Star Butterfly’s Wand, created in Adobe Illustrator CC.  I have been learning to use Illustrator as a response to the on-and-off nerve damage in my drawin’ arm.  I am frustrated by the learning curve, but I had quite a few “aha” moments while building this image.

Today’s theme is “Cartoon Self-Portrait” - here’s me on my third cup of coffee.  I wanted to animate more of the image but I don’t have the time at the moment!  Future improvement?  This was rushed, but fun... I just used Kyle’s brushes - pencil hard HB.  Was going to do something more rough and hand-drawn style but wound up cell-shading... -.-”

Today’s painting theme is “Journey to the Center of the Earth.”  I’ve never seen that movie, but I saw this screencap and fell in love.  Also, I’m now tempted to go on a Brendan Fraser movie kick.

I experimented with Kyle’s Brushes: Big Wide Softie.  Not sure how it was intended to be used, but it’s the only brush used here.  I really ought to watch his tutorials. -.-”

Photo comp and digital painting for a book cover.  I was requested only to make the front cover, which would fit into the author’s template (typography will be out of my hands).  I can’t wait for the book to be released!  I will post a picture of the book once it’s in print.  The book is written and self-published by my father. I like this better than the WIP I posted previously.  This time I took a picture of an antique pocket watch and I like that much better.
