that's a high school thing. So this girl is probably 17-18. Average age for a beginner EMT is 28. Average age for a beginner doctor (well assume it's before/during their residency) 26. Average age of a beginner nurse mid to late 20s and early 30s.

Why is it acceptable that this man, who is a complete stranger if not for the fact he helped treat her injuries, take her to a school dance? Like at my school you had to get special permission to bring a date from another school, I genuinely don't see them allowing a grown ass man to just accompany a student.
