The way thing about this situation is that it doesn’t invoke any surprise. I don’t know about you guys, but for my environment in the school, especially in those early formative years it was a regular occasion for boys to act in a sexualised/predator way. The reason for that is because boys usually start watching porn at 12 and it fries their brains. Girls who are in the same environment with them become objects.

Nordic model in the U.S

I've came a cross an American 'feminist' claiming that the Nordic model is ineffective in general, and that it is not applicable in the U.S.

That's bullshit of course, so lets unpack.

What is a Nordic Model?

Also known as the Swedish model, the Nordic model is an approach that situates prostitution on a continuum of male violence against women. It is an approach that criminalizes the purchase of sex and pimping but decriminalizes prostituted individuals. This is known as “asymmetric criminalization”. In addition to the legislative component, the model includes programs to prevent the purchase of sex and resources for women who want to exit prostitution. The Nordic model got its name from the fact that the first country to apply it, in 1999, was Sweden, followed in 2009, by Norway and Iceland. It is now being considered in several other European countries, including France, Ireland, England, and Finland.

"Nordic Model doesn't work in the U.S!"

This statement prompted me to conduct a research on the matter, as I am not American, so perhaps you can consider it as a criticism of my work, it's always healthy to stay a little critical.

Let's take a look at two very contrasting states in the country of McDonald's: Nevada and Maine.

Why are those states so different, you may ask. I will answer you: Nevada has the prostitution fully legalised with literal brothels, while Maine adopted the Nordic model in 2023.

Now, let's look at the statistics of human trafficking in both states throughout the recent years. It's important, because the feminist that commented under my post claimed that by banning prostitution you 'increase human trafficking'.

I know, I know. But by grace through faith, remember?

Ergo. Official numbers:

The year of 2024.

Maine - 88 hotline signals, 41 trafficking cases identified, involving 61 victims. Among these, 17 were sex trafficking cases.

Nevada - 418 hotline signals, 236 trafficking cases, 539 victims. Out of these, 158 were sex trafficking cases, 33 labor trafficking and 23 both.

2. The year of 2019.

Maine (National Hotline) - 23 sex trafficking cases; total 36 trafficking cases.

Nevada - 200 sex trafficking cases; total 239 trafficking cases .

It’s true that there is a difference in Maine’s reports in 2019 and 2024. The Nordic model was adopted there in 2023, as was mentioned before. In 2024, there are more trafficking cases. However, one should take note of the fact that it is possible that the apparent rise in the number of victims of human trafficking may be a result of an increase in reports of human trafficking.

Nevada has the highest victim amount in the nation. Per 100k (2019-2023) 58.5. Maine’s rate was around 19.1 per 100k, Maine’s per‑capita trafficking incidence (cases) ranks among the very lowest in the U.S.

Legal Context & Abuse Risk (Nevada)

Legal brothels exist in rural Nevada, but illegal prostitution dominates – 90% of the illegal sex trade

Reports allege that legalized brothels have facilitated trafficking and abuse: an audit found 30% of workers showing trafficking red flags.

Nevada has the highest trafficking victim-per-capita rate, with roughly 90% female and 21% minors .

So? What do you think? I think we need to be like Maine and the Nordics, not sacrificing women for the marxist dream, or whatever that was.

thoughts on people changing their birth names w/o the whole “if you want to change your name then you must be transgender” thing?

i’m a bio female and plan on legally changing my full name because i have severe trauma connected to every aspect of it (and i just generally dislike it anyway) but i digress. for several of my pre-teen and teenage years i had been told that i must’ve wanted to be a man if i wanted to change my name so badly.

hm. i just find it odd that these are the conclusions that people are jumping to when someone who’s non-trans identified just wants to peacefully change their names and be rid of their birth name 😬

Your name is only yours, and you are the only one whose opinion should matter in this regard.

A name change is not inherently connected to transition. People have different incentives to do so, including the reason that you talked about.

Moreover, association of a particular name with a particular ’gender’ is another social construct. I’ve seen names that have a male connotation in one language, but they are used with a female one in the other language. It just proves name for what it is- a combination of closely positioned letters that we give meaning to.

Please, do whatever suits you best.

Reposting this post, to address the popular motto amongst the trans activists that is going around. Kept seeing this statement, so I suppose it became quintessential in their community.

As some might know, I love language, and the way that it reflects the user of it.

As we face illiteracy in the contemporary society, one of its characteristics is that people stopped using words according to their meaning. The reason for that? They don’t know the meaning of it.

Here we have the following exhibit: an acronym ‘terf’ which can mean two things - ‘trans exclusionary radical feminist’ or ‘trans exclusionary radical feminism’.

Fetish is a word that is commonly used to denotate ‘a form of sexual desire in which gratification is strongly linked to a particular object or activity or a part of the body other than the sexual organs’. Example: “ A man with a fetish for surgical masks.”

Another definition is slightly older, fetish was used to describe ‘the objects believed to have magical powers’.

So here we have a puzzle, with many variables that can be put together, in order to make sense. Will it make sense eventually? Alas, no.

It’s an incoherent rage bait, that I find rather ridiculous. Jokes on me for expecting something of substance of people who live in a fictional reality.

There were people who wanted to comment under a video of a young woman, too young in fact, who wanted to irrevocably change herself more than likely not understanding the physical implications that she might face.
