Because Alexander was never hers to lose. Even after the betrayal, the turns and the lies, Alexander belonged to many places, more than she could mention, but enough to know who she married.

He belonged to the war, to his work, to Washington's orders, to his writings, to his damned obsession with his legacy, to flattery, to revolution... And when it came to people, she knew how much her sister understood him, she heard the name John Laurens in his dreams on more than one occasion and, recently, Maria Reynolds was not the cause of the ruin of her marriage, she was just another piece in the mountain that Alexander liked to call his legacy.

So she couldn't blame her, not even hate her, because that would mean that she had to hate Alexander in the same way, and no matter how hard she tried, she wouldn't succeed.

When Thomas Jefferson knocked on her door, she assumed he was there to remind her husband that he had ruined more than one life. Because she believed that was how he was, after all, the things she heard from that man were the things her husband and sister told her, and none of them were even remotely good enough to keep the door open.

He put his foot in the way, preventing her from leaving him behind. She sighed tiredly, feeling like that might be enough to break her once again.

"He is not at home" he murmured, opening just a little more, keeping his gaze downcast, "can you please go away?"

"Not looking for him."

"There is no one else, please leave."

At first, she thought she had become the object of the man's mockery, and she tried to close the door even harder. When the man shrieked "fuck Hamilton" and then had to clarify "except those with Schuyler blood," with a pained look on his face, she couldn't help but smile.

And she felt bad for having hurt his foot, so she cordially invited him in. And he had the most pleasant afternoon since "that event," in the company of a man who was supposed to be despicable.

And so they became good friends. Eliza taught him to "be less extreme and more sweet", Jefferson taught her to "be tougher if she needed to." Jefferson did not even feed the pain and resentment that Eliza must have felt towards Hamilton, and he hated Alexander, of course, but he didn't want Eliza to know what pure hatred was, so he took it upon himself to hate him for her.

That's it. This is how they fell in love.

As I said, Blitzø was the one who benefited from that agreement (which he reached voluntarily), If Stolas did not offer him the book would not have gotten a shred of attention from Blitzø. So don't talk to me about "oh, Blitzø was used".

Also, Stolas isn't the one having a hate party in his honor, just saying..

So before I get started, I just want to say that I am a huge Stolas fan and I relate to him on so many levels, but also I don't hate Blitzø because honestly, I kind of relate to him a bit too, so please don't take this as Blitzø hate because it's not.

My opinion (as if someone cares):

I don't get the "it's Stolas' fault" thing.

I don't understand where so much hate comes from. Stolas has wounds, is a victim of domestic violence, and has to keep a mask because he cares for his daughter.

Come on, I would understand the "Blitzø's a poor victim" if he hadn't been the one who "put himself in that situation" by breaking in to steal a book and resorting to sex to obtain it. He wanted his book, he got it. "Stolas treated him like a slut" How does an "we fuck and you can keep my book" agreement work???

Don't get me wrong, I understand Blitzø, I relate to him someway. But when someone hurts you, you can hardly say "Oh, he's just had a shitty life and several unresolved traumas" much less if it's someone to whom you can dedicate a "we hate you" party and more than a hundred people attend. We empathize with him because we know his story and the show is focused on him. In the end, they're both traumatized characters acting like traumatized characters. Wow!!! I can't believe that!!! How dare they???!!!!

Still, I must point out that it is not surprising that Blitzø did not know how to react to Stolas' attentions, it must be weird when your sex partner suddenly acts like a partner... A romantic partner. Neither Blitzø nor Stolas have any idea of what a healthy love is, they are both a couple of damaged idiots.

Stolas fell in love, like someone who frequently fucks with someone??? You can't villainize him for that, you can't blame him for having idealizations like we all have when we fall in love.

Yes, he is not a victim, but he is not a monster. He's like a selfish fool immature dude who falls in love for the first time.

All 2 u explains toxic dynamics (which I hope no one here has experienced before), he's in love and "missing every sign and every glance and every turn" and anyone who has been in a toxic situationship will understand that feeling...

"But he kissed another boy, and said he just wanted someone to love him." I thought it was already clear that he has such low self-esteem that it's embarrassing. He was drunk and heartbroken, I think that's one of the most human things (Judging by what I have experienced and what I have seen others experience, it is horrible, yes, but immaturity and vulnerability lead you to stupid actions). They gave us traumatized characters who act out and I appreciate that.

So, I just came here and found out Stolas has haters ???? I spent the whole show thinking "what a relatable character" but I joined the fandom and see a lot of you saying he's a piece of shit, lmao.

So I have a hypothesis. If you kin Blitzø, you probably "hate" Stolas. If you kin Stolas, you probably "hate" Blitzø. If you're normal, you understand both of them...
